We found this little cafe and popped in for breakfast before we head home back to South Wales, I don’t usually like cafe’s for breakfast because I can’t stand the smell of grease and I can’t stand a greasy fry up but we walked in and there was no horrible smell at all and the man behind the bar was very welcoming, my sister is gluten free and they were very accommodating. Would highly recommend.

A café that's been trading since 1896 so that tells you a lot. Great food and friendly staff, highly recommended and will definitely be back

Cafe looked nice with festive decorations . Had a large all day breakfast. Whilst waiting I noticed the table was greasy, so went to move to another, but that was the same. The Breakfast came and consisted of a fried egg, two sausages ( inedible) fatty bacon rashers, tinned chopped tomatoes and a slice of black pudding. The best bit was the toast, dripping in butter. Budget quality ingredients, not worth the asking price when compared to other cafes. Disappointed.

I used to love this place. I went on for the first time since it's changed and I waited almost 40 minutes for my food to come to the table, I then couldn't eat it because the half soaked waitress didn't give us knifes and forks. I had the steak pie and the get it from the market for about 3 quid which is usually cut into thirds as a portion. The piece I got was less than a quarter, I didn't have many chips and half of my plate was built up of dry process peas. Think I will stick with the priory cafe in future

The cafe is the oldest in Wales and run by the same family for 5 generations. Had the best Omelette, chips and salad, ever. Would recommend to anyone. Great homemade food and NO frozen chips!

MORE AT TripAdvisor

We have used this cafe several times in the past but it has recently changed hands and this was our first visit under the new owners. The cafe is well situated in the small back-street shopping alleys of Wrexham, only a couple of minutes walk from the town centre and close to car parks. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, the staff always keen to help and the food freshly cooked. It is also reasonably priced. We had breakfast there on two consecutive days and the quality of food and service was excellent both times. It is counter service for ordering but food is delivered to the table and staff are always willing to help. The one thing I suggest for improvement is that they make available non-dairy milks. My wife has dairy-intolerance but loves a milky coffee. To hold lacto-free, almond, rice or oat milk would make this possible and would also appeal to vegans. We suggested this and they promised to consider it seriously. I recommend you try this lovely local cafe when in Wrexham

Joy & I paid our fist visit to Marubbi"s Cafe in Bank St,Wrexham, last Saturday,(29/08/2021),for a quick small lunch,we plumped for their small breakfast & a mug of coffee each. Not too busy at the time,(it picked up after about 15 minutes of us going in),so the wait for the "cook to order" food was minimal, about 3>5 mins. The food was hot, tasty & well presented.Staff were courtious & friendly. An enjoyable lunch,Marubbi"s is DEFINITELY on our list of cafes in town to visit now. Wish we had visited this place years ago.

An old school cafe , tucked away down a side street but will now become our go to breakfast destination when visit family in the area . A friendly smile great us and our order was taken with absolutely no fuss , we took our seats expecting a little wait while the food was prepared , 2 minutes later food is in front of us and freshly cooked and piping hot ! Amazing , quality was right up there with the nicest we've had . The price for both large breakfasts was equal to an individual portion at the hotel we stayed at . A must visit

The last time I went there I waited several minutes but there was just no service. I could hear the staff chatting in the back but nobody came to serve me. I had to go somewhere else for lunch. This place is NOT recommended.

Not sure if the other reviewer's are family or friends of the caffe or if they actually are in a different cafe. The cleanliness was below par and the whole place is out dated. The food took long for the quality of it. I looked in other cafes in the area and this one was about 25% more expensive. The staff where average in manners. I'd give this one a miss and try one of the other cafes in town.

I cant remember a time when Marubbi's wasn't here which isnt surprising as I believe its been established for over 70 years. The decor hasnt changed since my dear nan used to take me there as a child (and Im 47 now!). This cafe is an icon of Wrexham. Everyone local has heard of it. Proper home cooked food and very friendly staff. Today we had home made mince beef pie with chips, processed peas and gravy and a hot pork and onion baguette. Non of that frozen chip nonsense either! A lovely milky coffee and a mug of tea washed it all down. Yummy! Even the plate the pie meal came on was reminiscent of a plate your nanna would have given you your tea on and I absolutely love that. If you're visiting Wrexham I highly recommend you seek out Bank Street for a visit to Marubbi's. Don't be expecting airs and graces. This is a good, honest, down to earth cafe with very satisfying home cooked food.

What a lovely cafe with wonderful friendly staff. The food (vast menu) is brilliant, hot and quickly served and dare I say very inexpensive. We live in Whitchurch Shropshire 1/2 hr away but have been delighted to find this superb cafe in a narrow little lane on our two visits shopping in Wrexham Wales. Thank you staff at Marubbis. Bob and Janice Moffat.

Simple food, cooked well, but a little pricy for the simplicity of the cafe. I would visit again as I prefer smaller older established places to the chains.

Fantastic! Place is lovely. Staff were attentive and friendly. We had 3 full breakfasts, a pot of tea, served in a lovely vintage cup and saucer, and a latte. Service was great and the food was hot, fresh and delicious. Great portions, we did want cake, but didn't have room. Toilets were clean, loads of parking too. Can't ask for more really. Will defo be back for cake, which also looked delicious!

Beautifully run family pub. Made to feel very welcome any day of the week. With a stunning beer garden and family staff it’s a must go to in North Wales. Surrounded by history it’s located right on the WELSH border. Highly recommend Be careful on the pool table though Very competitive and there can only be one champ 🏆

We ordered 60 cup cakes for a work event to commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness day. We were given options for the decorating and decided on 50/50 pink frosting and some with the breast cancer logo of the pink ribbon. The cakes were divine, so happy and they were delivered right on time. We also ordered a specialty Victoria Sponge which we raffled as a prize, I didn’t win it sadly so I can’t comment on the taste but it looked divine and was in a gorgeous presentation box with pink ribbon. Thanks Emzcakes for making our event extra special.

Reserved a table between 12-12:30 as we came from far to have a meal for my boyfriend birthday. Arrived and were told food is only served at 1 but nothing was said on the phone when booking. We didn’t mind and with 45 mins to wait we wonder around town for a bit. Got there me and my partner sat down after asking if we could sit down anywhere. After 30 mins of waiting we went up and asked if we had to order there and were told yes as it was busy (which no one warned us about). When we went to order our lunch we were told that the food from the menu was going to take ages because of the queue already in the kitchen. When asked how long if it was going take as it was likely to be 2/3 hrs at that rate, to confirm the waitress went to ask the boss when she rudely answered back saying she didn’t have the time to think about that nit answering the waitress. First and last time, wouldn’t advise anyone to eat here.
