Summary: I would not recommend the fried chicken (but I can't speak for their fish and chips). Pros: the food looked good. Cons: the batter was too thick and scaly for fried chicken, the chicken smelled and tasted of fish and chips, and it was dry and dense.

Today I had the misfortune to be served the worst chips I have ever had. Hard, stale and dry, they seemed like they had been sitting around all day, which strange we were ordering at tea time. The savaloy seemed off too. It all went in the bin.

Had previosuly ordered a few takeaways from here. Food was decent quality. However the two most rercent experiences have been so comically bad, approaching Basil Fawlty levels of inedeptitude - I felt compelled to warn others I live 10 minutes away from the establishment. I ordered at 7pm for delivery at 8pm. At 8.10 I caled up to enquire where it might be to be told it left at 8.10 and was on its way. At 8.30 it was still missing. At 9pm it was still missing. It eventually arrived at 9.17pm. Obviously in a white paper bag and having sat in a car all night it is stone cold and inedibly greasy I called to explain the situation to be told they were incredibly sorry for the awful service and the value would be credited to my account Having agreed it was patheticically bad service, I agreed with the lady to perhaps call back on a quiet weekday lunchtime and try then. Having just called back to redeem my credit, I was told by the owner this would not be honoured. He then told me numerous lies about how long it might take to deliver, some truths about how they lie to stack up orders near each other to save money and time on deliveries, and that as far as he was concerned he didnt care if I ever ordered from there again I probably write about one review a year if that, as generally speaking, you dont want to make a fuss or be too negative about an establishment. But I had to warn others about the awful attitude of the owner. Not only did he lie to me several times, he also threw his own employees under the bus accusing them of being wrong with what they told me honouring the value of my order Truly abysmal sadly - and a warning for others - with the competition around locally - I would suggest you look elsewhere or suffer the same experience I had

The food is actually alright it's just the chips. Not so nice. Don't know what it is but just not right.

Chips were mostly undercooked, and my cod looked and tasted like it had been sat under the heat lamps all day. Two visits in a row now where we had a bad experience. It is such a pity as you started off so well with fish cooked to order and fantastic chips. Since your refurb, you've lost your way. Come on, pull it together as your local competition is killing you!

I was looking forward for a Sunday night Lamb Dona, I paid for a large dona at £8.50 was not even a small one compare to the cheaper one in Amersham, tiny bit of salad . The chilli sauce was very nice, £8.50 would have been fine if it was a large dona , but it was more a like a small dona. 😏

Delicious, generous portions with substantial salad on the side, served by friendly, engaging staff. Food was quickly delivered to the table. Excellent value. Will definitely return to eat in the restaurant the next time we are in Wendover.

Placed a delivery order for the first time from this takeaway after reading the google reviews. The food arrived super quick and still warm. The portions were huge and the kebabs were delicious!, Doner meat is the best in Aylesbury by far! Both chilli sauce and garlic mayo is on point too! We ordered a doner meat and fries but the fries are not the crispy frozen fries we were expecting, instead they sent proper chip shop chips.This is the place to go to for a kebab from now onwards!

I've just had the best kebab in years. The pitta, the meat and the trimmings were fresh and tasty. The chilli sauce isn't like the usual ring burner but it's a more traditional/authentic sauce whuch i much prefer. I never thought I'd leave a review about a kebab but this was great. Only downside is the portion was too big haha. Great staff, well done 👏

The young girl you had serving the tables tonight 10.03.23 after 7pm, is the epitomy of bad customer service. A bottle of ketchup literally was splashed on my top and my face when I opend it and the girl looked at me like I was an alien. That ketchup stunk! Didn't even cross her little mind to say sorry. I can't give 1 star customer service ! The cod bites are not worth the money, it s literally just fried batter. But the cod it's really nice, i ll stick to that in the future. But hopefully that girl won't be there when I come back! Picture shows just few of the serviettes i had to use to get rid of the stinky ketchup 😑

Brilliant service from start to finish. Have just moved to the area with my family [the twins lol]. Popped in for our first visit after a long day at work. Offered lollipops to the kids very polite service from everyone behind the servery. Made a change having good quality chunks of chicken with a crisp pitta bread. Kids meals of a generous portion. Would 100% recommend and will definitely be back 👍

Had a large chicken sheesh kebab from here for first time and it was amazing. Will defo go back as it’s not far from mine.

This use to be the best in the area but since the refit the portion size is 50%smaller than before it seems they want to get there money back from the refit quick and not building up the business will not be going back

Get many takeaways here as the fish and chips are the best in Aylesbury, but the best things are the Doner Kebabs which are HUGE and absolutely delicious. The owner is an incredibly hard worker and the staff are so friendly and amazing and lovely to think the restaurant will soon be open again to dine in as it is in Wendover. Well done on such a great set of restaurants and a great price too - real value for money!!

BE WARNED! So my Elderly mum and friend called today 22.03.23 to have a treat as they offer a delivery service, the man on the phone took the order and said 5pm for a delivery.. 5pm came and went, so my mum called and a lady answered and said “oh no we’re not delivering today” This is terrible service, why didn’t the man on the phone say anything! Rubbish!

Worst meal that I think I’ve ever had. Firstly, this store appears to be two different stores operating as a fish and chip shop and a kebab shop, and they pick and choose the prices or items on both menus as they wish. I ordered a cheese and rasher burger and a chicken combo burger. After they had finally gotten the order correct after originally messing up and taking an extremely unreasonable amount of time to prepare it, instead spending more time chatting to each other, the food finally arrived. Both burgers were drowning in some undescribed sauce, since it wasn’t on the menu at all. They were both a complete sloppy mess, and tasted disgusting. The chips were at least not bad, however I’ve tasted much better, but they couldn’t even get the curry sauce right, instead serving me a watery, runny excuse of a sauce. Purely from a health perspective I feel as though not disclosing all of the ingredients in the burgers is dangerous due to allergies. Overall then, I feel as though this puts the good old English fish and chips shop to shame, there are extremely decent fish and chip shops out there, this one I would avoid like the plague.

Came in on Saturday evening, expecting it to be rammed. It was fairly busy but nothing major. Ordered 4 adult meals of kebabs and fries. Waited for 50 minutes! I asked the staff if it would be much longer, twice and was met with panicked looks from staff who must have forgotten or misplaced my order. Eventually we received our order (which was read out to us), I counted 7 takeaway boxes before leaving (4x kebabs and 3 portions of fries. Upon going home I discovered that this wasn’t the case - we had been given 3x kebabs, 1x portion of chicken nuggets and 1 portion of chips?????? After waiting nearly an hour for the food I was far too exhausted to drive back up for the remaining portions of fries. Our food was so so, nothing amazing and was cold.

Excellent Food and price point. Service was very chaotic, causing long queues a waiting times. Shop condition was not acceptable following refurbishment. Unfinished customer areas, with potential health and safety risks. I'm sure once better organised, everything will be great and 5 star.

Takeaway only Very generous portions which the curry and mushypeas were of a better standard. The main event the fish is always fresh and delicious.

This shop used to be great but my partner spent 30 mins on a quiet night waiting for a veggie burger and a sausage with chips to share. No burger in the bun!!!!!! And he cant eat the chips as the sausage was laid all over them. I spoke to Ruby who offered a free meal next time. Great but he's hungry now. 😕

Hands down one of the best fish&chips ever! If it’s the batter, the quality fo the fish -which in this type of business is always frozen- or the right oil and frying-temp I do not know, but I could not wait to be home and had to enjoy it right there in the parking sitting in my car… Well done guys!

We love the hospitality and their fish🐟 and chips 🍟 are a hit in our family 👪. Why not add other healthy goodies to your plate as well, talk to the kind attendants and they will set you in the right direction.

I had a hair in my food. It was wiry and dark

Over charged me for a large portion, then served me a small portion. Once I took my food he asked if I wanted sauce, which I said yes, he then tried to charge me again. Update: taste was average at best, did not stand out from another chippy (that's far cheaper) and McDonald's does not charge for ketchup. But ultimately the original problem is you didn't follow the pricing structure on your menu.

Excellent chippy with a good, varied menu including southern fried chicken, pies and even battered halloumi! Always seems to be cooked fresh every time I go, no grease in sight. Portion sizes are ridiculous - we’ve never been able to eat it all, (reverted to small chips between two people and it’s still more than we can eat, not for lack of trying!) Staff are always really friendly too.

We wanted to sit in and have our fish and chips there as we don’t like our fish and chips soggy which typically happens when wrapped and the shop delivered 👌🏾Nice light and crispy batter, freshly done chips! We also had the combo platter and particularly liked the garlic mushrooms

Can't understand the 1 star reviews as when I go to this chippy the fish and chips are marvellous with large portions each cooked really nicely. The chips are especially nice and the fish too. Usually I have haddock but cod is good too. In the last couple of months they have started using styrene boxes to put the fish n chips in together which is not so good environmentally as before it was just the usual paper and portions have become slightly smaller as well. Although the food is still good. The last time I went a few weeks ago I opened the box when I was given it so see only a few chips so felt I had to ask for more. The girl serving me was new so maybe she hadn't grasped what a proper sized portion was. Hopefully she now has. Because of this only 4 stars.

Poor. Cod was undercooked (the batter probably needed an extra couple of minutes) and the chips were cardboard! Try the chippy around the corner near Tesco as far better quality.

Me and my partner had an excellent meal this lunchtime, haddock and chips with mushy peas. The place was very clean and the staff were friendly. I will definitely be coming back soon

I have been into this chippie before when passing but this time i was driving past with my wife and we decided to get fish and chips each for dinner. I got lucky that there were 2 medium cods that had just been cooked with no ones name on, and I left with double fish an chips despite being in the shop for less than a few minutes. My wife and I decided to go for it and eat in the car rather than wait 20 minutes to get home. Like savages we consumed what we both agreed to be the best fish we have had since a trip to worthing over decade beforehand. Crispy batter with great thickness of cod and no running oil . In fact it was so fresh and delicious we have decided to make this place our local...despite another 5 or 6 places being closer. Great prices. Friendly staff. .The place is spotlessly clean and the fish is so tasty! ....did we just get lucky?? I hope not and time will tell !...until next time. !

Been using this take away since it opened and always had excellent food and large portions. Visited twice in the last two weeks. On both occasions chips appeared undercooked and very pale. The fish was grey, slimy and a fraction of the usual size. What's going on down there. Is it under new management, does it have new cooking staff. We won't be going back.
