Manzil in Uttlesford

Waited two hours for delivery, after several attempts to ring to find out where our order is i finally got through. I was told it was on the pass. 20 min later and still no sign of my order. We will not be bothering to order from here again.

Takeaway only in an industrial estate but the food was great.

Utterly pathetic. Chicken Tikka that’s tastes of nothing but grease and a Vindaloo that tasted like chemical toilet cleaner, I would imagine, as I couldn’t think of anything else that would work as a metaphor. Do yourself a favour and get your food somewhere else, all of us hated it and there is nothing spoils your evening like a poor takeaway. Honestly, never mind not feeding this to my dog, I am convinced my dog could have cooked it better.

Good value for money, each dish would easily have fed two so we had plenty of food. Very flavoursome and despite the slight delay in delivering the food was still hot. Next time we visit family in Walden we will definitely use again

The man that delivered my food seemed to work at the restaurant, he was a very lovely man, gave me some top tips for ordering next time and the food had very generous portions, and arrived hot and early with an extra garlic naan thrown in there!! Will definitely be getting again.

I have had chicken tikka masala religiously for a number of orders and until tonight it had been perfect. Tonight it was a different colour, tasted alright but was very runny. I will order again but if I get the same again it might be my last. Delivery was good left at door no interaction needed.

The food is nice but I'm fed up of the delivery driver aggressively telling me to order direct from them rather than via JustEat. Also the food hygiene rating requires improvement, I'd expect them to focus on this and make improvements before I ever consider ordering from them again.

The food was meant to be ready to collect at 5.45, then when ordered the time changed to 6pm. Collection was fine but the food was not nice. Far too sweet and salty curries and side dishes, horribly over cooked onion bhajis. Really wouldn’t recommend, not a nice takeaway.

One of my favourite Indian takeaways in Saffron Walden and surrounding villages. The portions are quite big so I find the food good value for money. The curries have the right texture for me. I recommend the Tawa Chicken, Chicken Tikka Madras and Egg Fried Rice.

We ordered 2 Bombay potatoes and 1 sag aloo which had next to no taste at all. We were highly disappointed in the dryness of the Bombay potatoes which had no flavour to them. The sag aloo was boring, not a lot of flavour. The onion bahjis were over cooked and very crunchy, we were expecting 2 large bahjis but were given a bag of 5 small balls which was disappointing. I wouldn’t order from here again unfortunately

Tasted fresh but overall was a bit bland. Understand that they're trying to cook for the British palate but I prefer Indian Food the authentic way. Otherwise delivery and service where good.

I left a note to not ring doorbell or wait - which was ignored. Otherwise food was good albeit 15mins late but that is fine.

The food was excellent and the man who called me from the restaurant was very respectful asking me where the front door was. But the driver appeared to be very agitated about not being able to get into contact with my phone, apparently something to do with the just eat app saying my phone is no longer in service (which makes no sense because the restaurant called me with no issue) He proceeded to tell me I must order directly with the restaurant, I use just eat because it easier for me personally and I am aware I call call the restaurant directly to order. Nothing bad to say against the food it was warm and very good, just not a good customer interaction at all.

We had a takeaway. We had the chicken rogan Josh, tarka Dahl, white rice, plain naan and popadoms. They were delicious and hot. Service was great, delivery was early and the delivery man was very friendly. Would definitely order from Manzil again.

Very poor, the curries were swimming with grease. The chicken was dry, the potatoes were undercooked and the salad had been made up for some time as it had gone dry. The riata has also been made up for some time as the cucumber had bled out all its water and began composing in the yogurt which was clearly off. They also forgot to deliver the naan bread with the balti meal so I had to call direct to ask for it to be delivered. By which time the rest of the meal was cold. Very very VERY poor. Extremely unhappy with my entire order. Boarder line disgusted

sadly went cold really quickly, raita not that nice and no poppadum even though i ordered one. i didn't use the restaurant service but had to give starts in order to submit this

Fantastic food, I was pleasantly surprised, everything tasted fresh and cooked to order as opposed to some other takeaways. Would recommend everyone to give them a try atleast once as I think it's the best takeaway curry in the area 👍

Quite simply the best Indian we have ever had. Fast delivery which was great for us. A happy delivery man which made a change. The meal was hot and absolutely tasty and delicious. Will definitely be ordering again.

Flavourless food, very uninspiring. One of the worst takeaway meals I’ve ever had.

I ordered at 7 and the food didn’t arrive until 8.40 which was a very long wait. Food was lovely not too greasy, the starter was lovely, amazing onion bhajis. I found the Balti and sag aloo a little bland but that’s just me being picky. Overall very happy.

The world is on lockdown, so delivery food is a real treat. And for that reason I dont want to give these guys a low score. And to be fair, ordering online was easy, delivery was quick and food was hot. And my wife seemed to like her Lamb Tikka. But I got the worst chicken tikka madras I have ever tasted - very bitter, and very brown. Won’t be ordering from here again

Tasted great, was ready for me as soon as I walked in, and was still nice and warm once I’d got it home... the madras could’ve been spicier though...

The some of the food was lovely and some just lacked a bit of punch. But overall it was fine. We’ve had many meals from you and this has not been as good as the others. I would also like to request that the delivery person stops advising us to order over the phone rather than on the app. I appreciate the advice but I am happy to pay a little more to not to have to speak to anyone... for no reason other than after a hard days work I’d rather just remain silent and hidden. So thank you, I hear you, but I choose to use the app to order my food...

Lovely flavours, nice and hot.

Food arrived late and 3/4’s if it was stone cold. Didn’t bother ringing as it was already late into the evening but rest assured I will not be ordering again. Avoid if you can folks and find another curry house. I took a chance on this one but will stick to my regular.

Food was nice and warm and well cooked however the naan was plain and not garlic like we ordered and the curry pots had leaked in the bag so the bag split and made the currys mix into each other

Recently got food from here, it arrived on time but when it arrived we opened the popadoms and we ordered 2 and got a crushed up one that looked like someone took a bite out of it. We ordered 2 naans and only got 1? And the most disgusting part was I saw what looked like a booger in the rice. No wonder this has a 2 star food hygiene rating. Do not get this if you want indian try somewhere else.

I have tried all the curry houses in Saffron Walden and for the first time the other day we decided to give Manzil a go. So pleased we did and can honestly say it is the best by far. The butter chicken, in particular, was excellent! :)

Ordered yesterday through JustEat and had a not-so-amazing experience. Had a knock on my door this evening from a very friendly and polite delivery driver who apologised for the previous day and handed me a replacement order for free. Absolutely amazing customer service! Will not hold a grudge - everyone has off days and makes mistakes, it's how they handle them that matters. Thank you very much to Manzil. Will order again soon!

Take away took over 2 hours delivered when we were told it would be 1 hour. They had our number but didn’t call to say would be later. When we called after an hour were told it wouldn’t be long. No discount offeee at all. Will not be ordering from again

Bland food, chicken tasted cheap and watery.

Recommended if you are feeling like Indian, but don't want to go out. Great food at good prices, very courteous on phone and when delivering.

Great quality food. Manzil have their own website, but ordering means using the OrderInn website. This is a clumsy website to use and nowhere near as quick and easy as ordering via Just eat.

Food was amazing, beautiful flavours and plenty some. Food was hot and fresh. Vegetables and breads were fresh.

Food was bland. One of the dishes was wrong and they refused to give me a refund, said they would give it to me for free in my next order but I don't want to order from them again.

Forgot poppadom, salad was old & brown & rest of the food was wrank.

It was the only place in the area that was open before 5:30pm, and the delivery was listed as 6:30pm, but food arrived at 6:10pm which is incredible! Never hear of delivery turning up early! On the down side, the chicken korma was a little under-flavoured, not a great amount of coconut could be tasted, and had a rather unplaceable aftertaste. The sag aloo was a similar story, almost tasted watered down, lacked flavour again. Chicken tikka masala was okay overall, the fruit and nuts in the sauce were a little confusing, but this might just be due to changing usual restaurants! Keema naan was reasonable, but again the flavours were not entirely there. Overall, it wasn't the worst Indian takeaway I have ever had, but it was still a fair distance from being the best for the price. Delivery times are stunning and if you are desperate for a curry before 5:30pm, I see this being your best choice.

Cracking chicken tikka masala! Everything you want - smoky, sweet, spicy and coconutty. We asked for it extra hot and it was perfectly balanced. Did ask for garlic naan but got plain, still, the naan was top notch too! Highly recommend this little place.

Arrived over an hour early, but delivery driver took it back. Re-delivered on time: hot and fresh!

We decided to try Manzil takeaway for a change and were not disappointed. Portion sizes are very generous and everyone enjoyed their dishes. I went for the chicken tikka biryani which was great and had a bit of a kick to it too. The staff on the phone were friendly and food was made and collected within 25 minutes of ringing. I have now found a new favourite local indian takeaway!

Extremely quick delivery. Food was nice, hot and tasty, but it was not good enough for me to change from my normal Take Away (which is slightly cheaper).

I ordered my takeaway at 6:30 pm and it didn't arrive until about 8:30. It was stone cold and i actually just threw the whole lot away! I left my number with just eat and told you to call me if you got lost so i don't understand how you managed to mess up so badly. I would like to be contacted by a manager please as i do not expect to have to pay for such a poor service.

Food great but for the second time running items missing

Having done the rounds on take aways in and around the town we have finally settled on the Manzil. Has proven to be very reliable and accommodating, happily making a dish a little less hot for example. Highly recommend

Best takeaway in Saffron Walden and the surrounding area. The food is tasty, arrives hot, and the portion sizes are good enough to allow you to enjoy most their curries the next day as well.

Told 45 mins for delivery, took well over 2 hours! Don't know what they did to the food but it tasted of soap. Inedible and very disappointing. Don't use them. If you want good Indian food there are better options in Saffron Walden.

50mins late not good enough really they should inform the app I would order from else where
