Marquis of Wellington in Southwark

It’s a really nice pub, lots of art and doodles dotted around. The staff are generally quite nice, but when I pop in on Saturdays I can’t help but get the feeling they’re always understaffed. More often than not they will have only 1 or 2 bartenders on each side of the bar. Feel a bit sorry for them tbh. But besides that it’s a decent place.

We were a party of six. Got some pizzas and they arrived with 10- 15 min difference. Pizza dough is not fresh and they were tasteless

Staying in centra London and looking for a good feed at good prices. This is it. Maybe about 10 min walk from tower bridge Good service and pizzas were great. 29 pound for the 2 pizzas and 2 pints

Came for a drink and to sit outside in the sun. Was served quickly and the staff behind the bar were very friendly. Loved the range of drinks and the atmosphere was great

I visited the Marquis of Wellington today and had a disappointing experience. I was stood by the bar with another customer waiting for 3-4 minutes whilst 2 members of staff ignored us. It was only when a third member of Staff appeared when we were informed that they were only serving on the other side of the bar and we would need to go around. Not a problem, but no signs to say so and we could have been told earlier. I was part of a table of three, and we'd order two pizzas to share between us. After they were delivered to the table, I popped back in to ask for cutlery and an extra plate. I was informed very bluntly that they did not have cutlery (fine), and that they only have the pizza trays, not plates. I said oh, ok, that's fine I'll take a pizza tray, and was told 'I don't know what you want me to say - we need those for other people's pizza orders'. It was just an unnecessary blunt and cold encounter, and left me feeling uncomfortable. I wouldn't come again - it doesn't take much to be courteous to your customers.

Bar très sympa, bonne ambiance. Pas d'attente, service au comptoir rapide, tarifs correct et bonne pizza (moins cher que dans le centre ville ^^) Nous voulions juste boire une bière, et en fait : nous avons pris 3 biéres et une pizza ;-)

Lovely atmosphere and staff are friendly. It’s a good place to visit if you’re looking to spend some time out with friends. Also, it’s just off the beer mile and shows most live sports. They have quite a bit of outdoor seating as well which I’m guessing is great in the summer.

Came to watch the rugby. Great atmosphere. The staff were really on it and the range of beer was fantastic. You could tell the staff really care about a good pint of beer and the quality was great

Good spot for casual drinks with friends. The pizzas are also good and well priced. Especially good around Christmas if you want to visit Maltby St.

Well, I wrote a review a few years ago and decided to try this place again. Terrible, unprofessional, ignorant staff with no manners. They can’t say hello and have a problem with please and thank you. I can’t understand why this place gets busy. Probably the worst pub I’ve ever been to. I will not go here again until it changes management and they replace the staff. Would love management to send a mystery shopper, that would be an eye opener. Shame on stone gate, what a sad pub with such terrible staff that have no manners, shame on their parents.

Called for a quick drunk as it was hot & we were thirsty. Asked for a couple of lime & sodas which the server made from scratch with fresh lime. She handed them to me and said "these are on me". I was staggered!! And very happy. Awesome service 👏. Thanks

What a quirky fun and friendly place, popped in for a catch up with friends and indulged on the delicious stone baked pizzas, also the buy one get one free Aperol spritz was a welcomed surprise. This will now be our meet up point in the future ❤️

The staff are very friendly and the pizzas are really nice, the selection of beers is good, would be recommended to friends.

Went In for a quiet pint, was presently surprised by the quick service and wide selection even met a friendly man called Steve.

Visited this pub on Sat evening and managed to leave behind a bottle of champagne which was a birthday present! Phoned the pub on Sun morning expecting it to be long gone but a lovely customer had handed it in and the even lovelier staff kept it safe until Mon lunchtime. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning!

Booked a table for the 6 nations launch and will sure be booking again. Great little quirky pub with a fantastic craft beer line up and great stone baked pizzas. Staff were friendly and efficient.

My fave pub ever. I used to come here as my work local and now I live nearby I come here even more. It was actually the selling point for me when picking my next flat. The staff are always so friendly and helpful, special shout outs to Killian, Kai, Alex, Mika and Grace. I feel so safe in this pub and welcome all the time. It’s a lovely local pub but also has great vibes on busy nights too. Can’t recommend this place enough, I bring everyone I know here. As a woman, it’s an amazing feeling to feel safe and I can assure you, you will feel that here. They don’t tolerate rude customers which I appreciate because a lot of pubs will put money first and accept rudeness but genuinely this pub is all about nice people. It’s got great prices, food, drinks and people. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.

Avoid this place. Wanted a drink after an archery lesson and made the unfortunate mistake of choosing this pub. The barman with a beard and tattoos is one of the rudest people I have ever encountered. Safe to say we had over drink and sharply left.

Omg probably the dirtiest pub I’ve ever visited, staff are miserable and unfriendly and have no manners, completely shocked at how horrible this pub is. Will never set foot in there again. Nearly fell off my bench as it was broken. Poor excuse for a pub.

After visiting the Tower of London we were starving but wanted someplace out of the madding crowd. Found this place in Bermondsay which was a bit of a walk but worth it. The Pizza's here are the absolute best especially, the perfect ending to the bermondsey beer mile. The female bartender with the blond buzzcut and nose piercing really made the experience even better. she had proper bants with myself and the lads when we came in.

Good choice of beers as stock all local brewery varieties. Pizza oven on site which is lovely. At weekends usually have guest food van as well. Opposite Rope Walk with all food places and drinks on the Saturday. Also meet point for bermondsey beer mile.
