Mayflower in Redditch

Been using the mayflower for 5years was always good however tonight it was disgusting chips all eyes and soggy prawn satay 5prawns just inedible,what's happened to this place???

AVOID the food was horrible took some of it back got a partial refund the rest was overcooked tasteless, no sauce in food, red Thai curry was dry and brown yuck, the whole lot went in the bin. Do not go to this takeaway there is better elsewhere in Redditch.

The best Chinese food, never disappoints! Often very busy but honestly worth the wait! Wouldn’t go anywhere else

We've never had a bad meal from the Mayflower. This last time, we opted for delivery (we usually collect), and the food was dropped off 20 minutes later by a polite and friendly delivery driver. We especially enjoy their Singapore Chow Mein!

This has been our favourite family takeaway for many years, however since new ownership a couple of months ago, they no longer offer a delivery service. Not letting this put us off, we went to collect, only to be welcomed with a teenage boy attempting to take orders and answer the phone....it was chaos!! The adults in the kitchen speak no English at all, and I felt very sorry for this boy having to suffer the brunt of the unhappy customers. We collected our food and came home only to discover it was incorrect. Phoned to report this through to them and was told it would be a 40 minute wait. Not impressed. We gave it a second chance tonight, and although there is now a young lady behind the counter, she is babysitting 2 young children behind the counter & clearly not paying attention as our order was wrong yet again! Food was also cold. Avoid avoid avoid

Went sat evening and ordered there. Had to wait 30 mins. Was really busy. Young lad taking orders on phone, in person and giving out food. Despite it being really busy he stayed polite and cheery even though stressed. Food was hot and tasty, free prawn crackers too. Unfortunately no delivery service this night

Put on hild and forgotten about so walked up. He then answered the phone and put them on hold to serve the guy infront of me, then served him went back to the phone while im waiting, he finished his call, but still ignored me and answered another call. This time no hold just took the order while i was made to wait again. Awful service im only here as they take card!!.

never again. Special curry nice rice plenty of meat, but curry sauce bland, like a gravy that's all. not even any heat in sauce

ordered egg fried rice and special curry. Best fried rice ever, loads of good meat in the curry. ONLY ONE PROBLEM it wasn't a curry, the sauce was bland and tasteless. I had to re-heat it and had my own curry powder.

Shan't be using again, started off ok but then on two other visits food not cooked properly, chicken balls with so much batter on them and so overcooked were inedible, i called to tell them and my only answer was, i'll tell the chef. Sorry not good enough

Eaten here before and it’s been hit and miss. Decided to give it another go and food was horrible. Phoned to tell them in a polite way that we have had good meals before but this occasion was not good and we hadn’t eaten it as chicken tasted old and rubbery and we could not eat it. He just said thanks for the feedback! Clearly didn’t care so will take my custom elsewhere.

Not great. Chicken really chewy and meal didn’t feel fresh. Rice all stuck together. Usually use another takeaway but wanted a change. Will go back to my usual as was not impressed at all.

Nice surprise with the fella arriving early, food portions were mahoosive & piping hot, the mush fr rice was a little bland compared to others I've had but still yummy. Price was pretty reasonsble so will definitely be ordering from them again

First time in 30 yrs as now moved back into area, sweet and sour chicken balls with chips, what a disappointment chicken a congealed goop in batter probably delivered frozen and heated up, chips absolutely fine but why o why can't these take-a-ways prepare their own food was just the same at Batchley take -a -way by pool utter goo

Would of been great but I asked NO ONIONS and it came with ONIONS so sad I didn't eat had to give it away

everything was fine apart from the chips , they did replace them but still not good. must have changed chef as usually lovely there

Had several different meals from here as a takeaway tonight, all of the food was bland and insipid. I would not recommend this takeaway to anyone. Avoid at all costs!

Without a doubt the best chinese around.... food is always hot and delicious and collection/delivery times are always amazing.

This is now my go to Chinese take away. I have never had a bad meal or wrong order from there. The food is delicious and hot and if your collecting, it only take about 20mins for the food to be ready. I love the fact you get a free bag of prawn crackers too!

food was terrible - even the chips were cold and wet from where they’d been put in a bag piping hot and left to cool down before they got to us. sesame prawn toast was also soggy and the chicken on the chicken satay was very poor quality. very disappointing as we’ve eaten from here many times.

Terrible delivery service takes 2 hours for delivery on a normal weekday. Customer service not good either.

Have ordered before but was regularly using another Chinese and fancied a change. Ordered and accidently checked box for a time 80 mins away!! Contacted restaurant, very polite response agreeing they will begin to cook it immediately. A nice text to confirm this. Food was delivered within 25 mins. Food was excellent and plenty of it. Service second to none. Great value for money too. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!

Just made 2 mistakes ordering Chinese takeaway I won't be doing again. 1, ordering from the Mayflower in Crabbs Cross, Evesham Road and 2, using the Just Eat app to order food and complain about the order. Firstly the food order was as follows.

We had a small taste of less than half the order and it was terrible. I took it all back and was told they would not authorise a refund of anything we tried. How are you supposed to know if something is bad if you don't taste it. Out of any order over £35 we are refunded £18.70 . The just eat service agent was also less than helpful as he couldn't seem to grasp the Mayflower were only refunding for the stuff we DIDN'T try. Definitely will NOT be using either just eat or the Mayflower again. Hot and sour soup only tasted of salt. Ribs were meatless and tough. Red curry only tasted of spicy water and the kung po was bland.

This is a small Chinese takeaway on the Evesham Road. I have always been surprised at how good the foodie. If you have a set meal there is always lots and lots of food. I would like to give it 5 but it does not do a rendan. Give it a try.

ordered for 6:30, 6:55 was the confirmed time yet it arrived at 5:40? really need to sort your delivery timing out. very poor

Have recently tried Mayflower and can't fault the chicken chow meins they do with sauce. Car park is next to it which can be full, even in the evenings.

Save your money. Sauce was very thin and the meal was tasteless

First time ordering from here and I was not disappointed. great value starter and beautiful salt and pepper prawns.

Awful experience. The restaurant took 20 minutes to confirm my order. I was then told I would be waiting an hour and a half on a 3 item order. The food was then over an hour ago until I rang up and asked about it, I was then told that the food would be made for me and sent out which then took a further 40 minutes! Three hours after ordering I finally received my food and it was warm at most. Very disappointed as I have ordered from here before and it has been lovely!

The Mayflower added 45 mins to the order for delivery despite being 10 mins from my house. So when I finally got through to them on the phone I arranged a collection which would be 25 mins. Food was ready when we got there but they wouldn't deduct the £2 delivery charge saying it was because we ordered through JustEat. Add to all the hassle the chicken curry was bland and tasteless, the egg fried rice looked and tasted like it had been reheated and the Chilli spicy chicken was dry. We won't be ordering from The Mayflower again.

Ordered at 7pm. Was told it would be with us for 7.45. They then updated the time to 8.05 and it didn't arrive until 8.40. But the restaurant marked it as delivered at 8.05. Not very honest!

I have used mayflower Chinese many times before and never had a problem but today is a different matter we ordered a Thai green curry which came and as nicely as I can put it looked like snot!!! So we rang them to get a replacement where they told us it will be with us in 5 minutes,so I thought brilliant, 10 minutes later they ring us back to say we haven't collected it!!!! And my partner replied saying I thought your driver was bringing it to us they replied it is going to take another 15 minutes for them to deliver but meanwhile all our other food is going so I asked for a refund which they refused so I went up with the food and showed them, where I demanded a refunded again which again they refused so I'm telling u people do not use this Chinese the food on a regular basis maybe good but the customer service is a disgrace one unhappy customer and because of this I will never use them again.

Food is always amazing and portion sizes are incredible for price compared to all other Chinese takeaways, delivery was really quick (an hour quicker than expected) and staff are always friendly

Ordered vegetarian food but got meat, so not happy about that but they did resend me the correct food in a short time after i called them.

We thought we'd order an early takeaway treat so our little girl could enjoy it with us and it took over 1 hour 40mins to come so was really late by the time we got the food. Very disappointed thought it would of been quiet at 5.45 when we ordered. The food itself was actually tasty but the delivery time let them down.

As usual a first class service all around. Order received very warm, quickly and tasty. It could not be bettered in any other establishment.

Siempre a la orden, así que cook lleva alrededor de media hora, pero la comida es estupenda, no grasienta, buenas porciones y dondequiera que conseguir sus langostinos de son excepcionales! I love the food from these guys. It always arrives hot and is always so tasty but their delivery times are getting longer and longer. 1 hour 40 mins this time. Over an hour the previous time. It's just too long to wait even though the food is delicious. Will give them one last chance. Thanks for fantastic food though guys despite the long wait

I ordered food for 19.30 & it was delivered at 18.30 an hour early luckily someone was home but I did want it for 19.30 as 1 of my family members wasn't home till then so had 2 have theirs cold

Once again, superb food. Excellent value and a must for all chinese cuisine connoisseurs!! Sweat and Sour chicken... simply to die for! :-)
