This pub is OPEN OPEN again (05Aug24) and I had a drink in there today. Not much changed inside (thankfully) but it was looking neat and tidy after being spruced up. Lovely new couple has taken over but SS regime as always (no kids, no dogs, no food, no TVs, no music, no phones or laptops and ..... no swearing🤣🤣). Exactly what we like about SS pubs✔✔ I only gave it 4* because there was no OBB but I enjoyed the SS XXXX beer at £2.30 a pint. OBB will be put on once the drinkers return in numbers 🤣

It's been closed for over a year now. They have just finished a refurbishment but it's still borded up months later. Maybe they can't find anyone to run it?

Cheap drinks. £2.08 a pint. Good classic pub. Good beer garden out the back. Spacious inside with a few draughts on tap. Quick service. Unfortunately no contactless so bring cash. Locals are nice and dog friendly in the beer garden. Huge car park out the back.

Love this oldy worldy traditional pub on Framwellgate Front Street. Samuel Smiths ales lager and Cider. Great local pub atmosphere. Locals welcome u and u find u easily join in with the banter of the town. Landlord Excellent too. Great sense of Humour.
