Had one of the best meals ever on 28th February. Food was excellent- full of flavour - piping hot and quality produce. The wine was beautiful. As for the staff they couldn’t do any more for us. Wonderful experience. I’d say excellent value.

If you want a relaxing, flavoursome Italian meal in a setting that is quietly refined in a very English way - head to Margot. In general, an Italian restaurant is a good dining choice, but Margot blew us away. The interior is quite darkly lit but the food choices would put most things in the shade! The food is well presented and beautifully cooked. The waiting staff are very knowledgeable and seemed to really want us to enjoy our lunch. The theatre of the presentation of each of the puddings was matched by the taste. Truly a feast for the eyes as well as the mouth. The large restaurant manages a friendly, intimate ambience with lovely little touches, like the eponymous Margot's daschund dog on the door handles, leather menu covers and even the tableware.

The waitress who served us wasn’t very nice and ruined our experience as a family at the restaurant. I was also disappointed with the food, didn’t find it good value for money.

Again a wonderful restaurant, atmosphere and food. We came here between showings for the theatre and the dining experience was amazing and the cost was reasonable for the level of service and food we had. Staff were friendly and attentive as always.

Estábamos en la habitación de abajo tan aislados de otros comensales El servicio fue excelente y gestionaron muy bien la logística Tuvimos un menú restringido, pre-elegido, por lo que esta opinión no puede comentar el menú a la carta Había una selección de burrata y calabaza, carpaccio de lubina y sarro de ternera para empezar. Tuve la lubina que es bueno y las otras opciones fueron bien comentados Los principales incluían pato a l'orange, risotto de remolacha o filete de salmón. El pato estaba excelente, cocinado bien, algo que muchos restaurantes malinterpretan cuando sirven a una gran multitud. Una vez más, las otras redes fueron bien recibidas. We went there for my mum's birthday in july. The service was fantastic, the staff gave my mum a birthday card which she really appreciated. The food was stunning, I had a lot more of the focaccia than I'd be proud to admit to, but absolutely worth it. Although one thing I will say is the wheelchair ramp could be a bit more stable as my mum struggled with it, but I will definitely be return.

At this moment, returning to Margot would take a divine act. I was looking forward to a nice evening out at a posh Italian restaurant following a theater show. What I instead encountered was a series of hygiene blunders so bad you’d think it was an episode of Gordon Ramsays kitchen nightmares. The check in hostess was kind, the general manager Hicham Chegra was understanding and cordial but there’s simply no way past kitchen employees not washing their hands before leaving the restroom and the bartender coughing into his hands while assembling cocktails going to guests. 1 star for the curated atmosphere, 1 star for the pasta dish, the other 3 went into the waste bin without effort. With managerial led correction, Margot can flourish, but I will not be a patron.

Had the pre theatre fixed menu. Great food and good value. Service was excellent. Would love to come back again for a proper meal.

they should probably note in the menu that fish with grape sauce actually means they dump cream on it.

The food was average. I’m not sure what the hype is but the burrata didn’t feel fresh and the pasta was average. The veal Milanese didn’t taste too nice either. For the price and quality of food and service, I would rate it a 3.9/4 not a 4.6.

We had the most stressful and awful day in London, but the Margot staff made our anniversary day a little bit brighter! The staff was very friendly, attentive and the food was amazing. We highly recommend the cured salmon for starters and crab ravioli for main. They made us feel special during the dinner and even after by surprising us with a hand written letter congratulating on our anniversary. Thank you Margot team!

Had a really great time there! Everythingvwas yummy but the foccacia and beef carpaccio were a highlight.

It’s actually beyond my expectations. We thought we won’t be able to feel filling after fine dining but I was wrong. We ordered two course set each. Highly recommend stuffed squid as starter and seafood risotto as main. Staff are very friendly. They took the wrong order but gave us the wrong dish for free which is acceptable. Cord is a bit tasteless but very fresh.

This is such a ridiculous restaurant. They used so many photos of dachshunds on the dining tables, and even their logo is a dachshund. Yet, they don't allow dogs inside? That's so misleading! I visited the restaurant because I saw their Instagram page and brought my dachshund, but they weren’t welcoming at all. So we sat outside, and no one checked if the food was good or if we were satisfied. It’s cold outside, and the food got cold quickly. I understand it’s an open kitchen, so no pets are allowed, but could you mention on social media that it’s not a pet-friendly restaurant or stop posting pictures of dogs on the tables? You market a dog-loving image, but in reality, you don’t seem to care about dogs. Also, the server’s response seemed polite, but she was passive-aggressive. She said that dogs aren’t allowed in any restaurants in the UK. I told her I’ve brought my dog to many restaurants and even listed a few, but she said she hadn’t heard of them, claiming they’re not well-known. She’s been a server for so many years and still hasn’t heard that some restaurants allow dogs. Maybe she needs more years of experience to learn.

Business lunch for VIP customer stakeholders near their offices, this was their choice (apparently through a google search of nice places near by). Food fantastic excepting one starter which was not to our guest’s taste, crab ravioli, salmon and scallop dishes all phenomenal, house wine very good. Service excellent - attentive without being annoying. Good atmosphere (packed without being too loud) for a Thursday lunchtime in a relatively quiet London (sunny day). Small error on starters was rectified with everyone being reserved together although we’d have eaten what they had mistakenly brought, I hope the first lot didn’t go in the bin!! Thanks team Margot!

1) ordered sparkling water that the waitress split all over the table 2) cheese board came with stale and cold focaccia(that they shouldn’t even call it that) 3) ravioli’s filling were crabs that are not fresh. Very unsatisfactory sauce too 4) ossobuco is very mediocre with over salty rissoto and bad sauce Didn’t appreciate asking multiple times for my balsamic vinegar that the waitress seemed to have forgotten. Had better in a random Italian stand in Italy.

I recently dined at Margot and had a wonderful experience. The space was cozy and inviting, perfect for a special occasion. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and attentive. I had mentioned when making the reservation that it was a special occasion, and they went above and beyond to make it memorable. We were pleasantly surprised to receive a beautiful card as a thoughtful gesture. The food was good and the attention to detail made the evening truly special. We left feeling grateful and impressed.

Why have I never been here before??? In some respects this Covent Garden institution is a mish mash of contrasts. Classy yet unpretentious. Simple menu yet such complexity of flavour. And a concise yet impeccable wine list. Big shout out to Anastasia too. She was our hostess dare I say our headmistress. Kept us punctual informed and heading utterly in the right direction. This place has it all. Service, ambiance, style and most importantly delicious food. And pretty much the best San Danielle ham I’ve had outside of Milano. A must try!! It’s not cheap but worth every penny. I was so impressed I booked a work dinner for 10 as I was leaving.

We had a delightful evening meal at Margot in Covent Garden. I'm glad I'd booked in advance, as it was bustling on a Thursday evening. We shared the focaccia which was absolutely delicious and probably the best I've eaten. I would highly recommend trying it. I had scallops to start, and the crab ravioli for main. My husband had the parmigiana to start, and wild boar ragu for main. Everything was tasty and well presented. We were so full we couldn't manage dessert! The staff were very friendly, but the service was a bit slow - so have knocked a star off. Overall, a great restaurant.

Seafood dishes are too salty for me (esp scallops) but rest are not bad. Mille-feuille is really nice. I feel like waiter/waitress are a bit understaffed as we couldn’t get hold of them often but they are nice people and can deliver results when needed. Overall good experience.

I went there with work colleagues. Service was a bit slow but the food was very tasty. I had the chicken breast which had an interesting foam on top - it looked interesting. We didn’t have time for dessert but I’m sure we’ll be back.

Amazing dinner, perfect service, creamy focaccia that melted in our mouth.

After a tiring afternoon of shopping, we walked in and were lucky enough to get a table. The service is second to none. Attentive and timely; you won’t get rushed out of the door! We walked in at 5.30pm and walked out at 7.45pm, yet only ordered two courses each. The food was delicious especially the chicken with peas and gravy and the side dish of broccoli and almonds!! The dessert menu was more basic than I remembered from two years ago, but the hazelnut mousse and mille feuille were both mouthwatering. It was a thoroughly enjoyable finish to our day out and I’d love to come back soon.

Excellent quality food and very attentive service.

First appearance was good with a warm welcome and courteous staff . Then we moved to the food My panna cotta caprino was a bit rubbery with no flavour. Main course a sea bass filet with mussels in a broth was a major disappointment COLD the mussels were dry and the ‘ Broth’ was more like cold water I couldn’t eat it so send it back. I am not sure if I go back to Margot !!

This is a fine dinning Restaraunt and as you will expect, the food and service is excellent. They serve focassia bread as complementary along with Olive oil. So no need of ordering bread separately. Nice wines - so do have one if you are here. Enough options for vegetarians.

Dined here recently on a trip to London to view several exhibits. The last one we saw was at Someset House and a quick google search of the best restaurants in Covent Garden led me to make a booking at Margot. I'm so glad it did as we had a lovely dinner. The service was excellent, attentive and helpful without being obtrusive. I had the filet with red wine au jus and the meat a wonderful char and the au jus was perfect. My husband had the scallops and boar ragu, both of which he rated highly. The pasta was fresh and the ragu was rich and savory. We didn't have room for dessert but we will try them the next time. Definitely will return and would recommend.

I came here for my birthday and enjoyed a wonderful meal. Stunning food and really welcoming and lovely staff. My boyfriend's pasta was a little disappointing but they went above and beyond to rectify this issue so we really can't complain! My Ossobuco was faultless. They also gave us a complimentary dessert for my birthday. We wouldn't hesitate to return. Thank you to everyone at Margot at dinner time on 03/02/2024 for such a lovely time and for being so accommodating.

Disappointed at the food, not fresh, too salty. Everyone seems busy, so no one filled our water until called to do so. Atmosphere is the only qualified part, you could take some photos and pretend you are having some good foods, but your tougue definitely said no.

A fantastic Restaurent with top quality service, good wine options and understanding clients wants for food too. Great environment and shall return for a 3rd trip sometime soon.

Really delicious Italian, open early enough for a light meal before the opera. The lobster ravioli with saffron sauce is a revelation. Great wines as well, just ask for a recommendation. Eaten here multiple times… the food is consistently good, although the restaurant is consistently loud for my tastes unless you’re there early. A great choice in Covent Garden.

Came here for a pre-theatre dinner. The decor and ambience is great and the food was lovely. Some of the best focaccia I’ve ever had too. Our waiter Arthur was excellent - really attentive and knew the menu well. Would 100% come back and recommend. Would recommend trying the beef carpaccio.

Our first experience for us. We wanted to try somewhere different for a pre-theatre meal. For us the service was virtually impeccable. We so appreciated not having to wait for our wine and water to be served although we were near the reception area. The food we enjoyed very much and we were impressed by the wine list - great choices.

We went for a 50th birthday and everyone loved it. I had the wild boar ragu with fresh papadelli as my main, and it was fantastic. The star of the show was my desert. I had the Coconut mousse with banana and passionfruit puree and it's definitely one of the best puddings I've ever had. I'll go back to sit at the bar and have a few of those next time I'm in the west end.

It has been three years since we last time visit Margot. It was back in 2020 just after the first covid wave and we liked the food a lot. We decide to celebrate new year here again and are glad to be back here. The quality of the food remains the high level. The service is excellent and they are super nice to the baby. The pasta is just delicious and the side vegies are so good. The seafood risotto is slightly salty though. The beef cappacio is good as last time except they removed truffle. The veal slice appetiser is really tender and the sauce is amazing. It is definitely my top Italian restaurant in London.

Was here for a business event (basement space). The restaurant is traditional in its focus with a good wine list and tasty food. Its staff and service are excellent and a good place to take a date (or partner). The atmosphere is intimate and food not too heavy.

Beautiful dining experience overall! Exceptional service from start to finish. Special thanks go to Anastasia who looked after us impeccably the whole night, making our experience a memorable one. The food is really nice- gorgeous starters which I highly recommend and the spaghetti lobster with a touch of chilli oil-was sooo delicious. Gluten free spaghetti, bread sticks & bread were the bonus of the evening and very much appreciated. A great selection of wines, tasty cocktails and delicious desserts to finish a great night in style.

It was my first visit to Margot and absolutely loved it. Service was exceptional, they couldn’t have done any more. Food was very good, my friend’s ravioli was slightly undercooked but full of flavours nonetheless, and my halibut was delicious. Desserts were amazing. We will definitely come back soon.

Exceptional food and an excellent menu which I would have happily ordered almost everything from. The scallops to start were beautiful - cooked to perfection. For mains I really enjoyed the halibut though expected more vegetables to come with it. Side of potatoes made up for it - enormous portion! Tiramisu to finish had me leaving with a smile on my face. It’s an elegant, contemporary dining room and the service is professional. All of this comes with q high price tag, but it’s an upmarket place that pitches at this level. Set course menu (with 3 good choices for each course which is rare) was good value.

What a pretentious over priced pasta joint. I am a vegan. Yes ok get over it. But never have I been made to feel so awkward for asking for a vegan dish. Not one dish is vegan. I wasn’t expecting a seperate menu but at least an option. It’s a pasta joint- surely you have something thing without cheese or meat. The waitress was snooty and dismissive and offered me dried gluten free pasta and some carrots. Literally this place is all that is wrong with central London eateries. So many better Italian places in town for both non vegans and vegans!

A solid 4 stars for Margot. Celebrated our anniversary here and we had a great spot at the restaurant. We were tempted by more food looking at menu but our brilliant waitress advised us that we had ordered enough….and it was just perfect. Food overall was great and I recommend the pistachio dessert. Genuinely sublime. Star knocked off for not having soap in the toilet replenished.

It's very pretty, the service is exceptional, the food is very good, and it's pretty expensive. We were a party of 8 saying a fond farewell to a great boss, who is heading back to his native Paris. You start with amazing focaccia and top class olive oil; we were very hungry, ordered more, and they obliged. We had a range of starters including scallops, and beef carpaccio, all very good. Main courses were fillet of beef, ossabuco, schnitzel. Not sure anyone had pasta so can't report on its quality. Food was very good, wine delicious, but obviously the decor, the quality, and great drinks cost a bit. Mind you we did tuck into the wine...

10/10 Wonderful experience. Welcoming, warm service. Food was delicious - the chicken, courgetti, aubergine parmigiana and duck ragu were all absolutely excellent. My wife and I had a delightful dinner here before attending the theater. The service was wonderful and the food came out quickly, hot, and delicious. I had the TAGLIATELLE CON RAGÚ D’ANTARA which was a hearty dish while my wife enjoyed the RAVIOLI AL GRANCHIO E ZAFFERANO which was very ample and tasty. Their wine list was extensive and very fairly priced. Our two entrees with a carafe of wine came to $150.30 including gratuity.

Charged an extra fee to serve the food which is always included in over all bill. Wont be back.

The whole restaurant gives an air of swank: Italian ceramic floor tiles, warm amber glow, shiny fixtures and green leather booths filled with what looked like local bankers in their Eton shirts & Tom Ford Black parfums. Despite the plush, the three of us just craved for one thing: as Keanu Reeves says in the Matrix….we need pasta…..lots of pasta! (modified) I had a delicious Tagliatelle with duck ragu and the wife went for fluffy Crab ravioli with a smokey and vibrant mascarpone sauce, and my nephew went for penne with seasonal mushrooms (odd choice as I could make this at home). All 3 pastas were delicious…. Ofcourse one cant have pasta in an Italian restaurant without a glass of red. Along comes the sommelier extraordinare, Dylan Maiorano, with his well fitted dark gray suit and hair that looked like he just woke up…..he gave me an encyclopaedia of a wine list and then proceeded to take me on a tour of Italy expertly detailing the terroirs from the Valtellina of Lombardia to the Cabernet francs of Vento until I politely interrupted him to order a Chianti Riserva…..he took it better than French sommeliers would when they recommend you Burgundy Grand Cru and you order a Beaujolais. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed Margot even if the prices for pastas averaged GBP 30 and bankers next table grew louder as the night progressed…..
