This bar is one of three pubs that are next door to each other and we were unsure of which one to choose. We were glad that we chose this one. The beer was excellent, it had a very good atmosphere with a good quality sound system and jukebox. It made a good end to our evening.

Was in town for the football so popped in for a couple of pints. Good little pub with an excellent selection of rock songs on the jukebox. Couple of real ales on cask in a well-kept condition. Friendly landlady who was most welcoming. Well worth a visit

If you’re wearing a tracksuit then this isn’t the place for you. Great bar with marvellous live music full of wonderful bikers and metal heads. If you are wearing a tracksuit then you will need to go home and probably best stay there with your TikTok caricature partner.

Nice outdoor seating, inside was a good size, jukebox was available to use, small outdoor area out the back, felt relaxed and my family and I enjoyed our first visit, staff member was a young man who was enthusiastic and had a good positive attitude and was very polite, definitely visit again

This place is famous for its views across the Solent, but only in the summer. In the winter the windows are always steamed up giving you near to no visibility outside. We didn’t eat but the menu looks good and average prices for the area. Drinks were more expensive than the Seaview Hotel just around the corner. +£1 per drink on gin & tonic. It was November on a Friday evening and all tables were reserved. We did sit at one of their best tables for our drink ‘Captain Ted’s Table’ and it was wobbly as hell. Felt like it was going to give way at any time. Come on this is an easy fix.

Good size meals, especially breakfasts. Good cuppa, no frills just true value, friendly staff. I would visit again and recommend this café.

We have been here many times over the years and looked forward to our visit again this year. What a disappointment. We had a cream tea which consisted of a pot of tea, 2 scones, butter, cream and jam. The jam and cream pots were half the size they used to be and the butter was barely there, adequate enough for one scone but certainly not two. The jug of milk supplied did not have enough milk for one cup of tea and we had to ask for extra. I do not drink tea and asked for my tea to be substituted with coffee, big mistake, it was undrinkable. Went we went to pay we were told 'cash only' and I was lucky to find some cash in the bottom of my bag. This should be made clear when you enter and before you order as a lot of people do not carry cash. Our experience was so different to every other visit we wondered if there were 'new owners' but overheard the owner telling other visitors that she had been there 17 years. Sadly will not be returning.

A very peaceful place to stay, in the centre of Newport, conveniently located, close to the bus station and to restaurants. Charming interiors, with a lot of character. Spacious, comfortable and clean room. Breakfast is served, and freshly prepared after the order is made. Hostess is friendly and Staff polite. We will definitely stay there again!
