What can I say, I’ve been an Uxbridge resident for all my life and always wanted to eat here but never had the chance. Very impressed, it’s the best food that your nan might cook but you can’t ask for. Friendly welcoming and tasty at House wine was great too!

A proper old school restaurant offering a menu of what I would class as 1980s classics. I went for the chicken cordon bleu (which was absolutely delicious) and my colleagues all had filet steaks and claimed they were the best steaks ever! And what’s really amazing is the value for money as every dish is very reasonably priced. See you again soon, Martin!

Staying nearby on a theatre-trip weekend. As before we came to Martin's place. The steak was fabulous one of the best I've ever had - so tender. Good rosé in the absence of champagne! Will obviously be back.

I've been to Martin's place twice now and have not been at all disappointed. The ambience and the customer service is first class. There's a personal feel to the restaurant and very cosy. The steak was to die for. I would definitely recommend this restaurant but you have to book in advance as it's very popular. Thank you for you kindness and attention to your customers.

Petite bistro with limited covers, MAKE SURE YOU BOOK WELL AHEAD. On a dull Wednesday November evening it was full and they were turning people away at 7.30pm! I think that says it all. I don't think there is anything in the area that comes anywhere near the quality of Martin's Place.

I haven't been to Martin's Place for about 16 years since moving out of the area, but I was meeting with old friends and I thought it would be great to go back and see if was just the same. Reassuringly it was - still looked exactly the same - cosy and friendly. The smell was amazing as you walked in. I had the Chicken Supreme Princess which was delicious, served with chips and lots of vegetables. Followed by a chocolate roulade. All at a very reasonable price too. I will definitely be back and will not leave it 16 years this time :-)

We hadn’t booked but we were soon found a table. The dining room is quite small and with the aromas and sounds of cooking from the nearby kitchen it gave us the feeling of eating in someone’s home rather than in a restaurant. The service was friendly and attentive but not intrusive. The food was excellent and obviously freshly cooked for us.

This is a very special and unique place to bring your spouse, family or friends for dinner. Martin bringing his personal flavour and passion into both food and service. Thank you again for a wonderful and personal experience.

What a great place at the heart of Uxbridge. Martin is a great cook. Service is wonderful and the food is amazing. You have to book in advance which once to go you can understand why.

Amazing place, an Uxbridge institution... Friendly atmosphere, excellent service. I normally go for the excellent steak, while my friend had what was described as the tastiest rack of lamb he had ever had.... fell off the bone. Highly recommended.

I've been wanting to go to Martin's Place for years and was lucky enough to call up late one evening and get a table! It's such a small, cosy little restaurant. It's like you've walked into a little B&B dining room- which is nice and very different to the trend of bigger and fancier restaurants. I came here because I heard the food was amazing and reasonably priced. My main was a steak with peppercorn sauce. It came with heaps of chips and vegetables, way too many for one person to finish! The steak was nice, was well cooked. Is it the best steak I've had- no, but it was good! I also had the deep fried camembert which was nice as well. Whilst satisfied, I wasn't ecstatic, and I couldn't put my finger on it. And then I looked around at the clientelle. This is a local restaurant, for local people who want a range of good food at excellent prices. You won't break the bank eating here, and you will never get lower than 7/10 on your food! However, it may not be the best dish of that product you've ever eaten- for example, the steak and peppercorn sauce were probably underseasoned. But for the amount I was paying- I wouldn't complain! 3 course meal for less than £30 in this day and age! Bargain! Keep coming here and keep supporting these local businesses.

We have visited Martin's Place three times now and it simply doesn't disappoint. It is a small Bistro, run by Martin and a small crew. The food is straight from the 70's and 80's, and frankly at 80's prices. Just phenomenal value. Where else can you get Chablis, or Fillet steak, for under £20? Fine dining, it is not. Brilliant, honest food, served well. Martin is a gem, a German by birth, but trained in hotels here in the UK over 30 years ago. We walked in on spec at 8, and were advised by Martin to come back at 9. We arrived at 8.45, to be greeted by Martin..."you don't have a watch, then" LOL. Ordering steak..Martin..."If you had a choice, how would you like your steak cooked?" LOL....And it was perfectly medium rare, and delicious. 2 people, 2 bottles of wine, after dinner digestive, 3 courses, all for under £100, including tip. This place is a real treat for those of us who want a trip down memory lane, in an informal setting. Best to book though; very small.

Just had a fantastic meal at Martin's this is our second visit and it never dissapoints the food is very high quality we ordered two steaks and two cordon bleu chicken dishes and all four were cooked to perfection and came with a generous helping of mixed salad,mixed vegetables and a huge dish of chips,thank you for a special meal we will be back again

Been here several times over the years and never had a bad meal. This is a tiny bistro. If you want a good steak, this is the place to go. Booking is a must as it is always busy due to limited tables. Martin manages to cope with a larger groups as easily as he does with a couple. The only downside is the lack of draught beer. Bottles or cans only.

This is a very small restaurant . It has a familiar cozy vibe . I have been coming here for years , I can honestly say it’s the best steak I’ve tasted . Excellent value for money . Fantastic service ,?wonderful food

Three of us went on recommendation, why they thought this place was good I'll never know. Steak with pepper sauce it was covering the meat so that I couldn't see it's poor quality tough and flavourless. Only one thought theirs was reasonable. Coke came out of 2 litre bottles therefore completely flat and at the extortionate price of £2-50 per glass and to top it all after peeking in their fridge EVERYTHING was from Tesco's even the desserts. Wouldn't be surprised if everything was frozen the veg certainly were.

What a lovely evening we had here recently. Staff were so welcoming, food was really lovely and very well cooked. There was 4 of us and we were all happy with our food, tasted like it was home cooked and not defrosted like some of the chains serve.

We went to Maetins Place again last night. It was aa always fantastic. Words don't do it justice. Martin is a great chef, he is passionate about his restaurant and his girls work hard to compliment this with their level if front of house service. We have been served by Charlotte Danielle, Laura, Fi and all the girls are fantastic. Special mention to the girls behind the scenes, Zoe in particular.

I have been coming here for over 20 years and the most recent visit was a further confirmation of the outstanding quality and value that Martin delivers. Fillet steaks perfectly cooked, crispy chips and even great veg.

Family get together recently. Martin and Laura couldn't do enough for us as a group. The welcome was lovely, the food incredible - from a large group with most of the orders for steak we couldn't get over how each and every steak was cooked to perfection (from rare, rare to medium, medium rare, medium, well done). The rack of lamb was so tender. Sides complementary and wine flowing. Not one complaint :-) Cannot wait to return to this quirky, welcoming and excellent eatery. Thank you x

Sometimes you need some delicious, home cooked, flavoursome grub and Martin’s Place certainly delivers. We spent a lovely evening dining on Camembert, duck, chicken and scrumptious desserts. The house wine was also delightful. All for a very affordable price, I’m looking forward to returning.

A birthday celebration and 1 party member did not arrive. We got told off fof not informing them in advance! The waiting staff were quite miserable with us and thus easily did put a damper on the celebration. She could have took one of us aside to talk instead of expressing the dissatisfaction in front of the entire party. A real shame for otherwise lovely food

We moved away from this area 13 years ago and was visiting family so decided to have a meal here, what a gem of a place we had forgot how good the food was great atmosphere and service, if you visit have a fillet steak it’s just mouthwatering and tender the only thing I could say and most wouldn’t is your food is worth more than you charge!! Put your prices up it’s worth every penny.

Eating at Martins was such a pleasure. Our host, owner and cook, Martin, was a delight to spend time with. He came out to chat with us before and after our meal, making us feel so very welcome. And the food...wow! We ordered three starters, mushrooms, baked camembert cheese and french onion soup. Everything was delicious. For our meals, we ordered rack of lamb, chicken cordon bleu, and liver and onions. The mains were fantastic and served with incredibly generous portions of new potato's, crisps and assorted fresh vegetables. The house wine was lovely! For dessert we ordered the evening special which was a raspberry and creme cake roll, a toffee cheesecake, and a fruit bowl with cream. I can't say when I have topped off my dinner with a more luscious dessert. We all agreed that this was by far the best meal we have had on our trip to the UK and perhaps, one of the best meals we have had period! The room is adorable, serving on 20 or so people, creating an intimate, yet friendly environment, you can't find in a chain restaurant or in a larger dining setting. If you are looking for a truly delicious and delightful dining out evening, please visit Martin in Uxbridge and give him our best!

Was so looking forward to visiting this restaurant. It’s always busy so booked 4 weeks ahead. Such a disappointment though. My rack of lamb was so tough (over cooked) I just couldn’t eat it. Of the four meals at our table three were not very good. The other two were over seasoned, much too much salt in the prawn dish and too much mustard in the stroganoff. Prawn cocktail and pate ok but no cooking involved there. The veg was good thankfully so filled up on that. Didn’t see the chef but waitress was apologetic.

Martin cooks the best steak in Uxbridge. Been going there for many Years. Never a fails to impress. Martin sources his ingredients locally. He always comes around the tables after the meal and asks if all was ok.

This tiny restaurant is absolutely superb. Martin serves quality food, expertly cooked, at very reasonable prices. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and the service is excellent. We live a long way away but it's definitely worth the journey for another visit.

Not been here for a few years but always loved the food and their prices and portions are good too; If I was to level any criticism well it can be rather noisy when full/nearly full so the restaurant might benefit from some sound deadening materials on the walls which may well absorb some of the laughter and joviality which can be prevalent in this establishment. Overall it would be hard to find a better place to eat.

You always know what to expect here, whatever you order from the menu you will enjoy. The menu is a little limited but that said Martin cooks everything to perfection. Good value for money and would always recommend.

Martins place is a great little restaurant. The perfect steaks with massive sides of chips, potatoes and fresh vegetables. The steaks are unbelievable. The place only holds around 16-20 people but that means the service you get is immaculate. The foods great, the service is great and everyone is so friendly including Martin himself who checks to see if the food is up to standard personally. Would defiantly go back if I ever go Uxbridge again. BOOK IN ADVANCE TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT!

Have walked past a couple of times and always busy, but this time was quiet ( Monday night) 3 fillet steak ordered, with various sauces.

With great pride and care, owner Martin expertly cooks up each meal in this quaint cafe. Here you order your entree, which is then served with heaping bowls of fresh vegetables. All of the food is delicious, including the various appetizers. As we finished dinner, we struck up conversations with guests at the neighboring tables. Martin, who had completed his chef duties, joined in the conversations.

Small bistro with limited menu. Only one vegetarian main. But Camembert was an amazing starter, crispy on outside, pure liquid cheese on inside. The steak was cooked to perfection, but the best bit was the onion rings. Very large portions, took the leftovers home. The dessert was disappointing, bland ice cream from a tub. Not really a house wine fan, but the house red was smooth and easy to drink

We arrived about 8.30 I think it was Laura who greeted us Friendly and helpful as ever.We were show to our table the house wine was good value and very good, the meal was fantastic we both had steak expertly cooked with a wide verity of accomplements. Stayed in the town for 1 night and after doing some research settled on this Gem of a Place I really cannot Fault it when we arrived it was fairly busy with only 1 waitress on and the Chef Martin but that didn't effect the Service the Waitress who I can't remember her name is a Gem and knows her stuff we all had the steak which was incredible I would recommend it and the prices are very reasonable. I had never saw this before but to get to the toilet u have to walk into the kitchen are lol I didn't mind but just thought it was unusual but sure look the food was incredible and that's all that matters. Don't know when I'll be in that neck of the woods again but if I am this is where I will eat. Sláinte

We went on a Monday night and had a lovely evening, having the whole place to ourselves! The mozzarella, tomato and basil salad was deliciously fresh. Fillet steaks were melt in the mouth and more than enough with huge side orders thrown in (no hidden extras here). Wine was good and well priced with it! Martin was a one man band and the food and service were both excellent! Top value and great venue! We will be back

A party of 12 of us booked Martin's place for my 70th. We had a great evening with plenty of food and drink. The fillet steaks are the best we have ever had. Could not fault the food. Such a cosy little restaurant but it's advisable to pre book a table especially at weekends. Recommended.

Amazing. The excellent reviews are all true . Literally could not fault a thing. Very relaxing homely atmostphere. We were instantly relaxed. The flavour in the marinesque sauce is to die for. Best restaurant in Uxbridge for sure.

Went to Martins Place last night for anniversary meal with my husband. Couldn't fault the food and the service. Both Martin and the waitress were very friendly.

Eat here yesterday evening and found the food excellent and the staff so friendly it was as if we were regular visitors - the menu is varied enough for anyone, the food is plentiful, tasty and served piping hot. Definitely intend visiting again.

This is a small friendly restaurant with good quality food and wine. We have now been a couple of times, it is always advisable to book as it is really small. Each time the experience has been excellent - the food is great and the staff are amazing - a really good place to enjoy a meal with friends.

We have been meaning to go to Martins Place for many years, people have recommended it, and having walked passed it on numerous occasions it always seems busy.

Kleines, gepflegtes Restaurant. Sehr freundliche Bedienung. Sehr sehr gutes Essen. Portionen ausreichend. Gemütliche Atmosphäre. Mit anderen Worten - es war perfekt. Wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt, kann ich nur weiterempfehlen. Sollten wir wieder in dieser Gegend sein, werden wir es sicher wieder besuchen.

This small restaurant (about 20 covers normally has 2 sittings). The interior is not 'on trend' and is s bit of a throwback to the 80's. But we don't come her for the styling - it's all about the food. Martin is the owner and chef. It is a small menu with steak being the most popular dish offered with a range of sauces. I personally love the calves liver which is always tender and moist. You are given a generous bowlful of vegetables and chips and new potatoes. You certainly don't feel cheated on portion size. The wine is very reasonably priced and the pancakes are a great option to finish the evening. There is only waitress who serves all the tables and she was very attentive on our last visit. Our meal for 4 with drinks came to just over £100. I am glad to say our visits to Martins Place have always been a positive experience

Met some lovely people there and the food was great. The owner was fantastic as it was a busy Saturday night. Very welcoming place and we will be back again with friends.

Haven't been here for a while and it is still as good as I remember.The restaurant has had a lick of paint and a general spruce up. Steak as good as ever plenty of veg included.We won't leave it as likely mgmt to return

Booked by the boss for a meal with the team, when we arrived I wondered what she had booked to be honest, it was a very hot day and Martins place was warm, but on seating were offered drink straight away a lovely cold beer, others had wine, white and red and soft drinks all bought out to us by the very attentive waitress. Food order was taken as Martin place filled up with all 20 covers, they had to pretty much get 20 meals ready all at the same time, noticed the low music was of good taste and suitable for most, I ordered fillet steak as I normally do when out and this has to be one of the best I have had, served with as many chips and veg as you wanted pretty much, would go back and again enjoyed the company and the food was great.

As always martins place offers that personal touch to classic food. A lovely little restaurant not held up by corporate rubbish. Personal touch and fantastic food and service. Would always recommend to friends and family.

Small 18/20 covers in pleasant surroundings. Always a friendly welcome by Martin and the Waitress. Good piping hot homemade food with fresh vegetables at very reasonable prices. Once you have tried them you will want to return.

I have been here plenty of times with my Family over the years. Martin is a excellent chef. We have yet to come across a problem. The food is always piping hot and served quickly. The staff are always very polite. I will definatly be going back there very soon.

For the quality, experience and price you will be hard pushed to find better! We have been here several times now and the quality of the food is always outstanding! Over time we've tried the "Dufftown" and "Martinesque" fillet steak, rack of lamb and T-Bone steak. All are absolutely delicious! The garlic mushrooms for starter are a firm favourite!! The restaurant itself is quite different - one man; Martin, cooks (hence the name) and a lovely lady serves. The toilets are a quick walk through the kitchen but it gives you a chance to glimpse at the master at work. Music gently plays in the background while tea lights and fairy lights create a beautiful ambience! We usually order house white or Pinot Grigio and both are very nice. Your meal comes with a healthy sized portion of chips, new potatoes and veg. This place is always busy so you will need to book! I really love it here!!

You always know your going to get a good meal at reasonable cost here. We were a large group that nearly filled this placed so did feel a little sorry for the only two other couples here on the night. You probably wanted a quiet meal and we were a little loud so sorry for that! Martin is a great chef and you could order anything from the menu and know your'e going to enjoy it.

Martins Place is a little local gem. Martin is really friendly and the food really well cooked and amazing value. I had a great lasagne and a little carafe of coffee with cream. Not many places do that anymore, which I miss. Friendly, well made, fun. They don't make them like they used to.

We go to Martin's Place regularly. It is always good. The welcome from the waitress Charlotte and Martin makes you feel completely relaxed. The menu is not vast but every dish is freshly prepared and cooked to order. THE steak is always perfect.My favourite is the chicken Corden bleu.The seating area is quite small but this makes it a very intimate and warm atmosphere.Martin comes out to check that all of his guests are happy with the food.There is good quality wine for a very reasonable price as well as beers,spirits and the liqueur coffee. This finishes the evening before just walking next door for a cab home Wis he'd that we had found it earlier.

Me and my boyfriend went here for valentines and the food was spot on, everything we had was absolutely lovely would definitely recommend the duck, the atmosphere in general was lovely such a nice little restaurant would recommend to anyone!
