Maypole farm in Bedford

The main reason we came here was because of the inside children play area. Has a few soft play blocks and busy boards across the wall. We had a table next to it so we could watch the little one play while we ate and they could come back to us. Food was fresh and hot, nothing out of this world but did the job. All staff we came in to contact with were friendly

Great fish and chip lunch on a Friday afternoon. So much food. Tasty and hot. Staff friendly and helpful.

The bar was loud but busy so not much can be done about that, the food was awful. Cold by the time we got to the table, the meat had bits of fat the size of 2p coins while the 2 pieces given being about 2 millimetres thick and tasting like a yoga mat. Wont likely be returning.

Attended the venue whilst away and was pleasantly surprised. Emma behind the bar was brilliant and always made sure we had our drinks full! Made our experience that much better! Will return.

I’ve visited the Maypole many times in the past few years, I’ve come to realize more than anything it’s the staff that keep me going back. Special thanks goes out to Emma AKA whiplash who’s always been polite and had time to treat you like a human being, rare qualities these days but customer service is king.

Came here today with my sister. We had a lovely carvery. The food was very good. Kay was very helpful and accomadating. . I have been a few times now. Very good value for money. The surrounding is very relaxing. I will be coming back.

Went here today with my dad for breakfast for the first time at this restaurant and we were both disappointed breakfast had a good selection but was cold. Inaddition the interior looked well worn. Saw a selection of cakes on display which I thought I'd get one to takeaway. I chose the Mars attack cake on display which I expected them to cut from the cake. However I was given a box from a fridge with it already in, when I opened this just to check I saw that there was no real mars bar on top as the display showed. I then enquired and said there was no mars bar on top of my piece of cake to which the lady replied no that's just for display purposes, despite there being portions missing which I was very disappointed as It costs £5.79 for a small slice. We was going to come back to try the carvery however after this experience we definitely won't. Would not recommend this place stay well clear.

A pleasant atmosphere with a nice enough menu, however they appeared to be short of ales and they were clearly understaffed at the time

My Carvery was delivered with ABSOLUTELY NO MEAT by mistake and the response from the restaurant to a deaf/disabled customer was VERY poor indeed. Ruined my dinner !!!!!!

Was first time visiting for breakfast. 3 adults 2 children. We all had buffet breakfast. One child refused to eat anything. The sausages were hard and the bacon looked raw and covered in white slime. Tinned mushrooms. Rock hard hash browns. The oj and apple juice looked fluorescent and was 3.30 a glass after the first glass was 1.50. Coffee for adults was unlimited. But not for children. Overall a really disappointing experience. Especially considering the place was pretty much empty. Definitely wouldn't rush to go back

We were served by Sam today who is such a credit to the place. He was friendly and so helpful. He made sure we had everything we needed and quickly sorted an issue we had. From the start to finish nothing was to mich for him. He alone would make me want to come back.

Took my daughter and family out for Sunday lunch as a thank you for looking after my dog 🐕 the food was excellent there was six of use and we took one meal home for my daughter's mother in law as she didn't come as she was ill . It was good value for money

Really great food. I keep returning here. I've of the best caverys in the area. Reasonably priced and tasty. I like the amount of choice you get at this cavery. Normally 4 meats and a wide range of vegetables to choose from. The cake slices are massive even better you can take them home to enjoy later. Restaurant is normally very busy and world advice booking to save disappointment. The staff do a brilliant job and keep the place very clean. You don't have to wait long for kitchen food or drinks.

The carvery leaves alot to be desired.. meat is hit or miss. Avoid the beef. The vegetables are either under or overcooked depending what you get. The Yorkshire's tasted burnt but weren't actually burnt... Which was odd. This is my second time here, thought I'd give it another go. Will stick to Tobys.

Mapole Farm has always been a good place to go if you are looking for a Carvery. The food was good and reasonably priced, so I would suggest it is a place to visit for either carvery or normal pub food with some slightly different serving/taste ideas. (and huge cakes/deserts)

Great place to eat. The carvery is great value, but even better during the week. Most of the food I've eaten there has been good and the drinks are good as well.

Very small portions, all deep fat fried, was meant to be 2 chicken breasts, think maybe from a pigeon, deep fat fried but grilled etc. Very disappointing

Breakfast buffet is good value. For less than a tenner you can have tea or coffee or both, plus buffet breakfast with eggs toast beans and the like.

This was a lovely surprise and real pleasure. For some reason I thought it was a Toby Carvery because of thr carvery menu. But it was so different to the usual carvery experience from the minute we set foot into the premises everything was so clean, food was so fresh looking, a really interedt cake and ice cream bar, staff very warm and friendly but also knew their stuff and were helpful and attentive. The carvery was so good, like home cooked food you would make at home, and it was hot!! Nothing worse than just a warm carvery - it needs to be hot!! So thankyou Maypole Farm for the lovely surprise, goegeous food and great service. We will be back! To the company who own Maypole Farm, every member of staff we met on Tuesday 14th January 2025 was an excellent representative of your company and are doing you proud.

I never got to eat here because their website doesn’t take bookings and despite phoning almost everyday for a month, I’m still waiting for someone to pick up the phone. Unless you live in the area and can walk in to book a table, don’t bother using the website or phoning. UPDATED DEC 26th - Following a reply from the establishment, I have provided a screenshot of the response I’m getting no matter when I try to book.

Christmas dinner at maypole. What an amazing experience, really made our Christmas! The staff were incredible, the food (3 course meal) was the best! As it always is the best best roast around! Amazing and thanks for looking after us and making our Christmas awesome. ;-) we look forward to seeing you all again 🤪🤪

Too busy, tried cramming as many people as possible at once. Food was very poor. Luke warm and tasteless. Found blue rubber bits in the mushrooms and when I told staff they were reluctant to do anything about. Personally a waste of money. It's a shame because we like going for family meals.

Typical Farmhouse Inn fare. Food was well cooked and staff friendly, very busy when we attended due to Christmas parties and takeaways but staff had it all in hand and service wasn't compromised.

We did have cold plates for our breakfast which made the food go cold quick, but apart from that, it was lovely. We had a couple of staff approach us whilst having our breakfast and were so friendly and helpful; service was great ! Thank you

Was there for a works lunch food was good BUT ONE SERVER had a really bad attitude and very bad. Would I go back not sure it was my first time.

I ordered a delivery meal for 5 from Maypole Farm, Kempston, via Just Eat, but the Just Eat driver only delivered 1 of the 3 bags, resulting in 3 meals missing!. I called Maypole Farm Restaurant and explained to the manager, and fair dues, he had one of his staff deliver the missing meals to me within 15 mins, even though they had already given all 5 meals to the Just Eat driver. Didn't get their names, but thank you Maypole Farm, Kempston, for saving our Sunday, and thanks for the free cakes too!. Much appreciated. Martin

If your thinking about having a roast dinner from here go for it. I can’t believe how much you get I couldn’t eat it all. Arrived hot lots of gravy as I asked for extra, big chunks of beef loads of potatoes and veg and extra tray for the Yorkshires. 10 out of 10 for a roast delivery. Will definitely be using again.

Maypole farm does the best roast dinner ever and always at least 5 vegetables absolutely love it.

The only aspect of our visit I found disappointing is the service at the bar. We ordered wine for the table and given 4 wine glasses with grubby finger prints on the outside and one glass had the remains of lipstick on the rim! I Tried to have them swapped over for clean glasses but the girl behind the bar just rinsed them, dried them with blue roll and handed them back to me Tbh they didn't look any cleaner. I then experienced an 8 minute wait to be served at the bar for a glass of coke for a member of the dinner part I was with, whilst the (same) girl who had seen me... silently walked off, to fill an ice bucket! So by the time I got back to my seat, my meal was partially cold...which was annoying. That aside... carvery was fantastic!

Today, 03/12/24, I visited the Maypole with a work colleague for breakfast and was served by Kay and Heather. It would appear that nothing was too much for them to ensure that our breakfast experience was a good one, and that, it certainly was. The food was great, the atmosphere was great, and the customer service was even greater! Well done Kay and Heather, you're a credit to the company, so please keep up the great work. I went maypole yesterday we spent £100 pounds no one liked their food 5 of us went my partner got food poisoning and has been really ill and the chef burnt my sons pizza so it came last! My sisters steak tasted like dog food and my rice was cold overall worst food experience!!!

Wish there were more low fat options available. 99% of meals are over 1000 calories. Other than that no complaints. Everyone enjoyed their food

Had the carvery, was served by Chris.. The food was lovely and hot and fresh. Great atmosphere, had a nice time. Value for money definitely, will be coming back. Feels like it's got even better than I last visited.

They say a picture tells a story…..a takeaway carvery that was delivered cold, was inedible & went in the bin. 13.10.24 Messages were also ignored by the maypole team, such a shame it’s really going down hill.

I have had roast dinner from other places but Maypole is the best ever at least 5 vegetables lovely roast potatoes mash boiled excellent quality fresh very enjoyable.

Very good restaurant, good food, friendly manager. Would have given 5 stars, but had to deduct 1, as this place is let down by Heather. She is so welcoming, joyful and very friendly. Happy Heather is what every restaurant needs. All the staff seem thrilled to be working under her too! If only my wife was this happy.

We were a party of 4 and ordered the all day breakfast and 3 carverys. Food was tasty and cooked well. Nice clean place with a nice ambience. Service was fine, staff were nice. A couple quirky habits they seem to have in there that I've never seen anywhere else are you queue for drinks at the bar in a straight line like you do in Tesco etc. What is the point of that when the bar is a traditional shape where you expect to wait along the length of it? Likewise the bar staff see you waiting for service at one end of the bar and instead of coming over to you like a regular bar, they call you over to the furtherest away till on the other side of the bar! What if you are disabled? Again, it's like you'd get in a supermarket, why? It's so annoying and unnecessary in a bar environment . Drink prices have jumped since I last visited. £14.00 odd for 2 pints of lager and 2 regular diet Cokes! We all enjoyed the day though and we will be back in the future.

We had a meal here tonight and we had 2 fish and chips, 2 kids meals, 1 carvery and 1 pasta with a free scoop of chocolate ice cream. Everything was faultless and our waiter Sam checked everything was OK. The service was fantastic and so quick and we all enjoyed our meals. The value for money was brilliant and we would definitely recommend to others. We will definitely be returning

Myself and others came to have some lunch. We had to pay for everything separately and MOLLY was FANTASTIC. Very patient and met all the needs. She deserves a holiday with how hard she is working. Mabey I'm biased because my names Mollie too.

Decent carvery. It's a busy place but never takes long to be eating. Good range on the carvery with a good dining menu too. The cakes are awesome, massive portions though!! Definitely recommend the Maypole
