Marble Hall Chippy in Pembrokeshire

Been waiting for food for 2 hrs not received now closed. Took money not refund me now had to order food from Chinese. Terrible service. No answer when trying to phone.

No idea what the food was like as didn't turn up. Booked at 5.30 to be delivered at 7. Hadn't arrived by 7.30 so cancelled order. Warning , do not pay in advance.

Absolutely abysmal food, which seems to have hit rock bottom. I remember ordering from Marble Hall in previous years, and always looked forward to it. Now in Nov 2021, portion sizes have decreased and the prices have risen. The chips were just a mushy mess in the paper wrapping, with the 'LARGE' cod being more like a small size, and wafer thin (see picture) The cod itself was dry, and batter was rock solid, which indicates it wasn't cooked fresh to order. Shame. Me and my wife usually share the large cod from here, as its more than enough for us, but now it seems like we would have to buy 2. (Although we will not be ordering again) All in all, a very disappointing visit, and definitely wouldn't recommend them. There are more cafes/chip shops around Milford Haven which serve better food with good portions so we'll be going there from now on.

Advised to allow 30 mins for delivery, took an hour and a half for just a large chips and 2 sausages. Really slow. Portions have gone smaller too. If your thinking of a chippy tea then collect it rather than have it delivered ir you might be having it for breakfast.

Waited over 1.5 hours for food to be delivered. I can forgive this during busy periods. However, drinks that had been ordered and paid for were missing and the loaded fries were swimming in grease. Not impressed. Usually much better quality from Marble Hall. Shame.

Ordered food for delivery- order never turned up!! Called twice and no response. Never had a problem with this chippy before, really disappointed.

Very generous portions of excellent quality chips. Well cooked, well graded, golden chips with very few blemishes or tiny crusty chip bits. I know that may sound weird but it does really bother me so I'm definitely a fan. The batter is light and crispy not atall soggy and the menu is huge and interesting. I know what I want if I'm going for a chippy tea so I haven't explored the menu and I probably won't but it does seem that they cater for every taste

Having grown up in the facility of the chippy since mid 60’s, I now believe the this chip shop has hit rock bottom, worst ever chips I have ever experienced world wide, having sampled a few bad ones. Visited here today, med chips or should I say clippings as the supposed chips, were potato scalppings, hard and inedible, and the sausage was burnt, tasting disgusting. The whole lot put in the bin. Total rubbish, had bad food in the past, but today I gave them the doubt, but they did not rise to the challenge. I will definitely not return, an will broadcast how terrible the the food is. HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED

Great food served by an extremely friendly team. Loaded fries a must. Cod bites are huge so if you have a small appetite ones enough 😁

Disgusting chippy, greasy as hell, always get mushy chips, better off going elsewhere. Everytime I get food from here I always regret it, I should know better by now!

Order was placed for 18.30 and arrived at 19.25 phoned the shop at 17.00 was told order was sent out at 18.30 delivery driver told me she had just picked it up i live within a mile all the items were cold had to put them in microwave to reheat so was not the same

we had two large cod and chips, delivered to where we were fishing last night, the fish were very large and cooked to perfection, batter very crispy, as was the fish cooked to perfection, the chips were fully cooked, delivery was there at 5pm as the time we ordered. well done Mable Hall Chippy

Love marble hall chippy and have gone here for years! Portions and prices are more than fair, food is delicious and staff are always friendly! Ps- highly recommend the festive fries- they are AMAZING!

Ordered a large fish and chips tonight, got it delivered. It was the smallest fish I’ve ever seen! My husband and I normally share a large and when I rang them to complain they said unfortunately due to their new suppliers that is the size of their large fish. I told them I dread to think what a small fish would look like!! The photo has a normal small phone next to it, my iPhone 11 was as big as the fish!

I used to love marble hall chippy however a few times the food hasn't been great.. Ordered food tonight and my fish was freezing not cooked the staff were apologetic. Not the same anymore!!

I've been a customer for a while and to be fair the food is generally good and portion sizes massive. However, the customer service and delivery is diabolical. First time we used the app to order food was a disaster. I ordered at 3 but specified on the order that we wanted our food at 6. I did this to give them sufficient time as I know it gets busy later. Our food arrived at 3.30, I explained to the delivery guy who apologised and promised to bring food at correct time. 6pm came and food arrived, unfortunately when we opened it, it was the wrong order. I was then unable to get them on the phone to complain. 40mins later driver returned, apologised and took food promising to bring food right back. 1 hour later our correct food arrived. The next time I decided to order by phone and again ordered at 3 for 6pm. 6.40 pm arrived and no food. Again we were again unable to get them on the phone so had to drive down to get our order. When we got back we found items missing so had to drive down again. These issues have left us with no confidence in Marble Hall Chippy. I have emailed them but they haven't had the courtesy to reply, hence my rant here.

Ordered online, disappointed to get a call at delivery time to say the driver hadn't turned up.However the nice young lady on the phone said the superviser would bring it out at her earliest convince and half an hour later the food arrived .Thankyou Marble Hall!! piping hot and delicious.Kevin Mount

Ordered Delivery of Fish and Chips 17.30, didn't get delivered until 19.05, I asked for order to be delivered as soon as possible,. Fish nearly always has bones left in it. I have had dried up fish, old recooked chips in the past. Tonight will be the last time I use the shop. It cost me £12.50 for 2 small fish and a large chips. It arrived luke warm along with a few large bones in the Fish, it is not difficult to remve the bones from cod beore it is cooked. This Chip used to be great I have no idea what has happened to it.

Phoned through an order for delivery, arrived on time. Food was great, ordered a few gluten free items and they all came separately packaged and labelled so no chance of cross contamination! My GF fish was lovely, really crispy batter and so tasty!All food really good and still piping hot, will definitely be returning very soon!

Having been a consumer of marble hall for many years, all I can say is they keep getting better. They’re always happy to adapt what’s on offer to suit you. Helpful and friendly staff. Plentiful portions and suitable prices. Popular with tourists too!

We regularly order from here since finding out they offer gluten free chips and they are the nicest chips in the county! They have a dedicated gluten free fryer and mark the GF chips clearly so you know which are yours! Portions are great as usual.

Never had a problem with the food I’ve ordered from here. During the recent pandemic we’ve had delivery 2 or 3 times and food is still excellent. Staff are friendly and inside the chippy is always clean.

Ordered a meal to be delivered for 5 people told it was going to take 30 minutes! Kept phoning back and they kept telling us it was the next order to go out on the end we waited 1 hour and 20 minutes!! Food was lukewarm had to microwave most of it!! gone quite expensive for cold food cost is £30

If they think you're a tourist they'll whack extra charges on. AVOID IF YOURE TOURISTSThe prices have rocketed in the last few years also. They forget stuff as bad as McDonald's do. Order is never complete.Used to be a lovely chip shop. Workers care more about their appearance than the food.I think they forget they're in the centre of a council estate and it's a chippy.There aren't many good chip shops in Pembrokeshire anyway but this one used to be the best.

I ordered fish and chips,pulled pork chips,and small chips,cheese curry sauce,and a red slush puppy,the lot went in the bin ! Yes even the slush puppy my son asked me to taste it,awful,I was nearly sick!! Chips soggy,fish I wouldn't call it fish lumb of soggy very thin batter. The smell on the pulled pork sure was gone off! Dont know what else to say.

Use to be a good chippy not anymore waited 1 hr 10 mins for cold soggy chips and was ment to be cod bites but it was just batter by far the worst meal ive ever eaten from a take away ended up giving it to the dog will never order from them again

Dehydrated inedible fish obviously cooked and kept under heat for a least an hour, soggy congealed chips Avoid at all costs there are far better alternatives available

I'm quite a picky eater and I don't usually like chip shops but this is delicious. The staff are always warm and welcoming, the food is speedy, they give you generous portions, the prices are reasonable and I adore their chicken.

Superb chips. Good range of choices of fried food's. Their home made fish cakes are lovely. Be warned, when you order "large chip's" we find it's enough for 3-4 people and we eat big.

I've been buying fish and chips from Marble hall for several years now, traveling across from Pembroke. The quality and quantity of the food has been in decline for a few months now, this is a widely held opinion amongst my friends, is it under new management??Today was the last straw, we won't be going again; my son popped in to get a jumbo sausage and large portion of chips (bear in mind that marble hall used to be famed for a large portion that could feed a family!), And what we got was the greasiest most insipid bag of over and at the same time under done (!!) Bag of part cooked potato I can remember having.Enough is enough. The Marble hall chip shop that used to bring people in from miles around is gone, what's left in its place isn't even a pale imitation.RIP Marble hall.

This use to be the best chippy due to the portions now under new management it takes along time for deliveries and the portions are small and food not that great dont go here anymore

Excellent food, but be warned the portions are enormous! Both the fish and chips were cooked to perfection.

Bone dry INEDIBLE chicken not even a pot of gravy could save it bitty chips a very VERY POOR meal to dish up to the paying public

Had fish and chips from this shop. Very disappointed with our food. Chips looked like they had been left over from lunchtime and re cooked again! Fish was ok, good size portions but the chips really let it all down 😞

The chip shop was refurbished last year and is now a first class Chippy. The menu range is amazing. And the prices very reasonable and all staff are great.

Fish came swimming in oil with soggy batter. The chips were awful....covered in black bits so the oil clearly needed changing. We threw most of them away. What a waste of money. Will not be going here again.

the worse fish every not cooked dry the batter raw and threw it away chipps okay but far to many and not £10 pound ? been going there for yrs but never again what a shame was looking forward to them .

Marble hall what have you done. The purchase of 2 x fish and small chip were dire and costly £10.05 to throw most into the waste. Last year they were great. The batter as can be seen was raw the fish dry and tasteless

On holiday near Milford Haven and was looking for a good chippy and found this one. Having read previous reviews it sounded good so chose to have a look. A very long queue always suggests it would be good and we were not disappointed. The menu is extensive (not just fish and chips) and cheaper than our local chippies back home.

If you go large on the fish be sure there are two of you to eat it as it is huuuuuuge. Can taste the freshness.

I’m originally from down here and visit quite a lot, came down from Cardiff to visit family and we came here to order food as my family ‘normally’ love it!

One of the best chippies I've been to, and I've been to a lot, staff excellent, very polite and friendly, me and my wife shared a large cod and chips which was absolutely huge, potatoes we were told grown just up the road in rosemarket, the kids had a pizza which they said they loved, highly recommend this place, thanks guys, we,ll be back soon.

going to rate this on how it usually is, its usually large lovley chips, i mean so big its enough to share between you all? my mam and dad share a tray of chips and fish bites because the fish bites are huge!, prices aint too bad, we usually love it here. however last time i went there i asked for chicken curry and chips, the girl was reaaally slow at doing our food i felt like i wanted to go behind the counter and do my own food. anyway finally got out of there asked my mam for my food, no joke it was in a tiny little childs meal box, i had hardly any chips at all my parents and boyfreind were laughing and gave me some of theirs. and NO chicken curry??? where was my chicken curry?? i had irish :( not what i wanted i was gutted! maybe the girl couldnt understand me ?

The food here is well worth the money, always get great portions and it's so busy here most nights, would say one of the best chip shops around

Great chip shop and the improvements are good. The staff are very friendly and the portions are huge and delicious. Warning don't go if you want to stick to your diet!!!

Its a first class fish and chip shop, its very clean, staff quick to serve you, very helpful, all their range of food is excellent,I use it frequently.

This place is amazing. I had the large cod which was really fresh and massive, my parents share one it is that big. You also get a load of chips too. Reasonably priced and very clean inside. A proper find and a go too chippy.

Good place if your hungry as portions are huge, tastey food, good value for money. A bit of waiting time if it's busy, the waiting area is not that big and if it is busy you have to wait out side, that's fine if it's not raining, up hey can't have it all, good job.

Lovely fish and chips and plenty of it. Can't go wrong. Large fish with large chips is definitely a challenge meal for best of us even with a big apetite.

Biggest portions and best value for money for miles! Try asking for 'large' chips 😆 And the large fish is a small whale. Well cooked crispy batter and excellent chips.

Great fresh fish, great selection on menu any enormous portions of chips. Great value! Well worth a visit. Seems to be open all day. Incredibly popular, always a good sign.

Like the other reviewers said, the portion sizes are ridiculously massive. A small chips is enough for two easily. Large fish is 13" long.

We have visited here several times and the portion of their food was amazing! You can just order a medium size and it will be enough for 4 people!!

This chippy has recently had a make over, it looks so much cleaner, fresher and it's a lot bigger. I have used this chippy for about 10years+ as it's always been good value for money but of late the chips have been very pale, soggy and greasy and portion sizes have dramatically decreased!

Very big chip portion's, one large chips is enough to feed three adults.

Generous portions of good quality fish and chips. Reasonable price. Only downside is it can get very busy so be prepared to queue.
