Masala Chowk in Hillingdon

Just came here after I heard it being hyped for ages - thought it would be underwhelming as all hyped places - but oh my god the food was on point, customer service was really good - the owner think sheikh/hadiyar was really present, asad the cook showed cooking quality beyond his years - really nice place - fully recommend going to be back here real soon

Found this hidden gem by chance on Sunday evening. We were on our way to the Southall area and drove past this place and did a quick google search and promptly turned our car around to go to it. So glad we did as the food and service was really great! The restaurant itself is a cute place with limited seating however I’d go again and wait as the food was fresh, tasty and had some flavours that were new for us. One of the chefs (sorry didn’t get your name) came and recommend some dishes and seemed really passionate about the place and food- we were sold on dishes we wouldn’t normally get like the palak patta chaat- absolutely delicious! Great size portions and great value for money. We’ll definitely be back to try some of the mains as we ordered loads of starters which were all tasty so I’m assuming mains will be of the same quality!

I’ve walked past this restaurant so many time so tonight me and 9 of my family decided to try it, the food is absolutely amazing, so fresh and tasty and the staff couldn’t have done more for us, I’d highly recommend it, we will definitely be back.

Absolutely disgusting takeaway food. Korma tasted like dish water. Lamb curry was atrocious. Inedible! AVOID AT ALL COST!

Collected a takeaway- very pleasant staff especially a young female waitress who advised me on my dishes & prepared my salad upon my arrival to ensure it stayed crisp!!

Simple yet delicious, homely food. Fairly priced. Good service and value. Only ask from the restaurateur is to add gobi dishes to menu and don't be shy in adding gobi to items like veg Biryani.

Went in last minute with family almost around closing time around 10pm was very delighted to get a chance to try this place we randomly chose to eat in after a long day out. The lamb Karahi was a no.1 hit. Soo impressed after being soo disappointed trying in other Indian restaurants, the meat was soo tender yet soo flavoursome with the spices, tasted really authentic and truly traditionally cooked, we Also had the chicken biryani again it was delicious ,starters were somosa chaat, papri chaat was “yummy”! All the portions for each item was decent and filing and prices were very reasonable!! *Excellent customer service! *Very clean and friendly restaurant * Fully Halal * Reasonable priced Menu * Most importantly Delicious food! We went as a group of 10 people on Sunday. This was to celebrate my mum's birthday. The food & service was excellent. I would definitely go back next time. The prices are very reasonable.

Have just visited this restaurant which wasn’t planned. The welcome was warm and friendly and we were allowed to bring our own drinks in. So pleased we saw this restaurant and decided to give it a go. The food was delicious and the gentleman server was so helpful in recommending dishes that we hadn’t tried before. The recommendations were spot on and we enjoyed every dish we ordered. Would highly recommend giving this family run restaurant a go. They are so friendly and even gave us a complimentary dessert which was lovely of them. The prices are also really reasonable and the portion sizes were great.

I have been there twice now and it is a very good place to eat. Food is made to order and tastes fresh and delicious. Their curry prawn was very nice and their samosa chaat. They also do tasty mocktails.

Had dinner here for the first time saturday evening. Food was really good. We had the chicken wings to start followed by lamb biryani & chicken makhani with sag aloo as a side, everything was freshly cooked to order and full of flavour. The nan breads are also really good. The team who work there are very friendly and helpful. Will be going back for sure.

Very tasty and authentic indian food. We ordered vegetarian. Paneer tikka masala is the best in the area. I would stick to non spicy version as its good enough. Spicy version had lots of chillies

It was an amazing dinner had a starter small mix grill, we had a bhuna matka dishes served in perfect way in clay matka desi style. I cant explain in words food 10/10. Totally hygeine Highly recommended

Visited Masala Chowk today for lunch for the first time, I’d read the reviews and it seemed like a great place to try. Let me tell you I wasn’t disappointed, the food was so good, so tasty, so fresh, the chef did an amazing job! Also, the friendly staff were more than helpful and gave us excellent recommendations for dishes we might like to try. Excellent value dining, without doubt the best Indian meals I’ve had for many years, highly recommended.

Came here with clients and had a terrible experience chicken was uncooked and the mix grill was terrible. I spoke to the owner/ manager to explain my experience and he throw the chicken from the mix grill at us and said leave just because we complained. Owner has anger issues and can’t take accountability for he’s chefs.

Walking by and thought I would give it a go for a quick lunch. The sheekh kebab roll was amazing full of flavour and spiced perfectly. Definitely will be back to try more.

I have visited restaurant yesterday and I have ordered vegetarian dishes like Chana masala, zeera rice, dal fry and roti. The food was very delicious. Am a regular customer but last Thursday I ordered dinner it was a disaster. Lamb Rohan josh appeared to be kept for long time. Dal makhani was smelling burnt. Chicken masala was not the same.

I went for dinner with my family yesterday. The food was delicious and excellent service. Enjoyed all the dishes . I ordered Bombay chilly chicken,lamb burgers, chicken biryani, haryali chicken.chicken makhani. All the dishes were well prepared. Definitely going back and highly recommended!

Today was my third time here with my family and all I can say is that this restaurant is truly a hidden gem in Ruislip, the food is amazing so are the people working there, one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve been to. It’s a must try, you won’t be disappointed.

Biryani was very average and portions were small for money paid. Naan tastes like baking soda and bangaan curry that accompanied the biryani was disastrously oily. 3/ 5 because onion bajis were good and overall wasn’t too bad, but not to do again.

Food is good but no choice go medium spicy. Lamb gosht full of chunky undercooked masla. Taste is okay. Not very good roti. Kebabs and double xhicken wings are very good. Chips big let down. Dirty toilets. Came back with wet shoe soles.

Great service. Had the best biriyani in London yet (hence the photo with empty plate). Ordered one, was sufficient enough for two (great to keep us walking for an hour more), worth the price. Also, clean toilets and a great ambience for a family lunch or to spend time with friends.

Bombay Chilli Chicken (pictured) was my favourite.. Loved the Lamb Biryani too and the Raita came with was one of the best ever had. Highly recommended... really authentic taste. On my next visit will try their famous METHI LAMB with coconut rice.

Amazing authentic freshly cooked food! Such delicious food and good ambience. The service was exceptional by all the staff and the cook. One of our favourite dish was the Palak Patta Chaat, definitely a must try for all!! I strongly recommend this restaurant, there's also an area at the back for private parties. Came here after finding this place last min and based on the high reviews. The staff were lovely and accommodating. The place was clean and the food was all cooked fresh. The meat was very soft and tender, all dishes Full of flavour, will definitely return and recommend!

The other day I came by to have dinner and had a friend. I was greeted and taken to my table by the lovely staff and also the owners kindly greeted me the service is the best they also interact with customers and get to know you and I find that so nice of them. I ordered starters of papri chaat, seekh kebab, tandoori paneer and they gave us complimentary poppadoms, it was ever so lovely. I had mains of biryani, bhindi masala, lamb Rogan Josh and peshwari naan. And the food was the best bursting with flavours fresh and this place does the best best bhindi masala I've never tasted anything like that in my life before and I'm in love with it. The meat is well cooked and tender bursting with amazing flavours. Thanks to the lovely and kind head chef. The restaurant looks ever so lovely and has lovely staff that give a smile and it's halal which I love about it. The hygiene is 5 star 🌟 and it's a nice clean restaurant. The price is good for the food and the taste is amazing. If you haven't checked this place out I recommend it. I've been to many places but this place does food like no other place can and the portion sizes are very good. It's well worth the check in Ruislip manor. A Hidden gem in Ruislip.

Good food and friendly staff. Open till 10.30 on weekdays. I recommend the wings. Edit: I have now been a second time and can confirm everything is really good. Could not recommend enough. Be sure to ask for recommendations.

Although the food was nice and the service was ok, the restaurant lacked any ambience and there was no atmosphere. We asked to see the drinks menu and were told they don't serve alcohol, that's fine if you don't serve alcohol but surely you should let your guests bring their own alcohol! We have been to many Indian restaurants where they don't serve alcohol but they always let you bring in your own. When we received our bill we were absolutely shocked to see they had charged us for the take away boxes. Firstly when we asked if we could get the left over food packed to take home, they did not pack it themselves and just gave us the take away boxes, and secondly they did not mention there was a charge for this. I have been to thousands of restaurants in my lifetime and I have NEVER been charged for take away boxes. Left a very sour taste and we will not be going back again. Please sort this out, you should not be charging customers for take away boxes, felt ripped off by this!

Amazing food. Achari chicken, chicken malai tikka & gonna fish curry. Although one of the chicken pieces in achari dish was hard, overall the food was amazing, brilliant flavours. Chicken malai tikka was so soft and flavoured, simply loved the food. My wife ordered goan fish curry and the flavours in the tilapia fish were simply amazing. Funny thing is she managed to finish her main course, which doesn't happen often. Defo visiting them again soon 10 on 10 for the master chef and the support staff

Good quality food but waaay too spicy for our English palettes! Even the Korma was spicy (and more watery than creamy). The chicken tikka masala blew our heads off!

Amazing service and quality food. I booked the back private area for 20 people for a pre wedding meal with friends. The mixed grills were really good. All cooked really well. And we also got the biryanis and a selection of curries with naan and fries. Really great time and went smoothly for the dinners. I would definitely recommend.

Authentic Indian Food!!! 5* I found this place on the way back from Heathrow airport. Me and the misses fancied an Indian and found Masala Chowk. Only 15 min away from Heathrow. I'm I glad we did. This is an hidden gem in Ruislip, which I would definitely go there again and I live 1hr and 30min away in Essex. First of all the decor is warm and cosy felt invited straight away and dined in. We ordered some mocktails which were really good and 3 starters, Chilly Paneer, Spinach Chaat and Masala Wings. I got to say one of best starters I've tried in an Indian restaurant, the chilly paneer was delicious way above your usaul and the Spinach Chaat was a first for me it was light, crispy and packed full of flavour not your usual chaat that makes you feel heavy, perfect for pre main meal. The wings was grilled with a choice of 3 flavours I went for lemon and spicy, very flavourful and juicy with right amount of spice. For mains we had the the chicken Jalfrezi with Pilau Rice and Lamb Biriyani which comes with Raita. Jalfrezi I would have to say is one best I've tried. The chicken was so moist and tender and tasted authentic not your comercial curry made with one base sauce for those who know, know. The lamb biryani again the meat was so tender clearly there standards for meat prep is exceptional. The biriyani was so good it taste like home. 👍 Mocktails 7/10 Starters 10/10 Mains 10/10 Will absolutely recommend this place.
