The Italian Sul Lago in Milton Keynes

One of the best sunset views in Milton Keynes. Really good food and our waitress REANNA was the best one of the restaurant, suggesting us about the food and desserts. Good price. We’ll repeat for sure.

What an amazing place! Apart from the view out of the huge window, which is one of the best in MK, the service was professional and really friendly, the food was brilliant (try the new dessert menu!!), and the whole meal was relaxed and hugely enjoyable. Highly recommended.

This was hands down the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. Our waitress was unbelievably rude and aggressive from the start. When we casually said, “Oh, there are only 3 mocktails,” she kissed her teeth, stormed off, then slammed the menus onto a table and started loudly complaining about us to her colleague right in front of us. Completely uncalled for. We politely asked for a different waiter. Not only were we ignored, but she laughed when told we had complained and came back to us with even more attitude. She made us feel so uncomfortable that we almost walked out. The behaviour was unprofessional, hostile, and just plain disgusting. I would never recommend The Italian Sul Lago to anyone. Management seriously needs to step up and address this disgraceful conduct. No customer deserves to be treated like that.

Really good food at a reasonably price, lovely venue too. We will certainly be back!

I had heard great things about this place and decided to make a reservation a few weeks in advance, specifically requesting a window table with a lake view to make my birthday dinner special. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we were not seated by the window as requested. After voicing my concern, we were eventually moved to a window table, which I appreciated. We ordered pizza and steak—the pizza was delicious, but the steak was burnt, likely due to an uncleaned BBQ grill. Another disappointment was the so-called “candle surprise.” We were told we had to order dessert in order to receive it, which felt forced and took away from the gesture. If you're planning to surprise someone, it should feel genuine—not conditional. Overall, some highlights but also quite a few misses for a place with such a good reputation.

Lovely Lakeside Dining – Worth the Splurge! Had a fantastic lunch at this Italian restaurant right next to Fuzton Lake—the views are absolutely stunning! The food was delicious; I enjoyed a tasty pizza and perfectly cooked sea bass. The interior is stylish and inviting, though the prices are a bit on the higher side. Still, the great ambiance, excellent food, and breathtaking scenery make it worth it. Highly recommend for a special meal by the water!

The place is really lovely! Staff is amazing. We have been there a few times but this last time the music was really loud and because the place was busy as well, it was difficult to speak to each other. The food was okay - bathrooms were really dirty which was a shame for such nice place!

Great view with horrible service. The waitress who served us the table and settled the bill is very rude, giving us an attitude from the start. Other waiters and waitresses are fine but our moods were ruined. Food is alright.

We held a work recognition event here, it was amazing ! Emily and the whole team were fantastic..I would definitely recommend this for any event. Beautiful venue and amazing food!

Jake was amazing! He was so friendly and down to earth. We love America and the service compared to the UK is second to none. Because of Jake we will be back and if all of our tip went to Jake we would have given him more! Thanks Jake!

Delicious food, very good staff and super quick. We didn’t have a reservation and they found a good table for us immediately on a Friday night. I recommend.

This was a disappointing visit. The service was okay but the meals were mixed up on delivery and the staff panicked. Average food, extraordinary views if that’s what you’re looking for this a great place to go but we weren’t impressed.

It was a lovely place to eat a little cold in there. My My scallops where cold ,was a shame but steak was lovely 😍 they need to put little more Italian dishes on the menu 👍

Great food and excitement service.

My friends and I attended The Italian Sul Lago for a birthday meal. This was the first time I had dined at Sul Lago, so I wasn't really sure what to expect, however I was hoping for a postive experience. What first struck me when we were seated by one of the friendly waitresses, was the beautiful view we had of the lake from our table, it really set the scene for a charming and enjoyable evening. The service was very prompt and friendly from Brooke our waitress as she ensured she charmed us all throughout the evening!!! The atmosphere was very serene and had a postive warm ambience. However I think being the oldest adult in our group at 56!!!!!!, Sul Lago with it's hip background music and chic interior decor was possibly designed to encourage the younger clientele rather than the over 55's. However the food was excellent and cooked perfectly. I had the Chargrilled Tiger Prawns with chilli, honey and lime to start which were tender and succulent. For my main I ordered the the Linguine Gamboroni which was excellent and had just the right amount of background heat from the chilli to make my lips tingle. My friends ordered a Cheese and Mushroom Pizza and Beef Pappardelle which they both enjoyed, however the pizza had just to much cheese than my friend wanted. All in all the food was excellent and at a very reasonable price. A great evening was had by all with lots of laughter, banter and good food. I would suggest you give Sul Lago a try if you enjoy Italian food with breathtaking views at a reasonable price.

Went for lunch to celebrate mum's birthday, had the roast chicken, nice place, nice staff, good time.

We hired Sul Largo for a private function & it was exceptional from Emily, Vella & all the staff through to the quality of the food & location we could not have asked for anything more.

Very impatient and dismissive waitress, came in to dine but only had 2 drinks because of the rudeness displayed by the server. She clearly did not want to be there.

Had a great dining experience at Italian Sul Lago! The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed meal. I started with the calamari, which was cooked perfectly—crispy on the outside and tender inside. For the main, I had a steak, which was well-seasoned and cooked just right. The food was fresh and full of flavor, and the overall presentation was great. The restaurant itself is a nice spot, with a welcoming vibe and good service. Definitely a place worth visiting for quality Italian food in MK!

It’s a lovely restaurant with a great view and atmosphere however there are a couple of not so great points. The food - it’s ok, it’s not the best Italian food I have ever tasted and it’s very safe. I visited 2 years ago and then again last month and the menu is the exact same. We had calamari and croquettes as a starter and no sooner had we ordered these arrived at the table which doesn’t scream freshly cooked. Whilst efficient service is desired, I feel less than 2 minutes from ordering to it being on the table is too quick and suggests it’s not been freshly cooked. We then had a ridiculously long wait (45+mins) for our main course which was a pizza dish and a pasta dish, the server was attentive and kept apologising for the wait. It is a lovely place and has so much potential, good wines and plenty of cocktail options however we were just a bit disappointed with the food.

The linguine verde was delicious, ditto the tiramisu. All four of us enjoyed our meals during a busy Saturday night. The waitress was really helpful to my friend offering to swap out mushroom for peppercorn sauce. It's just the ambiance...you've got a big restaurant, loads of artificial flowers as you enter, lovely Italian menu and yet the pulsing music seems so jarringly set against this atmosphere. Turn the volume down a bit, change the genre (more chill out Ibiza than pure Ibiza) and it would be easier to talk and help create a more intimate atmosphere.

The atmosphere and location of this restaurant created a promising first impression. However, the food, while enjoyable, wasn't the traditional Italian fare we were hoping for.

Starting with the good; the decor and atmosphere had a great vibe for a Saturday night, with a nice view of the lake. The cocktail was nice too! However, I regret to say that the food was well under par. The scallops were very undercooked, and unfortunately the beef pappardelle was extremely bland and lukewarm. There isn’t much that I can compliment about the food, and unfortunately I won’t be eating here again. I will come back for drinks though!

Went here to celebrate a very special occasion , atmosphere was a great vibe food was lovely however the waitress we had Rihanna (we think is her name) was rude , impatient and had a very sassy attitude . Disappointing regarding the setting and food . She may have had a bad night but was not pleasant for any of us and generally dampened the mood …. Even noting the special occasion on our booking she still did not deliver minimum customer service standards . For this reason we sadly would not come back even though as stated the food and vibe was great ! .

This lakeside restaurant has a great atmosphere, delicious food, and excellent service. Every dish—from the appetizers and main courses to the sides and desserts—is very tasty. It’s a satisfying choice for celebrating a birthday or special occasion.

Called on off chance they had a table and they fitted us in. So glad we got a chance to dine here. Great food and staff very friendly. Lovely atmosphere

Absolutely amazing. ambience was cosy, friendly and romantic all at once with excellent service. Food was outstanding and there was plenty of it. Overall we had a great meal and all 7 of us left very happy and full, even though the food here is by no means cheap we found that the combination of quality, service and ambience made this excellent value for money.

I took my daughter here today for lunch to celebrate NYE. It honestly is the most beautiful place, overlooking the lake. The team are fabulous, chatty and friendly, the food is INCREDIBLE with generous portions and the ambience perfect. Second time here and will definitely be a regular. If I could give 6 stars I would. 🌟

Excellent location facing Lake Furzton in MK. Very good atmosphere, good service, which without a doubt is lucky in the UK. Good decoration and stylized atmosphere. ADVISABLE.

The environment is good, the atmosphere is good, the service is friendly, the food is good and delicious, and it is a good choice for CP.

We were served a young boy who explained to us it was his trial shift. I didn’t get his name he did great, for his first shift on a busy Saturday we observed him really trying and giving great customer service, we were very happy with the service we received despite it being his first shift. The food was also amazing, the chorizo croquettes were incredible. As always a pleasure to visit Sal lago.

Good food, very good and quick service.

We went on Saturday night so the restaurant was quite full, nevertheless the service from Brooke was excellent, very attentive and the food was delicious, I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

Nice atmosphere but the food was not good and did not even seem Italian. There were no basic ingredients like salt and pepper. We were served with a lot of rush to order and the food arrived in a very short time and seemed like it was already ready.

Would definitely return, Sunday Roast was good, either diners had Pizza & Pasta, both were very good. Particularly great location in the Summer I would imagine, with lovely views over Furzon Lake. Staff & Service were good.

The good points: - friendly, helpful staff. - quick service. - seafood dishes were nice. - starters were nice. - desserts were delicious. The bad points: - music too loud - cannot hear someone next to you talking, which also meant our server got one of our mains wrong. - music not right genre - felt like I was in a club/bar rather than a restaurant. - short rib dishes were very disappointing - short rib overcooked & dry, pappardelle was bland, not worth the ££. Based on the above, will not be revisiting and do not recommend.

Very nice indeed, couldn't get in the night before as there was a wedding but as I was working down there for a couple of days enjoyed a meal the day after 😁👌

This place is absolutely fantastic, the ambience is beyond awesome, the service is brilliant, the food is out of this world, pizza, garlic bread, Sunday roast or what I had the sea bream with sautéd Mediterranean vegetables you won't go wrong. Go there and experience luxury food and a price one can afford.

Me and my family who were a party of 11 recently had the pleasure of dining at Sul Lago Italian Restaurant, and it was an experience to remember! The ambiance is warm and inviting, perfect for a cozy evening out or a special celebration. A few of us went for the Sunday roast option which is lovely as well as the pizza and other Italian menu choices. We had exceptional service provided by Brooke. Her recommendations were spot-on, and her cheerful demeanor added to the overall enjoyment of our meal. I can't wait to return!

Finally! A roast dinner worthy of venturing out of the house for!! Visited Sul Lago yesterday for my birthday with 12 of my girlfriends and the roast dinner was chefs kiss! Meats were amazing, veg perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the extra sides were divine! Service was exceptional. Lorna was amazing! I’ve tried a lot of places in MK for a roast dinner and this is by far the best! Highly recommend

Great place and amazing atmosphere. If you like Italian food though you might be disappointed as it is not very original. I would suggest it for a nice day out for cocktails and starters.

It is such a relaxing place to eat

It’s my second time here. Might not be the last even if the food quality is not superb. The ambience and the location is spot on! I looove the entrance hallway, although still haven’t taken my mandatory shot. It’s giving lush vibe ♥️ Service is OUTSANDING! Lovely staff! Very accommodating! Both times we were here they always find a way to give us space no matter how busy they were 👏🏻✅🤗 First time, I had Sunday Roast, nothing special but its nice. My son had carbonara and my partner had Linguine Pomodoro they both said its too salty. I also ordered Calamari (which I always do, literally once I see it in the menu, my go to starter) its not worth the price, serving is too little. Well thinking its kind of a posh spot. Not bad. Second time I ordered Crab Linguine, I was excited since I love seafood. But man! I felt like eating salt, for real!! Good thing I ordered garlic bread with it. It made it edible. Such a shame that the saltiness ruined the dish. I was like am I eating literal SEAfood? But to even it out. We had such a lovely time regardless of the food. And topped it off with a lovely mocktail, I forgot what its called 🤔 looked pretty and tasted nice! I plan to try their pizzas next visit 🥰 looks delicious!

Great view and you can admire the sunset with a direct view if you sit near the glass panel. We booked for a 1700 hours table and the restaurant was empty. However, somehow the table next to us was used for the next customer as opposed to other area in the restaurant and privacy chat was a bit limited. Otherwise, food in general was good but the pear crumble made up for the little oversight 😁. Oh the calamari was excellent 😋.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sul Lago in Furzton, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of fantastic. The service was impeccable,friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The highlight of the evening was the sea bass. It was cooked to absolute perfection, with a crispy exterior and tender, flavorful flesh that just melted in my mouth. The accompanying sides complemented the dish beautifully, creating a balanced and delicious meal that I’m still thinking about! If you're looking for a place with great food, superb service, and a lovely atmosphere, I highly recommend Sul Lago. I will definitely be returning soon!

The Italian Sul Lago in Milton Keynes offers a brilliant dining experience with its superb lake views, adding to the restaurant's charm. (Linguine with red prawns) is one of the best pasta dish I've ever had - coated in a silky, rich, creamy sauce. Succulent natural sweet tasting prawns to round off the dish with every bite heavenly. Simple yet unforgettable. The constructed cheesecake - sublime

I was not impressed by this restaurant. I have been before and had great service and food. This time, though, everything was terrible. The menu is rubbish compared to what it used to be. The service is useless. My main meal came out 5 minutes after everybody else in our party, and only then when we had to ask. No apology at all. When the wine came out, I asked the waitress not to pour it as we still had drinks to finish from the bar. She totally ignored me and poured away, and hold me, it was her job to pour the wine, but never came back to the table to top the glasses up. I will certainly not be returning to this terrible restaurant.

We have arrived at 5pm, and even though the location closes at 7pm, they said the kitchen is already closed and we won’t be able to eat. The location is gorgeous and the lake near is perfect for after dinner walk. It’s such a pity..

Been to this restaurant several times but unfortunately I think it might have changed hands. Very disappointed with the food and the service was well below what we have had previously. We were a party of 4 and none of us were impressed. The calamari was dry and just tasted of pepper. The crab linguine turned into a game of find the crab! The menu just isnt as good it appears to have been reduced significantly. The whole vibe of the place is one of they're doing you a favour by letting you dine there...it appears to be very up itself, when in reality its sub standard in every respect we won't be returning or recommending

I had a decent meal and was admiring the great views of the lake when they were rudely interrupted by a large hairy man with a mullet playing a guitar and drinking wine on his own disturbing me, my children and everyone else outside. This is not the first time I have come across him at the restaurant.

Food and service great, however big man with mullet always sitting outside with a guitar. Disturbs other guests and ruined my experience.

We came to celebrate our wedding anniversary, we had a table booked inside , but the view outside was just so beautiful we ate outside and watched the sun go down good food and good service added to a brilliant evening .

We had a wonderful time on Saturday 14th September 2024. Our Waitress, Brooke, was beyond excellent in taking such good care of all of our needs. Two of us are Vegans and the other two are Vegetarians but she went through all of our options. She was so kind, cheerful and professional. Such a credit to Sul Lago. My daughter and I came for dinner and we were certainly not disappointed. The food was lovely. Staff couldn’t do move for you. The restaurant was so busy but because of how well it was managed you felt like you were pretty much only ones in there! Recommend booking to avoid disappointment!

Great food high quality nice view of lake. Nice portion sizes. We got the calamari, vodka sauce tagliatelle, and crab linguine. My friend and I came to celebrate a very special occasion. And we did enjoy it very much ! Only issue is service was extremely slow post-mains we waited 30+ mins for coffee and cake; saw others who came after us were getting their drinks and coffees before us after we had been waiting over 30 mins so we found that to be a little strange. We were in a rush after waiting and communicated that to our server and saw nothing was being done. Vella, another server, saved the day after seeing how long we were waiting for our coffees and brought them out in take away cups. To her manager know she did a great job and gave great customer service!

Enjoyed lunch at Sul Lago yesterday. I went for a girlie lunch with my friends and their kids and they let me order a dish that wasn't on their menu because I'm picky! Great portion sizes and good service from Lorna. Edited to add - I've just seen that they are running a 'kids eat free' offer during the summer hols, but we were charged full price for the kids meal.

Fantastic food today at Sul Lago. Not been before but heard great things. Turned up, had free parking (unheard of in MK). Amazing location and views on top of the hill overlooking the lake. I’m gluten and dairy intolerant and they gave me loads of options on the lunch menu. The food portions are great! You’ll never go hungry and most importantly the food is fantastic. Probably one of if not the best place to eat out in MK. Will certainly be going back next time I’m in the area.

A wonderful treat on the lakeside shore of Curzon Lake in Milton Keynes. Chilled vibes as soon as you enter a very well served restaurant, with enough space and privacy for a casual business lunch or romantic evening. The menu is simple and unitimidating, and the quality (and portion sizes) excellent. The fixtures and fittings are top grade, and a bonus for Milton Keynes, free parking!

Went last night for the country music. Best service I've had at a venue for a long time , the food was amazing. And the show was great. The whole evening was planned out brilliantly.

We arrived on time for our meal. I later received two emails telling me that I'd cancelled and was charged £30 cancellation fees.

The only shame of this restaurant was the food quality. Staffs were all amazing, efficient and attentive, great atmosphere as the restaurant is located right next to the Furzton lake which you can enjoy the beautiful sunset while you are having your meal. We came here on a busy Saturday evening and the staff managed to get us a table right away. Appreciate their hospitality during such busy time. We had two pasta as main: crab linguine and Tagliatelle alla vodka , the potion were big and presentation were on point. The pasta sauce was delicious but the pasta was OVERCOOKED which ruined the entire dish. We didn’t risk to order the tiramisu to-finish after reading through the reviews. I hope I could give this restaurant a 5 star review on my next visit.

Decided to try this place for the first time for my birthday and loved it, the food was absolutely gorgeous the atmosphere was lovely. Eve The waitress took pictures of us which were beautiful and she was very bubbly and kind I had a surprise birthday treat from the staff all round a very excellent and pleasant experience definitely will return. The service was brilliant, the lady that serviced our tablet couldn't have done anymore for us, unfortunately the food let it down. The starters were not what expected, some mains came out partly cold and bland and the onion rings and halloumi were super salty because of the batter. Also, the garlic butter was basically just butter, no garlic. I hate doing bad reviews, but the hype I had heard about this place I wanted to try it and was just so disappointed.

The atmosphere and aesthetic of the restaurant is very nice, paired with the live music was very enjoyable. Ordered the Tagliatelle Pollo, which had a very tasty and creamy base, although the pasta itself was slightly underdone and the chicken was okay. The tiramisu, although looked very appealing but was not all that great, nor worth the price. The bread was dry, lacked the coffee like a typical tiramisu. The cream also just tasted like normal whipping cream. Overall okay restaurant. Prices are on the higher end, with decent food. Aesthetics and live music is always a plus.
