Superb! As we were staying at the Leonardo, Hinckley Island Hotel during the half-term school holidays. Pre-reserved a table for myself & my children at their Onsite Marco Pierre White Steakhouse. The food was served hot, tasty & prepared with perfection. I opted for starters & mains to come out together. The service we received by Alen & all of the staff was exceptional. The very friendly staff, ambience & atmosphere made us all feel very special.

I’ve eaten here several times and never had an issue until now. Frequently have the fillet steak and never usually an issue. Last week however I requested the fillet with the french cuts chips rather than the chunky chips it comes with. Apparently this was not possible. So I went with the chunky as couldn’t be bothered to debate the waiter even after joking that I was sure marco wouldn’t give a crap what chips were being requested as it was easy enough to swap out. Decided on the king prawns for a start as well. And this is where it went wrong. Two had clearly been cleaned and prepped and were cooked through and were perfect in every way, however the third was still cold and had the shjt vein still running through it. It was like they were taking the piss out of me. I’d eaten the first one and when I saw the third uncooked one I stopped because I thought I’d get food poisoning. The waiter come over to clear our plates, looked at my plate and didn’t say a word with two out of three prawns still on the plate. Not one f@&k was given. I didn’t say anything as I’d had a crap day and was with company but based on the fact there was hardly anyone in the restaurant I’m guessing the staff here have given up. There’s a fish and chips place across the road - try that as it really want bad. Sadly won’t be back when im next there Ona conference.

Expected something a bit more as MPW put his name to it. Might as well have gone to the hotels other bar/restaurant. 1st steak was a sirloin it was full of gristle so went back. The bernaise sauce was poor and the green salad was dry and limp. Second steak a rib eye wasn’t much better so poor steaks (all be it cooked competently) but no quibble about sending back so good service. L

Uninspiring is all I can really say. The food is bland and somewhat under seasoned. Therefore over priced for what it is Service is good and attentive. I was expecting great things, after all it is labelled as Marco Pierre White. I stay at the Leonardo quite often, but this is the first and last time I'll eat in this restaurant. There are better restaurants close by.

Food and service were excellent Steak was cooked exactly as I like, my partner and I had a very good experience in the restaurant. 1 failing from my point of view and the sole reason for only a 3* review - this is a management failing Where do management deem it right to add a service charge to the bill NO restaurant should presume this to be good business I take offence to this and sadly the waitress didn’t get her worth - the restaurant owners/management owe the waitress £15 as I would of tipped and regularly tip between £20 & £30 for good service. I will think twice about dining at a restaurant that feels it’s correct to presume what its customers should do or even suggest it

Not quite the quality of food that we should expect from a restaurant with Marco's name next to it. The starter was tasty enough, but, for £11, I would have expected more than just a single piece of bread with butter on with my salmon! Having to buy bread as an appetiser before the meal came is also a little strange, not something that I'm used to at an upmarket restaurant, although maybe that's how places are managing their costs these days! The steak was fine, but the chips and tomatoes were a little on the sparse side. The most disappointing thing was the coffee, clearly filled up from a hotel machine as it arrived within about 30 seconds! Not really value for money and we won't be returning

Staying in the hotel this was attached to and had a couple of choices for dinner - an overly busy bar restaurant with terrible looking menu or this place which was near empty. (It was a cold mid week night I guess). I took a chance here then checked the TA reviews and heart sank. Actually, better than expected - great friendly service, nice smoked salmon starter with lots of garnish and a GREAT juicy burger and fries (which were on 50% off on promotion for January). Wine was expensive, but aside from that - no complaints (though I would NOT have spent over £40 on a fillet steak.

We were staying at the hotel. Our party of 4 adults dined here on a Saturday night. So obviously it would be quite busy. But there was only two staff doing practically all the work . Our lovely waitress was rushed off her feet at one point dropped a lot of dirty plates at a table She was mortified. The mains were delicious, the Beef stroganoff and Colonel burger .and although the lamb was delicious a lot was wasted due to the amount of hard fat on the strips of meat.

We expected a very nice meal with good service. Unfortunately this was not the case. After 30 minutes we had to go to the bar and ask why we had not received drinks ordered. After an hour we asked 2 wait staff when our food would be ready and were advised it was being plated up. When we finally received meals the Swordfish was very nice but the steak was chewy and lacking in flavour. Tomato accompaniment was tastiest part of dish. Restaurant lacked atmosphere and was very disappointing.

The experience at this restaurant was exceptional. The food was incredible & all accompanied by fabulous cocktails of the day. The staff made the experience though… without them it would not be the same!! So friendly, efficient, helpful with dietary requirements & they all made our experience extra special. At the hotel on business and so no option. Despite a colleague saying her previous meal there was not good we gave it a try. Food was ok. But had expected it to be fabulous for the price. Chicken dish was a nicely cooked chicken breast one potato and a little spinach with a pretty tasteless gravy. Colleague had the pork escalope which was dry and the chips were extra! Then 12.5 percent service charge (on line said 10). All in all very pricey bland small portions and would not return.

Was really looking forward to this restaurant that Marco Pierre White puts his name to - I would think all the food we had tonight was definitely frozen - nothing appeared freshly made, I’ve had far superior food at a travel inn at a fraction of the cost. The school children weekend staff were friendly and apologetic. All in all a very uncomfortable and disappoint meal.

This was my first visit to this hotel for decades and i was delighted to see there was a Marco Pierre White restaurant inside. Unfortunately the quality of food was appalling for the price and i am stunned that chef Marco would allow his name to sit alongside this bog standard offering. The photos i have attached are self explanatory. £10.50 for six pieces of calamari that looked frozen. The tartare sauce tasted as though it was from a jar and the lemon was crudely cut in half. "Half a lemon with your starter sir" The hotel was packed but the restaurant empty. Dozens of customers were seen leaving the hotel probably to taste the far better calamari starter at the Miller & Carter! The main courses were all £19.50 and i have tasted much better fish and chips at most pubs on a lunchtime menu. Tasteless mushy peas. reasonable chips and a piece of fish with stodgy batter that looked very much pre prepared. It was ok but not worth the money or the title of Marco Pierre White Fish and chips! Is this really a £19.50 burger? Is this really the best presentation of a burger that they could do? On a positive the young staff were lovely and attentive and the restaurant is warm and welcoming just lacking in customers for reasons stated above. It is difficult to know where to go with this one. Nobody in the local area talks about this restaurant and nobody i know uses it. What a shame as it is a lovely setting.

Marco, you really need to be more careful on the restaurants bearing your name. Having chosen fish and chips at nearly £20 I was expecting something special. A small quenelle of mushy peas, cold, a few chips and a meagre piece of fish in thick stodgy batter that was actually thicker than the fish it contained. Poor service and a boring environment. This is not a good reflection of your name.

This was a very disappointing experience. The food was poor value for money. We ordered three Fish and Chips and one American Burger. All portions were small. The burger came without the sweet pickled cucumber as the chef had forgotten to add it not to mention the poor quality burger. The Fish and Chips was bog standard, the mushy peas tasted as if there were from a tin, the Chips were probably oven chips and the fish wasn't great. Our view is this doesn't live up to Marco Pierre White's standards or reputation. It feels this establishment is living on the back of his reputation. The only good thing was the warm baked sourdough and the very attentative staff.

Me and a colleague came for an evening meal during the England v Wales game so the resteraunt and bar were busy. We received great service from the staff, but had well over an hour wait for our main course. We asked how much longer it would be after 60 mins had passed and were told 10 more minutes. Our food was eventually brought out and we had no complaints, it was amazing. Due to the wait, we were kindly offered complimentary drinks and dessert, the desert was amazing too. Overall the food was lovely, but we want to highlight the amazing service we received from Jon. He was hands down one of the loveliest, friendliest waiters we’ve met. He is a credit to the team and really turned the vibe of the evening around for us. We passed our thanks on to his manager on the night, but we were so impressed we want to extend our thanks again. Thanks so much Jon!!!!

Very poor experience. Ordered a burger from the menu. Specifically asked for to be cooked pink. Waitress kindly took my order and no problem with this (to add this waitress was really nice and welcoming) About 20 minutes later my burger shows up at my table with a different waitress and the waitress says “oh and your burger maybe over cooked from what you asked as due to health and safety we have to cook it to a certain temperature.” As she put it down on my table. No indication what I had request was a problem,till after they had cooked ( I say cooked, it was cremated) and presented it me at the table… is it not customary to warn customers in advance if they can’t do something? Not after it’s already been cooked? I’d have been happy to change my order to something if they couldn’t fulfill my request as I don’t enjoy a dry burger. Alas I wasn’t warned at all. I begrudgingly ate it, Burger was dry as a bone. I’ve had jerky with more moisture. Chips were tasty though. Many burger places around the world manage to cook perfectly pink burgers within health and safety guidelines perfectly well. Seems it must be out of reach for the chefs at this establishment. Then I ask for the bill and there’s a 10% service charge slapped on, so not only did I not get what I ordered. They even had the cheek to slap 10% on top. Very disappointing all round. Expected more.

Not good, not good at all, very average service - nice enough but evidently no or little training, nowhere near the level expected for the price, dirty chairs (and we were first in that evening and so hadn’t been cleaned since lunch), 1 member of staff was actually quite rude! We’ve had some amazing meals at the Nottingham restaurant. Hinckley was a let down - a steakhouse with 2 choices of steak (steak & chips or beef wellington). Our beef wellington (for 2) came on 1 plate so we had to divide it. The waiter poured us a glass of wine each and then took the bottle we’d paid for away!!! We had to go and find staff to ask for vinegar and the bill. To say it was Valentines weekend there had been no effort at all to make the experience special. A real let down that I won’t be doing again!

Absolutely shocking !!! The amount of things that went wrong with our meal was borderline funny. So we received a gift for Christmas of a 2 course meal for 2 that had to be used before the end of January 2020, Groupon voucher. When we arrived they couldn't find our booking, luckily I had email confirmation on my phone. Our table was nice enough, set nicely with glasses, crockery and cutlery all sparkly clean. The Menu for our deal was a smaller version of the main one. A fairly good choice of each course. I had Mr Whites Scotch egg, which to to fair was blooming lovely, I just wished I had called it a night there and then. My wife had a Butternut squash soup which she said was ok. Main course I had Roast Chicken Á La Forestière. Fricassée of woodland mushrooms, fondant potato, madeira roasting juices, buttered leaf spinach, I also had a side of dauphinoise potatoes. My wife had, Fried Fillet of Cod ,Sauce tartare, triple cooked chips, marrowfat peas Well this is where it all started going downhill. We received our mains and were amazed by the size ....they were huge ! We were given a side of mushrooms by mistake. The side of daulpinnoise potatoes were disgusting, they had been burnt on the bottom and I'm 100% certain they were at least 2 days old and reheated, dry and with a pungent flavour. They chicken itself was cooked ok pretty tasteless though, the fondant potato was rotten in the middle and rock hard and obviously hadn't been checked. It put me off my whole dinner. Ispoke to the waitress about these and was asked if I wanted replacements....er no thanks ! My wifes Fish came battered ! Which wasn't even mentioned on the menu and the chips were poorly cooked and quite hard. I skipped dessert as I'd had enough of the place by then, but my wife had a millionaire shortbread with bitter chocolate ice cream, it was neither of these things, it was cheesecake with vanilla ice cream, we asked if this was the correct dessert and was assured it was. To add insult to injury our napkins were covered in bits that transfered to our clothes. The serving staff on the whole seemed preoccupied with something else with only 1 male server doing most of the work, poor communication towards the guests. The Chef did come out and apologise and said he was embarrassed and waivered our bill, which was an empty gesture really considering most of our meal cost was covered by a gift voucher. I would have given this review 0 stars if possible.

It was FREEZING!!! We had booked a table in the restaurant at 7:30pm but we went in early hoping it would be warmer in the restaurant as the rest of the hotel was freezing - IT WASNT!! It was so cold we sat with our coats on. The main double doors were wide open (leading to reception) so we asked to be moved tables but we were told the area further away was for breakfast only so we couldn’t sit there. We asked 3 different members of restaurant staff if the doors could be closed and when nothing was done we complained to reception. Then the doors were then closed and 4 portable heaters were placed around the restaurant, obviously other guests had complained too! The food was ok but not the standard I was expecting for the price. It wasn’t full but we had a long wait for food to arrive & between courses. The walk from the restaurant to the toilet was so long we had to use the wheelchair to take Grandma to the facilities?

OMG!!! Where do I begin ... the food was soooo delicious I still can’t get over the pure pleasure I had from every single bite. It was literally to die for. I went for a French onion soup, until now no one has managed to top The Cote for that! I also had baked Camembert with sourdough bread and vine cherry tomatoes, fries and 70% cocoa chocolate mousse for the dessert. The staff were very friendly, professional and I just can’t fault it! Loved it thank you so much!

We was greeted to free Prosecco to celebrate our occasion. The food did take a while to arrive with starters first then a steak each as main. If I’m honest as a steak lover it wasn’t the best streak I’ve ever tried it was very tender having only had it done medium. But everything else was spot on.

On Saturday 19th we my wife and myself arrived at the Restaurant with high expectations.We were taken to a table for pre meal drinks,everything fine.....we were taken to our table,browsed the menu,but we had looked online and decided on our choices,I was also expecting a wine menu....NOPE...had to ask....the wine arrived and just plonked on the table.....we had to open our selves...we had no wine glasses..NOT what I expect at this class of or any class of restaurant,my wife chose beetroot with goats cheese,Fillet of Cod,myself Whitebait,Ribeye Steak with spinach.The Starters arrived,Whitebait was very nice,but my wife's was laughable Thin slices of beetroot with pea sized goats cheese pieces and watercress garnish.....for £8.50 robbery.....poor presentation.....Then we waited 40+ minutes for our main course ,had to mention to staff,then it arrived,then had to wait 5 mins for my Mushrooms and spinach,mushrooms cold,Steak just warm....we were both hungry so the meal was eaten and cold but very nice and well presented...but not good enough.....The Manager came over apologised for the poor service offered a discount,free drink voucher and a 20% of voucher on our NEXT VISIT.....our night spoilt and in my opinion not compensated enough. A RESTAURANT THAT CARRIES A CELEBRITY CHEFS NAME..don't make me laugh far to expensive for that level of service...

My husband and I arranged for a meal here after we got married in Las Vegas. There were 20 adults and 4 children and we were all looked after extremely well. James was especially helpful and attentive. We were given a free bottle of prosecco and after dinner cocktails, the food was lovely and the privacy of the conservatory was ideal.

Living locally we thought it was time to try this restaurant as we eat out regularly the menu choice was poor apart from steaks we ordered a starter of olives main course arrived before we had chance to even get halfway thro the steak was ok but the little bit of green leaf and 3 small vine tomatoes were not what we would expect of a meal costing £32.50 each we then ordered a sweet to share the tart was burnt around the outside and extremely dry the whole experience was poor and disappointing in the extreme would not recommend or be returning.

We dined at The Marco Pierre restaurant on our first night of our two day stay at the hotel. We dined as a party of eight. Frankly it was appalling. Four out of eight main meals were sent back as the meat was not as we had requested and was over cooked. However, the same plates were brought back with the same piece of meat. How did we know, my lamb was still overdone and my friend’s was the same steak with the same cut she had made into it previously!!! When we complained to the duty manager his response was “that’s as blue as you’ll get it”!! They did knock off the price for two wines but for the price we paid for the meal we expected better. More than London prices!! I wouldn’t choose to eat there again!!

Very disappointing, fillet steaks were very over cooked, sauce tasted like a packet mix,powdery, salad just mixed leaves and onions and the dressing tasted awful. On explaining the steaks were over cooked nothing was compensated or offered. Waiting staff very impersonal and inattentive, not what you would expect from this kind of “quality restaurant”. Will not be returning.

It seems that the issues that were apparent here when this restaurant opened under the MPW label some years ago are still prevalent today! We booked a party of 10 but were split up over different tables. The vegetarian offering was very limited and poor. The steaks were fatty and difficult to chew. We weren't even asked if we'd like more drinks or even desserts as the staff seemed more anxious to start preparing the tables for breakfast!

My friends and myself enjoyed the meal in the Marco Pierre White restaurant on the Friday night, but they run our of the red wine, at 22.15pm which we liked, and we had to order another more expensive alternative. We were asked to leave at 22.30pm.

Marco Pierre White afternoon tea vouchers are sold for this venue but really they shouldn't be. Obviously so few are sold its not worth opening the conservatory and we were served in the piazza.

Overpriced meals that look likes they had been prepared by a child. Portions ridiculously small, mains looking like entrees. Would be OK if the portion sizes reflected high quality food, but unfortunately nothing of the kind. Bacon chop was tougher than a romans sandle!

Our group of 10 gave our choices days before we even were there. Then they are able to bring out 8 starters in stead of 10. By the time the 8 were finishes the other 2 receved ther food. Everything was very average, so things really not good (egg Benedict, Mac and cheese). Staff is running like crazy but only fzw things seems to go ok. All very young people, i think the place is lacking some experianced leadership.

The restaurant is pleasant , nicely laid out tables, the staff are very polite and helpful,however the steak I ordererd was very tough and grissly, I had expected it to cut like butter as you would expect in a marco pierre white restaurant ,the mushroom sauce I ordered was a small dish of sliced mushrooms no sauce in sight, I ordered a green salad it was tiny . I and my husband were dissapointed as we had expected a superior quality meal, this was definitely not worth the cost and I felt sorry for the staff who acknowleged that they had recieved other complaints about the steaks. Marco piere white restaurants really need to ensure that their inflated prices are reflected in the quality of the food they serve and I would not use or recommend this restaurant to anyone. I appologise to the lovely staff they do not deserve this review , the quality of the steak is obviously poor and it is not their fault. ps they need to check their tables , we had to move as the table rocked badly only to move to another table that rocked badly , we had to resort to keeping our drinks on the window ledge.

Food was fantastic, great ambience and lovely staff! Came in for a family Birthday and couldn’t asked for a better evening while it was busy the stand out part was the staff. Never felt so welcome and accommodated. Our waitress Courtney was fantastic and did a special birthday plate which was a lovely touch

Reading most of these reviews have me absolutely baffled! Ive been sticky sisters several times and i actually went to hinckley today just to get a sticky sisters only to find it was closed down! It had me shed a tear almost, I was so looking forward to it. I had to google what was going on only to find such negative reviews which i find quite shocking knowing how good they actually are! Their milkshakes, burgers and fries were absolutely banging and worth the money. Most people are complaining when they’ve ordered online and their food turned up “cold” but its not the restaurants fault its normally the delivery drivers. Such a shame for an actual decent place to close down because of highly opinionated stuck up individuals who just want attention or a few pennies back. Outraged.

Dreadful food. Poor quality. My son ordered the chick n mix, undercooked chips with black bits on from dirty oil. Overcooked but slimy chicken wings and fillets. I had a Sunday roast which was vile. Solid mash which I couldn’t eat, frozen dry roast potatoes and rubbery beef. Drive straight past and save yourself the disappointment.
