Pretty poor service on delivery. Previously had great food in the restaurant. Ordered a delivery that took two hours to arrive and was cold. Called and complained and was told we would gain a some refund. Still waiting for the refund and the restaurant have blocked / band us… I genuinely would not recommend to anyone, which given our previous experience of eating in the restaurant is a shame

Unusual in that they offer 2 menus: 1. Chinese, Chinese menu 2. English, Chinese menu They'll explain.... Many Chinese people there enjoying the great food. Keen awareness of potential food allergies. Great service... Decor would benefit from investment.

Fantastic service and very nice food. Lot's of very unusual and traditional Chinese dishes that you don't find in other establishments. We were really well looked after throughout the meal and were given advice on food to try based on our favourite ingredients.

Nice to be able to have Chinese hotpot in the cold weather and rainy day! Friendly servers also! Love!

I got a collection take away. I have lived in this town for over 30 years and I have never tried mayflower. When I collected the food the staff were very welcoming with the food being ready on time. When I plated it up at home first thing I noticed was how nice the rice looked, can’t describe it but looked clean and just nice, same with the chips they were fresh and not stale. The rest of the food was the same. Looking forward to sitting in next time. Think this will be my go to Chinese takeaway.

I went to have dinner and it was a nice experience there. The atmosphere was so good, it was really calm quiet and so enjoyable. Customer service was so great as the food was. She asked for my interest and taste, suggesting what menu i might like. The food really tastes good.

Tastiest Authentic Chinese I have had in a long time. Being from the Caribbean, used to spicy / chilli- hot foods. Mayflower didn’t disappoint. Staff were super friendly & will definitely return for the amazing cuisines. 👍🏼

When we went there wasn't a lot of customers at the time as it was still early but the members of the restaurant were friendly and easy going. The food were amazing, things I never tried before, definitely want to come back and try other dishes.

It’s a lovely restaurant owned by a Chinese family. They serve authentic Sichuan and Hunan food like hotpot, stir fry any meats with chill. if you like spicy, do not miss the chance to come in. They also serve lots of non-spicy food from Guangdong Province and other parts of China. Besides that, their localised menu is also good, recommend Mix Hors d’oeuveres, bbq rips, and crispy duck.

Nice Chinese food reasonably priced

Absolutely delicious authentic Chinese food. I’ve ordered an egg drop soup with seaweed which was aromatic and full of nutrients, as well as the tripe slices sautéed with coriander, from the new, more authentic menu. That dish was amazing. The tripe was tender, it was cooked with coriander stems which have more flavor and aroma than the leaves and it was very nicely presented. I’m happy I’m spending few days more in Northampton, because for sure I will be back. The service was very polite and the restaurant is conveniently located in the town center, just opposite to the Ibis hotel.

Very friendly staff and great food. Try their wonderful Sichuan hotpot. If you are unfamiliar with Sichuan style cooking this will definitely impress.

The food was not nice...greasy and without flavour.

It's a stupid restaurant. The three of us ordered three bowls of rice, but the boss only served us one bowl. We felt something was wrong, so we asked twice, but the boss lied and said it was just for three people. If it weren't for the fact that our classmates were also eating in this restaurant that day, we wouldn't have known it. They also ordered 3 bowls of rice and only three bowls were served. We ordered 3 bowls and only one was served. And the most disgusting thing is that a bowl of rice was served and we were charged for 3 bowls. The menu said 2.8 pounds, but we found out that we were charged 9 pounds. Three bowls of rice were 8.4 pounds. You just charged 9 pounds. Good guy, wipe out the zero. The more you apply, the more you apply? Then they only gave us a bowl of rice. The rice is so chewy, sister? Fortunately, we asked our classmates, otherwise we would not have known that we had been cheated. The quality of the fish used for grilling fish was also very poor and the quantity was not large. We cannot pay by credit card. We paid with WeChat and received an exchange rate of 8.6. How could you be so embarrassed to evade tax and still have such a high exchange rate? He said it’s better to use cash. It’s so funny. The Chinese are really trying to trick the Chinese.

It was fair. Only drawback was when it came to paying, we were informed that it was cash only which is strange as visa sign on the window. I prefer takeaway as originally ordered online before my visit & payed with card.

Authentic Chinese food. The duck was a little smelly, which put me off. The quantity is large. The place was relatively cold, I don't think they switched on their heating.

Absolutely love this place, our waiter, a lovely young gentleman is by far the best and most polite young man I've ever been served by in any restaurant I've been to. The food is wonderful, especially if you try food from their authentic Chinese menu, Absolutely faultless, won't go anywhere else for a meal out since going here

Amazing food, me and my partner both ate for less than 30 quid, they were happy to adapt a dish to make sure it included no gluten or peanut for us, very much appreciated and we are going to recommend this place to anyone who wants a place to eat some lovely oriental food, definitely a 5* experience would eat there again

This is easily the best Chinese restaurant in town lovely food and great service. We booked a birthday party for 22 people and couldn't have been looked after better. Great food, great people, great restaurant.

My partner and I had dinner in this restaurant. It was clean and quiet, the server was so polite and kind. The meals have good portions and it’s very tasty as well! One of the best legitimate chinese food that I’ve eaten here in the UK. It so happens that the owner’s kid was celebrating his bday so they gave us 2 slices of their bday cake. They were so lovely the whole time. Pricing is good and reasonable. Will definitely come back.

Chinese Food Restaurant in Northampton, where the place is very clean & has a typical Chinese oriental feel. The food menu is very diverse & tastes very delicious. The service is very good & friendly. Sorry, we forgot to take photos of the food we ordered, because we couldn't wait to eat it right away.

Such wonderful service. I miss heard the opening time and went when they were closing though I apologised and said we could leave they still let us come in and eat. The food, customer service was wonderful and I would definitely make the journey to Northampton for this restaurant again

It used to be better!! Have always been coming or ordering takeaway when coming to Northampton however was very disappointed with last order. The calamari was not light and airy as used to but very oily and not much flavour at all! Noodles also very plain, very disappointing!

Ordered the beef chowmien for takeaway. It was one of the best fried noodle I have ever had! Noodle was the perfect size. Beef was super juicy, tender and well marinated, onion and taugeh is sweet as well. Would definitely go back again to try other dishes in their menu. friendly and warm customer service too.

Me and my friend went later in the evening for a sit down meal, I ordered a chicken chow main which I couldn’t fault however my friend ordered fried oysters, he had two of them which were okay not overly nice, he then bit into the third one and it was undercooked and he gagged from the taste. The main problem was we told this to the owner of the abolishment and she was frankly rude and not giving proper customer service at all. We then protested that we didn’t want to pay for something that was so revolting and after arguing with her she gave us 10% off. I will not be returning to this dive whole and I would advise to not go there.

I have to say it's a pleasant surprise to find a relatively authentic Chinese food in Northampton. The roast duck and Taufu is considered to be central Londons standard. The portions were good sized as well. Will definitely come again.

Food was absolutely delicious, we went on a weekday so it was really nice and quiet. Lots of options and we were not dissapointed. Loved it.

I had a takeawy from this retaurant on 16/12/2021, it was ready in 12 mins! The food was a good portion, had bags of flavour, i cant complain, all-all, i will order again, i recommed this restaurant

We were trying to find a place to eat and we decided to give a chance to the store, which was empty. The staff was so kind and approachable. Took our orders patiently and the food came fast. The food was really great and we were very satisfied. I would recommend!

I ordered on the website but I didn't realize they were closed so my food never arrived. First thing the next morning I received a call from the restaurant who were very apologetic. They issued a refund and offered to deliver the order that evening for free! I asked for delivery at 8pm but at 7.45 I had only just finished work. I called the restaurant but the driver had already left. I got home at 8.30 and the driver was sitting outside waiting for me! They went above and beyond and the food was delicious. Thank you ☺️

Usually good but not great tonight. Ordered chow Mein, noodles tasted overcooked and were like rice noodle, chicken felt slimy (slipped out of fingers when picked up) and was a strange pale white/grey colour. Chips were like some leftover kfc fries.

My friends and I are very upset at the service.After ordering, we had to wait an hour and a half for our food, and any queries about the waiting time were not answered. The portion sizes were also small and they kept forgetting about individual dishes until we asked about it specifically.The table that came in after we got our food got theirs in 10 minutes after we waited an hour and a half.This restaurant experience was a joke and I will not be returning.

Having booked a table for a large party, the restaurant was not prepared. We waited for an hour before even getting tea, 1.5 hours later the staff came back saying they forgot... the evening was definitely ruined.

We came here as 2 tables of 10 with a reservation in advance. But we took around half an hour to get our orders taken despite the restaurant not being very busy. And then, a table which ordered later than ours got their food served first!! We waited around 1.5 hours for our food. And even then, they still managed to forget some of our orders. We understand that it is hard to cook for a big group but still we already made reservations in advance and even then it shouldn't take this long!!!!!!! This is unacceptable!!!!!!!!!!

Nice food, friendly staff, service a little slow primarily due to the number of takeaway orders being shipped out. Eclectic music and slightly dated decor. As a parent Christmas music and nursery ryhmes have a place, but I'm not sure it's in a restaurant in February! We did enjoy the food and would definitely order take out from here, but unlikely to dine in.

I have recently moved to Northampton and was a bit worried about trying a new chinese but Mayflower was a great find! Ordered very late on Chinese New Year and the staff were extremely polite and helpful although I felt so bad for ordering late. The food was a great standard really tasty and they were so lovely they gave us free salt and pepper beans! While I was waiting for the food they also provided me with a free drink, such great service! All of the food tasted fresh and warm. The ribs just melted off bone, the best ribs I have ever had at a chinese. Deffo a great place to try for chinese takeaway, I would recommend and will be back again!

Mayflower is the best Chinese restaurant in northampto . The staff are efficient and the food has flavours that are exquisite. For quality you must visit. Take the familly .

Been here quite a few times but never got round to writing a review until now. The food here is always excellent and the service is great. We typically go for the all you can eat and after each course we are offered more. My wife usually has a bottle of wine and not once has she had to top up her own glass. Our favourite is the salt and pepper battered corn. The decor may not be the most modern but the food more than makes up for it.

food was extremely greasy and lumpy, had several hairs in my chow mein and when i complained the service offered was below satisfactory and hung up the phone on a number of occasions. will most certainly never be ordering from here again and don’t recommend any one else to either.

We had a takeaway from the Mayflower. Dim Sum and the other classic takeaway dishes. We have never tried this restaurant and we chose delivery. They delivered promptly and I would like to say one of the best Chinese takeaways I’ve had in Northampton. The food was hot, tasted good quality and without doubt this will be our go to Chinese takeaway from now on. The reviews are good and we chose the restaurant based on these, so I’d like to reinforce these reviews by saying the food and service was really good.

Dinner for three on a Saturday night for under £90 including wine, desserts and excellent service. We chose the £19 per person buffet where you pick 4 starters, a second course, 4 mains and rice and noodles for the three of us. It's great to see Chinese people eating in a Chinese restaurant and that was the case last night with two separate families as well as the other diners. Grace was very helpful and informative. My dad is very well travelled and rated it as one of the best Chinese restaurants he has ever eaten in, and that includes out in Hong Kong. Clean, forks and chop sticks available, beautiful crockery and serving dishes all added up to a delightful evening for the three of us

Called in without booking as off to picture and didn't have much time and had no idea what to expect! They were really accommodating with our timescales and the food was really good. The lamb with pancakes was a great starter and the Thai green curry was as good as I have had anywhere. Would really recommend venturing in, even if the outside doesn't look too brilliant - definitely a case of not judging a book by its cover!

Had been to Cinema almost opposite,walked in around 7.15pm unsure what to expect..(never been before)..All I can say is food was lovely,very pleasant people and service,would deffo go back...Good value,Chinese food ..Simple as that!!3 of us main courses only,with two drinks Carlsberg£5,bottle cider £3.50 and a water £41....Thankyou although your Carlsberg seemed a little overpriced!! Many thanks anyway!!

Brilliant quality food with price!

We have been to the Mayflower quite a few times, everytime the service has been great and the food has been glorious. The all you can eat menu is a great way to have a few different options of starters, duck and then a main of your choice with rice or noodles. We always come back to Mayflower because of the taste of the food.

Went here after cinema - set buffet-style for £19.50 with selections from each course. A la carte also available. Quiet Tuesday apart from a table of regulars but food lovely and fresh. Seczhuan prawns delicious as were all starters. Will definitely go again when at Sol Central - just over the road.

My husband and I visited this restaurant tonight after a trip to the cinema. We chose from the set menu. Plenty of choices. The food was fresh and very tasty. At no time were we rushed and the staff were great. This was the first time we have visited this restaurant and will defiantly be visiting again.

Easy 5 star for the £6 ish lunch deal. Good size portions, tasty dishes. They have "real" Chinese food as well at the end of the menu.
