Marco's New York Italian Milton Keynes in Milton Keynes

So after going every year to Marco Pierre whites at MK stadium which sadly closed we thought we would try this one. Well what can I say, really didn't live upto expectations. Before I go into details I will say the staff was fine and quick to serve although that does also make you feel rushed to get you out too but overall service was fine. (However be careful as you will be offered many things not told a price and then charged. Including water 😂 £5 for water ) However the food is another story. We had the bread for starter(can't spell ferrachia) which was very dry but ok and I imagine many people would have been ok with it. Onto the mains which is the part we was really interested in having starved ourselves all day awaiting this meal. My partner ordered the surf and turf while I went for the new York strip and even went 16oz, thinking this would be the speciality choice as it's a new York restaurant. Asked if would like normal fries or sweet potato, I had normal Mrs had sweet potato (extra £5 unaware) then asked what sauces we would like. She had peppercorn I had stilton (again charged for these at £4 per sauce 😂) We waited around 30min for the food which we didn't mind. With my huge 16oz new York strip due to arrive I was planning how embarrassing it's going to be with my huge plate and strip on. However when food did arrive that wasn't what arrived. Instead it was 2 small strips instead. Food was quite tasty. I would say don't go for the sauces as not much flavour and very oily but without sauce meal would have been so dry. £40 we paid for the 16oz strips , got 2small steaks and a few chips oh and 4 cherry tomatoes 😂 Our meal came to £116 for list below Strawberry lemonade Pepsi Bread starter Surf and turf 16oz steak Peppercorn sauce Stilton sauce Sweet potato fries Water We felt very cheated and lucky we had a voucher to use otherwise I don't think I'd have paid full price as just wasn't worth it. The MK stadium one wasn't cheap but we didn't feel cheated. It had a better menu and just felt so much more value for the money when served. Our yearly visit to Marco Pierre white is now finished after about 7 years. If this is what Marco Pierre sees as good then it's no surprise his restaurants are closing. Left feeling cheated and would not return

Overpriced and average. Gluten free menu poor and overall menu predictable, needs to move with the times!! Kids pasta undercooked and lack of seasoning in all dishes.

We held a very productive meeting at Holiday Inn Milton Keynes, with overnight accommodation - the rooms were were newly refurbished and spotlessly clean . Meeting room was well appointed with a fantastic 60inch screen , super conference lunch was enjoyed by all. We finished our day with an amazing meal in Marcos, where the food and service was excellent in this vibrant and buzzing restaurant within the hotel. The team were all great and special mention to Nuala and Bow.

Had a dinner reservation Thursday evening, quiet atmosphere. Food was enjoyable but what we loved the most was the service from Bow. She was friendly, helpful and attentive. First-class service which made our experience very memorable. I cannot remember a time where service received was this level!! Thank you Bow :)

We visited the restaurant earlier in the month to take advantage of their amazing January discount. The eatery is located just inside the holiday inn hotel, and it was pretty easy to park and find our way inside. We actually wanted to visit the MPW Stake-house that was located at the stadium - however this closed just before Christmas i believe… so this was the next best thing. The restaurant had a lovely ambience & and business was steady. The staff were delightful and welcoming and were very knowledgeable about the menu and the ingredients. The food was absolutely fantastic too, which is what I had already expected - bearing the MpW name. In particular Mandy who was our server - although all the girls we saw were lovely. Mandy was an incredible asset to the team and made the visit in our opinion. We really hope to be back soon and special thanks must go out to Mandy, Nula and Lala

We’re staying at the hotel, which was very good! However, our festive meal was booked in this restaurant. Three courses for the best part of £40.00 Starter….was ok, basically toast with tomatoes on it! The main course - steak…..with about 8 (frozen chips), two cherry tomatoes. The steak was tiny and should have been medium rare……it was like boot leather and had no taste whatsoever. It was in a word …..pathetic. Then the peppercorn sauce, we had to remind our servers that the steak came with this…did not turn up for ten minutes after the meal was served. Desert…..Three scoops of sorbet and ice cream…..you can’t really get this wrong! Luckily, this was a work event and not paid for by me….however, this reflects badly on Marco Pierre White and can say easily the worst steak I’ve ever had……rubbish

Not great. Overpriced and badly organised. 2 waitresses assigned to our table and both kept coming over to take our order. Became a joke in the end as we finished our dessert the other came over to say it was on the way. Food was poor and overpriced. Cheesecake was tasteless. Didn’t get everything we ordered either as the food arrived in the wrong order so we cancelled the bread & oils. Not a great location attached to the Holiday Inn. Experience was poor. Marco Pierre who? Not sure had a lot to do with things. Harvester food at top prices.

Terrible. Purchased vouchers. Store closed - emailed central office 4 times , no response no phone number. Now if I want to use my voucher need to travel 2 hrs

The menu was quite limited in vegetarian options, which was a letdown. I tried the chicken burger, but it was disappointingly dry, while the beef burgers, although decent in taste, were surprisingly smaller than expected compared to the other dishes. The calzone was the highlight, as it was flavourful and satisfying, though it was peculiar that it didn’t come with a side salad to balance the meal. Overall, the experience left much to be desired.

Sea trout portion for 18£ very small, no side comes with it - disappointed about value vs worth. In addition ,I waited for 40+ minutes to get this order out.

The service from Bow the waitress was 1st class but the food is very over priced for the quality. I had a veg lasagne with no veg just full of pasta and cheese, rest of the meal average. Better quality food elsewhere for cheaper but service 5 star

VERY POOR. Food took ages, and it wasn’t busy - 3 other tables of around 5 people present. Order was also wrong after waiting 45 minutes for it to arrive at the table. One meal was also cold on arrival at table. Servers generally not attentive to table either.

Lala is fantastic and friendly host. very entertaining and accommodating, she’s informative and knowledgeable with the menu and knows what to recommend. The food was excellent and to top it up with Primitivo wine is a must. Overall, excellent experience. Thanks Lala!

Overall it was a great experience! Kara was especially helpful going over and beyond for my wife and kids. All the staff were hardworking and helped make a great dinner experience.

Had a good experience. Angela was fantastic serving us very promptly and was very friendly. Food was good, not the best though. I was expecting the best burger in my life but that wasn’t the case due to the franchise’s menu selections rather than the kitchen’s.

Great restaurant concept not the best execution being embodied within the Holiday Inn. Sufficient menu choices however feels like it lacks the certain flair usually sewn within a Marco Pierre White’s restaurant. Overall nice restaurant and great staff all are very friendly. Met with our family for a Mother’s Day lunch. My son has an allergy and they went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and safe. Felt very welcome with our children and my mum and I were offered a free cocktail which was a lovely touch! Everything was delicious and the staff were attentive and friendly! Went here with my partner for late valentine's day dinner. Sadly I cannot remember the names of the ladies who served us , but their customer service skills were exceptional, so welcoming and lovely and always were there if we had any questions. The food was amazing , came quickly and we have no complains whatsoever. Definitely will be back!

Exceptional service from all staff, professional and friendly. Delightful food, definitely try the steak and macaroni cheese! Oh not forgetting the tiramisu!

My partner took me here for a birthday treat, firstly there was no one on the desk even though we had booked. We had to walk through the holiday inn to find someone. We were seated in an area that I can only describe as being used for holiday inn clients, there was no ambience here and totally quiet it didn’t feel relaxing. The steak my partner ordered wasn’t great, he had a lot better in a local village pub for half the price. The waitress kept coming back to check what we had ordered as seemed confused. Overall we were not impressed and expected more for the money and was disappointing as it was my birthday. Will not return.

I think Marco Pierre White should take back his name before the Holidays Inn completely ruins his reputation. Several people complaining how "small" the pieces of meat were at high costs. Others like ourselves waited for 1 hr before getting our food. I asked for a Belini and NOONE could make it! Why ever Trip advisor managed to give 4.5 unless it's based on burgers or pasta cannot believe it. With So many people in ONE NIGHT Complaining about the food and wait times 4.5 goes to restaurants you're happy with! If you just like fast food like burgers it's probably OK. Anything else no. Evan a glass of Prosecco took 35 minutes to arrive. My £28 (6oz)fillet steak was BURNT to a crisp the only taste was charcoal. Arrived with 2 small tomatoes and a "sauce" like a tablespoon of congealed cheese sauce 3.50. The Tiramisu nothing more than 2 tablespoons of "clotted" something with a "hint" of flavour. Awful Avoid at all cost.

Went for a meal at MP New York Italian today and was extremely disappointed. The staff were rushed off their feet and constantly apologetic we waited 30 minutes to be served for drinks and at least an hour for food. 1 family left whilst waiting for food and it’s wasn’t that busy! Then we were told the bar is busy so apologises again for food but it seems same kitchen serves the hotel above and this restaurant. Wrong food was delivered, no mince in the lasagne and mayo brought out for chips after they had been finished. Not the best value for money

The place is a total mess!! Just one lady serving and waiting for the food, more than 40 minutes!! A couple just left, because they waited for about 30 minutes for someone to serve them and no one took their order… Plus, we paid £8 for a 2hr parking !!:)) Completely ridiculous!! Do not come here!!

Myself and my partner came here tonight for a belated anniversary dinner, and the service was impeccable, it was 2 ladies waitressing and I didn’t catch their names but they were both so lovely and helpful, food arrived quickly and tasty food sized portions. Totally unexpectedly one of the lovely ladies brought out a cheesecake with happy anniversary written in fruit sauce, so generous of them and such a nice end to the night 🥰 it was nice and chilled atmosphere too (Thursday evening). Would deffo recommend!

Had a fabulous evening. Lala was our host went above and beyond to make sure we are looked after, after a long journey. She spent just the right amount of time conversing to us and checked in on us to confirm we were enjoying our food and if we needed anything else. Thank you for your warm hospitality.

Absolutly dire.. does this pla a actually employ a trained chef? MPW you should be ashamed of having your name associated with what is served. Even the very nice lady who waited on us said its pointless telling the kitchen as they don't listen... Would suggest people stick to tge Steakhouse at Stadium MK...a brilliant establishment

Went out for dinner with a friend and I can not praise Bow enough! From start to finish, she was absolutely amazing. We had our drinks brought to us by Kevin and Peach. All 3 of them are an asset to the restaurant with brilliant service 🤗 Also compliments to the chefs for the amazing food! Will definitely back, so thank you to them 😊

Overall the food was very good (although they did forget the chicken in a chicken pasta dish) but the mojito and peach & lime gimlet were some of the best cocktails we’d ever had. The standout of the night, however, was the waitress Bow, as she continually went above and beyond to essentially single handedly get the orders out for the entire night while we were there - all while providing excellent customer service.

Thought I would take the wife here for her birthday treat. But not sure if they have had a large take on of new staff, but the service seemed to be very hit and miss. From wrong food delivered to table to staff not actually understanding what was missing from order, then when trying to pay with cash and being told they take only card payments which was never mentioned on arrival, as wouldn't have actually orderd if I had known. Food was actually nice when the right items arrived. Probably will not be returning even though kids had suggested taking me there for father's day.

Staff were very friendly, disappointing menu choices calamari really rubbery, ribs were nice but served on a massive plate placed ontop of the few chips I was served, a thimble of coleslaw, pizza was nothing special if slightly underdone, burgers were nice but again nothing special, for prices you charge I would not return !

There was no ambience and it felt like eating in a hotel reception area. The staff were very inattentive and we had to wait a long time to be served, then longer for our courses to arrive. The food was good when it eventually arrived, but frankly that did not make up for what was a disappointing evening. We will not be coming back!

Booked a table for dinner. Menu ok but no real fish options. Garlic pizza bread was tasty. The pizza was good. The burgers were great but for me too thick and chunky. All tasted good. Two lovely servers but what annoyed me was one stood at the till eating her dinner could she not go out back and eat. The menu itself could have done with a wipe down. We had dinner twice in this restaurant, just because stayed at hotel just above this restaurant. Where should we start… 🤔 first of all, the two different tables we was taken to by staff were shaking as if those table legs were different lengths. Second I had two do burgers from the menu and honestly i had better tasting burgers at a big M. And also, second burger mince was not prepared properly (mixed) I got one bite of meat with big amounts of black pepper and other spices 🤢and in both occasions the timber “plates” the burger was served, were cracked and bent which makes cutting burger impossible!! I mean table is shaking and plate rocking at the same time 🤦🏻‍♂️ We had Calamari which wasn’t cooked. For desert I got cheesecake OMG!!! and again biscuit wasn’t fully cooked, cheese tasted like sand due to sugar has not dissolved. Basically you won’t enjoy your dinner at this restaurant.

Came in December for a works Christmas meal, the set menu was delicious, the timing was a great between each course, drinks were amazing and the staff was very professional and made sure we was treated well for our visit! Can’t wait to go back!

Having pre-booked a work's dinner we arrived to a nearly empty restaurant, however it took the three servers over 30 minutes to take our drinks order and 45 minutes before our food order was taken. It went downhill from there, and 4 hours later it took several of our party leaving the restaurant to catch the last train home before anyone took enough notice of us to bring the bill. Then they had the audacity to add a £50 service charge! I spent over £600 on the meal and felt ripped off. I emailed the restaurant that same night to raise my concerns, but have still not received a reply. A feedback form sent to the head office also went unacknowledged. If you are staying in the hotel I would recommend trying one of the many other nearby restaurants if you want to save yourself disappointment.

In all the years of dining out at restaurants I don’t think I have ever encountered an individual who has serviced our table as amazingly as Bow. This is my 2nd visit to Marco’s Italian at Milton Keynes (don’t be fooled by the fact this restaurant is attached to the holiday inn) mainly due to the impeccable service received from Bow. Her attitude to her customers is second to none, my family and I will be sure to return. The steaks are cooked to perfection and the buffalo wings are the best I’ve had. The food and wine is really very good. But the service is stellar. If you monitor your reviews Marco’s, Bow is the pinnacle of hospitality service and employees like this should be celebrated and retained at all costs. She really is a credit to your team there at the restaurant. The food, the drinks (best mojitos in town) and the service are beyond expectation. Thank you Bow and team

Six of my family met for lunch here , it is very smart looking the food was really lovely but the service was absolutly awful , twice we had to get up and ask could we have drinks we wasnt asked if we wanted sweet we got up again 3 different people bought our food and didnt know who had ordered what one girl didnt even know what meals she had in each hand unbeleivable . This very modern bistro is attached to the Holiday Inn which means easy parking. The menu is Italian but has plenty of choice, burgers, steak and Italian pasta dishes. We had nachos for starter followed by New York burger with Tiramisu. Most dishes apart from steak are about £13.00 deserts are about £6.50. Good value pleasantly served in cosy surroundings.

A number issues with Marco’s when we visited for dinner, the service was not good at all, firstly they bought the wrong wine had to wait 10 minutes for the correct one. Had to ask for the starter plates to cleared despite the staff walking past the table 4 times. Partner ordered a beer, it didn’t arrive, asked the waitress to chase it up, it still didn’t come, reminded the waiter and still had to wait for it. Staff ignore you when you try to get their attention. Prawn and crab penne pasta dish was nothing special, don’t order it. Will not be visiting again.

Visited here for the first time as a group, very nicely decorated and set up restaurant. Good variety on the menu. The food that we all ordered was absolutely delicious, I ordered a portion of onion rings and I have never tasted onion rings as good as these! The batter just melted in your mouth and the mustard mayo was a perfect accompaniment. For main I had the Rigatoni Bolognese which was also delicious. My only con is that it’s a bit on the pricey side but the food and service was very good

Fantastic dinner last night with great customer service & great atmosphere. Chicken chucks really tasty and soft and the sirloin was 5*. Highly recommended. Will come back soon.

The food was mediocre at best, the service from the Greek waitress was good, the kitchen was on a different space and time from the rest of the restaurant.The food ordered came at different times spanning from 10-20 minutes and most of the times the personnel was confused to find out which table ordered what.I would not be surprised if you close by the summer.Good luck!
