Wose indain restaurant I have ever been to , absolutely disgusting and it's 2 star only just found out , not only didtbey try to steal my change but when I confronted them about it he said something under his breath went straight in the kitchen and came out with my takeaway , the curry was vile and bread stale STAY WELL CLEAR FROM THIS PLACE EVERYONE

My father and I had our weekly takeaway delivered by Maya yesterday evening. The Chicken Madrases were delicious, as ever, and the service impeccable.

My father and I ordered a takeaway from Maya last week. It was excellent. We both had a Chicken Madras with chapatis. The chicken was lovely and tender, the ordering easy and it came on time. Thank you!

I've been coming here for years. I was told they lost there drinks licence. Since then things have changed for the worse. I was here with 9 friends I had booked table for 10 on a Saturday night. the service was slow food was good. Upstairs which was a big seating area is now just a jumble of tables and chairs unused. Not many tables downstairs I get the feeling it's now a takeaway with a few tables. instead of a restaurant that also did takeaways. lots of orders were going out with just eat and the like. It's a shame

This is the first time I have ever tried Indian. It was lovely. We ordered the korma and the coconut type one 😊 both delicious. Loved the mango chutney pops dons and naan bread. Was all cooked great , good portions and super tasty. Would order again and recommend.

This is my go to restaurant if I’m looking for a tasty Indian meal and it never disappoints. Friendly staff, beautiful food and very reasonably priced too. Free parking across the road in the car park too, perfect

Having tried this in 2018 I thought I would give it another go. What a bad decision. Mango chutney was inedible with a very chlorine taste combined with a fizz, like when something has turned. I even got the server to try it and his excuse was because it was made with mustard seed and oil!!! Mix grill cocktail starter was all bright red and tasted the same, with the lamb tikka akin to chewing on a Dr Marten’s boot sole. Lamb chops bright red and incinerated. Lamb jalfrezi, lamb garlic achari and lamb naga all slop. The latter being a bowl of chilli slop. Sparkling water bottles not left on the table or anywhere visible, so could’ve been poured from a 19p Aldi bottle. Who knows? Overall, the service was lacklustre and the food diabolical. Never again.

First return in 2 years after a bad meal and bad response , However out of the blue , manager apologised this was also some time ago ,.We decided to give it one more try , glad we did the food was fantastic , good portions , great quality , Come on everybody lets support this establishment , they are obviously struggling in these unprecedented times , but have not given up they have returned to excellence , deserve to do well.

Ordered a takeaway which arrived cold. Rang the restaurant to tell them and was greeted with being told we were lying and put the phone down on us as had other people waiting. Won’t be going again and don’t recommend this restaurant lots better Indians in the area - need to up there game as won’t be busy every night especially with customer service like this. Awful !!!!

I just picked up a takeaway from Maya. Paid with a voucher that I had, this did not affect the order in the slightest! Delicious chicken pakora’s, tikka & dupiaza curries with lovely spices and flavours, fiery bombay potatoes and tasty egg pilau rice! A triumph of a takeaway, the quality of the meat SO good!

Where to start. We pre ordered online at 3.19pm. Estimated delivery was 5.15pm. We rang at 5.30pm to see where our food was, only to be told they had only started preparing it at 5.15pm, bearing in mind this restaurant/takeaway opens at 4.30pm. Why give us a delivery time, when you had no chance of actually keeping to it. We rang up twice, the first time food was only being prepared at 5.15pm. The second time was 6.15pm and we were told it was stuck in traffic. Finally delivered 30 minutes later. I make that an hour and half late from the time first stated and suggest they give more realistic times to people or I very much doubt they will be in business much longer. We’ve just had a take away from Maya, simply brilliant. Friendly staff, attention to detail and the best Indian/Bangladeshi food for miles. We have also eaten here many times including Christmas Day a couple of years ago, there’s no difference in quality between the restaurant food and take away, just perfect.

Ordered a takeaway via UberEats. I have ordered before from Maya and always found their food very good. I ordered three starters…tandoori chicken, chicken samosas and onion bhaji’s. Extras included Poppadoms and a mix of three dips. I was advised the food would be delivered after 45 minutes but it arrived after 25 minutes. The food was hot, delicious and plentiful. I would highly recommend Maya for good Indian food at a decent price.

I got charged 19.50 for pick up takeaway poppadoms chutney onion bajee 1 madras and 1 rice. Which was the eat in price they never deducted the 20% discount for takeaway. Also I eat in they have no licence no but can offer alcohol free beer at a premium price what is that all about. When I asked the young waiter he said it was to stop trouble. I've Been going here since it opened and have never had any problems. It's the lemon tree on the breck for me now on

25% off and small portions , items missed no draught beer , expensive bottles instead and absolutely no covid checks. Really hoping for something better but another business looking to take advantage of a horrible situation, and not responsibility for what’s happening. Shocking , profiteering! You choose.

Walked in tonight, told we could have a table. Then lady came over told us there were no tables. We did that we already had a table and she replied, "oh they've sneaked you in!" At that point, we decided to leave 😡😮

Just managed to get in at Maya after being let down by another local restaurant. Staff were lovely, very friendly, food was delicious! Definitely recommend and would definitely return. The lovely young blonde lady that looked after us was fab and definitely an asset to the restaurant!

Max and Jack where lovely, very polite all out food was fresh. Lamb chop starter was the best I’ve had. Naga chicken tikka was a hit. Had some confusion with dish and max swapped it no problem, we also had a younger guest who was treated to ice cream ! Good time had by all. 5 people with drinks was very reasonable price ! Will 100% be back !

We have had a meal with friends and nothing was too much trouble. Great food, reasonably priced in clean friendly surroundings. Max the waiter was happy to help and contributed to the totally positive experience.

Chaos, ordered our meals to take away, due to covid 19 , for safety sake, got the six o'clock slot for collection, arrive approx 5-55pm just to be safe, ordered online through their so called chef service, said he hadnt seen the order so had to wait,, one guy,, no face masks or gloves , eventually collected meals, absolutely terrible,obviously rushed ,£28, wasted first time at the maya , and definetly the last,

I decided to try the Tuesday special set course, the staff very friendly and attentive, I had onion Bhaji freshly made it was lush. Then had chicken tikka masala the sauce was not too sweet it was just right, left a good tip, was definately worth it looking forward to next visit, and thank you for the complimentary poppadoms, definately my fave of Indian at the moment.

have not visited since last post ,manager apologized during the Xmas period over his attitude to our complaint,and asked if we would go back as we were regular visitors , glad we did everything back to normal,, apparently the time we visited the chef was off for a month due to family circumstances , glad he is back , only complaint is instant coffee with milk and normal sugar ( really ) , otherwise very good .

Regular visitor to the maya , had a family meal here at maya on Saturday. Food was fabulous and staff were helpful I love the chicken akbori my favourite dish at the moment. Not to hot , creamy and tasty

Ordered popadoms with sides but when arrived home we did not have them so could eat them and the tikka main looked like a car crash so that to went in the trash , will not go back

use this restaurant on a regular basis , however today ,certainly not up to standard, usually excellent ,not today ,mixed starter of different temperatures , main meals lamb chewy , bhuna was salty and red in colour nan bread was doughy , this has been pointed out to manager , not a lot of intrest shown . asked if different chef , repy no.,must be having a very bad day today.

We had the set meal for 2 as we couldn't be bothered choosing separate dishes! But was a good choice as it was fantastic. We chose lamb bhuna and chicken sag as mains. Not the most luxurious surroundings but the food and service made up for it. We will definitely be back.b

Ordered chicken pakora starter, chicken biriani and 2 chapatis as a takeaway meal.It was awful. Four little pakoras that were very doughy and cold, the chicken biriani was cold so I had to warm it in the microwave and the chapatis were hard as if they had been warmed in the microwave too long. Worst takeaway I've had in a long time. We only live 5 mins drive from the restaurant so it's nothing to do with the distance. Will not be going back. We had been in the restaurant as part of a large group in December and the service was so slow so was giving it another shot.Save your money and go to another its realy not good quality

You know the food is going to be bad when you order and 2 minutes later, it arrives at the table...unless you go to a fast food restaurant. It was so evident that the curries we ordered, had spoons of food colouring, not the colour that turmeric or chillies give. The chicken korma was tasteless and the sauce was grainy. The naan bread was not the right consistency, very doughy and thick. The place lacks of atmosphere and looks old and outdate. Never ever again.

Having used most restaurants for an Indian takeaway the Maya is my preferred choice: good food, more generous proportions than others and pleasant staff. I think they should have a loyalty scheme if you regularly order direct as opposed to Just Eat who I think take 20%

To be honest this place doesn’t look like much from the outside but the food here is top notch. Very tasty succulent dishes, visited quite a few Indian restaurants over in Blackpool which were ok, but the food here has that something extra. 👍🏼

I was expecting great things from the reviews but this was a distinctly average meal. It may be the best in Poulton but depends on your benchmark. Have eaten at hundreds of Indian restaurants so I know my curries - this one was not for me or that of my friends.

We live in Poulton but for some unknown had never been to Maya Indian restaurant until last Wednesday so this was our first visit but will not be our last. This a real hidden gem,very friendly staff who are very helpful and will guide you throuigh the menu and make recommendations Faz was great and helped us. The quality of produce is top drawer and the chefs really know what they are doing, everything we had was fresh and very tasty, very authentic.If you are not a fan of hot and spicy foods don't be put off there is plenty of dishes that will not blow your socks off just ask the staff they know what they are doing. Give this place atry it is excellent. OK the decor may be a little dated but the food makes up for any shortfalls in this area. Get behind this little Gem. Greg E

I called in on my own as I would not take a friend there to eat as it is so much in need of a refurbishment and I would be uncomfortable about the state of the place. Had the food not been as good as it was I would have given it 2* - no strike that, I would not have gone in. Having said all that, the food is good and actually the best Indian food I have recently found in the area. I had a tandoori chicken korma with veg fried rice and a garlic naan, bottled coke, total £18. Looked at the Monday /Tuesday special offer menu but it was not what I wanted but is good value. Service fine, one very nice waiter.

Reviewing restaurants is always going to be opinionated. We have been visiting this establishment for many years. Every time the food is tasty and authentic. As with All Indian restaurants the menu is large and varied, so there is something for everyone. We have over the years learnt to order less food , as it is not great over eating. We never order popadoms as we don't care for them, but it is a good way to start the evening as at busy times your food can take a while to arrive. The main problem is takeaways are a large part of their business and seem to take precedence over diners . But the food is lovely. Book in advance don't be disappointed you will love it .

I don’t write many reviews but actually when you get great service and tasty food why wouldn’t you leave a review. Far too many negative reviews these days.

Went with friends and family for tea. Service friendly and prompt.

This is the second restaurant owned by Fayez curry house in Cleveleys, which is far superior for quality. We ordered the mixed starter which was all tasteless apart from the onion bhaji which was very nice. Then we ordered the exact dishes that we usually eat at Fayez as the menus are the same. The fish chilli massala was like a pureed tin of plum tomatoes which a little curry power added and a couple of fresh chillies on the top. Watery, bland with very little fish. More like a sloppy soup. The South Indian garlic achari had plenty of lamb but again was tasteless and sloppy, unlike Fayez where its dark in colour and rich in flavours. My advice is to travel out and use the Cleveleys restaurant as the dishes there are on a different level.

Visited last night, I have looked at some of the other reviews and they mention the lack of atmosphere but should we not make our own, at the risk of sounding old !!! So many places these days are so noisy you can’t think let alone speak. Service remains good and friendly. Food fresh and tasty. We’ll be back.

We were a party of 6 and we opted for the the Special menu. We all ordered different dishes. Our food was delicious and the service was excellent. We did feel however that the price of drinks was slightly excessive.

Called in on a Tuesday night after the cinema without booking. The food was very good and reasonably priced with a reasonable selection. It was however lacking in atmosphere with tables lined up along the wall and not much in the way of decoration. There were a couple just leaving, then we were the only people left. may have just been an off night but there is a lot of competition in Poulton.

First visit. Delicious food. Fresh . Tasty. And delivered to our table. By the friendly waiter with a smile Max. 9.95 3 courses on Monday and Tuesday can't be beaten on value for money. Definitely worth a visit x

Have been going to Poulton for years and only found out about this restaurant by a taxi driver. The reataurant is easy to miss as the signage is very small and from the outside it looks more like a takeaway.

Eight of us from work came here on Saturday, it was busy but we were served quickly, the service was ok, as was the food, mine was a bit dry and overcooked, not as good as last time.

Been coming here for years for a reason. Best in the area. The shahi special balti and west bengal jalfrezi are my favourites. Max served us. He was a lovely lad. I'm drunk.

Visited here on a Sunday evening. We hadn't booked but didn't have to wait long for a table. While waiting for the table we were asked if we wanted drinks. We all ordered different starters. They were all delicious. We ordered various main dishes which we shared amongst us. Service was good and staff were friendly.

Usually have the set menu for 2 takeaway which is a mixed starter, 2 mains with rice, and poppadoms / naan.

Maya has been my Dads local Indian for the last 20+ years, and he and we have been frequenting once every 2 weeks or so.

My husband and I hadn’t booked. on recommendation we thought we would try maya for a change as we often go out for a meal at weekends. we were offered a table upstairs ,it was like entering the local library ? a long room with no windows every one was talking quietly, there was some background music but it needs to be slightly louder.

Been a few times and always forget to go back every time been good. But the last time was faultless. Lots off flavour excelent service. And very reasonable priced. Will be making this my fav Indian from Now on.

Great food, friendly staff. Visited once in a group then returned again less than a month later as the food was so go. would definitely recommend. Serving sized are great and there is a wide variety to suit everyone's tastes.

My family visit Maya at least once a week and Max is their favourite waiter! Was lovely to be home for Christmas and be greeted with the same friendly hospitality from Max and get free shots! Thank you Max & Maya for making our Christmas!

My friend and I visited Maya as we have before for a midweek meal. We hadn’t booked but we’re able to get a table. The meal was lovely, very tasty, plenty of meat in the main course. There was a wide range of accompaniments with the poppadoms. The service was quick but without us feeling rushed at all. We even got a complimentary Baileys at the end. Our waiter was Max, he was very courteous but not intrusive. We’ll definitely go again. I can highly recommend Maya. Good atmosphere too as it started filling up after we arrived.

Brilliant food I had madras, my friend had dansak both brilliant big thanks to max for the shots. The red dip with the popadoms is a winner too

Superb food, excellent service, very friendly staff! Max was absolutely brilliant! We visited the Lemon Tree Indian restaurant nearby and much preferred Maya. It was our second time visiting Maya and we will definitely be coming again!

I've never been here before but I'm so glad we did!We were out with a couple of friends and my husband definitely needed some food so passing here I could smell the flavours which drew me in.Staff are very friendly and the food was amazing would absolutely recommend. Recently had dinner with friends who I had not seen together for a few years, the service was awesome, friendly and knowledgeable and the food outstanding - plenty of heat and great atmosphere. Thoroughly recommended.

Maya is always consistently good, never had a bad meal here. Max is a great host and made menu recommendations which were spot on. I’d highly recommend Maya to anybody who hasn’t already tried it. The chicken shashlik is superb.

Since moving here 5 years ago, I've struggled to find a good Indian restaurant/take away. This place is outstanding and very reasonably priced. The menu needs to be presented in a more accessible well and the decor could be updated, but this doesn't stop me from visiting and thoroughly enjoying my food!

First time I visited this restaurant was for a takeaway which I thoroughly enjoyed. A week or so later I booked a table for my wife & myself, I was a bit unsure about what my wife would eat as she's not big on spicy food but Max came over and spent a few minutes going through the menu and explaining the different dishes, my wife ended up going for a Korma which she really enjoyed, I had my usual chicken tikka pattiha. A great night with lovely food.

We spent a great evening at Maya; the staff were friendly and attentive, especially Max whose repartee was very entertaining! He recommended a very tasty main course (the name of which, sadly, escapes me!). The food was competitively priced, with excellent mid-week offers. We also enjoyed a complementary drink after our meals!I would definitely recommend it.

Visited last night with my partner and her son and once again had an excellent meal. A warm welcome and attentive service only added to the fantastic taste of the food! My partner's Tandoori Butter Chicken was "out of this world", apparently!Well worth the money!!

This unpretentious little Indian restaurant has maintained its standards for many years. It must be the best in the Fylde.

Been coming here for years, came with three generations (Grandad, Father and Myself) previously and the food never fails to impress! Unfortunately now only one generation remains and the food is still simply superb, the best curry by a country mile! A must if you're in the area!

Food is amazing and extremely tasty. We were looked after very well by Max and Adam. Max was very helpful and adapted the menu to our taste when we couldn't decide what to order. Amazing service. Will definitely go back.

Food tasteless. Some meat not cooked through and still raw in the middle. Other guests swearing and belching loudly. Coffee like dish water. Total rip off!

Four of us went here for our night out, the staff were friendly, and service quick. We had poppadoms to start, they were good but there was only enough pickles for one person, we asked for more and they did bring some more. I had onion baji which was very good, for my main I had bhuna shaslick, the chicken was tough and a strange flavour, the sauce was very salty. Overall not brill.

Tried a takeaway from Maya last night for the first time in ages. The starters and my husbands main were very nice but my chicken shashlic was completely burned. One of the main things I enjoy about this dish are the pieces of pepper and onion but they were charred to a crisp so couldn't be eaten. The chicken itself was also charred around the edges so made it very chewy. Had this been served to me in the restaurant I would have sent it back, in fact it looked so burnt I don't think they would have served it. Very disappointing to open it at home so you don't really have the option to change it without spoiling the evening. We won't be rushing back

Called Maya this evening, despite hearing poor reviews, but thought we would give them a go anyway. Made my order and stated for delivery and the waiter said, "sorry we don't deliver to your address" - I explained that I only lived in Poulton and he then said that it would be three pounds. I told the guy that I live less than a mile away, and he got a bit flustered, and then told me that the delivery guy had not turned up anyway. I asked when he was likely to turn up. and he said that he did not know, as the delivery guy is unreliable! A bit taken aback, I told him that I would go and pick up and he said great, he'll throw in some popadoms for the bother - nice.When I got home with the food, there were no popadoms and my order was completely wrong! Jalfrezi instead of Pathia! Thankfully I don't mind Jalfezi, so I ate it anyway, but definitely wont be going back! What a joke! Food was very average too!

Will never ever return to that shambolic run restaurant. Got threatened by manager as the card machine was not working. He should have asked me politely to go to cash machine, but was very aggressive towards me you don't treat customers like that especially a women. Have tried and tried to speak to owner am still waiting. Ended in a huge argument never had such a bad experience. Totally ruined my evening. I paid but should have just walked out and not gone back with cash. He was lucky I did not put him head first down the clay oven. Indian Orchard the best. My husband regular will never go near the place again.

I must admit, I am very critical when I comes to indian restaurants, so it's my hardest category to review. I am very particular about a curry being spot on and many curry houses make dishes that all taste the same but just with different heat. This is because, a lot of curries are made with the same base so it's easy to do. Luckily, Maya pays attention to detail and curry here is just spot on. The lamb Chula to start, gorgeous soft lamb in a mild sauce on top of a crispy naan style chapatti, is lovely. And they do a Bangladesh Jalfreizi which is excellent, highly recommended. The food here does the talking, the service isn't anything to write home about but if you want a bang on traditional, authentic curry, you'll find one here.

Once again we had a splendid meal. Service excellent. Could not fault anything. I was concerned after reading a poor review. That was totally unfounded.

3 of us go out for an Indian once a month and this time decided on Maya. Service was ok but the lemonade for a lager top was not right in fact more like soda water when we complained and asked to see the bottle we were ignored and at £3.90 a pint that was £12 wasted to start with.Poppadoms arrived for 3 people with small ramekins of onions, chutney etc we only ate the chutney and onions so asked for another portion of onions which bearing in mind were the same size portions for 3 as the guy on his own on the next table got with 1 poppadom so we were shocked to see a charge for extra onions at 60p!!!The food was mediocre and certainly not worth the money as you will see £79 for 3 in an Indian is London prices and for that you get top quality food in lovely restaurants. My advice and honest review is there are better Indian restaurants within walking distance for a lot less

I must admit we had some reservations about visiting Maya again following a lot of staff changes. However when 5 of us visited for dinner yesterday evening, we found the food to be the same high standard that it has always been. I read someones review giving this place 1 star and that seems extreme to me. We also paid with a debit card so don't know what the other reviewer is talking about. Our food was freshly cooked, tasty and as spicy as we like it. The restaurant itself isn't exactly the last word in luxury or style but the seats are comfortable, the room is warm, the food is fresh and the service is attentive. I'd be happy to recommend this place to anyone.

This place has gone completely down the tubes. What once was the best curry in the area has now been reduced to nothing. Latest scam is cash only as it slides down the pan. Yet another set of staff in the restaurant. Stay away!! Lots of choice in the area...
