Masons Arms in City of London, Westminster

This place might be good for a quick pint after work. But not great food. It took a bit for everyone's food to come out. Most of it was over done and a bit dried out from possibly sitting under heat lamps. The chicken was flavoured well, but the meat tough. The steak and ale pie was mediocre at best. The fish and chips were rather bland.

An excellent find....lovely food and staff very good. Busy which is always a good sign. We will return when next in London.

Thank you to all the Staff and to the Manager for a truly magical Christmas. This is the most generously and efficiently run place I have stayed in, starting with all the staff who work really hard to accommodate everyone whilst maintaining a pub atmosphere for all to enjoy. The room was immaculate and very well furnished with real attention to detail. Thank you to all ‘Housekeepers’! Brilliant job!It doesn’t get better than that. The outdoor fire-pits and twinkly lights a great touch! Lovely that dogs are welcome. The Chefs did a great job with the Christmas lunch and breakfasts. All delicious with lots of choice. Three cheers to the Kitchen Staff!! The Waiting Staff clearly chosen carefully for the job. They are always full of cheer, very attentive and make you very welcome. The dining rooms and tables looked lovely! Thank you all again! We will be back!

A brilliant, Christmas lunch experience!(21/12/24) An early lunch, before, a Christmas matinee. My family&me, were so delighted with the 'feel' of the pub. Great, Christmas decorations, food(best, fish and chips I've had in a pub) and superb staff attitude...so, 'value added'! We(family) visit for Christmas each year and always go somewhere different to have lunch. From, now on it'll be 'The Mason's Arms'!! Well done! A step back in time. One room, dimly lit, happy patrons chatting and laughing. The modern touches are the clean bathroom, quick service and good quality food inclusive of dietary restrictions. Can't wait to return for a Sunday roast!

Great food and service. The manager was very friendly and helpful as we dined here with some friends who visited from the US. We ate upstairs, and the place felt almost private. The menu was tasty and there was plenty of choice to satisfy everyone.

Booked a table in advance, Two adults one child for 12 o’clock. The staff were friendly and welcoming the food was plentiful and very tasty overall a good experience the only down side was the kids menu showed online was not available could only do the fish and chips,no ciabatta bread sandwiches or squid available. It would have been a five star review apart from that as everything else was great.

A day trip to London and I found this little gem tucked down a side street. Amazing atmosphere when we walked in, dining area upstairs where we were greeted by a very cheerful gentleman, food was beautiful, service was fantastic, considering how busy they were there was no wait for food or drinks. Already planning another visit in January, think this may be my new favourite pub, thank you.

We think we've been before once in the dim and distant. This time we realised there was another bar upstairs which was not so crowded and we were able to have a table. Very personable chap serving also tried to remember our round at the second asking. He got it slightly wrong (white pinot instead of pink). We didn't mind and I didn't say anything but a moment after I'd sat back down he appeared and apologised as he'd realised and did we want to have what we actually ordered? We declined and said no need but well done sir.

We had a private function for 23 at the Mason Arms and everyone complemented the venue, food and service. David the Landlord was an excellent host and made the whole event easy and fun to organise. Many thanks!!!

Nice little pub in a quiet street. Good choice of beer and the food was very good. Would recommend the meat pie and the fish and chips. The chicken sandwich was just okay.

Traditional pub on the corner of this popular street. Slightly tired “Ye Olde Worlde” pub with a largely ornate wooden interior. Not too many seats and perhaps there are more upstairs int it was shut for a private event. Quite loud in there but nice enough for a “not so quiet” drink.

Very cozy. Unfortunately the onion rings were too greasy. The food was otherwise very good. Recommended!

The pub was not as crowded and noisy as others in the area. There is no difference in price between them. Unfortunately, it has already closed at 11 pm.

I've enjoyed many Sunday roasts, but this time I had the pleasure of introducing someone very special to their first one. She absolutely loved the variety of vegetables that came with the vegetarian roast, especially the cauliflower, which she thought was amazing. All the flavors blended together harmoniously. It was a great first experience, with wonderful company, delicious food, and a warm atmosphere with very friendly staff. Highly recommend:

Great beer really poor service! Bar staff came up to my table when I was drinking saying that my payment had not gone through. It turns out that it had so I have now paid twice and are still waiting for their CS to refund the duplicate payment. Second time this has happened to me in central London albeit in another pub! Update - manager contacted me and sorted out my refund with their finance department. I have been back since with no issues so does appear to have been an one off incident.

Lovely pub with amazing staff. My family and I tasted almost everything of the menu during our stay in London. The onion rings were the best we ever had. Unique, cozy atmosphere. For sure we will come back when being in London next time!

I visited here Saturday 31st August, I asked a lady called Agata who worked there a couple of questions about the cask beers and the menu, What an absolutely delightful lady , very knowledgeable ,polite and charming. An asset to your Company.

Great location being very near to Oxford Circus with nice food. The only downside I would happen to say is the range of beers they have on taps behind the bar.

You know, not the 1st time here and surely not the last... The place is nice, the food is fantastic, and the service is amazing. Here's one of the few places we could find still ciders with different flavours, not to mention the pulled beef croquettes and outstanding beef and raclette pie with merlot beef dripping and gravy.

Great central London bar, especially when the weather is good.

Pint after work either inside or out with an upstairs bar too. Hard to fault. Gets super busy of the sun shines (so occasionally in London!)

Lovely traditional pub in a great location

I had the pea and mint soup with ciabatta bread, which was very tasty. The fish and chips were also very good. The service was very friendly and polite. The Old Mount Cider in Pineapple & Raspberry was nice and refreshing and fruity, just as I had hoped. The beer is also good. The ambience was also nice. The volume of the background music was pleasant, making it easy to have a conversation.

Lovely food, great beer and a wonderful atmosphere. The staff and landlord truly excellent. A fabulous watering hole just a few yards off the beaten track of London bustle.

This is our go to bar when we visit London for a spot of shopping and require a half time break. Considering its location, it’s really fairly priced. Not eaten in here myself, but they serve food and what came out looked really good. Really well maintained and clean with loads of wood panelling which give it a “proper”old tavern feel. We’re a family of 5 so it can be a struggle to find somewhere to sit if it’s busy, as the downstairs is small but I think there’s an upstairs dining area too? I could be wrong. As it’s a small pub, the toilets are also a bit of a squeeze. Will bisit again on our next shopping trip.

A great place to relax and enjoy a drink and a meal with your family.

We wanted somewhere close to the Palladium for a pre theatre meal but also somewhere quieter than the many ram packed places near the venue. First impressions on a sunny Friday teatime were potential dismay with the pub front thronged with drinkers. This however turned to pleasant surprise as we were shown upstairs to the relatively empty dining room. From that point, can’t fault anything. Service was fast, drinks great (lovely pint of Abbot) and the food followed quickly and was just what we wanted. The team seemed stretched but still managed to give excellent service. When we left the throng had become a huge crowd spreading all over the nearby pavements. The Masons Arms is obviously doing something right.

2nd time visiting . Unbelievable steak , great portion size and cooked perfectly . Very good value for money and attentive and approachable staff.

Lovely pub, had a nice pint of plum porter, and listened to their eclectic taste in music. Can't imagine any other pub in the world that would play the theme from the Flashing Blade closely followed by Curtis Mayfield

For Every trip in London with my daughter we are used to have at least one lunch at the masons (downstairs). We really like this pub. The boss is very cool and nice.

Really lovely, small pub. We visited on a Sunday lunchtime and it was reasonably busy, but we got a table without booking. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The burger and pie were excellent and the chips and gravy were absolutely phenomenal! So good to have real gravy, not from a packet! We will definitely be back!

We went there on a Friday night and had visitors from out of town. It's just a touristy spot. The upstairs is actually nicer and quiet. The menu was very limited. They didn't have anything we wanted to order (half the menu is run out), and the food was so and so. Good Guinness, though but overall nothing special.

Really don't know where to start. What a friendly boozer. The staff were so welcoming and very helpful. It's not often you go to a busy bar and have such professionalism with who's been served next and even tenner what your drinks was. The locals were also welcoming too. Definitely be going back

Typical pub with superb frontage and interior decoration, real London charm. The food is very good.

Nipped in for a pint as the pub look a bit qwerky, which it is. Lovely little pub, really nice and welcoming. We only went in for drinks, but if we are ever back in the area, we will defo have food as it looks so tasty.

The most Christmassy pub in London! We had a table booked upstairs which was just lovely. Very relaxing, great service, nothing too much trouble. We then went downstairs, Maddy (duty manager) was awesome, table was cleaned, again nothing too much trouble, great music. We all love this pub!

Extremely delicious steak and ale pie... My friend chose macaroni and cheese and said it was the best she tried ever. Given the location it's very very reasonably priced
