The manager was super nice. We were quite tight for time and had to take away the food and he gave us the coffee on the house, which also tasted great.

Probably one of the worst food experience ever had in London, especially when comparing the actual results to the expectations dictated by misleading photographs and unrealistic marketing promotions. The venue is rather small (some might say cosy) yet the extraction system is totally absent, pregnating the place with an old fried fish smell which immediately attack your clothes (unfortunately there is no physical separation between the kitchen and the sitting area and with no extraction the situation is unbearable). The menu is pretentious and unrealistic, causing once again incredible disappointment: the starters were less than impressive (A. three frozen prawns served half raw on a bunch of raw spinach leaves and B. a couple of beetroot slices on a bed of yogurt). The mains were less than mediocre: A. a dry fish fillet and B. what I could consider the chewiest, toughest piece of meat ever served, nearly impossible to swallow (thankfully served with some chips that made my life a bit less sad). The meat cooking was pretty rare even though I specifically asked for medium. The chimichurry sauce was overpowering and overfilled with garlic. As for dessert my friend wanted to try the tart with peanut butter: to our surprise there was a ball (as big as a large icecream scoop) of peanut butter thrown on top of an extra sugary chocolate tart (my friend had to stop eating it and ask to take it away as she didn't want to offend the owner). Last but not least is the price: Manuka's range is shown as £20-£30 per person (that should be the average of course) yet each main costs more than £20 alone. I shall not describe the state of the kitchen (seen while accessing the toilet) as it would take me another full paragraph. It goes without saying I won't be going back soon and I strongly advice others to avoid it too. I'm truly sorry this was harsh but it was so bad I couldn't stay silent...

19/10/24 I had high hopes for this restaurant, especially as it was booked for a special anniversary. Unfortunately, they canceled our original reservation just an hour beforehand, citing a gas issue—certainly not their fault, but incredibly inconvenient given the occasion. They did apologise and promised a complimentary bottle of wine for our next visit, which I thought was a nice gesture. However, when we rebooked and went, the experience was frustrating from the start. It took over 25 minutes just to get a drink, and there was confusion over our voucher. To make matters worse, they flatly denied ever offering the complimentary bottle of wine, making us feel as though we were somehow in the wrong. It was embarrassing and left us feeling disrespected. While the food itself was excellent, the service was shockingly slow, especially considering there were only a few other tables. Offering an apology with a complimentary gesture and then refusing to honour it is, in my view, unacceptably poor service. The experience, unfortunately, marred what should have been a memorable celebration.

My wife and I ate here 8pm on Thursday evening and I was worried as we were the only customers in the restaurant. My concern was quickly quashed on the arrival of my starter of perfectly grilled prawns. This was followed by both superb mains of the market fish (hake) and pork belly, both were again perfectly cooked and lovely flavours. Service was equally lovely. Please visit this restaurant, you will not be disappointed.

What a lovely neighbourhood gem! We thought we'd give this place a try because it appeared as if it had gone through a refurbishment. It looked very inviting. From the moment we arrived to when we left, the service was attentive, friendly & polite...almost like we had arrived at a friend's home for dinner! The menu had enough choices. Cocktails & wines were good. We really enjoyed our Wagyu beef bolognese pasta and Bavette steak - delicious & cooked to perfection! The Chocolate & pretzel tart was decadent! We will most certainly be eating there again, by ourselves & also with family & friends.

Manuka Kitchen is such a cosy spot, perfect for a laid back brunch. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it ideal for a relaxed meal with friends or family. We absolutely loved their fresh juices, they were vibrant and bursting with flavour, a great start to our meal. The honey duck and waffle is a must-try; the duck was perfectly cooked, and the subtle sweetness of the honey complemented the dish beautifully. We also indulged in their French toast, which was delightfully fluffy and had just the right amount of sweetness. Overall, if you’re looking for a place with delicious food and a charming vibe, Manuka Kitchen is a great choice.

Amazing little brunch place. I had the watermelon lime juice and the duck leg with egg and waffle, and my husband had the garden scramble with a strawberry iced tea. The duck was cooked and seasoned perfectly, the juice had clearly been made from scratch, the strawberry iced tea was to die for, and my husband said that his scrambled eggs were perfectly fluffy and creamy, delicious, and with the best feta cheese he’s ever had so far. The server was extremely friendly and the service was prompt. The prices were absolutely reasonable for the quality of the food we got. Highly recommended! Half the reason I’m even making this review is so I remember to come back to it if/when we revisit London in the future!

I so desperately wanted to give this 5 stars but unfortunately I couldn't quite. The service was great and the food was overall very good. There were just a number of small issues that would have been fine individually but all together were a bit much, no printed menus, only three red wines none of which were great (due to supply issues), and inconsistently cooked steak (which they were happy to rectify), the waffle from the duck and waffle was rather overcooked and the "pretzel" chocolate dessert had nothing even marginally related to a pretzel beyond salt. I want to stress that these were minor, the steak was still delicious and the duck still tasty but all of these issues at once was just excessive.

Delightful food - pierogi, duck, golonka and soups all delicious. Unique ambience with a definite element of stepping back in time. One of West London's hidden gems.
