Indian Delight in Liverpool

Somos visitantes de Liverpool y sentimos que estamos consentidos para elegir con restaurantes. En una visita anterior en agosto no habíamos reservado en ningún lugar, así que probamos este lugar, disfrutamos de la comida tanto que regresamos. Al igual que otras críticas que fuimos aprensivos, ya que no había mucha gente en y la decoración era extremadamente anticuado, el lugar olía a humedad, sin embargo, estábamos a través de la puerta. Como comentario anterior sobre la actitud de los camareros, parece hosco, pero una vez que iniciaste una conversación él era agradable y hablador. De todos modos todo lo que puedo decir es que somos gente bastante quisquillosa en lo que respecta a la comida y realmente disfrutamos, encontré que había buenos trozos grandes de pollo, el sabor era muy agradable (pollo Shaslick). Si el ambiente no es la vanguardia de su visita y desea un sabroso curry pruébelo.

Este debe ser el peor restaurante que he visitado, apareció un viernes por la noche, alrededor de las 20: 30 y debería haberse preocupado de inmediato, vacío aparte de otra pareja. De todas formas, llegó a una mesa por el más hosco de los camareros, por su comportamiento, fue un estrecho vínculo en cuanto a quién odiaba más el lugar, él o yo, por desgracia, creo que ganó! Me pidieron nuestra orden de bebidas, no me atreví a probar la cerveza, así que pedí una coca que regresó muy pronto, en una lata, con un vaso caliente, sin hielo, no abierto, así que no servida parcialmente. Comida sabia, pedido poppadum's, que volvió semi quemado y un curry que ningún restaurante indio de renombre puede estropear, un pollo Tikka Masala, sí, lo adivinaste, no tenía sabor alguno, pequeños trozos de pollo y una salsa, bueno era acuoso e insípido, parecía un curry pero era francamente una vergüenza que un cocinero / chef profesional resultaría. En cuanto al lugar en sí, creo que se vio por última vez mejores días, en cuanto a decoración, hace unos 30 años, las escaleras al inodoro de arriba son una trampa mortal, el papel pintado se está desprendiendo de las paredes por todo el lugar y había agua real filtrando desde el techo, por la pared. No creo que fuera agua de lluvia, ya que está en la planta baja y es al menos un edificio de 3 pisos, así que la fuente del agua también me hace temblar. La comida en sí tenía un precio bastante alto. He estado en un montón de restaurantes de 5 * y un montón de 'cucharas grasientas' y todos hacen que esto parezca un lugar de 3 * estrellas Michelin. Es absolutamente horrible. Si hubiera estado saliendo para una comida planeada, habría investigado y este lugar no habría hecho la larga lista, pero como fue una caída, fui más casual al respecto. NUNCA más!

How is the Indian delight, aka the shabite got the rating it has ? One of the best Indian restaurants in Liverpool, great service, BYOB and the food is very good. You need to come to this place

I made a booking at this restaurant for a Friday night several weeks in advance. When I rang back to confirm my booking a couple of days in advance, the person I spoke to asked if I had paid a deposit. I explained that their colleague who I had spoken to originally had not asked me to pay a deposit, to which he told me I actually did not have a booking after all. So I asked if I could make the booking now and then come and pay the deposit when we arrive in Liverpool on Friday morning. "Why are you wasting time?" he responded, and then hung up on me before I had a chance to answer. Unbelievable rudeness to someone who was offering you business.

La peor comida india que hayamos comido. Envolturas para puri's, nan comprada en la tienda, ensalada empapada y los currys tímidos de carne más insípidos servidos con la noche anterior calentaron el arroz. El servicio de atención al cliente podría hacer con la brocha junto con un poco de pintura en las escaleras a los lavabos. Todo a precios premium. Basura 👎

Ok, así que puedo ver por qué este restaurante recibe críticas mixtas, ya que no es el más sofisticado de los lugares (! ) sin embargo, vinimos para una cena nocturna un sábado por la noche y para ser honesto disfrutamos de nuestra comida. La comida era muy buena y no tomó demasiado tiempo y aunque no van a ganar ningún premio por el increíble servicio al cliente, el personal era eficiente y no nos pareció grosero (como algunas otras críticas han mencionado). Me pregunto si algunos de los problemas que otras críticas han descrito pueden reflejar en parte el hecho de que está en el centro de Liverpool, abierto hasta tarde y probablemente tiene que lidiar con su parte justa de clientes borrachos! Nos recordaba al antiguo Pasaje a la India que nos encantaba comer en los 90 😀

Great place has a 90s retro feel to it aswell,staff were brilliant,food fresh,although need more inventive drinks rather than canned drinks,eg fresh mint lemonade etc.apart from this great food and nice place,I'll be going again.

Wow. Probably the worst Indian starters I have ever had in 30 years. Dry, old and microwaved up lamb that was awful and shouldn't be served. Shop bought naan which is embarrassing. Microwaved and old bhaji that wasn't edible. Rice was ok. Chicken naga ok. Mixed meat Jalfrezi had 1 piece of lamb and the rest chicken. Staff were rude and did not care at all and they admitted this. We did get a but frustrated and a bit rude as so bad. I would be concerned for any person eating here as unclean, no care and potentially dangerous food. Awful

The Indian delight is a wonderful place to dine if you are not a snob. Fantastic food and the service is . The waiters are so very attentive and are happy to help at all stages.

Go here all the time. Went a few days ago with my brother. Always amazing food, amazing staff and amazing place. Has that unique feeling that most modern restaurants these days lack

Food was okay, Naan not homemade. Service friendly but they needed to correct the hamdwritten bill once...

We visited this restaurant in January 2024 and had the worst experience ever. From being the only customers in the restaurant, absolutely no atmosphere and being treated so rudely by one of the waiters. We were told as we didn't look relaxed we should leave. The premises smelt damp and mouldy making it difficult breathe. Our stay was short and one we will not be repeating. Would not recommend.

Came here after a Liverpool game and wished we hadn't bothered. We ordered 2x meat samosas and were given vegetable samosas that were still frozen in the middle. Service wasn't great either - would definitely avoid for £35 per person!

The restaurant sent a chunk of meat in a vegetarian dish. No matter how nice the dish may have been, this discovery was distressing an unforgivable. I will never order from here again as a result. Careless, disrespectful and disgusting. The rest of the meal was mediocre. Not bad, leaning on bland. Low quality ingredients, no depth in the flavour, little apparent care in making the dishes. Save your money for somewhere better.

Food was horrible, microwaved naan bread. Only allowed to order rice as a side. Really rushed and would not allow other people to come into the restaurant even though they were still open for another hour. The waiter rushed us to be in and out within around half an hour. Disappointing and rubbish value for money.

If you come to this restaurant. You will order the food but you wont eat. 200% Guaranteed. Staff behaviour is very worst and you will be asked to get out after ordering all food.

Such a Inglorious Indian restaurant which i visited in Liverpool. 5-10 minutes after the order was taken, the staff asked us to leave the restaurant in a impertinent and a inappropriate way because we didn't order sufficient enough according to him. An Indian or an Asian never does that they serve you first though your a Nemesis. I feel, he was expecting us to tear the menu into half and order one side first and the other while we are having our meal. Indian mother's ask their wards to drink hot water after we have our ice cream, just to ensure not to catch cold. And my friend did the same with the similar reminiscence. Whereas for that reason, the waiter asked my friend not to die on the dinning table with a stroke as the restaurant has a 60 years of legacy. Probably with this derogatory, they should inform us it is 60 years of Hall of Shame. I found one of the glass of the photoframe was broken. It shows the sign, how barbaric they were to the other customer too. Additionally shows the ignorance of Changing the glass as well as their Attitude. A humble request you don't need to change your attitude or anything else but just remove the first part of your restaurant name which brings disrespect and misdirect opinion on our nation with it now.

Wow wow what can I say. Honestly from the food to the host, couldn’t of asked more. Private dining at its finest. Music absolutely spot on. Atmosphere more than incredible. Toilet facilities you bet ya. Pilau rice to die for, few of the lads bitta chat some place the Durden family will certainly be back. Bosh

After a hard days work attending to clients, it was an amazing experience to be at this restaurant. The decor was retro and brought back memories of going to restaurants with parents in 1980s. Top it all off with very tasty cuisine and a reasonable bill. Would recommend to out of of town visitors.

Although the decor of this restaurant is a little dated, the food did not disappoint. We had a few starters and then mains. All the food was really tasty. We had leftovers too, which the staff gave us containers to take with us. It looked like you could take your own alcohol with you too, as the large table next to us had their own beer. Definitely go back again.

We chose this place for a staff party as it was bring-your-own wine so I asked the Manager if he could chill our wine. He flatly refused. Said we had brought our own wine so we were responsible. He was surly and frankly rather stupid (suggested we drop ice cubes in our rather decent Chablis!!!!) . Some of our group had come a long way or we'd have walked out. The booths we were shunted into were also cramped but the waiter who attended us did his best to make us feel welcome and the food was reasonably good, several vegetarian members of our group liked the wide choice, but relatively expensive. SADLY we won't be going again. I don't want a surly bullying manager telling me that because I have brought my own wine he won't chill it for us.

Booked using the Gourmet Society card. When the bill arrived the waiter was very aggressive saying that they didn't accept any card even though the restaurant is advertised on the Gourmet Society website. The manager came and was also hostile saying no card. Avoid this rip off restaurant with hostile and awful customer care. Now I understand why we were the only customers!!!!

Money taken from my bank no delivery

Onion bhajis were overdone and burnt and the delivery guy was quite rude, said than you a couple of times and got blanked. Shame, hopefully next time will be better.

One of the waiters was extremely rude to my friend. Terrible service on his part. The other waiter was really nice and the food was good too. But I would definitely not recommend anyone this restaurant because of the waiter’s rude behavior! Extremely poor service, not worth it!

Excellent Food 5*****, fast delivery once again from Just Eat

The food, I must say, is very good but the senior member of staff who served us was so rude it really spoiled our evening. We were welcoming a friend we hadn’t seen for ages to Liverpool where we are working and called well ahead of time to make sure the restaurant could accommodate 16 people. They assured us we could and yet within 5 minutes of us arriving, the man serving us said if the rest of our party didn’t arrive in 10 minutes, he wouldn’t take their order. It says on the website that the restaurant is open until 1 and we called to check there was no problem. This is not how to run a business in the hospitality sector and the member of staff in question should be thoroughly ashamed.

We are touring with a show at the Liverpool Empire, we called ahead to say we wanted a late night celebration curry as we regularly do and most businesses welcome on slow trade days. We mostly spend £400 plus as a group and are friendly, keen and delightful. We were met with a rushed attitude and the words ‘if everyone isn’t here in ten minutes we won’t serve them’ this was at 10:20 when it shuts at 11:30 and advertises on some sites including the theatre notice board until 1am. Most food was good, but served with attitude, angst and rush which frankly for a good turn out should be welcomed on a quiet Tuesday. The manager was rude to his own staff who were trying to be very hospitable, and also had his own issue about contactless and using our cards by himself. The food was ok, but the terrible service makes it a no goer for me as a person who eats in different Indian restaurants across the whole country every single week. Single worst service of the year for me sadly, which is a shame because the food was pretty good. Oh and not to even begin on the ragged carpeted bathrooms that haven’t been cleaned in weeks. I’m not going to even start on that.

Although he flavour of the food was very good, both prawn curries didn't contain many prawns and therefore I believe the order was overpriced.

Enjoyed a meal with the family at this fine restaurant. Every dish was spot on and packed with quality and taste. Staff were friendly and helpful. look forward to coming here again!

Used to go regularly, this was the first visit in years. Food was pretty good but the service sullen and unfriendly from our waiter.

The food here is excellent. I had a mixed kebab starter followed by a special mixed biryani. Both were delicious. The table was pleasant in a type of booth (a more open area to eat was available) and staff were friendly and attentive. Value was also good at a total cost of £60 for 2, each having 2 courses and a large bottle of beer. The bill came hand-written and the addition was slightly flaky, which fortunately I spotted because it wasn’t in our favour! So £73 became £60. Overall excellent and highly recommended.

Bit like going back in time with the decor and surroundings! Reminds me very much of the late night Indian restaurants of the 1970's. However, the food is very good and very reasonable prices for a city centre restaurant. Good atmosphere and staff very helpful and friendly. Worth a try!!

Don’t usually rate curries in Liverpool very highly but this was bang on. Chicken vindaloo was really nice, friendly service and you can never go wrong with BYOB.

This place is a hidden gem & not one to miss! Authentic food served in an independently ran restaurant - better than any chain Indian restaurant in Liverpool. I ordered a lamb dopiaza - 10/10. Friendly service & reasonably priced. I highly recommend. #SupportYourLocal #CurryClub

Visited this place a few times now and the service & food is exceptional. Only issue I have is it’s outdated looks like a typical 80’s restaurant. Doesn’t stop me coming though.

Delivered stone cold over2 hours wait.soggy cold chips.tandor chicken bland/hard.korma sour not sweet.runny bland curry.crushed popadom.stone cold ruined.expensive place 4bland boring tasteless. Expensive mistake.never ate bland Indian food.shocking.

I paid 25 quid for a meal and side dishes. It was abysmal. This wasnt curry. It was a gravy with some indian flavouring and lots of grease thrown in The chicken was like cardboard and the potatoes were rock hard. Its all in the bin. Id like my 25 quid back!!! Dont ever order from here.

I was smashed but I remember getting Chicken Chat and a Korma and loving it. Can't remember how much I paid but it was nice.

Was looking forward to my meal but unfortunately it never turned up and when I contacted the restaurant the staff told me it wasn’t there problem an I should contact just eat.

I’ve eaten hear for over 25 years! My family won’t have curry from anywhere else and if they do, they always compare it to Indian Delight with the usual comment - “Nowhere near as good as Indian Delight!” Don’t waste time and money going elsewhere for imitation curries - you’ll only regret it!!!

This is one of my favourite Indian restaurants in Liverpool. So glad to see them finally delivering on JustEat. Food was absolutely delicious as always and delivered on time too.

We have eaten in most Indian restaurants in Liverpool and although this isn’t the cheapest, we consistently come back here for good quality food and excellent service.

Stupidly expensive and shockingly awful food stay well away from this place if you like proper Indian food, to sum up a special masala king prawn for £15 which consisted of 5 unpeeled prawns in a sauce that can only be described as day glow orange. Not nice.

Walked in but found the dampness smell off-putting. Mentioned this tonrhenownees as we left but they weren't listening. Needs to improve maybe the carpets.

They sell cokes from multipacks and tried to charge us but we explained they can not sell multi pack cans separately and when serving a pint of carlsberg which is on tap they went in the back and tried to sneak a can of carlsberg past me and used that instead of pouring it from the tap

Old favourite. Wide variety of great curries on offer and the staff were as friendly and welcoming as always.

We chose this restaurant as the menu looked good and would please all of us. We knew was a byo too, so always a good find. From the outside the restaurant is a little dated and they really should put a clean menu in the food display stand. Was not a good first impression. Inside the restaurant was completely empty and a little dark and dingy. We ordered and sat wondering if we had made a bad choice. The waiter was friendly enough, but our first impressions of the service, mediocre. We ordered an assortment of sides and curries. These took a while to come which was a good sign. The food was truly delicious and hit the spot. We all agreed. It was good portion size and very tasty. If you are in it for a good curry and not bothered about much else, then I would wholly recommend. If looking for a good Indian experience probably not so.

Very poor quality food nowhere near as good as it used to be! Very expensive for what it was & I didn't finish my glupe of chicken tikka! Yukti Indian fusion restaurant further down is far superior!

Haven’t seen many Indian restaurants in Liverpool so thought we would give this one a try. Currys are really tasty and good portions. Prices are also very reasonable

Después de haber estado en Liverpool ayer con mi esposa y amigos, me hubiera gustado haber visto algunas de las críticas antes de decidir comer aquí, pero no parecíamos que nos gustara, todos los demás habían estado fuera por una buena bebida y querían una buena comida para empápate de la cerveza, pero no conseguimos una buena comida o un buen servicio a través de (mientras estábamos comiendo fue lo suficientemente agradable, pero después de que comimos todo el mundo se volvió como Jekyll y Hyde para todo el personal)Entonces, ¿qué puedo decir acerca de esta comida que comimos anoche, además de que la comida en sí estaba por debajo del estándar y las especias parecían mezcladas, como si mi esposa solo comiera Kormas simples pero era diferente y sé lo bueno que es el pollo tandoori, pero nuestros sabores eran un poco apagadoAsí que hubo 2 parejas comiendo la noche anterior y las otras tripas están fuera de control, como la mía, para ser honesto, Iv ha tenido reflujos estomacales todo el día.Si no puedes hacer una comida que satisfaga a la gente, entonces no te molestes en hacerlo.Pero lo que más nos molestó fue el hecho de que la máquina de tarjetas no funcionaba debido a que no había conexión (convenientemente, por lo que hacer esto significa que habrá menos pagos hasta que puedan guardar el dinero que quieran)Así que yo y el otro amigo fuimos enviados a Sainsbury's a la vuelta de la esquina, pero no funcionó debido a que estaba fuera de servicio, así que tomé una foto y se la mostré al hombre mayor en el restaurante que se enojó y se hizo joven. 'ish guy nos llevó a un banco de velocidad que estaba frente a la Iglesia bombardeada (esto fue muy irrespetuoso ya que incluso nos apoyó cuando retiramos el dinero, pero regresó solo a la tienda cuando comencé a retirar mi dinero).Al regresar al restaurante, nos encontramos con nuestra esposa, que estaba de pie fuera del restaurante y ambos parecían un poco molestos, así que les pregunté por qué querían estar de pie junto a la puerta (la tienda no tenía aire acondicionado), así que se quedaron allí para estar frescos. Luego, cuando el otro chico regresó, gritó señalando el lenguaje de nuestra esposa en su propio idioma de una manera amenazadora, lo que mi esposa hizo un punto de decir. ¿Puede usted hablar en mi idioma cuando hable sobre nosotros y no sea irrespetuoso?Regresamos y pagamos la factura, que fue un asombroso 107.Lo siento, pero por favor, no te molestes en comer aquí, no solo te harán sentir incómodo, sino que también te tratarán con falta de respeto.Como se puede ver en las imágenes, el banco de velocidad con el registro, las dos personas del restaurante, 1 calle, están en segundo lugar con la boca abierta con nuestras esposas, y luego algunas fotos para mostrarle lo destartalado que está todo el lugar, incluido el artefacto de iluminación sobre nuestras cabezas que fue atrapado con blu tack.Por favor, por favor, no te molestes en comer aquí, es atroz, Iv le dio una estrella porque no puedo hacer 1/2 o ninguna.

Food was ok but the staff were rude to us when their card machine didn’t work with MasterCard. It wasn’t any problem with our card it was the machine and instead of trying again they send us to withdraw money.

Absolutely stunning food. Served by Ali and Sam and they were very hospitable; made the experience really enjoyable. I'll definitely be back!

Un grupo de 10 de nosotros fuimos el pasado martes 25/06/2019. Entrantes caros para lo que recibes y los platos principales son muy pobres, tuve Lamb Karahi, mi compañero tenía Chicken Pathia, ninguno de los dos era reconocible como ninguno de los dos platos. Dos días después sigo teniendo calambres en el estómago, 2 entrantes, 2 platos principales y 1 cerveza cada 53. 00! ! !Nunca volveré, descubrí solo 3 de cada 5 productos de higiene.

Indian Delight is the best Indian by far in liverpool, I've been coming here for over 20 years, don't judge the place on looks but on the food, you wont be disapointed 5****
