Caffè Nero in Wiltshire

Best flat white I've ever had from this Nero in Chippenham. The Honduras blend is out of this world good

I visited a couple of weeks ago and had to give one star as the food I was waiting for hadn't been heated up and my query was ignored. I visited again today and a similar thing happened. It was compounded by a person behind me in the queue getting their food before me. The same member of staff was involved. I visit Nero cafés quite often and I am sorry to say that the standard of service in this one falls far below what I would expect of this chain.

Usual Nero quality but with no queue in the morning and loads of seating, and I mean loads.

Visited today and it was VERY dirty! Needs a deep clean I will not be going back again.

Busy Saturday morning. The barista this morning was really impressive, working at great speed, very friendly and seemingly unfazed by the queue. She was still upselling, offering their new coffee blend and wishing everyone a lovely day. You may think this should be a given, but it simply isn't anymore, so we'll done! Really enjoyed our coffees this morning.

Grubby and tired. Coffee average milky chain store rubbish. Cold and unwelcoming, I couldn't wait to get out!

I love cafe Nero but its standards are seriously slipping. The staff are lovely, cakes, drinks etc very good but please clean the tables, sweep the floor - it’s just beginning to look so tatty! I know it doesn’t help when lazy people don’t put their cups, trays etc away but you’ll never educate lazy people so you’re going to have to do it yourselves.

Come here unfortunately most Sundays as my partner prefers it to coffee number 1. The service is diabolical and I've never seen such slow staff. A 25 minute wait to be served is standard. The black haired lady who I assume is in charge of the trainees just disappears and leaves the poor trainer girl to do everything. Total shambles every weekend.

I’ve been using Caffè Nero for many years and have of late noticed that it’s looking tired. The kitchen/preparation area is very grubby and needs a deep clean. In fact the whole cafe needs a thorough clean as the tables, chairs, and floor are dirty and greasy. Not the fault of the serving staff serving as they are doing their jobs and there is not enough of them to do everything but the manager does need to bring on some dedicated cleaners.

Consistently good! The staff are always friendly and welcoming even when it's busy. Appreciate having a dog friendly coffee spot :)

It's fairly unremarkable for a Café Nero, but that's not a terribly bad thing. It mostly functions as a public space for shelter, toilets and other facilities that has a relatively low cost of entry and, crucially, isn't a fracking Wetherspoons.

The only thing good about this place is the coffee! The service is terrible, tables are not cleared, the place is filthy and full of dogs. Would not recommend!

Drinks and food are good as always but none of the staff seem to like cleaning the tables. Lately there's always empty cups, dishes and litter left to sit on dirty tables for longer than necessary. Shame because it's been a favourite of mine. I don't go there as often as I used to.

Nice surroundings but the guy who served me (whilst drinking a drink himself - though TBF it was very hot weather) wouldn't let me have a ceramic cup and instead insisted I had to drink out of a paper cup because he would shortly be on his own and there was 800 people in. (Curiously I could only see ten others and two of them were staff). For me, it's the worst service I can remember from a coffee shop in a long time. There are other coffee shops nearby with much better service.

Just popped in for coffee as I had 30 mins to spare...I love Nero's coffee. The place was buzzing with lively conversations and the excited squeals of toddlers, joyful and mostly non-intrusive. The barista's were busy but very efficient and friendly with it, providing service with a smile and a few chatty words. Tables were cleared as soon as they became empty and soon filled up again, oh, and the facilities were immaculate.

Always good service, and the cakes are nice. The toilets always need attention. They Need a refurb as starting to smell.

Drink was nice, but tables were piled up with dirty cups and plates, while staff were chatting behind the counter. Had to use a chair with tray to put my drink on.

Nice cafe in Chippenham. Bit quiet when we got there as it was near the end of the day. I say quiet, but the two young men that were working were having a very loud conversation about this, that and the other. I hope they have a good evening!😆

Iys a lovely, warm, busy place, happily situated to pop in for coffee/tea or just a cold drink and a rest! I always think it's too busy to find a seat, but no, a quick scan around the room and there's always somewhere to sit...

A typical Nero's. Plenty of seating and because it's on a corner, a good number of window seats. It does get very busy at times though

Best coffee place in Chippenham. Coffee always just tastes better from here compared to other chains available. The guy with the dark hair and raspy voice (never caught his name) makes the best coffee ever. Even though it is very loud in store I never have to repeat my order back which shows focus. The team also seem to genuinely enjoy their job also which I think makes a difference to the customer service provided. Literally don’t go anywhere else for coffee when in Chippenham anymore.

Typical high street cafe Nero. I think it is overpriced, particularly for the food items. This is well used and has its regulars, but it could be tidier. Take it or leave it.

Having spent many a times drinking my days away in Nero I feel the necessity to have a little dig at the quality of one the coffee makers and the the cleanliness of this Chippenham coffee house It’s all to well trying to look smart in making a coffee under 30 seconds but if the milk is scalded and doesn’t taste any good then what’s the point …. The point I’m trying to put across is a little more due care and attention it’s not all about chucking something into a cup And hoping for the best Please can Caffè Nero head office keep an eye on this establishment as I might just have to stop drinking here altogether

Enjoyed a lovely hot chocolate and mince pie to get into the Christmas spirit

I like to go there every Friday afternoon to enjoy a nice cup of tea and piece of cake and usually staff is friendly, but today for some reason there was another lady at the till and she was the most unfriendly employee I had to deal with: unsmiling, she really seemed to be unhappy to be here and she gave me no fork nor spoon and didn't ask if I wanted a mug or a teapot, just served a small cup.So disappointing as I'm always looking forward to this moment of the week! Please give work to people who deserve it!

The coffee is rubbish and expensive the cake are a moth full each if that and are very expensive and not worth it. Over all don't go there.

Normally very good but today was poor! Not enough staff, no tables cleared or cleaned. No cutlery and poor choice of food. Disappointing!!

The last 4 or more times I have been in my order has been wrong, sometimes subtly and other times totally out. I have ordered via the app and often it gets forgotten about or takes 30+ minutes rather than the 5 quoted in the app. So disappointing as this use to be one of the best coffees in town. Hopefully it’s just new staff and once trained it will return to making great coffee.

Mmmh where can I start drinks coffee wise was ok I ordered a caramel frapachino it was watery tasteless I regretted ordering it used to Costa ones they are top of the level but hey customer service was brilliant bit slow but friendly.

The Service is always good, but on this occasion the coffee was bitter. Also the tables needed a good wipe down. You can do better Caffe Nero

My hot chocolate was made almost entirely of milk. I returned it, not asking for a refund or replacement, simply saying that it was almost entirely milk. The manager came over to tick me off about how I complained. He said I should have queued to return the drink instead of putting on the counter !! He wasn't present when I made my mild complaint, and was quite aggressive, not even mentioning the poor drink I was served. I wouldn't have written this if he hadn't been so unpleasant. Avoid.

Good cup of coffee, just what was needed

3 people behind counter, 1 doing any work, the other two talking amont themselves (did not appear work related) while I waited. No acknowledgment. When I mentioned it does not look good in front of customers, I got a look of contempt from the girl. No apologies for keeping me waiting. As I walked out I noticed the tables that need clearing.

My go-to cafe in Chippenham! (After trying them all). I love this place, the staff are always happy and friendly and remember my order. They’re never once gotten my order wrong even though it’s not a easy one. The food is delicious and they have a great range of vegan options. I really recommend the vegan cheesecake and sausage roll (especially when warm). I was delighted to see they’re working with ‘This’ to create a vegan panini! They’re mock chicken is delicious - although I think the panini could use some mayo or more sauce to make it less dry. Overall a really great cafe and I highly recommend!

I stopped in for about an hour late afternoon before an appointment at Specsavers next door. Service was quick and I enjoyed my coffees. The barrista seemed slightly distracted and it felt like they did the bare minimum, which was a shame. Otherwise a pleasant experience.

Love it heee, sat outside watching the world go around. Ppl watching. I take my dad here as we use to bring mum. Easy wheelchair access and a bigger than normal disabled loo. Could do with a paint though and updating. The staff you can have a laugh with. I laugh at the man utd and Liverpool staff members. Haha.

Very dirty, needs a complete makeover and deep clean.

As good as Chippenham gets to be honest, it’s one of my favourite of the chains but this is one of the sloppier of their locations. The person who took my order repeated the same questions four or five times. However, this was made up for with a stunning hot chocolate, one of the best coffee chain hot chocolates I’ve ever had and my permanent favourite, it’s richer and thicker than anywhere else.

Clean lots of seating is close to car park and shopping precinct the road is closed off at 9am so is very safe for children to walk around Friday is market day so can get busy

Nice coffee in centre. Lots of room. The person serving needs some new rubber gloves though as they were very worn and his fingers were exposed.

My favourite of the main brand outlets, excellent coffee and high quality caramel chocolate cake. Busy but seating available. Good opportunity to catch up with family in unhurried surroundings. My daughter very happy with the wide vegan selection

Terrible attitude from female barista. Not a regular nor will I will be. A little politeness goes along way.

Went on a Sunday lunchtime. There was a long queue inside and waited for quite a long time for the queue to go down and be served. There seemed to only be 3 staff working. 1 clearing tables and 2 at the counter. The woman behind the counter looked like she wished she didn't work there. No sense of urgency about serving customers given the long queue. She worked slowly and looked peed off. It might have been a bad day for her but was frustrating as a customer. She got our order wrong but decided to keep it rather than wait for another coffee to be made. Need mire staff and maybe be a little quicker. No apologies for the long wait either. Coffee and food was fine but just took so long.

FAR too much trouble for the server to actually take my order and make up the order!! She is obviously not happy in her work place, won't be going back where we are not welcome
