Lovely food and service... if you like it spicy let them know as the pannang (hot) was quite mild.

What a shame....haven't been here for about 3 years and it has gone massively downhill. Thai restaurants who reheat sticky rice in a microwave so it becomes like plaster....thick and solid. Max.....what has happened. I had beef penang curry with the rice that also tasted like it had come out of a packet. I won't be back ever again.

Great food, great flavours, good portion sizes. Away with work and found this takeaway Gem. Started with S&P Squid and a mixed platter and usually expect to have to leave some of the fried stuff as I can't stomach much oil. No problem here, Squid, 2 X Panko fried prawns, 2 X fish cakes, Spring rolls all gone and not a touch of greasiness to them. Satay sauce was light and punchy - Not your usual watered down peanut butter. Squid nice and fresh, not rubbery. Pad Thai mains was superb, sweet and tangy and plenty of peanut crunch all the way through. Will be back if I stay around here again

Excellent takeaway service. Ordered a home delivery, which arrived promptly. Thai fishcakes were excellent, with a delicious side sauce and garnish. Pad Thai with Prawns, Chicken Stirfry with Thai Basil and Chillies, Prawn Strifry with Ginger were all very good. Prawns were very juicy! Couldn't finish it all. Probably too much for just two persons!

It was good portion and very tasty. The only downside are collecting food is 10% off not 15% and Sunday isn't open as it said on homepage. But food was by far best in Sutton, even vegan menu!

I love Thai food and have been going to this restaurant for years. I’ve eaten in and had takeaway many times and every time the quality is high service and lovely. Highly recommend , you will not be disappointed

A really lovely Thai restaurant. The beef salad is mouthwatering moorish.. the curries are to die for. the coconut rice, heavenly! Service always with a smile. Recommend!

Prices have gone up slightly out of nowhere but the food is always delicious!!

This was quite disappointing. The green thai curry which is usually delicious lacked flavour. The sauce was thin and not creamy. The chicken was thin tasteless strips probably processed awful. The coconut ice cream had no flavour of coconut and was ice rather than ice cream. The honey prawns were lovely. A real shame as I have visited several times and the food has always been wonderful.

The food was absolutely delicious and large portions. Plates hot and food hot. The service was great. One thing it would be good to get some more water jugs so they could be left on the table. I will be returning in Dec with my work colleagues. So much choice I need to try more.

Excellent Thai restaurant. A family run business that has been here for 15 years or more. Spacious and bright. Service great, food delicious. There are daily specials too alongside the extensive menu. Very reasonably priced.

With a name like Max's Thai cooking i thought it would be an English person who spent two weeks in Pattaya and thought they would have a dabble Max comes from North East Thailand and introduced himself, a really nice guy with a wealth of knowledge of the restaurant trade. As expected a lot of the dishes are a bit of a fusion but they do it really well what i had was superb, really well cooked with top class ingredients I would recommend this restaurant, i have travelled to Thailand a lot and know the food, this is only the second Thai restaurant i have recommended in this country!

Been here on 3 occasions now and the food and service is excellent.Every single course and dish was great and the table service time was really quick

Great thai food at reasonable prices

The food was ok and you could feel the original climate. As for me and I am a big fan for Thai cuisine there was lack of thai tastes no lemon grass ,no kafir lime leaves ,no fish sauce no ginger ,no chilli ,no garlic ,no lime ,no coriander toped on the curry ? And there was some suspicious taste is that MSG ? Or just too much salt I don’t know ... the food was ok just ok but i don’t think ill be coming back...

Nice cosy buzzing destination with attentive staff. Sadly the food didn't match up to expectations. Very quick service.I mean really quick. But with congealed solid rice, and mains bland in the extreme, we were disappointed. Thai food should be amongst the tastiest on the planet. But ours was just tasteless and showed little to hint of proper Thai cuisine. Shame. It should have been much better. There are much better Thai restaurants around. They need to up their game unless they are happy to stay where they are.

went Saturday night, had booked, very busy. Place is quite small therefore seemed very noisy. Sat down and after 20mins we had to ask for drinks. Further 10 mins went by before we got our main order taken. When food came it was very good, two of the party had different beef dishes and the meat was so tender. All in all nice place to eat, but if a Saturday, must book.

The food is very average, and probably frozen as both me and my partner was feeling quite sick after our dinner. On the other hand the sevice was great, the staff is really friendly and lovely and that kinda makes you forget how poor the food is.

Been here 2 weeks in a row now and love it, never see it before, but definitely worth checking out. The food is good and the hygiene rating is 5 too which is a plus!

we ate here on a Friday evening and by the time we last, at 9.30pm, every table was full. The staff were both charming and efficient. Everything that we ordered was brought promptly. The food was similar to Thai food that we had enjoyed in Thailand, though perhaps a little less spicy. One of our guests asked for a spicier than usual main course and he was very satisfied when it came. I would have liked my ginger ice cream to have had more than one bit of ginger in it, but it was still delicious, as was all the other food.

Love Max always a good tasty meal. Had a take away, but restaurant also nice to eat in.

We eat Max's Thai food at least once a month. It is always fresh, well presented and SO tasty. The jumbo prawn dishes are so delicious, and another favourite is the ginger cod. Meanwhile my husband has had most of the meat dishes and is equally delighted. You can't beat Max for an authentic Thai culinary experience in a relaxed atmosphere. Great value for money, too!

Don't think I've ever had a dish I didn't like from here. The salads are great and the pad-thai is wonderful.

Accomodating staff, excellent food, good value for money - what else could you want? The Prawn PadThai in particular is great, although if im honest I am yet to try something there I dont like.

Orderd a take away tonight told 1 hour delivery took 95 mins turned up cold and no tast in the ginger veg . 2 lots of ribs the same one should have been honey Siam beef . Tofoo was ok . 33 quid wasted

The max Thai offers a great selection of Thai dishes suiting all tastes … and truly deserves some recognition and praise for the quality of their food.

Max's is great for eating in, the staff are polite and always willing to give advice on the menu. There is a great choice on the menu and always a a special to choose. Takeaways can be delivered or collected.

Food dripping in grease & mushy tofu, don't waste your money.

We used to eat here regularly and had always enjoyed it. Sadly this last visit will probably be our last. The wine should have been colder and the prawn crackers were greasy and hard. The mixed starter platter was okay but the chicken satay was tepid and looked worryingly pink in places so that was left. Pad Thai was on the greasy side and the prawns were undercooked, the chicken curry with green beans, which used to be so delicious, was watery and bland and the beef with chilli which used to be a firm favourite was also unrecognisable from how it used to be. Tuesday night and the restaurant was full and only two servers on so glad we were early and got in and out quickly but it really was not up to scratch and even with the Tuesday discount was poor value. Did we complain - no because we could see Max was rushed off his feet and we have been going for years but alas we will be voting with our feet and won’t be returning.

What an awesome Thai Resturant great food friendly staff food is great value for money would certainly recommend this little place in the heart of Wallington

Max’s Thai Cooking in Wallington is the best Thai food in around Croydon/Wallington area. Seems to be family run establishment, with great staff. The food is full flavour and taste. Parking maybe a challenge sometimes but there is car park around the back (pay and display). This also my local Thai take away and it has never failed to impress with the quality of food. Recommend dish - all the Thai curries.

Worst customer service ever ! Ring and order tell us it will be 30 mins .... 1 hour 10 mins later I ring and ask where the food is and she tells me that it left the shop 20 mins ago and we are 5th on the delivery list ... so that’s means it will be cold and soggy ! Rude on the phone

Hadn’t been to Max’s for awhile so nice to see it had been redecorated and looked a lot better for it.

This is one of my go to Thai spots. I usually always get delivery which is fast and comes very hot. Well priced meals with lots of flavour. Menu is full of great options. Overall a great Thai spot on this side of London! Recommended.

Enjoyed a meal here on a Saturday evening. We reserved earlier though there were a couple of spare tables. Varied menu of starters and mains to choose from. The jumbo prawns are tasty. Busy kitchen with lots of takeaways in addition to the restaurant so the wait is a little longer than expected. Not a problem as we had a nice relaxing evening. Good service too.

Never had a bad meal from here. Excellent standard of food and lovely people. Would highly recommend!

I eat here 1 x month and am always very impressed with how fresh and tasty the many dishes are . I opt for the best chicken wings as a starter and cut small and the crispy coating has the most delicious of spices I have ever tasted, finished off with beef flambé . A very nice place to eat with good service with prices about right .

I've never eaten in here, however my wife suggests that the dining in experience is much better than the two takeaways we've recently ordered via Just Eat.

Easiest rating to give. Simply delicious. Very well presented inside. Very popular. Great staff. Ok price, about £8 - £10 for typical mains. Will be coming back!!! Post-dessert. Avocado + créme de menta ice-cream. Wow!!!

A friendly family run Thai restaurant that offers lovely food at cheaper prices than any other Thai place in Purley. Watch the board for specials and I can highly recommend the Tom Kha Kai (coconut chicken soup), it's so good! Parking is really easy, there's a huge carpark out back.

Went to Max's on Sunday night, this is one of the only Thai's we can find open on Sunday in the Wallington area. The food was great, the place clean and the staff friendly and considerate. Well worth a visit.
