Marks & Spencer Cafe in Liverpool

Didn't end up staying to eat as there is only ONE TOILET. This is absolutely ridiculous as I was with my elderly mother and someone was in the toilet and two people waiting. Absolutely ridiculous!! Cafe is tiny too. Bad customer service is all I can say.

Went to the new M&S cafe in Liverpool One. Very small in size. Had to wait in a queue ad wait until people vacated their tables. Got 2 sausage rolls which were nice flavour but bearly warm and served in paper bags. One coffee, one tea. Both served in takeaway cups. No cutlery, no proper plates, cups or salt & pepper or condiments except for sugar. Menu selection was very poor in comparison to other M&S stores. Only one toilet which was a disabled bathroom for both men & women. The queue for the bathroom was rather large and the queue went past our table. We spoke to three other patrons. We all said the same about how poor it was. Needless to say, I won’t be visiting there again.

Went into m and s to get lunch . Found a very small packed out cafe . Went to the toilet ( one toilet for the whole cafe /store..) Line of 5. Women waiting . Asked employee any more toilets , directed me to across the way to information centre. Paid to go for a wee . Come on m and s This should have been a larger cafe as per your other stores . What a let down will not be going back to this store. Whoever thought that a store with a small cafe with one toilet needs to get a new job . What a let down will.

This has to be the worst marks and Spencer in the country for having a tea or coffee and sandwich. Who ever at marks and Spencer designed this atrocity should be sacked immediately.price for tea and coffee in a paper cup disgusting, One toilet for ladies gentlemen and baby changing and people with a disability. You have to have your drink and sandwich next to huge queues for toilet.Really pathetic. Marks and Spencer claim they know more about food and preparation, they certainly don’t know how to run a cafe ,they need to go to John Lewis and see how a cafe should be run.

Dreadful worst m&s cafe we have been in paid top prices only to be give drinks in paper cups if we wanted paper cups we would have gone to subway. Come on m&s get your act together this cafe is to small and let's your brand down. If this is your vision for the future then you are going in the wrong direction people want more than this.

M&S opened this large new store just a year ago. How could anyone design a store this large with only one unisex toilet stall. To make it worse, that one toilet is in the tiny cafe, so you eat your food crowded out by the long line of people queuing for the toilet. No space, no atmosphere and lots of unhappy people standing with their legs crossed for ages. A year after opening this should have been dealt with. Not acceptable M&S.

Store has a very pleasant feel - display is an issue for me other similar stores have more vibrant displays. Food Hall excellent! Cafe very small. Offerings in sustainable containers is not an issue for me though may be for some. However 1 disabled toilet, baby change + use by able bodied in the whole store. I would like to know the reasoning behind this. A significant proportion of your clientele are of a certain age - like me! Are you able to address this?

Awful!!!!!! Firstly what cafe doesn’t serve food for children …… What cafe only have one toilet which is a disabled one which means if you did have a disability like my mum you have no chance of using the toilet anyway. What cafe only has limited places to sit in one of the biggest stores. Do NOT even bother eating in here sorry marks you have failed on this one. We were expecting the same service and quality as in the Trafford centre and other stores.

The worst marks and Spencer I have ever been to the cafe was not good one toilet for the store was terrible, it’s not what I expected for Marks and Spencer. Very disappointed.

Greatly underestimated the high demand. Way too small and chaotic, missed a trick not making this larger. Give the people what they want.

Staff are lovely. Had Americano with hot milk then accidently spilt it. Staff rushed over to replace the coffee free. Croissant was very tasty. It's a small pleasant cafe. With no room for a dishwasher, everything is in disposable cups and paper bags but that is not a problem Given 5 stars for the experience but Management need to consider adding extra toilets within the store as there is only one

Will M and S management please put this shabby excuse for a coffee shop out of its misery as soon as possible as it damages the reputation of the whole company by its very existence. Situated in a tiny alcove of the store it acts as an entrance to the toilets with just a few tables. Drinks are served in takeaway cups, tables are left uncleared and the poor two people running the show are rushed off their feet. But the overriding impression is of a tiny cafe dominated by people queuing to use the restroom. It resembles no other M and S cafe and is very poor. Avoid and go to the nearbyJohn Lewis which has a right sized cafe which can never be confused as a toilet waiting room.

We visited the new Marks and Spencer in Liverpool and decided to have a coffee and snack. Never again, terrible machine coffee, not real crockery and one toilet with access via the cafe. Huge queue of mainly women had to stand in the middle of the cafe to wait to use the toilet. An awful experience, didn’t even drink the coffee. We will never go there again and my advice is not to either.

This M&S coffee shop (as it is now branded) is worth avoiding. We queued for our food and drink, not a great deal of choice as usually found in M&S and more expensive. Toasted sandwiches served in cardboard sleeves which were too hot to hold. No seats available so forced to eat outside. Not a great experience.

The coffee tasted like and indeed was from a push button machine. The soya latte was made from sweetened soya milk. When is M&S at least going to give customers a choice? There were people queuing for the toilet through the cafe by my table. Staff friendly.

Throw away cups, no cutlery had to wait for a table to sit and eat what I had purchased, then share my table once got one. One toilet for men/women/disabled/baby change, therefore people queue through the cafe to use it. I will never visit again!

This has to be the worst M & S cafe in the country. We had tea & scones….. all came in cardboard container & a piece of wood that was supposed to be a knife . Takeaway cups for drinks . I wanted a cup, a plate and a stainless steel knife ….. but no they don’t do them . The tea was dreadful & undrinkable & scones were stale . Cutting them in half with a piece of wood was challenging . It’s a tiny cafe with one toilet . Staff were downright rude . Would I visit again ….. NEVER , not even if it was the only cafe in Liverpool. Give it a miss peeps !!!!

Terrible experience, where the seating is arranged, anyone needing the single toilet is stood at your side, who planned this? Service was slovenly, doled out with no interaction with customers. Paper cups and bun in paper bags, the bag becoming your plate to spread your butter! Almost £11 for two cups of tea and 2 hot cross buns, really poor experience, John Lewis in future

I have to agree with most of the other reviews - just one toilet ( not a block of toilets, just one cubicle ) in the corner of the cafe. Nothing in the rest of the store !! Cannot understand the logic and there was a queue of people waiting in a very small cafe area. Really poor design and as such we left and went to John Lewis's instead. An M and S cafe is one of my favourite stops on a shopping trip, but I won't be returning. Am amazed that they went ahead with this design as they have lost the majority of the cafe seats in the move, unless you enjoy having a coffee surrounded by people waiting for the loo !!!

My wife and I went to the M and S cafe in Liverpool One and were astonished to see how small it is especially when you think of the size of the store and the amount of people on it! We were lucky as when we entered a couple were leaving so I claimed that table whilst my wife ordered the coffees, which were delicious. We would like to see it expanded as it is miles too small for the amount of people who wish to use it. As somebody said earlier people like to meet up for a coffee, food or cakes especially around lunchtime and early afternoon. It’s alright for people who just want to grab a coffee and a bap and go back to work . Please try and double the size of the cafe at least to make the majority of your customers happy or you will lose a lot of custom!! Regards, Ron and June

Honestly the worst experience, save your money, possibly the worst cafe I have been in, unclean, 1 toilet for the whole shop, That's a disabled toilet shared for everyone. Go to the pound bakery and get a better experience. Awful.

I would have given it zero stars if there was an option. Far too small, coffee served in cardboard cup and cake given in a paper bag. We had to wait for quite a long time for a seat because the seating area is tiny.

Utterly terrible. What wally designed café for midgets and one Toilet. I waited 15 Minutes to go. This is a massive mistake and will cost them dearly. I will never grace this store again as I do like a nice café like Cheshire Oakes and Chester. I wouldn't even call this a café, more like a shed. I have heard of cost cutting but seriously this takes the Micky. This store must hold thousands of shoppers especially at Christmas so what happens if you have two young children who need to go? It has opened my eyes up the way these clown designers and developers work to just treat people as though they are just Plain stupid. Another Customer lost due to poor planning. So disappointed in the new M&S store in Liverpool I went today for a days Christmas shopping with my daughter we decided to go to M&S new store for lunch only to find it no longer has a proper cafe it’s grab & go food only I think you have made a mistake here M&S and the other thing it only has one toilet in the whole store the-queuing was a nightmare what is going on I definitely won’t be going again come on M&S you can do so much better.

The so-called ‘cafe’ is disgraceful … tiny, food looks unappetising, member of staff serving looked unhygienic and if that wasn’t bad enough, only one unisex toilet in the entire store. I turned round and walked out. I know M&S don’t give a toss about their customers, only profit but this has crossed a line. Won’t be returning. The store is horrible.

The cafe is tiny with about 7 to 8 tables. No dishes, no cutlery. Coffee and tea in recycled cups. Have to dispose of the food yourself. Staff very nice so hence the 2 stars. The stores 1 toilet is right in the tiny cafe with queues by our table. This is not how M and S used to be. The food may be nice but its now like a dockers cafe. So what have you done Marks. Whoever made that decision ought to be replaced. Cafe should be closed and a much bigger cafe provided with a dishwasher for the staff. So Marks your standard has dropped to zero. Until then not going to use the cafe again and everyone should take notice

TERRIBLE. We miss the old cafe with lovely staff, more food options and most importantly MORE SEATS. I had a sausage roll, you would get a better one in greggs. Oh my days! What is this place trying to be? Stuck.in a corner with insufficient seats, overpriced sandwiches and an "offer" of a pastry and a drink for £4.50? 😳 On entering, we didn't know where to go to.order or queue, people seemed to be milling about looking for seats to take the weight off their feet and enjoy a cuppa or suchlike, as a respite from shopping. Buying a beef brioche and asking if they had any mustard, I was told no, not even in a sachet. The brioche tasted dry and old...£5.50! If M&S want it to be used as a take out service, get rid of the seating. If they want it as a cafe, take it seriously and plan it properly! It is a real disgrace imho, for them to deem it acceptable to their valued, and valuable, clientele. Not just any disorganised, uninspiring, soulless, lacklustre café, this is a M&S café!

The staff are friendly and kind, nothing is too much trouble. I have difficulties in carrying a tray and without having to ask they always ask if I need help without making me feel useless.Fantastic team spirit and the food and drinks are lovely! Went here to get a quick snack before our theatre visit. There are plenty of tables which were being cleared regularly. Disappointingly we were not able to have toasted teacakes as no hot food was being done when we arrived around 18.00. The carrot cake I chose instead was lovely and moist although a bit expensive. The coffee was good. I am used to a M&S; cafe where you give your order at the till and then another staff member makes it. The poor lad on duty was having to do everything. A satisfactory experience.

Fui de compras con dos ancianos discapacitados. Uno de ellos necesitaba el inodoro, pero estaba sucio e irreprochable. Sorprendente ya que observamos un letrero en la puerta que indicaba que se había limpiado. Nos acercamos a un miembro del personal con respecto a la debacle y nos dijeron "siempre se puede usar el inodoro en el metro". ¿Por qué deberíamos vernos obligados a usar inodoros en otros lugares cuando hemos sido buenos clientes durante muchos años? Actitud absolutamente espantosa! Esto no sucedería en Waitrose. El personal son payasos absolutos! El lugar necesita una advertencia de salud del gobierno.

Realmente tienes que tener suerte de no estar en la cola esperando una mesa. Está muy ocupado.

Second time I’ve visited. First time was busy so thought that might be the reason why being served takes a while and then the hot toastie again take another 10-15 minutes at times. Again visited when not so busy and found the same issue.
