matlock balti in Derbyshire Dales

Driver was waiting for us despite us stating on the order what time we would be home. Restaurant did not inform just eat when the driver left either, leaving the poor driver waiting. Needs to be better organised or it’s not fair on the drivers. Food great as ever.

First time I've used the app and was very happy with the overall experience.

I ordered to the wrong address, called them up and they sorted it within a couple minutes and I got the food delivered. 10/10 !!

Absolutely fantastic food and service, we only planned to go on the Friday night with the family on our 2 night weekend break, but it was so good we went again on the Saturday too :)

This place had very good reviews and from not living in this area I travelled for about 30 min to sample this restaurant and I was very impressed and not dissapointed fantastic 10/10. The decor was beautiful the staff where very smart and welcomed you with open arms service quick meal piping on and delicious thanks see u again x

Booked a table for two, not a problem I was told. Turned up and no table. Clearly booking a table is pointless, had to wait a bit, clearly people just walking in off the street getting whatever tables available. Staff were excellent however, really accommodating. Menu is small and was quite surprised that medium dishes had no heat at all. It was tasty but the menu is very lacking. Need to up their game, nice surroundings mind.

Unfortunately a mistake with the order-food that did arrive was nice but not what I ordered.

We visited on the spur of the moment late one evening and were immediately treated to a 5 star service Top quality staff and food We had chicken balti and lamb korai and there was so much meat and it actually was so tender the lamb was the best we’ve ever had There was no rushing us even though it was late The restaurant itself is beautiful styled to a high standard We really enjoyed our experience here and will visit again next time we are in Matlock

We had a takeaway. We picked in up 24/12/2023. We had the food for Christmas day and boxing day. The service picking up the food was great. They even gave a Christmas gift. The food was fabulous. Thank you.

The food was excellent, really pleased you have the option to choose mild, medium or hot for dishes. We will definitely order again. Highly recommend.

“Lovely bit of curry” - my husband. We visited here during a weekend break, the restaurant was packed so you know it’s good! We were served by attentive and polite staff and the food times were very quick! We had vegetarian korma, vegetarian rogan josh, two portions of rice and a cheese naan. There were lots of vegetarian choices on the menu, including the option to upgrade vegetable sides to mains. The restaurant was clean and the price was reasonable. What more do you want?

Ordered for the second time from here, both times forgot the rice. This time the food was awful tandoori mixed grill was dry and tough, korma was all sauce and not much chicken, peswari nann was ok and only decent part was the poppadoms and pickle tray. £40 just to be thrown in the bin. Never again

We went in by chance. They had a table available. Seems reservations might be advised. Was apparent they do carry out. Food was excellent, even tho i have never had to select & buy my rice for an indian dish, but it was worth it.

By far the superior dining establishment Matlock has to offer. Elegant, clean, sophisticated interior. Professional, pleasant, helpful staff all dressed impeccably. Excellent and thoroughly delicious food. Highly recommend this place.

Very prompt delivery (earlier than said but that was good) and really tasty curry. Would definitely order again.

A welcoming environment, with a clean modern feel. Delicious poppadoms and subtle homemade pickles. We shared an onion bhaji with a garnish that was fresh and clean. Our mains were "The world's best Chicken Tikka Masala", which we agreed with, and subtle and light chicken saag. We will return.

A great introduction to Just Eat. I have eaten in the Balti Restaurant but this was first home delivery. The food was excellent and arrived hot and well packaged.

The food was piping hot and delicious, I ordered 2 x raita, as normally you'd get it in a small cup (from other places) from here you get a tub full ( enough for 4 people). Definitely value for money, I recommend them to every balti fan. Thankyou 😊

Regularly get takeaway from The Balti and recently the quality of the takeaway has been fantastic with really tasty and well executed dishes. Delivery drivers are friendly, and food is always delivered on time.

Before ordering the time was estimated at 45 mins to an hour.. after ordering and paying it was estimated up to two hours! I couldn’t find a way to cancel and the restaurant number was constantly unavailable. Then the food was over half an hour late .. so from ordering to delivery it was nearly 3hours wait ! Eating at nearly 10pm was not what we had in mind. The food when it arrived was excellent and such a shame it was too late to enjoy it .

Awful! Still waiting for the food and it's been over an hour. Actually went to the restaurant and nothing was offered to me other than the driver had already left. Requested refund for all items since it hasn't arrived.

Great food as always. Pickle tray missing, which was a bit annoying, but as we saved a bit by using the stamp scheme, it wasn't worth complaining about, will still go back.

We went with friends. The restaurant was busy and I can see why. The service was great and the food was delicious. Portions are quite big and so we shared some. The hot fish was great. All the food looked really good. I hate going to Indian restaurants where all the food looks the same. This was not the case here. Definitely worth a visit.

Food was delicious. Breads were amazing! Delivery took 1.5hrs but this was understandable on a Saturday night in thick snow... I was impressed. Definitely would order from them again.

Food was delivered quickly and early however the claim that’s it’s the best tikka masala or your money back is quite brave ….. it’s probably the worst tikka masala we’ve tasted ever … to be fair most of the dishes were quite bland and lacked flavour … I’ll update if the challenge is honoured ! We’ve eaten in various towns across the country and have never been this disappointed ……

Quick delivery time. Mixed starter sat in a lot of oil which took away the flavour of the meats - kebab the best by far. Amazing pickles and garlic naan. Garlic chilli lamb didn't seem hot (spice) but I have a cold so that could just be me! Saag aloo amazing as always. Love the generous sized portions and looking forward to saag aloo on toast in the morning.

Stayed at a nearby hotel and fancied an Indian, so decided to give this one a try. We got the Tikka Masala, very excited by the claim that it was "Guaranteed to be the best you've ever tasted or your money back." However, it just...wasn't. The curry didn't pack much flavour and was a little on the thin side. We also got a Korma, which was a similar story to the Tikka Masala. Dry chicken, watery and the sauce itself was pretty bland. Not terrible, but disappointing nonetheless. The remainder of the meal was mediocre, but delivery was prompt and food was hot.

Food was lovely as always, although a little confused by the mild,medium and hot options as we’ve never had these in restaurant before. Would say go Hot for the Jalfrezi not medium like we did and not exactly sure what difference this makes to a Saag. Do not be mistaken though, food quality is always top.
