Master Chef in Croydon

It’s always difficult when choosing a Chinese restaurant that you aren’t familiar with. However we took the risk and believe me when I say: high risk, high reward. The food was sublime. We’ll start with the aromatic duck: whilst it comes uncut, you feel a sense of manhood cutting it up like it’s a Turkey on Christmas Day. So soft to cut and to eat. Alongside the cucumber, plum sauce and wrap created the perfect duck wrap. The chow mein was delicious and the portions were very generous! The same goes for the rice. I particularly loved the sweet and sour chicken which was complimented perfectly in the sauce it came in. Don’t get me started on the chips. The star of the show! Chips can definitely bring down the mood if they are poorly received whether that be too crispy or burnt or unsalted. But these chips were perfectly perfect in every way. If only the saying was ‘a bag of chips a day keeps the doctor away’! 10/10 will definitely be returning!

nitially I used these guys and I really enjoyed the food, so when I ordered again I was really surprised to get sent the wrong order. When I called them to explain, they initially denied it. After a lot of debate they agreed to send me a new one. The issue being the rest of my food was going cold in the mean time. They advised it would be at least 20 minutes. I asked if they could refresh it all given they made the mistake but they refused, they told me to eat some of it now and some of it later.... I mean a bowl of plain noodles without the main is really tasty right?? I didn't mind the mistake, but the response to the mistake was massively unreasonable. The food might typically be good, but I cant endorse a food establishment that doesn't look after its customers. For the record, its also been half an hour and the replacement still hasn't arrived

Finest Chinese food I have had. I recommend Master Chef in every way and have been going there for years. I also get my Fish & Chips from them. Long may they remain Phillip

Our Friday night go to, plus the odd other occasion Great friendly service from Elaine and the team, our favourite Chines food.

Ordered the delivery service,(live approx 2.5 miles away) excellent delivery within the time stated & was still very hot. Portion sizes generous. Lovely large king prawn balls. Only little gripe for me was the chicken used was very chewy almost artificial looking, but I will definitely use them again.

Meal was belivered on time, plenty for 12 people ,very tasty and lots of different dishes we have not had before, It was hot when delivered.second time from this takeaway both have been excellent. Phone ordering was straight forward, staff where nice and helpful, we will make this our permanent takeaway.10/10

Chinese food take away place that has decent fish n chips....... Other items that i recomend will be aromatic spicy lamb with rice. The lamb is juicy and delicious, my husband's favorite. Other items in the menu, im not so sure

Found this place by accident as we were fed up with our local Chinese being mediocre. That was 5 years ago and, when ordering in, we wouldn't go elsewhere. We've never ordered a dish that wasn't hot and delicious, the portions are also good. The staff are great though and always remember our usual order (no shrimp) even before we've asked for it! We order regularly throughout the year and every Christmas eve, when all the relatives turn up and we're saving our kitchen for the next day! Everyone compliments how lovely to meal was and look forward to it every year now! I will say that, maybe they are a little too popular now as the delivery time has increased significantly now to when we first began eating here, which is a shame and definitely effects how often we use the place. I do miss our Chinese treat but, if you can wait, it's worth it!

Our regular Chinese in Sanderstead had changed hands and got expensive. Tried Master Chef on the back of trip Advisor reviews and really pleased we did. Tasty, generous portions and really reasonable. Will definitely be going back.

This take away does both fish & chips & chinese food shop The chinese side of the take away serves generous servings of authentic food cooked quickly giving both value for money & food that is of a good quality Parking can be tough but I am sure that they do deliveries as Isaw their driver being given food bags

Yo y mi marido estuvo de acuerdo que este es, de lejos, el más delicioso para llevar y no mezquino chino en la ciudad. Servicio de atención al cliente era excelente y el sabor de la comida habla por sí mismo. Sin duda volveremos para probar diferentes menús. Estoy curioso de pescado y patatas fritas.

Mejor pescado y patatas fritas que he tenido y volveré a probar otros alimentos. Hay otro fish and chips en la misma carretera y la comida es asquerosa y no entiendo por qué la gente perder su dinero. Aquí es tan Gi mucho mejor

This is a good local take away place. The ladies are friendly. The food is nice and good portion sizes. They also do delivery.

Just a quick review to say that this is a really nice chinese takeaway and you shouldn't hesitate about ordering from here. We've been ordering for many years and never been let down. The prices are reasonable, portions are good and the quality is excellent. The owners are very friendly as well and now know us by name which is nice.Keep up the good work Master Chef

Such friendly people and some of the best fish and chips around . And the cost was very reasonable compared to other fish and chip shops around 5 star .

They seriously do the best fish and chips around, despite another fish and chip shop being a few doors down.Their Chinese is delicious too. I'm always weary of places doing more than one kind of cuisine but they definitely know what they are doing! I have never had a bad meal from here and always recommend it to others. They are super friendly and have excellent customer service skills. I would eat from here ever day if I could but my bank balance and waistline won't allow it lol

I have been using this takeaway for about 10 years now I think, and they have never let us down. The food is cooked fresh, the vegetables and meat are always of consistent good quality, and the service is quick. Most Chinese dishes you expect to see are on the menu, and they are of a much better quality than you might expect from a takeaway hidden up off the highstreet. I have recommended them dozens of times over the years, and don't hesitate to do so again. They also do a lovely fish and chips.

Since moving to Sanderstead just over two years ago I have tried and tested nearly all restaurants and take-aways. This place is just incredible. The food is out of this world fresh and well cooked. I highly recommend the special chow mein, roasted duck, salt king prawns, chicken and cashews.... I could go on. The staff are wonderfully friendly and the food is ready for collection in about half an hour. Absolutely love. Please note: this is only a takeaway it is not a sit down restaurant. Although they should make it into one it's that amazing! So only try this place if you're actually devouring it elsewhere.
