Popped in here on Saturday, however again it was disappointing. Long queue, which was very slow to clear, only 1 person managing the coffee orders, so that added to the delay, no apologies given for the wait, just that Costa was shut, so that was making them busier. Scone was lovely and fresh, and coffees were hot. The seating area was very full, however we managed to get a table as someone left. No cleaning of the tables between customers, and many customers just leaving their empties on the table rather than taking them to the return area, which when we took ours it was overflowing with dirty dishes. Won't be rushing back here anytime soon.

I’ve gone here with my brother and dad for years. I always used to get a ginger bread man because they were sooo good. The cheese and ham toasties are A dream! The serving time varies but is never too long. It’s a really lovely place for lunch.

小売店に併設されているカフェです。スコーンを頂きましたが、お味は美味しかったです。ゆっくりするのには別のところの方が良い でしょう。

Waited in the que at the till for 15 minutes, ordered two bacon rolls, asked if there were any scones, the young man went to look in the kitchen, he came back with the scones but not before he was on his mobile phone, meanwhile the que was out into the shop, one girl was trying her best to keep up with making the coffe on her own, it was chaos, they then decided that the hot food would stop, the tables were all full of dirty dishes, the cutlery was dirty, the floor had food, paper butter wrappers all sorts on it. Astounded at this M&S should be ashamed leaving teenager in charge, who were clearly struggling. Won’t be back left with a headache.

Unfortunately a lot of inconsiderate parents treat this cafe as a crèche. It won't be long before some poor customer or child gets scolded by hot drinks by an unruly child running into someone carrying their tray.

We popped in today and ordered two coffees, baked potato and a chicken burger. Sat down at the only free table that was half decent but we still had to clean it ourselves. The table next to us had 2-3 trays on it with dirty plates, cups and cutlery. My baked potato arrived, it was tough, chewy and had been microwaved. We waited for the second meal but it never arrived. So we went to the till and complained. The floor was littered with food, only one member of staff cleaning and serving. It was a disgusting mess. Sorry M&S but we will not be back.

Dropped in today & was delighted that freshly baked cheese scones were on offer. Absolutely delicious too. Boys at the till & coffee station were chatty & nice. Managed to get a table but the floor around our table & others was badly in need of cleaning. Staff clearing tables were lethargic to say the least & could have been doing more to keep the place clean & today. Sad reflection on the manager of this cafe.

We had coffee and cakes and the quality was very good. Only slight complain was that the people serving were having a conversation whilst I was waiting to be served which made me feel a bit awkward.

Tucked away upstairs at this is a nice wee cafe to retreat to after a hard shop mid morning with a superb Latte ans fruit scone just out of the oven sit back and enjoy . The one thing about Marks Cafes you can rely on their consistency and quality no matter where and the Coffees are every bit as good if not better than the big brands!

Great Marks and Spenser shop at Craigleith Retail park .The cafe is situated on the top floor in the right hand corner. The one thing that M&S means to me is quality and that extends to their cafes . The perfect fruit scones straight out of the oven are superb as are their Lattes....a perfect stop after a frenetic mornings shopping

Was recommended here as I am celiac and they have a gf menu. As we were unsure what time we would be going (prior commitment before hand) I did not book. We arrived at 2.45pm and there was a sign outside saying 'bookings only, no walk ins' This was NOT on their website. We went in and spoke to a female member of staff who advised exactly what the sign had said. I then spoke to a male member of staff and asked where on their website it stated what the sign said, he said it didn't. Advised that due to rugby being on, they were unusually busy. The restaurant is large and they were not full to capacity. Asked if there was anyway we could have a table for 2 for an hour, point blank told no. We won't be returning.

We approached the café at 9am with laundry and were greeted by four Scottish Terriers who were apparently running the place, until Graham arrived up the stairs to ask what the heck we wanted...and we knew immediately we were in the right place! I've read some of the reviews, and if you don't understand Graham in the first 5 seconds of him opening his mouth, you don't deserve to be there...and I am pretty sure Graham will know/sense it himself. I think he relishes poor reviews. But we felt immediately at home, and once we passed the "test", Graham was the perfect host. I had to put up with insults on my lack of fashion sense and some uncomfortable history lessons regarding the villainy of George Washington, but my wife and I would not trade our experience for anything! Graham practically did our laundry for us, made us coffee, and even gave me a lovely (empty) can of haggis. Thank you for the experience Graham! I hope you enjoy the US Dollar Bill (with Washington on it)...and I won't forget that American history is really Scottish history!

Booked in the restaurant for our 20th Wedding Anniversary. We weren’t staying at the hotel but did add that we were celebrating upon booking. We arrived early expecting to have a drink at the bar but the table was ready for us. We received a complimentary glass of champagne each on arrival. The staff were fantastic and couldn’t have done more. They even sorted us out with a special dessert to help celebrate the occasion. The food was to a high standard and the portion size was perfect. Altogether a fantastic meal and exemplary service.
