Marybone Fish and Chips in Liverpool

Really frustrating. The food used to be great ... BUT I wouldn't say that it takes ages BUT When they say "Chinese", they don't say that the food is actually coming all the way from China. And when it arrives, it is cold.

A perfect location for good lunch menues.

Always good food and nice taste but won’t accept card and is cash only it is 2024 not 1940s anymore.

Can’t knock this place for a Bogor take away. Me and my family live across the road and we go regularly now I think the chef has changed in the last year or so bcoz it’s always the same very good! Prawn roasts best around

I had the No.44 Salt and Pepper Combination and there was a lot of gear in there! Good Quality

The customer service was awful they slammed down my food and was very rude and there was no respect she should be fired immediately

AHH the old Mary bone chippy not much has changed since I was a fresher . Still cash only which is annoying but the food is just as good as back in 2015.

Mate ordered pie and chips with gravy. It looked like slop, the meal was actually sweating. I got salt and pepper chips, the chips are just soggy and taste like sweaty armpits. Wouldn’t recommend it tbh but some dishes are alright (chicken fried rice)

Must be delivering there food by foot ‘on there way’ 1 hour half after placed order. 25 minutes after its on its way.

Food was awful. Got chips, rice and curry, tasted like used speedos. My girlfriend got lemon chicken and chips, tasted like a used swimming cap. This may be the worst takeout I’ve ever tasted. I would rather eat sellotape.

I quite often order food from here as the Chinese is pretty decent. Went in there today 3/1/24 the guy was mopping the floor could hardly understand me as he had air pods in. I raided a health & safety issue as the wet floor sign wasn’t down and he goes “ we lost it “ now if someone falls and hurts then self you’ll be seeing a law suit.

The food here is delicious we always get it delivered and it is hot and tasty. However, the communication between staff regarding the delivery location is shocking ! Each time our food has taken so long to arrive (an hour and a half at the most) because the delivery driver does not listen to instructions. I had to call and repeat the directions to her twice. When she arrived, she was rude. This happened on each occasion I’ve had my food delivered. I am not one to complain but her attitude is awful. It is a pity because the staff on the phone are always kind, but this member of staff is rude and does not follow directions properly.

How this business is still trading is beyond me! £23 for food and it was absolutely disgusting. Nothing tasted as it should, curry sauce tasted like it had 10 x sugars in, hot and sour soup tasted like an oxo, really salty with no other flavour, chips burnt and stale, rice tastes like it is days old. If I am sick tomorrow which I wouldn’t be surprised of, I will be reporting this place. Please avoid, plenty of other takeaways in the city centre which are much better quality. I want my money back if you can respond.

Special Chow Mein for just around 6$!!! That is a lot!!!

I was getting nervous because old one was staring at me. Looked like she proper wanted it. Tempted to ask for her snap but then I started scrsnnkng and it tasted like Lewis gainers armpit/ dom mooneys greasy mop head. Well we’re do I start we’re staying close by so thought would give local Chinese ago Wifes had beef chow mein Whitchurch wasn’t to bad I ordered a Donor kebab and portion of chips well got back to hotel I opened my kebab pitta bread wasn’t even grilled 8 slices of meat with 4 sleeves of lettuce in cut just placed on the top with chopped onion chips lots off but warmed up totally disappointed and Defo wouldn’t recommend 😳😳David

Great little place and not 2 expensive

Twice I've been here and twice the woman has short changed me. Today I asked how much a portion of chips is. £1.80, hand her £1.90 (quid, 50p, 20p x2), she counts it then puts it in the til and walks away. Its only 10p yea but I didn't say you could have it did I? The time before she had overcharged me like £2 on a larger order. I got that back though cus I argued the price before I handed the money over. That was maybe 10 months ago. Hadn't eaten there in between cus I sorta thought she was pulling a fast one (salt chilli chicken, curry sauce and a can of coke is the most common order probably, you'd know the price) plus usually I don't walk to collect a takeaway cus I mostly order food when I'm hungover or not in a mood to leave the house. And there's nicer stuff on justeat. Today confirmed it for me though. Stupid way to run a business. 10p gained but I'll never eat there again. Count your change folks.

Very generous portions, very good quality. Usually served very quickly. The only downside is a lot of homeless people tend to hang around outside and hassle you for money, really annoying.

Never no fresh chips just warm up same with the pies not cook properly just warm up

Great Chinese - the best in town. Used to order often when I lived upstairs and down the road.

Delivery took 2 hours past the time slot. Ordered crispy shredded chicken in black bean and chilli sauce. The sauce was tasteless, stated it was spicy on the menu but it wasn’t. salt and pepper chips came plain with no veg. Also ordered gravy chips with onions and peas and got a tub of mushed peas and gravy wasn’t nice. No prawn crackers either. Won’t be back!!!!!

Order chips, sweet and sour sauce with spring rolls. Overall horrible meal, sweet and sour sauce tasted like chemicals. The spring rolls wasnt very nice, greesy chips. Not worth the money. Dont recommend! No one ate all there food!

I would avoid here. Such a shame. Really poor meal then tried again and the just really poor quality. Smothered in salt, chips certainly not fresh and not tasty. Overpriced for quality and certainly disinterested when complaining. Please don’t waste your money - try somewhere else

Used to live around the corner from here, and now only 5 minute max walk away, it is the best chippy in the area that I've been too and isn't a price gouger compared to some others, Holland's pies are to die for, of course, their chips are also generally nice too, staff are pretty much always nice and friendly, just, there appears to be a staff member or two who seems to lack the knack for good chips, which is a massive shame as it detracts heavily from this otherwise nice chip shop

Staff on the till didn't understand a simple order, had to correct and ensure what we wanted and the pie was cold, also it was a mince beef rather than a steak pie as ordered

Food was excellent and good value. Had vegetable fried rice and there was a good variety of veg in there and not just your typical slice of green pepper. Salt and pepper chips were delicious and vegetable spring rolls were crispy and tasty. My new favourite takeaway

Wontons were rock solid however the chicken was nice.

Ordered the salt and pepper ribs and prawns- absolutely smothered in salt, couldn't even eat. The ribs were so hard and overcooked, didn't taste like any other meat I've had. Also ordered the chicken fried rice which too was full of salt. Called up to complain and was told there was nothing they could do. Horrendous!! Do not order from here!

We waited one hour and 30 minutes for our food to arrive, the soup was salty and a little cold and the chicken burger was cold and bland. We weren't offered any compensation for our wait and bad service. Won't be calling them again.

To be frank, food quality getting worse. Third time in a row have had old, yellow, chewy chips delivered and so much soya sauce in the beef green pepper that made it unedible. Used to be good before the prices went up (£1.50 for a small tray of chips) which are usually mostly chip bits. Poor.... and getting worse.

Vile food, order chicken kebab and was told no chicken! Ok i order a Donna kebab the girl didn't know what salad was so ended up with onions and cucumber on it no sauce even though I asked for a seperate pot of chilli sauce, the extra pita bread was rock hard. The chips was not fresh, deep fried burger no salad again! Never order the sui Mai they smelt off! What a waste of money ! Never again!!!!

My mother bought 2 Fish and Chips yesterday and the chips were absolutely disgusting i seriously think they were yesterday chips reheated. I took them back to the shop and got the girl to fry some fresh chips. I don't understand why they would serve food u wouldn't give to a dog for the sake of saving a few chips.

Visited here a few times, poor quality food i peronally wouldnt advise it to anyone. If it wasnt in a student area where there is no other chinese takeaways this place would have shut down a long time ago

Great food delivered hot and tasty to the merchant APTS on the docks. Will be a regular customer when visiting Liverpool.

Found a hair in one of the meals, and rang up and complained and they said it wasn't from them and nothing they can do. It wasn't any of ours cause it was grey and long and it was a guy eating the food. Then found a long piece of metal in the other meal, looked like it was from a can being opened, so didn't ring back as I'd get the same poor service. Used to come here all the time but unfortunately never again, really disappointed.

I got fried rice from this takaway and I found a maggot in it avoid this takaway there hygiene is discusting

I had the fish and chips, and they were terrible. I can give one star for the fact that the fish itself seemed alright, but the fried batter was drenched in oil and the chips were a mush of soggy potatoes. Also no peas or tartar sauce.

Food isn't excellent, prices average, most meals could feed two, I might order with them again

I love this Chippy. I always get the Sweet and Sour Chicken lunch meal...well fit!!
