Marmaris Indian Takeaway in South Lanarkshire

Recently bought over and I'm having to change my 5 star to a 2 star...really disappointed with new management...no marmaris own website so have to order on just eat which is extortionate, took ages to come rather than the usual under 20 mins and the food is not a patch on its old owners...think they must have a cheese shortage now...very sad, used to be my favourite

Usually great and best curry in EK. Recently ordered on their own website and never got my delivery. It said the restaurant rejected the order but it still took my money. They told me it’s recently under new ownership so they don’t have access to the online order system. So be careful ordering on their own website. It worked fine until very recently, now I have to open a dispute with my bank which is annoying. Not an apology or sympathy on the phone

Great take away there buffet's are amazing

Used to order from here reasonably regularly but over the past few months the food and the service has gone downhill. I get the impression the front of counter staff couldn't care less. I've watched as they mock folk coming in after they've had few drinks. A kind of Muslim superiority is the only way I can describe it. Left a very bad taste and won't be back.

Service was beyond imagination, tge owner is a gem, made us quite a ginormous shawarma which was fantastic, would definitely be going back.

was a regular customer at Marmaris until tonight when my order was late and when I phoned to see where it was they said I was lying and that my order had already been delivered. Continued to tell them I hadn’t received my order and they proceeded to argue with me on the phone saying they believe their driver. Will not be ordering from them again as their customer service is shocking.

Used again and can only say the inflated prices don’t match the quality. Very very expensive takeaway. So we have used this takeaway often as my husband loves the garlic dip, however recently we have been really taken aback with price increases, we ordered a donner calzone, a chicken bhuna with rice, chips, popadoms, onions and sauce & some dips. We were £47 including delivery. This has now become unaffordable for us. We will need to really consider what we order and if we order going forward. Food was good as usual. Gutted that these inflated prices are hitting everyone so hard.

Staff try to rob u as much as possible. Food is cold and tastes like it’s been microwaved. Also smells. If u want good food in the village I would recommend rangoli

Have always got deliveries from here. very fast delivery time and freshly cooked food. Recently though too many deliveries have taken much longer..food is cold..re-fried cold chips.which are hard and inedible..this happened again tonight. Not sure if different chefs on different nights and different delivery drivers..but tonight was my last order. Don't know.if restaurant reads these reviews..but they should

Sad to leave this review. Been ordering from here for 10 years (in its previous & current form) Arrived about 11:50. Got to the counter at 12:02. Refused service. Won’t be back.

Says they ae open till 1am on Apple Maps yet closed before then, however kept the door open.

Food was awful! Naan bread was over cooked and the curry I ordered did not taste like what it should have done! Very disappointing. I also ended up with an upset stomach the next day

Got pakora. More like burnt spicy rock cakes!! Eaten pakora in a lot of the places and in my opinion this place a the WORST EVER!!! Definitely NOT GOING BACK HERE

Me and my family always order from here! Man at the front is amazing and is not stingy with the food at all! 12 inch munchie box 4 of us ate and still couldn’t finish. The best kebab place I only order from! Recommend

Food is always outstanding. The chicken tikka kebabs are unbelievable.

Picked up food on way home 2 small portion couldn't finish they were huge

On our way back from a show with our Grandson, who was starving At this point we were passing Marmaris. We used.to go there a lot in the past, but we haven't been for years. It's a great wee takeaway. The grandson had chips and cheese, we took chicken pakora and veg pakora home with us. It was absolutely delicious. Freshly made while we waited it was worth every single penny of the £24 it cost. The portions were enormous and fed four of us till we were full. Great place, great staff, really nice people running the shop. We will defo be back!

As always a quality delivery no matter what you order...... In my opinion the best donner meat in east Kilbride.

Very large portions, tastes great, fab service

This place stays open above it's agreed licence hours. It doesn't care about the noise that is creating to local residents. I have video evidence of this, and will be forwarding it to relevant licening board. I have warned/told them about this, but, no change.

Expensive. £7.00 for small donner. ? Don't entertain....

Not a new restaurant but first time for us. Won't be the last though. Delicious food and massive portions (we got a second meal out of ours). Great value for money.

They clearly know that customers have had a few drinks on a Saturday night, therefore they take advantage . overpriced garbage .

My order came to £17, gave the driver £20 note.. he’s then tried to give me 15p change and told me he has no money… he’s then said he’ll come back with the money, gave me a can of Fanta and £1.70??!!! I know it’s not a lot of money but after waiting 1hr 30min can I at least get my change? Won’t be back

Popped in for a donner kebab at the end of a day out. Place was busy but I didn't have to wait long and the food tasted like it should have. Used it a couple of times but only had a kebab so not sure what the other types of food on the menu is like.

First time here ordered chicken kebab, staff were friendly went out of there way to be of service, had nice chat they take card payments which was handy. I always say my experience is based on my experience. Defo be back in the future based on the attitude and service.

Best chicken donner kebab I've had for ages

My boyfriend went in drunk and by himself tonight and paid for pakora and pizza and the staff thought it would be funny to take advantage of him and take his money, not give him any food and say he didn’t pay even though the transaction is sitting in his pending transactions. Had a pizza before and it looked like road kill. Would avoid.

Went here to grab a quick meal tonight. Not from the area and didn’t know what to expect. Ordered a mixed doner kebab and chips and curry sauce. Was hot and tasty. Plenty of food, portions were generous. Spot on. Tasty. I don’t normally do reviews but felt this place deserve one. Shall definitely return at some stage.

Best Fast Food In EK by far. Food is always fresh.

Spent £19.50 on a collection. Food was pretty terrible, Pakora was reheated, chips and cheese had barely any cheese, the donner we ordered wasn’t great either. Another issue the currys taste very watered down, I’d recommend trying anywhere else if your looking for nice genuine food. • Pakora is chewy, overcooked and not great quality • food is only good if your coming from the pub absolutely out your face 👍

Customer service was absolutely pipen

Got the lamb bhuna...was more bhuna than lamb. Very disappointing. I never have an issue with my food. Changed it up 3 bits of lamb sooo not good

We went here to get a takeaway this evening and I figured a burger wouldn't be enough, so I got a 1/2lb burger, chips and chicken donner and shared a chicken pakora. I was so wrong, the portions were big and well worth the money. I had a good bash at it and ended up in a food coma. Thoroughly enjoyed it, thank you.

The last 3 times iv been in has been at the weekend after 12am and all times the guy with cap I think it's the owner has short changed me then gets annoyed when I point this out avoid at all costs

Every meal we have had over the 7 (?) years since I discovered this place has been either excellent or outstanding , depending on which chef is on duty. What drew me to it was it served fresh salad with nearly everything! That is the Aussie way ! Beacon and egg burger came with salad in Brisbane when I was a kid.

Perfect every time. Service great, food is amazing, deliveries are quite quick.

The owner is very specific when its crowded. He refuses to take card payment below £5 which he usually takes when its not crowded. That really sucks, not visiting this place for any take overs too. You’ve lost one customer due to your unnecessary arrogance. Never see you!!

I've been a customer for a good few months now and this is definitely my favourite takeaway! Always a very quick and very friendly delivery, the food is so fresh it always comes still sizzling! Chips are the best, so soft and fluffy but still crispy.. what else can I say, I highly recommend this place!

Have been a regular customer for few year but past 6month kababs been small in large container pay for large last 3 have had hard bit in it phoned up says ment 2 be like that then ask for 2 tubs sause got 1 phoned up was told u need pay delivery charge for 50p sause that i asked for in first place not going back

Placed an order that never arrived. After waiting over an hour, contacted the restaurant who said order was with a driver and would be 15mins, 40mins later no delivery. Gave up waiting, just never bothered to send it. 2 hours wasted rather than just say the order wasn't coming. Abysmal service.

This is the worse carry out I’ve ever had.. chicken pakora, all batter and small amount of chicken.. Large king kebab.. Nan bread was solid. One small tub of sauce, half full. Never order from Mathis again..

If bogging chicken your thing picked from every part apart from the breast. This chicken king nan is for you. Rank rotten at best Forgot jucie with delivery as well. Thumbs down, never use again

Not inclusive to people with disabilities. I wanted to order a hoagie but I can’t used cutlery anymore cause of a hand that doesn’t work and another hand that the fingers lock some and have tremors. I asked for the order to come separate ie in different containers the chips and cheese, chicken then the salad and sauce and chapati so I can rip bits of the chapati and make it up myself so it is easier for my hands as I cannot use cutlery if it’s built I would need to use cutlery which I cannot do anymore well especially with a hoagie. Thanks for not being inclusive I’d have paid extra if they said but no they didn’t allow me to. I think it’s shocking tbh

On 17th December ordered over £25 of food from just eat delivery was over 45 muns late food was cold when it arrived so I sent it back was told over the phone I would receive a refund still no refund shocking service will Never order or recommend them again.

I have ordered from Marmaris multiple times and the food always comes ahead of time and it is cooked perfect. Ive ordered curry pizzas (Fantastic) chicken pakora (the best in EK) Currys as well everything is brilliant. I'm not sure how this place has'nt got 5 stars but like most places you get the retards who give it a 1 for stupid reasons

Usually get a child's half portion of donner meat when buying a meal as my daughter doesn't like pitta sauce n salad, sent her in tonight and they said no we don't do that and charged £4.80 just for greasy crunchy hard bits of donner meat, lost a good customer and now get a much better deal at rangoli and they give me the wee portion free for her when buying a king kebab....... Have used for many years and ordered buffets and used weekly.... Not anymore.... Don't care that u r loyal customers....... Won't be using again

Delivery drivers who work for Marmaris EK take away are sly and untrustworthy, I ordered food, came to £12 I said take £13, I handed over two twenties (thought it was two tens) got £7 change (he took £27!) I phoned the restaurant telling them about the situation, and delivery driver is denying it !!!

I have ordered here since it opened years ago and have never had any problems. Best kebab in east kilbride. Only thing I would say is try and be more consistent with the amount of meat in the kebabs.

Twice went to this place and staff ignore you, they shout at each other in front of customers. Will never go back, avoid at all costs. Can't believe how bad this shop is.

Cracking food. Eat here all the time and the folk are really nice behind the counter. Some job they do when it is busy and that is pretty much all the time.

We’ve been ordering here for some time. We regularly order a large chicken tikka kebab. Priced at £7.50. Tonight the guy arrived and said it was £8.00. I handed him a £10.00 note and said to keep the change because it was a miserable night. I went inside and opened the kebab. It was a small one - very small. One piece of pitta bread and 3 small pieces of chicken. Clearly not worth the money even as a small portion. When I called to rectify this I was told to “pay another £2.00 delivery and we’ll swap it”. I suggested that the error was theirs. In no uncertain terms, in my 3rd attempt to swap it, I was to to “f**k off”. The phone was hung up. I’ll resolve this by visiting and getting a refund. Meantime, I’ve read a lot of online material on Facebook and would strongly suggest that for hygiene reasons you don’t visit the place.

Provided buffet for birthday party last night arrived on time and plenty of it. No complaints from anyone it went down a treat. Would recommend

Placed order at 11.35 on a Tuesday. Girl said it would be no longer than 30mins. Two hours later no food has arrived so guess they have forgot about it. Would not reccomend

Placed a booking for a buffet for my daughter's birthday party at the beginning of October, paid £40 cash as a deposit and told them what I wanted, no receipt for the deposit which had to be cash, went in 2 days before the party to check everything was alright and paid the balance, again cash and again no receipt, the food was meant to be delivered at 9.30 pm but didn't turn up at 9.45 went to the shop where I was told there was no order, after explaining to them I'd paid for the order I was offered a refund which I declined telling them I wanted the food which eventually turned up at the venue at 10pm. A right bad way to run a business, they need a person who speaks and understands the language, a diary for bookings and also a debit/credit card reader, oh and of course a receipt book. I and my family will not be recommending them to cater for any functions. Saying that when the food did turn up it was good. More customer care needed end of rant

Order a meal last night. The girls on phone hadn't a clue what they were doing, and also were quite rude. The meal arrived and the wrap that i ordered had 2 wee bits of chicken and no donner meat whatsoever just packed full with just salad. We also ordered xtra portions which weren't their either. I called and they were closed. I phoned back today and they said their is nothing they can do cause it was ordered over the phone and not online. They charged me £20 for a salad wrap and chips cheese and donner meat. Their service is shocking and the staff who answer the phone havent got a clue. Certainly won't be ordering again

Decent food but no credit/debit card facility...

I have ordered from marmaris for a while, and is the only place in East Kilbride, or anywhere near I would eat a kebab from. I usually ask for the meat to be cut really thin which they have always done and it has been lovely. I ordered a about a month ago and the meant was really thick, so I sent it back and it came and was fine. However I ordered last week and asked the girl twice to make sure the meat is thinly cut, again it can and was triangle chunks. When I phoned they said this was the thinnest they could cut it, when I order all the time and know this is lies. They said they would send another but only the kebab so the other stuff went cold. When it can it was much the same. I think it must depend who is working, so for this reason I won’t be ordering again
