Manor Farm in St. Helens

Came with my dog on Sunday. Really dog friendly and my pooch loved it. Food was really good and reasonably priced too! Will be back especially in summer where we can take advantage of the beer garden!

Food piping hot. Burgers were so tasty. Staff are always always so friendly. We didn’t wait long at all. Looking forward to next visit.

Called in for an evening meal while staying in the area. Staff friendly and helpful and food on parr with usual pub menus. Good selection. We had cheesy garlic bread starters and followed by hunters chicken. Very tasty chicken only down side was side salad which only consisted of lettuce, would have been better without it.

The customer service from Tas was fabulous, he arranged a taxi for a wheelchair user and her two daughters after they waited a very long time , for a taxi, we were so impressed with Tas we thanked him and had another drink instead of going home.

Tas was on shift whilst an emergency naturally occured where a wheelchair user required a taxi to go home to her carm home , two hours lapsed and we approached tas who took time to find a service to accommodate the person , he organised the taxi , ensuring the person and family were on their way safely and happy, this is far beyond customer service which was utterly wonderful 👍👍👍 WELL DONE TAS WE NEED MORE OF YOU IN OUR COMMUNITY, WELL DONE 👍

Really nice atmosphere inside, nice welcoming by all staff and the place is very cosy. We made a late booking on a Sunday for 5 + the dog, The staff worked hard to get us in and made sure we were comfortable. Food was enjoyed by us all, and we were all relaxed eating, will definitely return soon - very patient and friendly with dogs, thanks for a lovely afternoon.

Always loved coming the manor been popping in for years and the food has always been nice but yesterday I don't know what happened, everything was awful, I got chicken tikka masala it was so thick like glue like it had been sat there all day all dry bits in it and couldn't even cut the chicken, the chips were awful tasted of old oil and over cooked, mum's lasagna was very bland and oily I sent mine back and got the pie instead and this was even worse, like it wasn't cooked through raw pastry very pale I left everything but didn't want to cause a fuss and ask for money back probably won't come again for good

We were in a room upstairs. Nothing was too much trouble for the lovely staff . The setting was great . The buffet was plentiful and delicious but best of all, the freshly battered fish , with secret recipe batter was as good as I’ve ever had . It was delicious. Thankyou .

Iv always loved this little pub. My daughter and I just wanted a small meal so we opted for the baked potato. The side salad looked amazing. I was really disappointed. The leaves on the salad were actually wilting and a couple of pieces of cucumber. I showed the lady what should have been on the salad . She said sorry and came back with the food that was missing . Can’t believe it was acceptable to serve a salad like that

We celebrated my mums 75th birthday at the manor farm. The food is good quality - but the star of the show there is the service and how much they care about your experience. Thanks for a lovely evening!

Nice chilled atmosphere, good service (with allergy awareness too). Mixed grill was absolutely delicious. Crispy, fluffy, red hot chips, perfectly cooked gammon, chicken, egg and sausages. Asked for medium rare steak and that's what we got. Not a rubbish cut of steak, melt in the mouth delicious. Sadly not many chefs about in pubs who cook your steak like you asked for but they do at the mf. Whopper portions too, I can't even manage a dessert! Very capable staff. Very highly recommended place and we will definitely come back.

Lovely festive atmosphere in a beautiful old world pub

Told part of my meal was not available but still got charged full price. Tried to explain to the kid behind the bar that paying for something you have not got was not right, so could something else be substituted for the missing part. No, the computer says no! All my queries were met with a "I'll see what I can do." But nothing was done! Would highly recommend getting some professional adults to serve. Lack of understanding and lack of interest in myself as a customer. Sorry but I won't visit again.

We had a party in the conservatory and it was great. Andy, Carol and all the staff were friendly and helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. Everyone commented and on how good the buffet was too. Homemade and delicious. One minor point was that it could have more heat in some areas of the conservatory. Would definitely recommend. An old pub with character, tasty food and good sized portions. Background music was slightly too loud in my opinion. Overall a nice local pub, glad to have it nearby.

Really disappointing. Decided to give the Sunday roast a try and wish we hadn't bothered. Stone cold veg (inedible broccoli mush), 2 small roasties, half a flat cold yorkshire pudding, lumpy watery mash and greasy thin gravy. Can't fault the generous portion of meat given but it didn't make up for the poor standard of everything else. Drinks were nice but very expensive. Sons rocky road dessert was also a let down. Such a shame this pub isn't what it used to be. We go back every 3-4 months in the hope it will be back to it's former glory but leave disappointed every time.

Popped here while staying at premier inn up the road. Great looking building. Lovely interior. Staff friendly & pleasant. Drinks reasonably priced. Good outdoor area. Definitely nipping here again when back in the area.

Slow service (short staffed?) The sandwich both weren't very nice. The macromi cheese was good apparently. Nice inside decor.

Easy booking online. Ended up slightly late due to train delays from work and the kitchen reopened for us. Excellent customer service. Fantastic atmosphere. Gorgeous building.

Great Sunday lunch at the Manor Farm today. Quality and portions - can't fault. Visited again yesterday and no reason to change my earlier rating, couldn't fault.

It was ok. Food was ok. There's probably better value in the village. Mix up with table reservations didn't help

Went last night to a birthday party, great atmosphere, there was a hot and cold buffet which was delicious, as my sister struggles a little with stairs the fantastic barmaid ( I'm so sorry I cant remember her name ) looked after us all night she was an absolute diamond, fab place

We visited yesterday for lunch, lovely food, relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. Historic building with resident spooks, surrounded by greenery outside and lots of seating. It isn’t just a pub, it’s got its own energy. Love this place. We will be back soon.

Had a lovely meal here. The pub has a good atmosphere not too busy and a gorgeous big outside area to enjoy the sunny days.

Booked with Manor Farm for my sons Christening, on arrival we were given our own room with plenty of seats for all the guests and was provided with a big speaker to play our own music. The room was lovely and clean and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was brilliant and I definitely recommend the cocktails. The outside of the pub is also great for children with a childrens play area and slide. This kept all the kids entertained. Overall Manor Farm is a lovely pub and we will definitely be booking again in the future. Thanks again for such great service.

We had a private event yesterday at the pub, the staff were great and very accommodating. Great food, service and a wonderful day all round. We even went back the next day for a roast!

Not the best. 3 meals ordered and 3 desserts. The fish and chips was all batter . Scampi passable but 7chips on the plate prob 4 were edible. Had to ask 3 times for the desserts that had to be ordered with main to get the lunch time deal . Will not be visiting again . Only plus to visit was it was a nice day and sat outside .

We have consitently tried this place over and over again every 6 months or so and have been disappointed every time. Such a shame, a lovely pub in a very pleasant setting, just poorly run. The bar and restaurant needs to be better stocked, the service needs to improve and the food needs to be a lot better. The burgers were the only satisfsctory thing we ordered in a large group. The chips were also rock hard. Hope this review helps as it could be so much better.

Went for food on Saturday 13th July I asked for the mixed grill big mistake I also asked for a peppercorn sauce a side order of onion rings and a salad when the food arrived I noticed only two mushrooms on my plate the peas were all shrivelled as they had been in microwave for to long.The fried egg was over cooked I asked for the steak well done it was medium rare the gammon was tough and salty also the chicken breast was dry and stringy and the onion rings were over cooked I would not recommend this pub to anyone for food and when I spoke to the manageress I never even got an apology.

We had the mixed grill and the meat was dry, we asked for well done steak and it was medium/rare, I had 1 mushroom on my plate, in my opinion I wouldn't recommend the food from this experience 👎👎 The owner has responded saying if you cook steak well done it will dry out !! They obviously havn't read the review properly, we asked for steak to be well done and it wasn't, so how can it dry out !! It was the gammon and chicken that where dry as a bone as we explained on the night, we actually spoke to the owner. We couldn't get the attention of any staff as there wasn't enough staff serving and as the meal was near on £20 I wasn't willing to just leave it.

Efficient service good food and atmosphere

Got a mix grill wasn't the cheapest mix grill everything cook in the deep fat fryer sent it back wasn't happy the brought it back out just as bad as I sent it back worst food ever that I've I've had never returning again live local and shame would of gone more offen

Very disappointed with both the service and food. Appeared to not be enough staff, as there was a private function on. Waited patiently for starters and just one arrived. We let that go and requested the other come with our main course. We waited another 35 minutes. Even the bar staff seemed quite embarrassed. The mixed grill was very poor quality, sausages were burnt, steak was small and tasteless. The onion rings were dried up and well done. The scampi was hard and appeared to have been under a heater. We did complain and received an apology and was told it was there fault as the chef had to leave. Really poor service

Had the steak today. One small onion ring, one tiny tomato cut in half, a lot of peas, 4 of the tiniest mushrooms ever. Very dry chips and tasteless, small steak. The others I was with enjoyed their meals, but mine was not good at all. The table was also sticky to the touch.

Had lunch meal starter was ok waited a week 4 main was going 2 go home an get my mattress fish was well overdone like it had been under a heat lamp 2 long I’ll stick 2 chippie now on

I was not happy with meals got for me and my friend the fish was hard and burnt and we finly got the batter off the fish was so dry the only thing at was about the meal was chip's

Attended a reception here with a hot and cold buffet which was excellent

Table booked for 3.30 for Sunday lunch. Arrived on time very busy. We were shown to our table. Really looking forward to Sunday lunch as recommended, Choose food beef Sunday lunch. Back to the bar waiting to be served. Finally served put orders in. Staff member no more Sunday lunch left. So we left very disappointed. Travelling to the pub then home no Sunday lunch.

I've been for Sunday lunch a few times and recommend thie establishment to a long time friend for a catch up, outstanding service great food brilliant atmosphere all in all simple great service and a delicious meal. I'd recommend this to any family, its even dog friendly few and far between these days. Excellent evening thsnk you to the manner farm manager and staff.

We ended up at the Manor Farm on the way to a fashion show at Tower College (in aid of the Adam Ellison Foundation). It was "Steak Thursday" - but the sirloin was sold out by 17:30... Not to worry, we had the rump instead, and it was... *gorgeous*. We enjoyed it enough to add it to our list of establishments to visit regularly, and we're quite picky about quality.

We had heard about the new owners putting on their own Sunday lunch. It was worth the wait! Tender beef, home made yorkshires, crispy roast potatoes, beautiful gravy. It was miles apart from the usual chain Sunday dinner you can get. My only issue was that my eyes were bigger than my belly and I needed a walk around the block ! My daughter had the turkey and equally enjoyed it. Well done to the landlords - fantastic

Lewis the barman and waiter was very polite ,friendly and service was good. Food was nice for everyone except the chilli chicken kebab on flatbread wasn't hot but still nice .

New landlords are putting their heart and soul into bringing the Manor Farm back to life. Fabulous Sunday lunch, spotlessly clean, each and every member of staff deserves credit for the lovely friendly atmosphere created. Please support local & give them a try. Lots of upcoming events to look forward to as well or just a chilled drink or two either inside or in the large well kept garden.

Amazing pub great food and excellent service

We received a 30% voucher so we thought we would try the restaurant. My husband ordered the pie which was mostly pastry and it came with very watery gravy. I ordered a chicken burger which also came with very watery gravy?!? Not sure if that was a mistake. Sadly,it was very dry. My son enjoyed his burger but not his chocolate fudge cake or the ice-cream that came with it- it was so frozen it didn't even melt on the warmed desert. On the plus side, the service was very quick and the staff were very good.

Absolutely amazing service on one of the most busiest days of the year. We attended today for mothers day with a family of 10 and honestly couldnt fault a thing. Service was absolutely outstanding, food was amazing and all staff were really polite, helpful and so welcoming. I would 1000% recommend!
