Maseys Cafe in North Lincolnshire

not impressed.... me and my family went to our local, as it's normally decent but today the menu is now limited when in the cafe. (even though website says otherwise) waited over 25 mins for food, on my breakfast it had hot hash browns and eggs but the bacon was luke warm, the beans were cold and the sausages had a weird texture to them. My mum had ordered a butty with bacon AND mushrooms, but yet it came with an egg (even though she didn't order it) 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ whilst we'd had our food there were people who had been waiting for collection of orders since we'd been sat down. Then also local workers were waiting just as long in a queue for food, felt like donating some of mine to them but even then i wouldnt wish it on them to eat it🤦🏻‍♀️🙃 Felt sorry for the poor woman who had been waiting for food she even had ordered similar time to us, other people had their food given to them or served but yet she was still waiting too. For a place that used to be sh*t on it if something went wrong, they've really let themselves down and just gone wrong. update: an hours wait even though the menu has been simplified?!

After being a customers, from when Maseys first opened back in the day, I'm afraid to say this will be our last. Obviously new owners, new idea's, I get that but there are limits. We ordered small breakfast's as usual, the cost was roughly the same as before however that's were the similarities stopped. When the breakfasts came, you could tell they had been cooked for a while (we were the only people there) the Lincolnshire sausage were tasteless, the black pudding had reduced from two slices per serving, down to one each, the toast had also reduced to one slice from two per serving. . Never the less we gave them the benefit of the doubt. We drank our coffee's and went back to get the free top up's, only to be told that we had to pay for additional coffee's. And that to us, was the final straw. as the combined cost of the breakfasts and the additional coffee's has increased the total cost of the visit by over fifty percent. So we have decided to move onto pastures new. ps on a personal note, they no longer provide HP sauce either lol

We just recently came back from Scotland and the Scottish breakfast here at Maseys is far superior! Catered well for gluten intolerance. Clean, courteous staff. Lovely 😊

Been here before and had a good Sunday lunch but today the shop was so busy with on line orders that the standard of food served was below par.The food was served cold which I returned to be given another Sunday lunch my partners chicken was sour and couldn’t eat it my roast beef was that chewy it nearly chocked me hence we left in disgust and won’t be visiting agaib

I can never go to Scunthorpe without visiting here for a large breakfast and coffee. I have always given this place rave reviews and promote it whenever eating places are brought up, but on this occasion I was disappointed. The eggs were hard, no possibility to have a dip in to at all, hard! The Lincolnshire sausage are markedly smaller than what they used to serve but must admit that they've gone back to the quality they used to be prior to them not being able to get them anymore. I suspect that they are back to the original recipe and supplier but smaller. The bacon was drying on the sides probably due to not being as thick as previously. Being charged £7.00 for the breakfast with a mug of coffee is not overboard but could be better. As I said this might have been a blip and will certainly try it again when in Scunthorpe. Your reputation was second to none and I wouldn't do you justice if I didnt point this out on this occasion.

First visit here and it won’t be the last, hassle free and the food was fantastic and quickly delivered after I ordered. Clean and tidy with pleasant staff, a good example of how a cafe should be.

Been coming to Masey’s for years never fails to deliver good satisfying food. Friendly staff and great service.

I’m working here in Scunthorpe and on my day off went for breakfast here and it did not disappoint staff were amazing even took time to engage in a conversation with me even tho they were crazy busy. I took a seat and waiting around 5 mins for my food to come out which was splendid cooked perfect and all items hot and fresh nothing re heated will definitely be coming back here as long as I’m working up this way.

Well worth a visit. The range of food is outstanding. Service very quick even though the cafe is very busy. Great value for money. I had the medium breakfast and believe me i wasn't left wanting more, a real belly buster!

Excellent food with plenty of choice and customer service second to none. There is plenty of Parking at the venue. Decor is clean and modern. The coleslaw is to die for! If you haven't been you need to go!

Proper greasy spoon cafe, I mean that in the nicest way. Excellent food - lots of choice, good parking to the rear - superb tea / coffee. Open for Sunday lunch as well - good extraction so you don’t come out smelling.

This cafe takes orders for lunch deliveries so we ordered lunch for 25 people and made it clear at the time of ordering that we only had a half hour lunch break. We ordered days in advance and they agreed the delivery would arrive between 12.20-12.30 ready for our break at 12.30. It finally arrived at 12.55 Five minutes before we had to be back at work and with two lunches missing and most of the ones that actually arrived were cold and greasy. We had rang at 12.40 to see where our lunches were and was told they were just being boxed up. The cafe is not far from our work place and had this been true the lunches would have still been hot on arrival. Altogether a disappointing experience and wouldn’t recommend either their food or their service.

can’t go wrong with this place, great friendly staff and great big portion of food. they also deliver so win win right? you can also eat in ps - the breakfast wrap is amazing.

Not sure at first.... parking can be abit tricky. But the staff amazing. Was very busy especialy with take outs. But it didn't take them long to make our order of 2 medium breakfast's. So much for your money it's amazing. Defo going back! They do sunday lunches to take out too. Never knew such a gem was only 5 mins away! I erge you to take a visit. You will not be disappointed. Amazing!!! Well done team massey!!!!

Once again, a fantastic breakfast. I arrived a minute before closing but they still served me a wopping great breakfast. Couldn't fault it. Three of everything for around £6.00.

4 of us went out for breakfast before doing the weekly shop, always busy but well worth the wait. Order and pay before you eat, food delivered to your table. Food is good quality and piping hot. Various sizes of breakfast but the small is ample for me.

Great breakfast here ,superb choice and reasonable prices .Big portions and friendly staff .We cannot recommend this place more highly its clean and best of all the food is very tasty we will definitely call again.

Only ever have the breakfast. fresh,tasty and nice surroundings for a cafe situated on an industrial estate. Like the free newspapers - and the fact they are always the papers for the day you visit and not outdated!

I always come here if I want a amazing breakfast, never had a bad experience here. The breakfast is not greasy like in most other cafes staff are all really friendly would definitely recommend

One of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. Had a large breakfast without tomatoes... cooked to perfection!

Excellent food spoilt by the poor in house service. They seem to concentrate on serving takeaways before people eating in. Sat there for over 45 minutes after ordering, watching people walk in , order a take away, get their food then walk out. Tried ordering a takeaway a couple weeks later then couldn't get through because they had forwarded the phone number shown on their web site to a mobile which was switched off. Looking at previous comments on facebook they seem to do this when they are busy.

If you want an honest,well cooked breakfast with many choice this is the place. Not only are there various size differences of the traditional English you can even get American,Veggie, Breakfast Baps & Wraps. All are generous portions at very sensible prices.The service is quick and friendly and the premises are clean and tidy. You can tell how good it is by the number of takeaway breakfast items that are ordered

This cafe has to be the best place to get a breakfast fit for a king. I go everytime I am in Scunthorpe.

I had cheesy chips with jalapenos, there was 21 chips and ten mini slices of chilli, cheese was very nice, my other half had the medium breakfast, was all good except for concealed beans and sausages which were supposed to Lincolnshire but had a visible high water content, on the whole usually a great place but this time it was a miss not a hit.

So glad we found Maseys on our visit to Scunthorpe. Breakfast from here set us up for the day. Such good value with quick and friendly service. Great choice of well cooked meals in a clean welcoming cafe.

We went to Maseys cafe as we heard they did slimming world breakfasts. Was concerned it would be a "greasy spoon" but was pleasantly surprised. We had our infants with us so we sat in the back room. It was warm and clean. We ordered at the till and the lady who served is was most helpful. Ordered slimming world breakfast for myself, a few items for my 2 year old, and we both had drinks. Less than £8. They provided suitable cutlery for my son too. There was also baby change available and highchairs. Our food arrived in good time, and was fresh and hot. Portions were also good. Only negative I had was mushrooms seemed to be boiled. So very watery. Still ate them though. My son ate most of his too with no issues. Nice little place. We will be back.

Went very hesitantly to meet some friends for breakfast during school holidays, I was very unsure as it looks like a real truckers cafe..... To my surprise the breakfast was the best around this area and the staff were very friendly and quick to serve you, I would go back every day if my body could take the calories lol

I came here with my partner for a decent fry up as I had read the reviews and was fairly impressed. The food here is of a very good standard and the staff are very fast and efficient in their roles.A couple of minor gripes. I asked for the fried eggs to be scrambled rather than fried, which I deem to be a fair request but I was asked to pay an extra 60p per meal for scrambled egg, which considering I didn't even get to keep the fried egg, seemed a little excessive. I asked why it was going to cost me £1.20 just to beat a couple of eggs and she replied "well, we put a bit of milk in as well...". You can buy a 2 litre bottle of milk from the supermarket for around a pound so just how much bloody milk do you put in the eggs???Aside from that, the decor is a little off-putting, you are literally surrounded by advertisements, on the walls, on the tables, on the counters.If the food wasn't so good, Masey's would easily get a much lower score, but I really couldn't complain at the quality of food or the staff, both top notch.

I went with my daughter at the weekend before a day out of town shopping. she had a standard omelette and I had the breakfast version. Both were delicious but you could tell they were not Heinz beans and the coffee was not that good. Service was reasonably quick and the place was clean and decent prices.

only thing I can fault is some of the ingredients in the breakfast a little bit low brow, if you can get decent coffee, Baked Beans and HP sauce I'm moving in!!!

Quite a large unit in an industrial area. Doesn't look much from the outside, has a car park at the front and one round the back. Busy when we walked in (which is always a good sign) ordered food and drinks from the counter, which is then delivered to your table. Food was good quality and good portion sizes, all hot and cooked to order. Cafe area was spotless and staff very attentive, one of the best breakfasts I've had. Will definitely go again when I'm in sunny Scunny.

Called here on a Saturday as I was visiting a friend who lived in the area and she said she'd been before and loved it.Had the SMALL breakfast, which I would class as MEDIUM - excellent value for money and very tasty. The sausages were Lincolnshire sausages and not some cheap, tasteless mush. The whole breakfast was hot and well-presented - will definitely be going back,It's sort of a truck-stop cafe but is very clean and the service is good,

Great value and quality breakfasts, nothing massively fancy but if you want a cooked breakfast there is a lot of variety and has a classic cafe feel to it.

This is the best place to go for breakfast, the food is of a high standard with portions large enough to satisfy the hungriest person, they do a breakfast wrap that's out of this world.

Visited Maseys for the first time today and I defo will be going again. The food was lush well worth the money and we had our food within 10 mins of ordering. Would recommend Maseys to everyone.

Just called on the way into town yesterday ...I had a fully loaded chicken wrap and chips, my partner had a small breakfast... Both had a large mug of teaBoth meals arrived quickly and piping hot, both of us couldn't finish what we had orderedWhat more can I say then two meals that arrive fast and pipping hot for less then £15

I used to eat at different cafes but since trying Maseys this is the only place I will go even if I'm not working that side of town as the standards never change, the choice on the menu is so vast that you could eat something different everyday.The staff always seem friendly and nothing seems to be too much trouble, they don't mind if you want to change anything. If you haven't been you need to. If you go download their app as it allows you free tea or coffee.

Cool little cafe with well priced food. There is a chocolate labrador in a pen round the back that likes it when you feed it bits of sausage and bacon!!

Masey's is a nice, clean cafe and the breakfasts are spot on! The ingredients taste good quality and locally sourced, very cheap for such good quality too.Definitely a real boon for popping down to on hangover days.

This is a no thrills establishment with the best breakfast I have had in Scunthorpe. The staff are friendly and helpful. The place is constantly busy but you don't have to wait for long to have that consistently good food. Your not going to get a silver service but do you really want one when your having your breakfast.I have also in the past tried the other food which again is very good. Can't fault the pace for what it is. I will continue to eat here aslong as the food remains the top priority.

We have visited Maseys several times and would have to travel along way to find better quality food. Always plenty of staff. People were queuing but very quickly served. Brilliant service and very friendly staff. Nothing is too much at Maseys and I would recommend trying it, you won't be disappointed. Have a Yankee breakfast.....superb

The food and service was spot on. Prices are reasonable, there is wifi. I wuk ont rooads and just noticed this places passing by and Id defs go again :) annoying 50p charge if you pay with your card. Theyll let you in wearing Ya yellas too so that's sweet. I had a medium breakfast, would of got 5* if it came with a coffee included in the price.

Decided to give this place a try when I was passing and I must say I was happy with my visit. Felt welcome when entering the cafe and during my stay while having a meal. The food was great and hot when it arrived, the prices are good with a large selection to choose from on the menu. The place is very clean and tends to be a good spot as its always got plenty of people eating in. Never had a Sunday dinner here yet but from the comments from my grandparents I must try one day.
