Terrible food quality and service

Lovely meal, our server was very attentive and sorted out our allergy ridden 5 year old without issue. Every course was spot on and we love the fresh olives. Surprised it was not busier for a Saturday night - is this just a MK thing? Centre was dead. If you’re not used to MK it’s a strange place for parking and as we walked out at 10pm it felt like we were the last people on the planet in the empty mall!

Yeaterday evening I visited centre mk branch with my husband and 3 young children from the moment we arrived the customer service was absolutely exceptional. The service was fast, food delicious but mainly the staff was incredible. Wish I had got the name of the young lady who seated and our waiter. For this we will definitely be returning.

Not the best experience , I ordered the chicken and as I didn't want potatoes asked if I could have salad instead , if note it does come with some leaves and dressing . Instead of putting together a small salad it was literally a couple of extra spinach leaves and rocket . Really not worth the price. No one asked if we wanted extra drinks , or to see if we were ok once our food arrived . Then when they cleared the table dropped spaghetti down my blouse . Would not recommend

food came out before drinks, pasta was overcooked and had to ask for a bowl for the muscles. I usually am very generous because i work in hospitality but… i hated it.

If I could give zero for service I would. Such a shame. Menu changed for the worst. We have been coming for several years. Sadly, the service has dropped terribly. On arrival, the lady read our pre-booked request to go in a booth and sat us opposite the toilet. I asked not to be near the toilet, and she protested it was a booth. She was clearly annoyed. It was not a boith. She then sat us on a table. A white couple came in, and guess what? They got a booth. Yes, we had reserved. Then we ordered our mains plus the side which never came. Politely, I told the waitress it never came, so pls ensure it's removed off the bill. She then replied "yeah that's fine." Actually it is not fine. An apology would have been nice. Later the other manager came and we gave her our dessert order. I also told her the side never came. "Yeah, I know she told me". Another bad attitude. " Again, no apology. They then went off and had a chin wag about it. Walk round like robots no smiles. Standard really dropped. Maybe they need new staff. Too busy, not enough staff? Neither one of them said sorry until I mentioned it twice, and " apology would have made it better. As I started to post this, she actually came and said, "I apologise again, I cancelled the order for you cos you nearly finished your food". Firstly, you did not apologise to us, so saying "again" is a lie. Secondly, please do not lie. You lose all credibility as an organisation representative. The manager came at the end and said I have taken the drink and dessert off the bill for you. To be honest, even the dessert was either not defrosted on the base or far too old. We always have the same dessert. It was awful today. My americano was watered down and not like before. Corners are cut, the new menu is awful, and the service is at its worst. Wish we had the skinny little lady. She always remembers us and treats us well. You've lost 2 loyal customers. We do not recommend this eatery.

We love the food and staff, that's why we've been coming here nearly every week for several years now., the only thing is that the chicken lasagne is no longer on the menu which was my favourite dish, but that's not the fault of the staff, they're great

Gluten free pizza unbelievable. So good to be able to get gluten free food that tasted like real food again. Ice cream was delicious. Service excellent.

Food wise as close to Italy as you can get, without leaving the UK

The food is not that good and the menu is very short so not too many options.

Kinda disappointed with this place, the lasagne was good, carbonara was average, the calamari was too chewy and bland, (and a little pale too). I probably wouldn’t come back here on the next visit to Milton Keynes.

This is my second time eating at Ask Italian and the food is heavenly amazing!! When I went before with my friend for the 1st time, that experience and taste of pizza was stuck on my brain and now I'm happy because I tried it again.. we had kids with us and the staff was welcoming to our kids and wasn't bothered.which made us feel relieved. You know how kids can be but we had fun with them So go for it ASK ITALIAN IS THE BEST!!

Nice restaurant, food and service was great.

Very rude staff! I'm sure its not everyone but just one guy had a very bad attitude. He even went to the extent to raise his voice before my 2 year old daughter. Insane! I hope the management deals with it appropriately. Almost spoiled our perfect evening but luckily we quickly moved to another restaurant nearby. Food is good here. Maybe I'm gluttonous but the portions feel smaller than I recall though. They were able to cater for a family visit with 2 strollers which was nice. The main issue was the speed of service for our visit... 2 hours for mains and dessert is just way too long. We waited nearly an hour for our mains to arrive and the staff didn't even acknowledge that we had waited this long! Our waiter had to be called every time and never checked on us. The waiter then expected a tip. I usually do especially it being a festive period but he just did his basic job and did not provide a service.

The food and service were both very good. It was very busy, but even so, we were seated within a few minutes, the order for n our drinks was prompt and our food came quickly, too. Very impressed.

Love it here as the vegan spaghetti pomodorro is absolutely gorgeous. Also my daughter loves the vegan pizza.

I always have a lovely time at Ask Central Milton Keynes (shopping centre) but particularly for the exceloent service of Mona who is always friendly and makes you feel special. Immaculate service and manners. Thank you so much Donatella

Post shopping casual dinner. Visit fairly often. Food quality has improved over the last year. Service has always been pleasant and personal as we are always acknowledged as regular customers.

The food was good but out of the 2 pastas 1 out of them was abit bland but overall good the service was very good done by a lady called mona

This was first time we visited this restaurant and the service and food was out of this world. We had a great experience and we love Italian food very much. Would definitely return and would also like to thank Mona very much for looking after us during our visit. Very good employee

We went here for a lunch with cousins. We were seven of us with kids and were also the most demanding folks. Ordered a lot of food: 3 pizzas, lasagne, number of sides and drinks. I must say the serving staff was very patient and gave great service even when the restaurant was very busy (all tables were full and kitchen loaded to the brim). Our highlight was the pollo lasagne and spicy nduja pizza. Other things were also pretty nice. No complaints. Will keep going back. All the best Ask Italian.

Excellent service. Mona was exceptionally kind and helpful in an authentic manner and her smile was genuine. The food was served really fast and it was delicious. We will return for the food quality, service and pleasant atmosphere.

Amazing staff, great welcoming, Bart really looked out for us, made sure we have been looked after, all friendly and joly - food was exceptionally good, Chef Tarsan did not disappoint!, fast and tasty overall great Service from Kitchen to floor!

Had to pizza's to share which were decent and a side of chips, the chips were really good. The ordering and payment system are both online meaning you have to use their WiFi which takes a while to log into, the overall place was really nice though.

Met at door by a female with attitude. Ordering was quick but a lloonngg wait for a very nice lunch.

Visited Ask Italian at MK Central on Black Friday. Although the place was busy we managed to find a table . We had to wait for 5 mins but got seated quickly. The service was engaging and pleasing. Although the place was busy food was served quickly . We had a couple of starters - Mushrooms, Prawns, Calamari and Vegan range as well. It was tasty and served hot. We shared a couple of pizzas which was sumptuous. The staff had a smile on their faces always. It was nice ambience. good range of drinks and food. Parking is available at MK Central

Mass produced, albeit tasty food. Small portions. When I ordered King Prawn in a dish, I expected more than one. Friendly service.

Absolutly Terrible. Dirty cup. Dirt floating in the milk. Our pizzas were almost cold and of very poor quality. Sorry to say this as I have eaten in their restaurants elsewhere without an issue.

Great for lunch out one of the best places for great food in Milton Keynes especially after shopping and good for wheelchair as tables and chairs can be moved but I think toilets are up stairs

We went on a Monday evening and the restaurant was very quiet. The service was excellent as was our food. Staff very friendly.

Tried numerous times to book & always told mo availability on which ever date we chose. We tried multiple days & times.

The staff looked like they were being forced to work! The attitude of the staff was awful to the highest level. No politeness or a smile, simply order taken, we visited last night to celebrate my sons birthday, no acknowledgment or care, worst of all the place was very quiet so no excuses! Visited many other Asks restaurants and have to say this is not the first time this particular restaurant has given such a service. The only member of staff we have had is from the manager who try’s very hard every time (if she’s the manager that wore all pink on 11/9/2023!

The service was only a 4 since my uncle didn’t get his chips but they gave him the money back that they charged him for them but everything else was so amazing especially the service for a bday would recommend

The food was excellent I just can’t fault. The chefs working in the kitchen cooked up some brilliant food. But I’m sorry to say this there was 3 women working up front doing all the serving and taking the food orders, they were so terrible and also I have to say there was no service with a smile. I took my wife and son on my birthday, I just felt very let down by the service. Food was excellent so well done to the chefs

Visited here for lunch. Visited us in with no hassle without booking. All the staff made us feel welcome. Service was great. Kids menu is good. Was offered free shot of homemade lemonade as we sat down which was a nice touch. All our meals were delicious. Would defo recommend if you like Italian food. Good choice on menu. Thanks all

Came here last night for dinner because we havent been to a Ask restaurant for ages.Our starters came out promptly,i had the focaccia bread with dipping oil and my wife had the arancini balls.My bread was severly overcooked,slightly burnt and rock hard.,and one of my wifes balls was overcooked also.She ate hers but mine was replaced.The lady at the front of the house even had the cheek to say " SHE LIKES HERS OVERCOOKED ",really.My mains was nice,i had the green pesto pasta with added chicken.My wife had the lasagne and said it was just ok,but my boy had the spaghetti bolognaise and it was awful.He left it.I had a taste of it and it was tasteless and bland.i used to love this italian chain of restaurants but it seems like the chefs at this restaurant dont really care.i 100% wouldnt come back here again

Arrived with 2 hungry children, ordered food and waited. Waitress apologised 3 times for the delay. No drinks arrived. When food arrived, calamari was insipid in colour and very stringy. When the mains arrived, we complained about the delay. Manager said you have been here for 37 minutes only, calamari looks like that and we are busy. I believe our order was placed 37 minutes previously, however we had arrived over an hour earlier. Pizza ordered was not great and customer service poor. Will not return. Lady manager took the calamari off the bill and was very defensive. Just a long and unpleasant experience.

Lovely outing to mall last Sunday with our family and we had a delicious Italian lunch here after all our walking and shopping. The staff were very helpful in getting us a corner seat where we can place our baby pram out of the exit way and throughout the meal, everyone was helpful and checking in on us from time to time to see if we needed anything else. There’s also a side corner for baby changing station which is amazing! Loos are on the top floor, they are clean and nice. Overall a very positive experience. Thank you for that and we’ll be back soon xx

Attentive service and food arrived piping hot and was very tasty. Resturant was clean and tidy and Manager friendly. Will definatley re visit on next shopping trip to CMK

Called in here today for our usual lunch in MK, we were shown to a table 1st unfortunately the seats were wet so we the waiter gave us another table, we sat down waited 10 minutes to order our drinks we were not offered the usual complimentary taster drink then we waited another 5 minutes & no one came over to take our order. Considering there were plenty of spare tables & nobody could be bothered to serve us we put our coats on & walked down to another restaurant. As we walked out the same waiter shouted THANK YOU! As we have been regular visitors to Ask, I am afraid it will be a while before returning.

Absolutely amazing, lovely and happy workers, moody atmosphere and amazing food with an amazing bolognaise! Kids come with a starter and you get lemonade shots once your seated 5 Star, absolutely recommend! 👍🏿

A friend and I went for lunch. The service was good but we both found the food (both chicken main meals) to be disappoiinting and very average considering the rather expensive prices for the quality of the food served. The wine was also overpriced. Will not be visiting again as we considered our visit was not good value for the prices charged.

I came in for lunch at about 2pm with my sister. We were taken to a table by a very unpleasant woman which looked like she didn’t want to be there. She was extremely moody, then walked through the entire restaurant with a pack of cigarettes in her hand ready for her break which we thought was very unprofessional in itself. Our waiter was OK at the beginning, but whilst he was standing at our table taking our order, he suddenly walks off shouting asking who moved some customers onto another table. He then kindly came back to actually take our order.. he then disappeared on what we which believe was his break without being notified which forced us to order the rest of out through the app. My sister kindly asked the blonde long haired manager for a straw, to which she didn’t even reply but walked off shouting to a waiter to bring her a straw. whilst we were waiting for our food, we heard another female manager very clearly argue with a chef about something over the food pass area. we were sitting quite far away and should’nt have been able to hear such conversation. The food which was then served to us was genuinely disgusting. The lasagne was green, watery and inedible, and the pizza had a total of what looked like one slice of salami on it. No balsamic onions or peppers to be seen. Overall, an absolutely awful experience leading us not to return to any ASK Italian branch again. We are not ones to complain, and this is our first even Google review, but we couldn’t leave this matter untouched.

ASK just doesn't hasn't recovered post covid. Mushroom starter was edible but looked like it had just been thawed and blasted with heat - bread slices welded to dish and could not be moved. Pizza looked like something you'd get from the freezer section at the supermarket.

Poor, expensive for what you get and poor table service, didn’t really feel looked after more of a haste. Calzone better at Prezzos Asks one not very full. Child’s cheesy pasta was dry and thrown in a bowl. Pizzas were good, but all expensive for the food and experience.

This is a review for TAKEAWAY. Food was on time, warm, but not hot enough. Portions were VERY disappointing. Cost of food for the quantity was a let down.

Amazing! Brilliant customer service & great food. Our waiter was outstanding, when our main came out before our starters he rectified it immediately & gave us drinks on the house to apologise. When our BAG code wasn’t working, the manager was really kind and understanding. Again, food was amazing, the nutella gnocchi was 10/10!!!!

Brilliant service. I ordered a pizza for the first time in a restuarant and was not disappointed.

First visit, Tried the Vegan pizza on the menu and it was amazing specially the No duja pizza with mushrooms and truffle. Would say prices are better than other pizza places. Would come back again for sure with the kids.

Had a really lovely experience here. Went for my daughter’s 13th Birthday. All the staff were very welcoming and attentive. The food was really good, piping hot and speedy service. Particular thanks to Clayton who was our waiter; thank you so much for making the meal a special occasion. We look forward to dining here again soon.

Myself and my friends went here yesterday for dinner. Two of us are vegan and was very disappointed that the one vegan pasta dish on the menu was out of stock. However we went ahead and order our starters and mains, when the starts came out they gave the non-vegan bruschetta to my vegan friend and the waitress was confused whether my dough balls were vegan or not, luckily she double checked and they were. The other bruschetta that we ordered came out and it was the vegan one. Both my friends were very disappointed with the bruschetta, it was just two sad, dry yet soggy pieces of bread with a bit of chopped tomato on top and the non-vegan one had a small amount of cheese. We decided the best thing to do was to cancel our mains and just pay for the starters as we wasn’t enjoying them. I kindly ask the waiter to do this and he didn’t seem overly happy with us leaving. He brought us over the check which was no problem however whilst we was still eating he made us stop and pay by waving the card machine in front of us. He had no idea why we was leaving only that I had said something had come up so I didn’t expect to be pushed out so quickly. I found the whole experience very unpleasant and unprofessional!

Experience overall wasn’t satisfactory. Very slow table service, blonde corpulent waitress looked rather rude than friendly. We left and forgot my shopping item on the table, she advised she was cleaning table after we left and nothing was already there, which is quite impossible, I just didn’t want to argue. In general she looked at us like she hates us and she hates this job. Also food- its Italian restaurant, ordered some chicken and got just simple chicken nuggets, which came with lemon. Didn’t taste really nice too. Also kids starters only came after main meal when I asked too. Wouldn’t recommend it unfortunately.
