Marks & Spencer in Aberdeen City

Food was stale and the customer service was poor. The rest of our visit to this branch was also unpleasant due to the abrupt and rude behaviour of the staff.

Food and staff were great but again having to eat from paper plates not great and it was a challenge eating soup with a small wooden spoon. Missed having a cuppa in a cup it’s not the same with a paper cup. Please get your dish washers sorted M and S - this has happened several times in the USQ branch and now St Nicholas due to dishwasher issues. Puts us off going.

First time for a good long time . We had coffee and toastoes it was ham and cheese. Served hot enough but no taste very bland for £6.00 what a rip off . Not long ago they were £4.50 m&s should examine there quality control to think that's a price increase of 33% inflation is under 7%. You don't deserve business and I won't be hurrying back

They should really serve cutley with the food they give you etc. Chicken soup didn't have the pastry as was expected though it was quite nice

Thank you Marks and Spencer for the self service check outs they are marvellous. All produce great along with staff. I will be shopping there more often due to the change of the check outs.

First time visit since covid. Coffe and bacon roll was really nice both for £4 great value but this offer is not promoted at all got a nice surprise at the till.

Popped into the cafe in Marks and Spencer's in Union Square for a pot of tea with friends. The lady serving was friendly and helpful. The cafe was clean and we had a nice afternoon. My friends enjoyed the fruit scones. We didn't have cakes but they looked lovely.

Stopped into the cafe in Union Square today fir a simple snack. Sourdough toasties, limp and so hot , they’d obviously been done in a microwave. The chips were also inedible for about 10 minutes till they cooled down, microwaved again. I think for the prices they charge for such items they could be made fresh, not too much to ask. The floor area around our table was disgusting, crisps , biscuits, fruit all over it. I asked twice for it to be swept up and both occasions were met with a vacant state as the waiting staff crunched there way over to us! We would have moved but there were no available tables. I made a vow never to return, even for a coffee. They didn’t seem short staffed with the “due to Covid” excuse and we’re all being reminded that hospitality needs us, well they need to up their game. I would have done this review straight to M&S but couldn’t find the area on their website.

It's do noisy, reminds of a factory! When throwing glass bottles in the recycling bin, the staff are probably playing basketball.! And, could you please advice Baristas to empty the portafilter on the plastic bar provided and NOT on the metal part of the tray?

We went to the Bridge of Don M&S cafe yesterday. I went to sit at a table with 2 bags of shopping while my husband went to order a snack. I was told, “in future, please don’t take a table until you have your food”! It wasn’t busy! We wanted bacon rolls but there wasn’t any bacon! My husband got me a pack of chicken sandwiches. He had a roll with sausages. The lettuce in the chicken sandwich burned my mouth, I removed the lettuce. We had coffee and neither of us could drink it, as again, it was so bitter that again, our mouths were affected. We just left! At this point in time, having a decent discussion about a complaint isn’t worth it as everyone now thinks “anything goes”!

Being a frequent visitor of M&S, I am used to the friendly nature of staff at Aberdeen Union Square branch. Interestingly, a member of staff named Runa is just too perfect at her work. She attends to my every query, give helpful hand in finding a specific item, explain every detail of the item I have confusion with, and so on... And of course her welcoming smiley face is a 10 on 10. Thanks M&S for the excellent service to customers. Cheers, M

While filling in time we had a cup of tea here. The tea was good as was the service. Restaurant kept in a spotless clean condition.

Marks and spencer need self service checkouts in Inverurie. Also the ceiling needs fixing. The staff are all fine. Produce very good. Pricing needs to be lower. Was told check outs were coming.

Had a stop here with my wife. We both had flat white coffee’s and a scone. The flat white coffee’s were excellent nice n hot/strong - the scone was tasty too. Efficient service by the staff who did a good job serving and keeping the tables clean.

Went in here after watching parade as had seen tv advert about cold drinks milkshakes etc. Staff were great the Victoria sponge was dry and I could not drink my strawberry & cream frap as the draw was too thin it couldn’t suck up biscuit topping they had no other so had to drink it with a spoon which was annoying. Why sell something u haven’t checked can be drunk. Staff pleasant but will not go back.

After watching a cookery programme on the telly, I really fancied a Thai, knowing the chances of getting a decent Thai takeaway was remote I decided to buy a Thai banquet from M&S. Simply superb £20 for 2 of us.

Had a lovely walk around and bought my friend her coffee, very nice shop, bit pricey for my liking but good quality goods.

Excellent service and great coffee. The best in Aberdeen. Staff are friendly and helpful. A wide range of hot and cold food.

Quite a tired and dirty place, not a pleasant place to eat good. Staff are quite resentful of customers.

Good choice of seating area with varied table sizes and cubicled ones for families.I prefer to sit at tables beside the big glass window where you've got a busy cityscape view to occupy you.Not a massive choice of sandwiches, cakes etc, but ample.M&S; is pricier than other cafes doing the same thing, but you take your pick & make your choices.A pot of Earl Grey tea & a little egg & cress sarnie for around a fiver isn't bad.However, I don't think I'll be having their Earl Grey cuppa again as the formula must've changed.After 5 minutes standing time it was still terribly weak and insipid.I must've poured it 3 times back into the tea-pot to get more colour, eventually mashing the tea-bag to get more flavour & colour.Perhaps it was a one-off, but it appeared to be a sparsely packed tea-bag.Will go for a coffee next time.

Marxies has been around for as long as I remember. They have a good range of clothing for all occasions, and the grocery section has some foods that are not found elsewhere. The prices are reasonable.

One always gets a good deal at the Marks and Spencer's Cafe and this one was no exception. Wholesome good quality food at the right price.

I love the cappuccino in Marks & Spencer and also their cheese scones - quite delicious! I tried a Costa cappuccino yesterday in Debenhams and was disappointed - From now on I will only ever visit M&S; for my coffee and scones.

Staff were approachable and happy to serve you. Food was served relatively quick and hot. Spicy lentil soup which is unusual but was filling. Scones with cream and ham were delicious.

We went to the M&S; cafe on a visit through from Inverness, it was myself and the kids, and we just wanted something for a quick breakfast. As we know what they serve in most M&S; cafes and the kids like it, it was an easy choice. I had ordered the usual bacon roll and the kids bits, and then as I was waiting for my coffee, which wasn’t as nice as Inverness quality, just made differently I suppose, I noticed they do a more extensive breakfast menu and serve a cooked breakfast! I think if I’d noticed that I would have had it to try and at just under £8 isn’t too bad in comparison to elsewhere. All in all, it was clean, quick and convenient, the staff were friendly enough too.

Friendly and clean up always. One of the best place for shopping in Aberdeen located in the city centre.

We go here quite a lot, food is really good and the cafe is kept clean. Very expensive, seem to keep ramping the prices up, 4.50 just for a toastie. Feel like they are charging high prices just because they can. Not a great place if on a budget

El personal en este café no están muy contentos de la gente, que realmente no tienen una sonrisa en sus caras cuando sirve, pero la comida que sirven es bastante bueno. Es un buen lugar para tomar un descanso mientras compras.

Paramos para tomar café con un amigo y me decepcionó. La tarta está lleno, así que estaban recién muchas opciones, incluso tarde en la tarde. Sin embargo, la tarta de limón llovizna era casi congelados como si sólo de congelador. Fue devuelto y sustituido con algo más. No se disculpa por miembro del personal. Me pareció que esta experiencia fue inusual para M&S;.

Very clean and welcoming. Very quiet when we were there but the service was very good and the staff very pleasant.

Had coffee and a hot cross bun here with family. The queue for ordering soon disappeared as there were 2 people operating the coffee machines, which is usually a hold up in most cafes and restaurants.The hot cross bun was very nice, if a little expensive.The staff were a little slow at clearing tables but the cafe was very busy.Would recommend a coffee and quick snack here.

Why is it that there is always problems with M & S Cafe's? I visit many of these and yet again M & S Union St was not a great experience, the service was not good, forgot some drinks, toasted Christmas sandwich burnt on the edges, contents looked very iffy, my brothers prepared in the back drink was in a cracked plastic mug leaking over the table. Most staff were not very conversant with my English accent, had to keep repeating myself and they were difficult to understand, mainly eastern European I think. Service & quality follows on from previous bad experiences in Manchester Arndale Centre and Lincoln High St. Not good.

Very handy shop that I keep going back to. Lots of bargains. Lots of choice. And lots and lots of quality. The Sparks card saves 20% off a variety of items, and very often you will get £5 off jeans or jumpers etc. Also handy to pick up from when you purchase on line. Amazing furniture upstairs. I love the book cases! I bought a nice case here a few weeks ago when they had 20% off accessories. If you are avoiding this shop because you think it might be expensive, then don't, their prices are very competitive.

I regularly visit the restaurant with my wife for tea and coffee which are competitively priced and the Belgian buns are good value for money.I have a gripe with the length of time it takes for staff to clear tables once customers have left them. This is an issue which could result in lost customers if it is not resolved. I accept it is a busy restaurant but the staff could be trained better and clear tables once they become empty. More staffing in the restaurant may be the answer.

I was doing some shopping in M&S and decided that I wanted a quick light lunch and thought I would give the café a try. The menu is not extensive but we chose the beef lasagne (£7.50) and the goats cheese salad (£5.95). The lasagne was a good sized portion, served with a small side salad and was very flavoursome with plenty of meat and sauce. Goats cheese salad again was a good sized bowl with plenty of sun dried tomatos. With a tea (£1.90) and a large Americano coffee (£2.40) I felt the the total bill of £17.75 was fair value for money for the quality of the food - service was excellent.

Nice scones and pleasant staff. The scones are the same ones sold in the bakery but more expensive. Can get very very busy so at peak times the staff are trying their best but can take a while to served. Tables are not always cleared due to busyness but in general it s well enough run and staff are friendly.

My wife and I stopped here for a coffee on a Friday morning and couldn't believe how busy it was. The coffee was really very good and the large cups were huge and great value. A really handy place for a great coffee.

My mum & I stopped in past the cafe in m&s today for a light lunch, the cafe has increased in size since my last visit, the staff were very friendly and efficient, great choice of light snacks on offer, definitely recommend this place

Unexpected evening meal due to missed bus.Situated on 1st floor, bright and spacious. Friendly, very helpful staff. Good range of snacks and hot food. Hot main courses supplied within about 5 mins. Excellent chicken and leek pie with gravy. Mashed potatoes were ? instant but acceptable. Good latte. Husband had v. good chicken curry with stick rice and a hot chocolate. Bill £18.00+ Not unreasonable. Serve until 7 pm. Open until 8 pm.
