I don't give 1* Reviews lightly but was so disappointed and upset. Firstly, it's grossly over-priced! A small (330ml) Thai beer is over £5! The coke is served in a child's glass (200ml) and the costly egg fried rice accompaniment is a teeny portion of around 4 tablespoons! Finally, I ordered a spicy Thai dish for my Thai visitor and specifically requested "as spicy as possible". A dish was delivered resembling nothing like as displayed (or ordered) and was as spicy as a flat Coke! I politely reported the matter and the server just brushed it off with no attempt to rectify or explain. That's £240 I won't get back leaving hungry, broke and feeling disappointed!!

Nine of us ate here and had a most enjoyable evening. The staff were very welcoming and the food was well prepared. Some found the curry, labelled with one chilli quite hot so wondered if the labelling was mixed up. Red curry had one chilli and green curry two? The sharing plates to start were excellent. Thank you

Ordered from here as take away, and been to sit in several times, always amazing food, the Thai green curry is always slightly different, and i love that as you know it's being freshly made, and every time it's been amazing, nothing has disappointed me yet, when sitting in some food may take longer, but i'd rather wait and have it freshly cooked any day of the week!

We eat here regularly and when we don’t eat in, we get a takeaway. The food is THE best Thai/Chinese for miles around. My favourite dish is the mela dry pot - delicious! The food is cooked fresh, so it does say on the menu that there may be a wait and that they won’t be rushed. Fine by us; at least we know it’s freshly cooked. The place is spotlessly clean, and the staff are friendly and polite. One of our favourites in Devizes, if not the best.

An Asian restaurant offering a mix of Thai and Chinese dishes. Food quality was really good and portion sizes quite reasonable. Prices are in the mid-range. Service was very friendly.

People are often fast to criticise but so slow to congratulate. After this evenings visit I would have no doubt in highly recommending the Mayflower Devizes for anyone wanting a very pleasant evening out, in a truly relaxing atmosphere, able to enjoy their meal with the feeling of being rushed along by staff. Receiving a most pleasant greeting upon arrival, after being seated our drinks order were immediately taken and delivered without delay or fuss. The restaurant was reasonably busy for a Tuesday, which to us was a good sign as it is clearly a popular eatery. We were given ample time to pursue and discuss the menu, with appetisers brought to keep us going whilst our food was being freshly cooked. The starters all arrived promptly and we found them excellent both in quality and presentation. The waitress, most pleasant, even remembered to ask if we needed more drinks. Clearly an eye for detail that was much appreciated. There was no rush between courses, and we were given ample time to enjoy & dogest our food with light conversation, before the empty plates were cleared. Always smiling our main courses, again well presented and of high quality, were delivered by the same waitress who pleasant manor and welcoming approach certainly made us feel at home. Nigel was particularly attentive, making sure everything was to our satisfaction, and again giving us the opportunity to top up drinks on this rather warm evening. Given the high quality of the food, the level of service and the amount of drinks that were had ordered, we were surprised by the relatively low cost of the entire evening. A FIVE STAR experience if every there was one and well worth a visit. I know we will be returning soon even though it is almost a 50 mile round trip.

My daughter and I have talked for a long time about giving the mayflower a go- and finally we did. The food is ok. The customer service also. But really nothing special and actually a little aloof. The portions again adequate. The ambience in the restaurant is non existent. No nice music. Door wide open as clearly kitchen staff getting hot- but I ended up freezing and came down with a nasty cold in the days afterwards. No silly litlle niceties that you get from other local restaurants- after dinner mints for example- hell I even get them at the cheap buffet in swindon! However the price tag for the food and eperience is not exactly average. Too expensive for mediocre food and pretty depressing dining experience. Have tried it, but will now stick to my takeaways with free prawn crackers and cheerful service in furture.

We were welcomed by the owner who seated us and took our order for drinks and starters giving us time to relax and choose our mains. Probably the best Thai we had eaten, lovely clean restaurant, friendly staff and gorgeous food.

After moving to this part of Wiltshire we have searched for a Chinese/ Thai takeaway that serves really good food. At the end of the day eating out or takeaway is a treat and so if your going to treat yourself it should be really good. Mayflower is exceptional. The people I speak to in there are always accomodating and friendly, they are also honest and hardworking. The food is really really good, the kitchen staff are a credit you really must try their Thai food it's great, my personal favourite is the Thai chilli basil.. I've seen comments about the price changes in the menu. There is big signs everywhere explaining prices have changed. In the last 2years of pretty well reported mega inflation and supply challenges how is this a surprise to anyone? Also I'd rather they didn't throw away a load of printed menus and just explained that the prices had changed, as this is far less wasteful and environmentally considerate approach. Plus in the modern digital age why not just look at the online menu? Both me and my partner, and my kids have eaten here during the day and it is now our regular go to place for takeaway. I spent time working in South Malaysia, and have eaten at oriental restaurants all over the world, and have family friends who own quite prestigious Chinese restaurants in Soho, Cheltenham, and Cirencester and I would be more than happy to say that the food is fresh authentic and excellent at this restaurant...and both me and my Mrs have tried every other takeaway in Devizes and Melksham, and this is our regular go to for Thai and Chinese food. Finally the staff I speak to and the owners I have spoken to at this place are amazingly friendly and helpful. A genuinely great dining experience in Devizes whether takeaway or eating in.

Great overall experience. We booked as it’s always busy and got a great welcome. Lovely food, great veggie and gluten free options with handling of GF done properly. Mixed platter starter was excellent. We will be back for family meal next month.

New to the area and went to Chans one Sat evening. The store is just off the roundabout opposite to the Amesbury town centre on the right hand side along with other stores. The interior is clean and welcoming. You can see into the kitchen which is always interesting. The lady serving was helpful and happy. The food was ready quickly. The food when we ate at home was still hot, fresh and excellent quality. Would highly recommend Chans - we will be back for sure.

I recently discovered that ANYTHING on their menu can be ordered for takeaway if the have it in stock… having had a rough week, my wife and I were craving steak, one call later I was given a time to collect 2 very large portions and a separate salad between us (hot with the hot, cold salad by itself). The steaks were rare as requested, hot and delicious as was everything else… highly recommended for take out!

Some classic British dishes on the menu, helpful service, and the bar (which is associated with the hotel) has plenty of beers, lagers and wine. Lots of room between the 4 to 5 tables in the main dining area, although I suspect you could eat at tables by the bar. Meanwhile, you’re in a very old stylist building within the Salisbury city centre.
