Absolutely amazing meal tonight, was cooked to perfection 🥰

Collected food and honestly the food was far below acceptable the rice wasn't fried boiled beef rice. The noodles were dry and chicken was tough and crispy. The bbq sauce and the Chinese sauce were the same this gravy tasting oily wet mess tasteless and oily the chips were fat ridden and nothing on the inside. Honestly a disgrace and when I called to say we really didn't like any of the food the lady got defensive and dismissive. I asked for a particular refund as the food from the plates were given to the dog so we had plenty left. Rude as he'll and when collecting the half refund the owner and his wife mainly his wife swearing shouting non stop in her language. Completely showed themselves up and embarrassing food to say the least happily never go there again.

Always my go to Chinese takeaway. The food is fresh and well cooked, tasty and reasonably priced. Also the staff are friendly and efficient. Thank you Matley Takeaway

Never again.... Chilli beef tasted fishy was hot when I asked not to be, Bbq sauce bland, chicken chow mein tasteless!! & expensive.. What a waste of money....

Great quality Chinese food! Slight adjustments to standard dishes accommodated. Lemon chicken sauce separate so chicken still crispy👍, crispy shredded beef was the crispiest I’ve ever had! Many thanks!

Just ordered the rice in bbq sauce with mixed meat. No bbq sauce, so dry and 2 pieces of dry meat and 1 prawn on top. Have you changed cooks? I won't be coming again. Usually lovely. I bought it for my husband for a treat. So disappointed. Not cheap either!

Updated 2023 April. Used again while at showground. Food was excellent. Well seasoned and well cooked. Very fast delivery. Not from the area. Phoned for delivery to the showground as we were trading at an event.The deliveryy driver was great and phoned to meet me ahead of the estimated time. Food was excellent. I'm really fussy about Chinese food but this was great. Well cooked, well seasoned and hot. Can thoroughly recommend using this takeaway. Will use again when next here.

Had my 1st meal here a few weeks ago. Was not impressed with the taste of food.

Terrible! Ordered sweet and sour chicken, ribs, bamboo chicken and some beef dish. Sweet and Sour Chicken was inedible - hard and chewy, probably been reheated few times. Half of the ribs with no meat just some chewy cartilage, beef meat didn't taste fresh at all, did wonder hold old it was, bamboo Chicken dish - had just a few peaces of chicken. £36 waisted, absolute rip off, no wonder this place had 0 star food rating just recently, If I knew about the rating I would never ordered anything from them in the first place!

Very tasty, hot, arrived on time. Very pleased.

The website said it would be 20mins. I waited for an hour before asking where it was. As they hadn’t started on mine I cancelled the order. In that time lots of people complaining about waiting an hour and a half but other people just strolling in and getting their orders faster. It was chaos, they should have stopped taking orders if they were too busy. I’ve been before when it was quiet and the food was decent, but this just ruined our plans for the evening.

Beef smells n tastes of fish, chips over cooked very dry. We won’t order from here again

Given wrong item - got shouted at when I rang up about it - not sure which part of noodles they didn't understand. Had to go back and pretty much got the correct item thrown at me - no apology nothing. Given the attitude from the girl and appearance of the replacement I dare not eat it so it will be going in the bin.

Matley has been my local for years, and I am a big fan. Love their chilli ribs and chilli prawns, and my kids always ask for fried ho fun! Staff are friendly and food is cooked quickly. Highly recommend.

Our usual Chinese closed due to lack of staff. Thought we’d try this one because of the fab reviews and wished we hadn’t bothered. The worst Singapore chow mien I’ve ever had. Chicken curry was tasteless. Battered chicken balls more batter than chicken. One star as ribs were nice but the rest went in the bin. If you want quality save your money and go to Tasty House Orton Waterville.

Lovely food and great service. I ran out of time delivering at lidl rdc and had to park up for the night with no food and after ringing two other takeaways before these and was told they wouldn't deliver to me I was about to give up but I then tried these and they delivered no problem what's so ever and the food was great too.

best chinese ive tried yet;went there today for the first time to get some squid and honestly i think a higher life has to eat this

Excellent Chinese takeaway and my go-to Chinese takeaway in Peterborough. I appreciate this may seem strange to most but I am partial to a decent fish dish - namely sweet and sour fish. I am also a fan of tofu cooked well and this takeaway certainly caters to both of these! On another note, I am put off by fried rice that is too oily/greasy. This is not the case here - give the chicken fried rice a try! Easy to use website and quick delivery!

Have used this place many times and always been happy with both the service and food but unfortunately had a very bad experience here on new years eve. Ordered food online at 5.30pm and was informed ready to collect in 30mins (Great!) . Arrived and place was in total chaos with lots of irate customers waiting for their orders ,some who had ordered the previous day for collection!. On arrival was told at least another 45min wait ( o.k , it is new years eve and very busy ) Other customers came and went ordering direct at the counter, we have now been in the place for nearly an hour , only to be told it would be another 45mins at which point we got a refund. If you expect to be this busy ,fine but inform online and phone collection orders wait will be very long ,then you wont have 20 plus angry customers standing in your tiny takeaway during a pandemic! . Also an apology to all those patient customers goes a long way too. Sadly you didn't seem concerned with that part only taking as many orders that you couldn't complete , greed before service unfortunately. Will not be using again.

First time ordering from Matley enjoyed our meal of egg fried rice, chicken balls, and chicken chowmain was nice we got a lot for what we payed and we very much enjoyed it all.

This place gave me E-Coli stomach bacteria about 9 months ago. Only just got round to having anti-biotics for it. Steer well clear.

Have just had a Chinese takeaway delivered by Matley Chinese. Waiting time approx 15 minutes. Food lovely and hot and was delicious. Will definitely use them again.

Always great! Clean inside, lovely staff and super fast service. Been my local for around 3 years now and they never fail to deliver great food! My partner and I have gone vegan in this time and these guys offer some great options - just ask (recommend the curry beancurd or salt and pepper beancurd).

Local independent Chinese take away, full menu of the usual dishes , some "English " selections available , cans of drink, local delivery available, clean and tidy.

Friendly staff, waited a while so assume it was freshly cooked, delicious!

Nice and helpful team, great food. Always very efficient and quick to put your order together. Never had to wait for very long to get our order no matter how busy they are. Would recommend any day!

Just had a meal from matley Chinese. And can probably say the best Chinese in the area, can taste all the separate elliments of the food. And the home service very good.

We used Matley for the first time 29th August 2017 and it was the best I have ever tasted, they were prompt and it was fresh and hot when it arrived, everything was eaten and loads of comments on how tasty it all was and the Ribs are to die for they were not dry or hard they were so fresh and moist. I could write all day on how much we enjoyed the food.
