Ordered takeaway which arrived quickly via Deliveroo.. however the food was vile. Mini spring rolls were so overcooked and tasted of cheap cooking oil. The grilled dumplings were grilled to a crisp and the main courses (chicken with sweet and sour sauce and the beef with ginger and spring onion) were both tasteless and the portion sizes were small … the crabmeat and sweetcorn soup was ok .. won’t be ordering again from this place

This is by far the worst customer experience I have ever had. I ordered takeaway from uber Eats, and first they called me and was angry because I did not having a UK number. Then I went down to wait for the food, only to have them calling me again yelling because I did not pick up the food, saying they had «waited for half an hour». It was even less than 30 minutes ago that I ordered the food, and in the app it said that the food was not ready to be served. The food was not even good. Horrible experience, never again.

Ordered through Just Eat and twice the food has been delicious. The second time they said the food was with the driver yet it took half an hour to arrive so I’m a little dubious but still they deserve good reviews! Great food :-)

Terrible customer service not welcoming at all ! ribs were reheated. I was very surprised as google gives such a high rating . First and last time . If you value good Chinese cuisine, i strongly advise avoiding !

This is a very street food small restaurant, fast service decent food, good for takeaways and few vegetarian options.

Hemos estado usando May Mei Wok una vez a la semana durante 15 años, pero ha ido cuesta abajo en el último año con cada vez menos platos hasta su nivel anterior. Nunca ha sido genial, pero es barato y, si bien muchos platos son mediocres, algunos están bien. No hay mucha variedad de comida china en el área, así que este ha sido nuestro sitio al que ir. Esta noche traté de pedir mi comida habitual, pero decidieron que no podía sustituir el pollo por su carne molida en salsa negra a pesar de que siempre lo había hecho antes. Acaban de perder un cliente de mucho tiempo.

Varie volte ho comprato da loro e mi sono sempre trovata bene. Sia in qualità di prezzi che di gusto. Ordino sempre le stesse cose come gli involtini primavera vegetali e riso con i gamberi e le porzioni sono sempre state molto grandi. Staff veloce. unica pecca è quando si ordina al telefono è un pò difficile comunicare...

May Mei Wok is located minutes from Finsbury Park Station. It's a small take away restaurant with two tables for 4 people and a breakfast bar for 5 people. They had free prawn crackers available for customers to eat whilst waiting but refused to provide a free portion even though I spent £15 (free for deliveries over £12). There were no options to have the Seaweed (£3,70) without salt. Horse Chestnut in the King Prawn with mixed vegetables (£6.00) despite requesting to remove. After I took the free basket of Prawn Crackers I was given our own. Overall the food wasn't too bad but their Customer Service skills needs drastic improvements.

There are Chinese takeaways and there is May Mei Wok. Thoroughly traditional, inasmuch as British Chinese Takeaways can ever be traditional, but that’s its strength. It’s not the place to go for the latest Hoxton-based foam dish or spherified kale or whatever Time Out is telling us we should be eating this week; it’s simply all the classics, brilliantly done, with generous portions packed with flavour. It’s been a mainstay of Finsbury Park for years and years, and rightly so. There are people who eat here every night, which is frankly insane but in an understandable way. The service is chatty and fast, and there always seems to be a buzz of some sort. That’s all there is to say, really. You’d have to go a long way to find a better takeaway, and indeed people come a long way for their fix of May Mei Wok.

So disappointed 😣had from here last year and it was lovely. Squid was hard batter. Sweet n and sour chicken Hong kon style was just mush n rice no flavour £35 ?? Eiw

A local, get what you pay for, slightly under par food hole. But wait - lets not get too high and mighty - its a Chinese Take Away and one that has stood the test of time. Ok so the sweet and sour chicken can make you feel a little light headed but the staff are generally very friendly. That all said, after a good night at the Worlds End it's a port in a storm. The rice is sticky, the draw crackers and spring rolls crisp. A local feature which will meet expectations of the traditional take away experience of tester year.

Like all chippys in England, they serve fake Chinese food. Do not go here. It's not cheap and the quality isn't there. Don't even go when you are drunk. Absolutely rubbish.

Food was okay (duck was over cooked and dry). They forgot to bring our drink so had to call to ask for it. When it was delivered it was the wrong one. Have ordered from them before and it was fine so just unfortunate.

Having already left 2 great reviews of this place, as the food is really good here, I was really disappointed to have waited almost 2 hours for my delivery... I will order from here again as I think it's the best Chinese in the area, however I hope I don't have to wait so long again! A bit of loyalty would be nice.

I have orderd from here twice and the food has been superb on both occasions . Delivery is very promp and the delivery guy is very polite. Recommend the crispy chilli beef

Noodles in soup without any soup because it all spilled into the plastic bag. Chicken with cashew nuts with peanuts instead - which I am allergic to!

The chicken in the chicken curry was awful, no firmness in the pieces, mushy pieces of chicken (probably frozen chicken) I couldn't eat it. Chips were all squashy and not particularly nice, curry sauce, steamed rice was fine. Overall disappointed, have ordered from them before and the food was fine. Their ingredient standards have dropped significantly, so sad I wont be ordering from them again.

First time ordering from here after a recommendation. Food was lovely and from me who is fussy with Chinese food, will be ordering again soon.

If your hungry and want your food quick then don't bother. However when it did eventually arrive the delivery driver was a nice guy and the food was ok, but won't be ordering from here again.

Delivery on the time they say. Quality is good, can be a bit mixed on flavour each time you have it but generally yum!

This is the worst Chinese food I have ever tasted. The salt and chilli tofu was over cooked, the chillis were literally chilli flakes as opposed to peppers, no salt. The vermicelli chow mien was so oily. They shouldn't even be charging for their food!

Chow mien extremely salty and rest of meal unfortunately quite bland. Also put not for no shrimp or prawns but got shrim in the spring rolls. Had food from them before and was excellent so not sure what went wrong

That was the worst order I have ever made with any Chinese restaurants. I asked for special fry rice n got tasteless boiled rice!! I called up to complain and the lady said the driver will come n collect the food n give me a refund.... An hour later no sign of the driver and these people refused to take it back n refused to give me my money. The manager even had the cheek to rush me off the phone saying if a customer doesn't like their food then they should go else where!! NEVER again!

I ordered prawn chow mein and veg Singapore vermicelli noodles. I called them to see if they could change prawn chow mein to Chicken chow mein which they agreed. However what I received was prawn chow mein which was quite dry. The veg noodles had egg in it which meant my mother could not eat the dish and had something else in the end

Food came way to quick and wasn't cooked properly, threw away most of my food.

I will not be using this restaurant again. Such a shame because the food is usually nice BUT delivery is always ridiculously late and driver & staff can be rude and unpleasant. They dont seem to value their customers very much at all. Also talking to them over the telephone to complain is just a waste of time. They dont care! Ive given them benefit of the doubt enough times, not anymore. BYE!

Starter was marketed as having seaweed it didn't have it seems to be a common thing in London people put seaweed on the menu then say they don't serve it its an error - truth 3 restaurants same thing - if you don't serve it take it off the menu - the food however was delicious and of a very high standard so will be coming again :0)

Terrible! Avoid. Didn't send all of the food in the order. When we called up - bad-tempered Chinese man lied - we threatened to demand a refund - he then changed his story - then agreed to send out replacement to us properly - but he lied again by doing nothing. Food was a mess too. Dried up and inedible. Used to be a good takeaway. Terrible now. Possibly new management. Will be getting full refund from Justeat.

I was expecting gloopy, Anglicised food, but this was mediocre to boot. Flavourless egg fried rice, poor quality chicken, and weird-tasting chilli sauce.

Delivery took more than the stated time and when it arrived it was short of our drinks + our complementary prawn crackers. We rang and stated this fact and they said they would add in a free drink for the inconvenience. It took them a further 30 minutes to deliver the drinks (bearing in mind the restaurant is a 5 minute walk away) without the stated free drink. Absolutely disgusting service and this was not the first time this has happened. They've definitely lost custom. Would not recommend based on the stress that their service can bring.

Waited 2 hours for the food. Not worth the wait. Had problems before with them. After calling, no help was offered just asked me to wait.

I have used this Chinese takeaway for a couple of years and ordered the same food which I have throughly enjoyed until recently. I am not sure if there has been management change, but my meal is no longer tasty- something is missing and therefore I will no longer be using this service again as the last 4 orders, I have had to throw away my meal. Extremely disappointed about this.

Decent however very bland and also the sesame prawn toast didnt taste good, it tasted as if if was cooked in old oil. Not nice.

the food is really really nice i cant explain its so fresh you have to try the barbecued pork its delicious.

Good food and fairly priced, sweet and sour prawn balls were light and crispy and the sauce wasn't too sweet. Udon noodles were very nice and enough for two meals! Ribs were also moist and not chewy.
