Very poor food. When you complain they don't want to know. Eat there at your peril. Plenty other Chinese around . You have been warned 🤮

Awesome!!! Absolutely great Chinese! Shame it’s not open dinner time no more. West here loads while working in Sunderland fav bait house!!!

I bought steak and chips gravy and noodles last week absolutely lovely, thought I would do the same this week, bad idea, the steak was tough like eating leather, the chips were off earlier today reheated disgusting, I literally had a few mouthfuls and binned it, cost me £11.50, disgusting, stay away I might aswell have flushed my money down the toilet, 0 out of 100.

I have eaten here and supported this takeaway as have my family and friends for over 30 years, eating 2 sometimes 3 times a week i recently moved home to a 3rd floor flat and ordered a special chow mein. On arrival the driver said " oh i dont like delivering in flat" i told him it is a lift to the 3rd floor what is the problem? He left and on opening the food found a long black hair and not one king prawn. I phoned and explained she said" we are too busy" and put down the phone. I took the food and drove to the shop and told them it was disgusting service considering the money me and my family have spent there. She gave me back my money and then" told me to f*** off somewhere else for food" nice.

Omg what the hell has happened? Waited an hour and half for delivery! Husband rang to ask where food was “ it’s on its way we busy” they had number so why not ring and tell us? The hubby got king prawn & mushroom curry with fried rice, it came with boiled rice! and the sauce was tasteless watery, I got beef in peking sauce with chips, don’t know what the sauce was cos it wasn’t peking, I looked at it tasted a bit beef then threw the lot in the bin. Disgusting vile won’t be ordering again

The food is always unreal and for the price you pay it is always worth it. Sometimes the chips are rank so I just get curry and rice just to be sure. Overall I say go for it if u fancy one. Couldn’t have better service your in there less than 5 minutes and staff are always happy. 10/10 from me :) have fun on your trip to maxims

Revisit this takeaway every week. The food is amazing and staff are friendly. Reasonably priced and deliver to your door.

Just had chow mein and special chop suey both fantastic taste. This is the first time we've finished the whole meal for a long time.the chip debate (there isn't one), proper chips every time,not these frozen, quick fry rubbish. This to me shows that they spend time to get things right. Even though we travelled 5 miles to get the meal it was still hot to taste.we will definitely, definitely, try more from this extensive menu, ( not for a while cos we're stuffed) thanks again for a lovely meal see you soon STEVE & SAM

Come up to Sunderland every month to see family. Go to Maxim every Saturday when here for a take away. Never ever had a bad meal and have no need to try elsewhere. Staff polite and food great.

Lovey Chinese food with proper fish shop chips ideal portion sizes for a family feed. Deffo reccomend

Not the greatest quality food try for your self charsu tasted off well guess it was night and day spent on toilet never again

I wanted to try some were new for our Chinese and came across this. It did take over an hour to come bt the curry was lovely. Only down side it had chip shop chips and I believe chip shop chips should stay in the chip shop. Lovely curry defo guna order again minus the chips

Beautiful food, friendly staff who love children visiting:) they even give free sweets and reasonable prices!

iv been going to this place since I was in school almost 6 years ago, and still if im going to get a takeaway it is going to be here, the staff is so friendly and if you go in with a small child they normally come out and offer some kind of sweets for the child while waiting for your food, the lunch time menu is brilliant value for what u get and is very tasty, they also do a option of getting your curry dishes (extra hot) this consists of chilly flakes and some kind of chilly oil in your dish which is also very nice but sometimes can be abit on the hot side and other times actually taste milder then the ordinary curry sauce!

I used to love this takeout. Since it has been taken over I don't find it as nice. The chips used to be the best in Sunderland by far, but now they are your average anaemic chips. There is also too much garlic in some of the dishes.

This chinese take away is the best in sunderland. I had the steak it was absolutely beautiful. My wife had sweet and sour chicken which was also mouthwatering. Big portions to boot. Please try this authentic old school chinese ?😊😃 😛

I like quite basic chinese - chicken curry fried etc,and would totally recommend this place.
