Marco Polo in Bournemouth

Phoned up for collection at 21:10 (they close at 22:00), so I didn't need to sit in, I just needed to collect my food and go. Alas they informed me that the kitchen was closed already. It would of only taken them 10 minutes to do our order. They need to specify on their info that they don't accept orders after a certain time. I could understand if I was phoning them after 21:30 as they obviously need time to clean things down before they leave.

Mi familia había reservado para cenar en un pub en Christchurch, pero tras su cierre repentino e inesperado necesitábamos encontrar rápidamente una alternativa. Alguien sugirió Marco Polo y nos las arreglamos para asegurar una mesa para seis en poco tiempo. Cuando llegamos a primera hora de la noche el restaurante estaba muy ocupado y había un buen ambiente. La comida era muy razonable, el servicio excelente y las comidas eran de la más alta calidad (y muy generoso!) . No podía faltar cualquier aspecto de la experiencia de comer y recomendaría encarecidamente este restaurante. Tiene un encanto simple y rústico y se le hace sentir muy bienvenido.

Mi pareja y yo hemos estado en Marco Polo dos veces ahora y tengo que decir, que ahora es nuestro restaurante favorito. Todo, desde el servicio hasta la calidad de la comida y la relación calidad-precio es casi imposible de superar. Asegúrese de reservar ya que siempre parece estar (comprensiblemente) ocupado. Pruébalo, ¡no te arrepentirás!

A really cosy atmosphere and the food was perfect, the prices were also amazingly good value for the size and quality of food, felt very welcome and had a great experience for two

Pasamos la noche en Bournemouth y estábamos buscando un lugar para cenar. Un amigo recomendó Marco Polo, así que reservamos una mesa y fuimos. Las porciones eran asombrosamente enormes ni de lejos como lo que obtendríamos en Londres, el servicio era rápido y amable, pero la comida era tan increíble. Estaba bien cocinado, presentado muy bien y tenía un sabor fantástico. En realidad no puedo articular lo bueno que es este lugar que tienes que comer aquí para creer lo que estoy diciendo. Este hermoso restaurante italiano íntimo pone platos que no solo compiten, sino que también dan clases a muchos italianos de Londres en los que he cenado. Si estás en la zona y qué probar la comida italiana rústica saludable con porciones enormes, entonces este es el lugar sin duda o duda me alegra mucho que lo descubrimos. Definitivamente vale la pena un 2. 5 horas en coche del sur de Londres. 10 / 10 A++++ 5 estrellas pero no se lo digas a demasiada gente

We have been before and this is a local restaurant serving Italian cuisine. The service and ambience is great and the clientele mostly regular locals. The house wine is good value. The menu varied. My wife had Frito misty and I had grilled prawns in garlic butter to start with. very good! For the main course my wife chose the lemon sole and asked for salad instead of veg. This was an excellent meal with plenty of crispy salad. My choice was veal Milanese with spaghetti in tomato sauce instead of veg. The size of the veal escalope was huge but the spaghetti was the correct accompaniment. My issue is that the escalope consisted of minced meat rather than a slice of meat. I was a little disappointed although the meal did have good flavour. The ice cream desert went down well to finish. We will return but perhaps not for escalope of veal!

The food was some of the best I have tried, honestly. But the service was very stressful. The waiter (only one) was basically running when she served the food and there were only three tables occupied. Very stressful. The atmosphere was so so, they could have made the place a bit more cozy. Would I come back??? YES, simply because of the food

The food turned out to be tasty, even though the service is not from Italy. The portions were large and tasty, the prices were very affordable, and due to the large number of people, the service was very attentive. Overall a place worth visiting, we recommend it.

The value for money is amazing. The service is very efficient. The steak with peppercorn sauce is my personal favourite but the pasta is also excellent. Pizza is OK. I recommend this place over everything nearby. This is no.1! Please can we have more dry rose wine options?

Food took a little while to get out of the kitchen but once it was with us, it was really good. Our kids had pasta, and I had a pizza which was pretty good (we ran a pizza place until a short while back, so I am hard to please) and my wife had sea bass with prawns and mussels and that dish was absolutely amazing. We'd definitely be back if we are in the area again.

My garlic mushroom starter was huge, and the food quality was excellent throughout. MP is very much worth a visit. 2024 - back again and just as great...plus, lasagne was exactly the same price as last year...no increase...MP deserves to succeed!

I recently had the pleasure of ordering takeaway from Marco Polo, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. I phoned in my order for four pizzas and was told they would be ready in about 20 minutes. True to their word, the pizzas were piping hot and ready to go when I arrived. The pizzas themselves were a delightful surprise. Each one was perfectly crafted, showcasing a superb balance of toppings on a deliciously authentic base. The crust was just the right thickness, crispy on the outside and soft inside, and the sauce was rich and flavorful, complementing the quality of the toppings wonderfully. What really stood out was the authentic taste that each pizza boasted. It was clear that Marco Polo uses high-quality ingredients, which could be tasted in every bite. The experience was miles ahead of what you'd typically expect from a standard chain pizza. Overall, the service was quick, the food was outstanding, and the whole experience was hassle-free. I left wondering why anyone would choose the Pizza Hut across the street when Marco Polo offers a superior taste, quality, and overall value. I have just been to Marcopolo, the food was 10/10, great service and the restaurant is cute. Lately when I go out to eat I feel rushed, starters and food come out too quick almost like they want you to leave. I loved that I was able to enjoy a delicious meal at nice pace and not feel rushed. Couldn’t take any pictures as we sat to exclusively enjoy the food and conversation.

Good food but very slow service. We waited over an hour for pizza.

The service was OK, but the food was not great. I had meat on skewers, and boy, they tasteless!! The Mrs' main was 'mid', and her starter was even worse. All in all, we wouldn't go back again. Ladies who were serving were lovely.

We walked from Bournemouth to Boscombe in search of this place as it had excellent reviews and we had a delicious meal.... garlic bread to start, which was 3 slices of bread, not a whole pizza (thankfully!), followed by a delicious pizza and I had Tagettelli, which was excellently cooked. It was a Monday evening in July and there were 19 people dining there by 7pm.

One of the BEST restaurants we have ever been to! We booked into a restaurant down the road and when we arrived, the shutters were down and no one was in. Thankfully Marco Polo were able to take a booking for 9 people at that time and within 10 minutes, we were sat at the table with a drink. AMAZING! The food was incredible, the service was excellent and we all left very happy! (We had four Italians around the table who all said how incredible the food was) Would absolutely return back here again!

This is by far one of the best Italian restaurants I have ever been to. In the last few months I have been eating here about half a dozen times. Everything I have tried is cooked to perfection. I'm completely addicted to the asparagus and salmon gnocchi! The pizzas are amazing too, crispy base, fluffy dough and a taste explosion. The prices are very decent and the portions are really big. It's so rare to get both good portions and excellent food. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. Somehow they always manage to find me a table even when they are full. Free sweets and a limoncino shot, too - just as it should be! I cannot recommend this restaurant more wholeheartedly! Takeaway also available.

Ate here on a cool November evening.Everyone thoroughly their meals. Two of us had the tagliatelle with plentiful prawns and salmon, the other two penne and spaghetti dishes. House red was a decent Montepulciano and reasonably priced.The service was efficient and friendly. We would certainly eat here again.

We was working in Bournmouth and looking for an Italian and came across the Marco Polo.The food was outstanding - Sea food pasta had loads of fresh sea food & the other 3 people with me also a different pasta dishes all which was one of the best they had they said We drank the house red (£16 a bottle ) which was also very good - 4 mains + 4 starters + 2 bottles of re and 2 ciders £90.00 - outstanding valueThe service and the food were outstanding - one to put in the book
