Chinese Express in Croydon

Food is really nice. My go to order is: Egg fried rice, chicken chow mein, beef in black bean sauce, sweet and sour chicken balls & it never disappoints. King Prawn balls are good too. Food is always fast, you don’t wait around for long and their portions are decent.

Food has got flavour but their attitude stinks and customer service is terrible, if you live in a flat they won’t deliver to your door you have to go downstairs, the driver is lazy !

Banging food ,taste how chinese food from old time places. Really recommend 5 *

I had food from here 3 times in total To be precise on Sunday I was rolling on the floor vomiting, stomach cramp uncontrolled diahera the ambulance had to be called , in the end I was diagnosed with food poisoning. I was again doubting it was the food from here as I had other meals again to my surprise and demise we brought food tonight again my God I was awaken from my sleep NY son collapses on the floor vomiting and diahera to the point even vomiting blood all within 3 days apart .as am writing this he's still in the toilet why on earth are people so wicked. We had the following That special fried rice wings that looked doggy salt and pepper ribs, chinese style pork , duck in black bean sauce, am now awaiting the ambulance for my son what a wickedness !coming to spend our hard earn money with you shame on you ,I will report you to food standard agency.you people will kill people one day they are some serious failings here you have a 5star however I don't believe that rating, as food stored properly and cooked properly you should never experience this Failings you put profit in front of you clients welfare and I find that disturbing you a should be prosecuted. Please avoid run 🏃‍♂️ 🙏 😢 😔 😭

Great food always hot and on time would'nt eat anywhere else.

The food is mostly ok but I can't help noticing that the special fried rice tastes as though its been reheated rather than cooked fresh. I like the there's an add chilli option to the rice which is my favorite dish but just the freshness of the food let's this place down a bit. Other than that a great restaurant with lots of choices on the menu.

My second time of eating there special fried rice and King prawn fried rice, they got a good taste of spicy sauce which I love but the rice doesn't taste fresh and hard to shew , rice is half boiled which I don't like . Please improve on make good fresh boiled rice everyday Please. We like to ear local food .

After messing me about re delivery driver or none, the woman cook and who is sometimes behind counter became threatening and truly aggressive. What we have had last couple of times is not fresh. It is heated up from large fridges at the back of restaurant which you can glimpse if you use the side street at back of restaurant. There is also a serious hygiene problem and this is a public health emergency. Because we want to support our local business we gingerly tried again which sadly was a HUGE mistake. Food made us sick. Should have followed gut instinct and stayed away. Very poor standards. STAY AWAY for your own health.

Best chinese ever by far. Very quick delivery - always within the guide time provided. Staff very friendly. Smoked shredded chicken and grilled pork dumplings are our favourite dishes.

I couldn’t believe that such a place exists. The food is PIPING HOT whenever it arrives and is very tasty. I love the Chow Mein, Special Fried Rice, King Prawn Fried Rice, especially very spicy 🌶. I always have it once a week(Tuesdays) Until you try it, you will not believe it.

I visit this place a lot since I work right next to it. I like how their customer service is always excellent and they keep the place well organized all the time. Rates are affordable and they serve large portions.

We enjoy going out. Yesterday we found this superb place which friends recommended to us. We had a lovely evening there with first-rate meal and a well-trained team and a great chef. We put this restaurant in our phone list and we shall certainly come back soon. We highly recommend.

Staff were rude when I asked "How long more do i need for food"? After 25 mins waiting, kitchen staff rush to counter to hand over my food. I notice, kitchen staff nails were dirty. VERY DIRTY. No care for hygiene. I wonder, How clean is their kitchen if their kitchen staff were not clean them self. They just want money, but not cleanness.

Pure rubbish food. Half cooked meat and also I saw moving mice in Kitchen. When I pointed out about mice to staff, they were very rude. Never ever again visit this place again. Shame!!!!

Me and mum have been useing your Restaurant for years meany years and yellow been Source was not up to scratch it was cold when it arrived it was tasteless and not up to your usual good standard your prawn balls was soft and we very not happy with the service we will be going eles where untill its meet its standards Thank you from ben Underwood

We have been using this take away for about 20 yrs..we ordered a £ 40 take away this November..it took an hour and a half it was warm and the prawn balls were soft the yellow bean sauce was runny the sweet and sour was runny it was horrible .. I think this take away has suddenly gone right down hill .. thanks for the last 20 years but you have lost our custom your food is disgusting now .. worse than all the other disgusting take away.. now we have to find another one and we have used most of them and we dont like the ones we have tried and your takeaways have fallen into their disgusting standards .

Food was very quick only reason getting two star food was a 1 but in my opinion the reason it was so quick was it was already cooked because it was cold no excuse really as it's only down the road I did not enjoy the food and I was really hungry so even a meal what ain't that good would of tasted great first and last time I will order from here.

I have lived in this area for a few years and never tried this restaurant until January of this year. I am so glad I did because their food is absolutely amazing. I am a one trick pony so I always get the same thing at all times. I have introduced work colleagues and family members and now they always go there... there salt and pepper chicken wings with egg fried rice cooked in soy sauce and chilli is my all time Favourite, I also love their noodles cooked in blackbean sauce... I am yet to try other dishes which I might do soon. But all in all the best Chinese takeaway I have come across in the Croydon area

OUTSTANDING MEAL. We had house special curry with Singapore rice. The curry had nice lot of meat in it taste gougouse . Plus house special fried rice with sweet/sour chicken balls portions are huge . Recommend to everyone. Best Chinese in Croydon. 5 Stars . YOU WONT BE DISPOITED.

Our family favourite monthly take away. Always early to deliver, always fresh + tasty. We never eat-in just order over the telephone. Inside is typical take away Chinese decor. Very polite lady on the phone, good value too. Highly recommend.

Worst takeaway I’ve ever experienced!! Informed 30 mins for delivery and food arrives 1 hour and 30 mins later!! TRIED TO CANCEL MY ORDER AND STAFF ARE RUDE TO ME ON THE PHONE INFORMING I SHOULD HAVE CANCELLED EARLIER! Earlier when exactly?? When they keep informing me it is on the way. AVOID

Nasty people, i usually order from them and okay. this time they messed up my order giving me the wrong thing when i called they came and gave my order and the lady aggressively said she wants the wrong item back. Will NEVER go back to them again. Digusting people!!!!!!!

Croydon University Hospital A&E department staff wanted to order before our night shift and was told no as the driver has had no shows before. we are STAFF !!!! Not very NHS friendly and their loss as the entire A&E department was going to order tomorrow NYE when all working nights again...... especially as we all worked Christmas Day Thank you for your support..... I came to Chinese Express for a takeaway meal whilst at work and ordered the chicken dish with cashew nuts, boiled rice and some prawn crackers. This cost me £10, which for a takeaway, is in my opinion massively overpriced, the chicken was like jelly in texture and taste, it was absolutely rancid. It must have come from a can, but it definitely wasn't like any chicken I've ever eaten before. The rice was okay, but then again you can't really get this wrong. Overall, I would definitely say this is somewhere to avoid!

Foods never dissapointing and diliverys fast highly recommended. Great tasting food the chefs needs a pat on the back. Ordered singapore noodles, spicy beef and special fried rice so far all have been high quality, great seasonings and good tastes fresh and not microwaved warmed like some chinese. Good stuff, hard to beat hard to compete with. Will be buying here for many moons.

Popped in for a special fried rice for lunch while at work. Arguably the best I have ever tasted, also the cheapest price I have seen in any Chinese takeaway. Very impressed.

Food has always been tasty; have been ordering from here for years. Standard's always the same. Pick up in 15 mins; amazing. Delivery good as well . I have moved further from this restaurant so can't get delivery however I don't mind collecting.

Best one on the road.. but compared to alot of places, it is very average. Not bad for a local one and the place seems clean.

A lovely visit for take out excellent people friendliness and funny a very tasty meal will definitely be back for more very good quality Chinese Thai and Malaysian selection on the menu.

We don't usually have a takeaway midweek but fancied one tonight. We tried to order from our local Chinese takeaway but discovered it wasn't open on a Tuesday. We tried a couple of others and either couldn't get through or they didn't accept credit cards so eventually settled on this one. We were all pleasantly surprised as the food was very tasty and was delivered promptly. We ordered kung po chicken, crispy chilli beef, salt and pepper chicken, Singapore noodles and egg fried rice and enjoyed all of it and can honestly say that the food was better than our usual Chinese takeaway that we have been ordering from for years. The only negative is that the complimentary cola was neither Coca-Cola or Pepsi as it was a budget brand. Obviously as myself and my huband are foodies and go many different types of restaurants including Michelin Starred establishments the score reflects our view of the food compared to other Chinese takeaways and not to high end restaurants. However, we love takeaway and I would definitely recommend it to others and will also certainly be ordering from there again.

This is the best Chinese take away ever, I have used it for about 12-15 years and is never disappointed My son is very unhappy if we cant order from here. I absolutely love it . It is also a sit down Chinese Restaurant , but its very small and out of the way . I dont think I would have a sit down in there , but for a take away its THE BEST. The service is good the food is Fabulous, they try and do dishes the way you like them , the staff are very friendly and if you're a regular they recognise that . Its my FIRST and usually only choice when it comes to Chinese take away , I would say its Excellent , I just wish the restaurant was a tad larger, as its very small and a little like a chippy when you go in , you may think its just a waiting area, but you can have a sit down in there if you're alone or with one other. However TAKE AWAY FOOD IS ABSOLUTELY DELISH !!! FANTASTIC AND I CANT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT ITS LOVELY FOOD Everyone who has eaten with me when we have had a take away from here has liked it lots .

Me and my family have been using this takeaway for years now! The food is perfect, and cheap, you always get big potions, like the large rice is plenty for two people. I would strongly recommend it, best in South London.👌🏽 The only thing is, it's closed on random days, like Friday's, Sunday's and Mondays, which is disappointing as those are the days I know a lot of people like a takeaway.
