Marks and Spencer in Wellingborough

Standards have steadily gone down over the last few weeks. No toast available on one occasion despite bread on shelves in store! Dishwasher often broken resulting in paper cups - my pet hate. Today - a new Head Office initiative! No plates, proper cutlery, teapots, milk jugs etc. We had to eat toast off a piece of waxed paper and had a stewed mug of tea with unidentified milk from an urn. Unbelievable !! This is not just breakfast- it's the new M&S breakfast! So much for progress. Not the standard we expext from Marks and Spencer at all. We have been going on a Sunday morning for years and have made friends there. None of us will be going again. So disappointed. What is Head Office thinking?? Even the staff are disillusioned and leaving

Store itself is great, no complaints. The car park at Castlefields Retail Park is however really poor. On 16 3 2024, it took me 40 minutes from first sitting in my car, to leaving the car park at the London Rd traffic lights. 40 minutes - I timed it on a stopwatch. This isn't Marks and Sparks' fault, but in order to shop there I have to use that car park, so it's part of the M and S shopping experience. The traffic lights onto London Road need to be reviewed, to allow more time. When in the car park queue, most of the time they're on red, there's a quick moment of green, then red again - nowhere near adequate given the number of cars trying to leave the car park. M and S is great but the car park isn't working...

Rude customer service in Wellingborough store. Disappointing. Made me feel very bad after I left... Why don't you make customers feel welcome?

Mixed experiences in the past. However today eggs Benedict was lovely. Perfect poached eggs and decent hollandaise sauce. Nicely garnished. Flat white and cappuccino were very nice. Perhaps not quite as hot as they could have been. Service was polite and prompt. Easy to park.

Having read previous reviews it obviously has not improved. The staff do not clean the tables or take away used items. They stood behind the counter and didn’t look after the cleanliness of the seated area. The food is pre-packed so there is no food preparation to make. Sort yourself out!!!

Try to have coffee and cake here most weekends. Always comfortable, always a pleasure! Look forward to resuming when lock down over and safe to do so.

This coffee shop is not what you would expect from M&S, The tables are always dirty, there is food on the floors and the seats are falling apart. The staff have a "couldn't care less attitude" about the fact that there is never anything to offer customers. It's take it or leave it. One member of staff will offer to get things like scones from the bakery but another will just say that there is nothing left. Can't see how this shop is going to remain in Wellingborough unless something is done. I have complained to M&S on more than one occasion about the state of the coffee shop but nothing ever changes.

toasted sandwich wasnt what you would expect a toasted one to be it was soggy in the middle and soft cold bread absolutely disgusting and a cup of tea total £6 - 45 complete waste of money will never return

It's just a cafe nothing more nothing less, usual cake selection nothing is actually cooked on the premises but just heated up. Staff friendly but there are better places to go to with a better selection of snacks.

A quiet café but cosy with very helpful staff. Everything freshly made and nicely prepared. Sorry the new Rushden Lakes complex appears at the moment to have reduced the customer base. Hopefully will return. Wellingborough needs you there

OK so it is M & S - with friendly staff at the front of an M & S food hall - so you get what you would expect at a price you would expect as you build up your strength before or after shopping for food

I have eaten here several times and it is standard M&S fare, but the staff are particularly friendly and helpful here. A good place to grab a coffee and toastie and I can recommend it!

I hadn't visited Marks and Spencer Cafe in Wellingborough for some. My daughter and I went for lunch there yesterday. We were very disappointed to see they were only now offering soup, toasted sandwiches or cakes. We opted for two toasted sandwiches, a small latte, and a smoothie. It was hard to distinguish what the filling in the sandwiches was, it was so tasteless and not even a bit of salad to go with them. The latte was so weak, it tasted as if milk and water had been added to the dregs of a coffee cup. The smoothie was fine. We paid £14:30. I was shocked and will not be making a return visit.

Good Carrot cake, latte, and lovely staff. I always stop by whenever I grocery shop at M&S. Tried all cakes, not disappointed so far. Savoury options available are also tasty. Good for brunch or lunch or if you just fancy nibbles.

This particular M&S coffee shop's staff are really excellent. Very helpful, quick to serve and very likeable. I like dropping in here when I want a drink whilst shopping if I have the time, as I usually have a toastie, my fave dish here, or some kind of cake. I've never had less than good service or less than good food.

Stopped off for a break from shopping. Had a lovely toasted sandwich with side salad and a pot of tea. Staff welcoming and friendly, i was served promptly and did not struggle to find somwhere to sit. Finished off with a slice of lemon drizzle cake, heavenly ! No complaints great place to stop for lunch.

It's ideal as its local - it's a little small - sometimes it's low on stock and is a disappointment because of this - however very friendly staff and manager

Lovely little cafe in the M&S Simply food store. Good service and lovely fresh food. Clean environment.

Free WiFi Seating area Plenty of off road parking Food choice for a supermarket is limited: Sandwiches which can be heated up Jacket potatoes plus fillings or alternatively soup of the day... that's pretty much it. Prices are above average. Staff are as always very friendly. Just need more choice and reason to eat in store rather than go and buy and make it at home.

Efficient, friendly service, clean in-store cafe. Toilets are located to the rear of the store and you are able to use the Cafe's free WiFi.

Excellent coffee and cakes have not had cooked food but always looks good, service can be a little slow

Small cafe situated in the M&S; Simply Food store, offering teas, coffees etc. plus food, mainly toasties, sandwiches and cakes, with the occasional larger meal. Usual M&S; standards, so clean and with pleasant helpful staff.

Tucked away in a small Simply Food in Wellingborough this scrupulously clean M&S; cafe serves exceptional coffee, cakes and food. Lovely seasonal variations also on offer and good gluten free selection. Strongly recommend!

We regularly call in for coffee and often a piece of cake. Staff are M&S; standard and we would not go back if we did not like it

As to be expected from M&S;, very nice food served by friendly and attentive staff. The baby change in the toilets was immaculate. My wife and I ordered toasted sandwiches and cake. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a quite bite to eat.

The cafe is clean and welcoming with all the things you would explect of M&S.; The staff are pleasant and helpful.and the prices not too expensive.

Not that you would expect any less, this M&S; Cafe is of a good standard, good food, fair pricing and always clean. A good place for a meal or just a quick coffee.

My husband and I have a breakfast here, every Saturday. The staff are great and the food is always of a good standard. Loyalty card gives you a free hot drink after buying 9.

Disappointing that this Marks & Spencer mainly sells food. Would be nice if it was a larger shop. Good to pick up items ordered on the internet without incurring a delivery charge.

Smiling welcoming staff, which is a good start, and the best smoked bacon roll, and coffee we have had in ages.....give it a try.

Quality food and drinks as you would expect in m&s.; I highly recommend the luxury hot chocolate. I often call in just for this as a treat to myself! The store itself is good we are lucky to have m& s in Wellingborough.
