We had a great Christmas day meal

Lovely table by fire, great service and great food. This was dinner on Boxing day and seemed very organised amongst the busyness!

Staff were very attentive and polite, there was a nice atmosphere to the dining area with a warm log fire burning. Food was ok, very well presented but the pork belly meat was dry and tough - maybe I just had a bad one. Drinks were great, good selection and the London Pride on draught was spot on.

We took our granddaughter to the Marsh on Tuesday 10th Dec. We had the festive menu and our granddaughter had macaroni cheese and garlic bread. Our food was delicious made even better by our bubbly friendly waitress Terri she was very attentive and nothing was too much for her. Thanks for a great experience.

It was my birthday and as we are regular visitors we were treated very well as we are always. I even received a card which was a lovely surprise. Steph, Jake and all the staff are all very friendly.

Lovely family celebration mea. Reccomend the seasonal festive menu and ribeye steak. Chips wete also delicious

We ate here on Saturday night. Our waiter was a young man called Alex who was very friendly and polite it makes a real change to have someone to serve you like this who doesn't look as if they don't really want to be there. Thank you so much Alex for being nice and cheerful

Drinks order incorrect. Coffee and flapjack order incorrect- the flapjacks had run out, but nobody informed us! Instead just served the coffee without saying anything. We had to go the bar and ask…the substitution was pre packaged biscoff biscuits! The room was freezing and coats were needed

Very expensive, small portions and LOW QUALITY food. 'Medium-rare' rib-eye steak was as dry as a bone. Did not come with the sauce. Salad missing from vegetarian dish. Chips ok. Staff did not check on us! Despite being a small dining area, we had to be seated with others because: "we don't have the staff for that area" (2 meters away...) The app deals are a con. Could not use any of the vouchers. App deleted. Never shall return. Garden is in a bad state too.

Had a lovely 3 course meal here, and all 3 courses were absolutely delicious! Service was great and very friendly, and it's a really nice pub. Would definitely recommend this pub.

Chain pub with fake olde worlde interior and exterior (it was built circa 2002, not in 19th century as it says in the description) but very pleasant nonetheless. Food is OK but nothing special, portions a bit on the mean side. Serves real ale but nothing out of the ordinary and the guest beer can be much more expensive than the others.

The staff were all really pleasant and knowledgeable, we were seated right away and had the right amount of service. Especially the young waiter (Alex I think?) who put up with father in laws crap jokes. The food was generally good, although unfortunately I felt the chicken pie was bland and a bit stingy, with less than a cm of filling in the dish, with the rest being pastry and air. The veg and mash were lovely though. The soup was delicious although served lukewarm rather than hot. I did not mention these at the time as father in law was already complaining about his steak and a mixup with his sauce so I didn't want to make things worse. I'm sure the staff would have been happy to warn my soup though. The place is beautifully decorated, although we felt a little crammed in and the men's bathroom looks like a crime scene with a broken mirror and dent in the wall like it's been punched.

Lovely place to eat with good food.

As a couple we went twice in a week, the second time because we’re so pleased with the food and the service, but the second time was a disappointment. On the first visit our meals were the sea bass and the fish pie, which was a “special” and had nice chunks of salmon, prawns and white fish with a hot mash topping, obviously freshly cooked, both meals were excellent. Also the person serving us was very knowledgeable about the food and the drinks menu. The Mediterranean style lager was surprisingly tasty as he said. He also took some time to talk with us, which was very welcoming. However on our second visit the service was slower, there was no “specials” menu and the food we chose was disappointing. The chicken curry was pleasant but not outstanding, and there didn’t appear to be much variety of flavours in the sauce. The lasagne appeared very basic, okay but not outstanding. It almost felt like we’re in a different pub! The redeeming feature was the log fire near our table which added to a good atmosphere.

Didn't eat but lovely pub and excellent service. Very friendly and accommodating. Definitely going back for a meal as they looked scrummy!

First class meal, food was absolutely delicious and you could tell it was such good quality. Service was also great, I think our waitress was called Leah and she was attentive without crowding us and went above and beyond to ensure we had a good experience. 10 out of 10 we will definitely return again.

Lovely pub & friendly atmosphere, complete with charming log fire. Staff very attentive, hats off to Alex who did an exemplary job waiting on tables. The menu was varied and food delicious…we will definitely be back and will be sure to recommend to friends & family.

Great place to meet up with family for a Sunday Roast. Been before as we have been happy here quite a few times. Both disabled slots were taken but my elderly Mum coped with the distance from a space nearby. This time, Leah & Alex served us well, efficiently and courteously. They were quickly on hand with extra gravy when one boat got knocked over accidentally. And again when guests got mixed up with the pudding order, supplying a changed choice.

Went there for a family Sunday lunch with 8 of us. All meals were virtually cold. Asked for more gravy which was similarly only warm. Surely gravy can be hot! My pork was just a large chunk of mainly fat. The cauliflower cheese was just cauliflower with parmesan cheese grated on top. Told this was 'how they do it'! Several other issues and overall food was very disappointing. Staff were friendly and helpful though

Down for a weeks holiday what a pub this one is, excellent trad beers 🍻 and got a takeaway sunday lunch which was roast turkey dinner, roast beef dinner both easily 10/10

Had drinks here. It's well located and has some very nice cozy areas to sit. Will try the food next time as it looked good, but was just there for drinks this time.

Great food but the whole meal was made so much better by the awesome service by Leah and Alex. Thank ou, and we will be back.

Great local pub with good menue and some tasty beer. Friendly, welcoming staff and plenty of space to sit and relax. Easy car parking, clean toilets and I will definitely visit again!

Slow service. Food mediocre. My food arrived cold. Sent it back and it came back warm. Huge disappointment as it wasn’t a cheap meal. The dogs enjoyed the cold lamb.

Food was really good portion size, good value and vegi options Service was very good, eventhough busy this was not noted the server was very attentive, food was quick and good quality. Will definitely be back.

Seabass was overcooked and dark brown, which killed all the flavour of the fish. This is something a chef should know and avoid. Shame. Rest of the food was ok. Nice staff and decent beer.

Pleasent visit with a friend only marred by ordering the orange juice served to our table, unknowingly I assumed it was still orange, I shook it only to find the screw top had been loosened and the contents we sprayed all over the table and menu. Staff quickly cleaned up. Very good food and service.

Having been here many times before, this time I was somewhat disappointed with the food. We went for a Sunday roast and, although we arrived for a 1pm seating, the food quality was poor. We only had 2 slices of the chosen meat and the roast potatoes were not crunchy at all. The parsnips were not even recognisable with a weird color and again no crispness at all. The service was good, as normal but just off with the food. Hopefully a one off as we do go here on occasion when meeting family in Norwich.

Service was very welcoming and friendly and although staff were very busy nothing was too much trouble. Food was excellent, although vegetables were quite hard (the way I like them!) but others with me were not keen. Apart from this everything was excellent.

Amazing what a find. We wish we lived closer to be able to visit more often. The steak was cooked perfectly and the best peppercorn sauce I've tasted

Booked in last minute on a drive home, service was fast and super friendly and allowed us to move when a large party sat near us. Food was freshly made and tasted delicious and so many good choices on the menu we’ve decided we’ll have to come back to try them all. Super a beautiful interior too with exposed brick walls and fireplaces, super warm and super friendly.

Leah was a great host, food was good and we were not rushed, Toilets are about ten mins from the tables. Enjoyed our evening thank you!

Great place for an evening meal with family or friends. We went on a Friday evening two couples the venue was clean very welcoming lovely decor. We were warmly great by staff very friendly atmosphere. The menu was excellent lots of choice very good prices. The service was at a good speed not to fast and not to slow you never felt rushed or like you were waiting. The staff regularly checked to see if we were ok and needed any thing. The menu was so inviting we had three courses each in the end. The food was first rate great taste portion size was very good and presented excellently. I have a severe allergy and I made the waitress aware as we placed the order she was very good checked with the kitchen if there would be any issues with any of the dishes. Sometimes it’s difficult as I have found in some place your made to feel like a total pain it was so nice to not have this feeling nothing was to much trouble. We noticed all my meals came out first with a little flag in them this made me feel very reassured that they had take on board the allergy and I felt completely at ease. The whole evening experience was great wonderful food great service good price and lovely atmosphere. I would highly recommend thank you marsh harrier.

We came for a Sunday roast with our two young children. Crayons and paper were provided for my girls which kept them entertained, bonus! We had a beef roast, lamb roast, cauliflower cheese & two children’s meals. I have to say the children’s meals were an excellent portion size! 3 sausages with mash & veggie sticks followed by a ice lolly, they thoroughly enjoyed it. Our roasts were to die for! The best I’ve ever had. Presentation & portion size were fantastic. Staff were extremely welcoming & friendly! We will definitely be back for our next roast dinner! I also got to use my Blue Light Card which was great as many places don’t accept this on weekends. Thank you to all the staff for being so kind & helpful and serving delicious food!!

I rarely bother leaving reviews but I had to say how good this place was. We ate here and found plenty of choice for two adults, two teenagers and two kids. I couldn’t fault the service which is rare these days and the food was amazing. I would go as far as to say that the burger I had was the best I’ve ever had. Absolutely delicious. We had mains, sides and drinks for six and the bill was very good value. Atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. Don’t have any negatives at all. Can’t recommend highly enough!!!

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Ambience was lovely, decor very nice. Bit disappointing to learn that fixed lunch menu is only Mon- Thursday as we came for that specifically. I then chose my main of duck pizza only to be told there were no pizzas being served. We did consider leaving to be honest. Then we realised we weren’t near any other restaurants so chose again. It was tasty but we found it expensive compared to the many other venues we visit monthly.

Great food and lovely atmosphere

Went there after our Sons graduation. The first ale was awful, but they changed to with no issues. There was a little issue with one of the meals, but once again, it was sorted straightaway. There was a young lady serving us at the start, but her shift finished, so Beth took over. She was great. Friendly and professional service.

Table of 7 booked well in advance and very happy to receive a reminder text on the day of my reservation. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted and sat at our table. We were served at the table by someone with a short nature she really didn't look like she wanted to be there! Food arrived and looked fantastic however a member of my party after eating part of her food discovered a Sunday day dot within her mash. Spoke to the waitress and she apologised profusely and said she would communicate this to the kitchen and her manager. No offer of compensation was offered or any apology from kitchen or manager. I understand that sometimes these things happen however it's how you deal with them afterwards is what the Marsh Harrier seems to have forgotten.

We had a delicious Sunday lunch with friends. The portions were enormous, the staff super helpful,cooperative and friendly.

Food was lovely but Service was so slow. Had to wait so long for a waitress to come to our table and then a long wait for food.

We just had an absolutely great meal here. The food was great, the beer garden is really pleasant to eat in and the staff (Leah, Zoe and Ross (pretty sure it was Ross, so sorry if not)) were lovely; really friendly, helpful and efficient. We were made very welcome and will certainly come back next time we’re in Norwich which I hope will be soon.

Went for a meal with friends lovely food. The steak pie I ordered didn’t have a lot of meat in and they didn’t charge for whole meal because of this. Was still very happy to pay for the meal as the it was delicious! The other meals we ordered were lovely! Would certainly recommend. ☺️

Had a lovely meal here on Tuesday evening with a friend, Leah and Zoe would excellent and allowed us time to chat before we ordered. Highly recommend a visit.

Very friendly helpful staff and were most obliging allowing us to park a car there beforehand to visit and elderly relative. Generous portions and tasty food. The gravy was certainly not the tasteless bisto style I expected but absolutely delicious Certainly will return and thank you for your hospitality

Came today for lunch and really enjoyed a two course meal with my family. The service was wonderful and everyone was lovely and helpful with our questions. A lovely place to enjoy a meal.

Had a great Sunday lunch, trio of meats. The food tasted lovely and there was definitely plenty of it. Leah and Alex looked after us superbly and were very polite and extremely helpful. Will definitely be coming back to try other delights from the menu.

Plenty of parking, out door seating, and lots of room inside. Staff good although we got our bill without asking. Felt like we were being rushed, the place was busy but far from fall. Food nice well presented and gravey to go with the pie did not need to ask for more. Had to point out crips were out of date. But we will be back next time in Norwich.

Hadn't visited the Marsh Harrier for several years and some in the party had never visited. Booked at a lunchtime and enjoyed a delicious meal with good service and atmosphere. Will return again at some point.

The place it self is nice but price of the food seemed really expensive.

Great service & food was excellent, Beth & Kate were very friendly & unobtrusive. Checked with chef on my allergy which is very reassuring.

It does feel that there's been quite a hike in prices since last time we visited. Also, portion sizes have got smaller. The quality of the food is good, the staff are welcoming and friendly and it is a good place to eat. However, it's not what I would say is good value.

Visited here whilst on holiday in the area. Place is nice, staff are lovely. Mixed reviews on the food, I loved mine (the penang curry) but my partner had the burger and was decidedly unimpressed. Cannot remember what starters we had. Plus, none of the food was hot, with the chips being cold and had to be sent back. Lots of choice, some quite unusual, but it needs to come out hot.

A nice pub where is served a good beer, ginger beer and excellent coffee.

Brilliant food and really amazing attentive staff. I am an allergy sufferer and Alex our waiter remembered about my allergy from the last time we ate here (which was quite a while ago) before I had to even tell them! Thank you so much & thank you Alex
