Manolya in East Hertfordshire

First time here and what a great place, food was lovely and plentiful, both waitresses were brilliant, well done.

A lovely meal, I can’t fault it. I had the mixed kebab which was delicious. I have coeliac disease which was catered for superbly, swapping the gluten containing rice for a tasty potato side. My wife loved the complimentary bread which she said was one of the best breads she had tasted.

Wonderful food service was brilliant can't find any faults we will be back soon xx please support your local restaurants they so deserve it x

We were very pleased to find that this restaurant's standards in every area of what a good restaurant should be were very much still in place. Excellet staff, excellent food and a lively atmosphere. They are now offering at two course lunch at a very reasonable price.

We’re frequent visitors to Manolya, either for takeaways or for meals with family and friends. The food is always excellent, authentic and tasty, well priced and the friendly family service is superb. We always feel incredibly welcome and well looked after. Do give the restaurant a try, you won’t be disappointed!

My husband and I get Manolya takeaway all the time, it’s our absolute favourite and the food is delicious every single time! The best restaurant and takeaway in Ware and beyond.

We used to live in ware and were regulars who frequently went for an early dinner. Since moving 1hr 40 mins away we haven't been back to ware until tonight. We were in the local area visiting family and decided to see if they could squeeze us in for an early dinner. On arrival we were so happy to see the restaurant busy and were greeted by the owner like family which was lovely. We went straight in for mains for my husband he had the chicken and lamb shish and for myself hallomi, rice and salad. Honestly it was even better than we remembered. The food was outstanding, fresh and cooked perfectly! The salad was delicious and if salad tasted like this all the time I would eat it everyday. The restaurant is clean, welcoming and outstanding food. The chilli sauce is unreal which is all home made. Everything was perfect and I'm so happy that whilst we were there more and more people came in for dinner which is fantastic to see given the current climate. If you are looking for a family run, welcoming restaurant with excellent food look no further. You will not find a better restaurant! Thank you and we will now make the trip down more frequently as its worth it!! Thank you to all of the staff.

My third visit to Manolya, although I don't live in England, I'm visiting family. Impossible to fault this place. The staff are super friendly, attentive and professional. The food is exquisite and delicious and beautifully presented. It's a family run place and I had very enjoyable conversations with the owners about kids and grandkids etc. It's a restaurant that just makes you want to go back again soon, because of the 'feel good' factor, which IMO, is a fairly good measure of quality. I'll be back visiting my daughter, son in law and grandson very shortly, and Manolya will be a definite 'must have' night out when I'm in Ware.

Mus and the team catered our wedding party and delivered locally at our venue. The food was absolutely amazing, so many guests we’re complementing it :) Mus was fantastic at helping us decide what we needed for the amount of guests and ensured there was delightful vegan food too! He didn’t over estimate it either, we had minimal leftovers and everyone was well fed. The team were really fantastic and the food is delicious :)

Its very well supported by the locals and the atmosphere is lively. The staff are very friendly and helpful and offering us very good attentive service. The menu is varid and interesting with very good food presentation. All our dishes were excellent.

We went on a Friday evening. Staff were very attentive and helped with what to pick on the menu. Food was very tasty and at a good price. We took our pudding home as a take away as we were so full! We will definitely be returning.

No atmosphere, overpriced and £30 service charge added. Food was very average and not worth the prices. There’s no atmosphere at all and the owner sat at a table watching us eat our whole meal. We Felt quite uncomfortable. The dark haired waitress was lovely and helpful, but we wouldn’t return. Bill was over £300 and they then added a £30 service charge. Asked for it to be removed as it’s down to the customer if they want to leave a tip, not be told how much to tip.

We wanted dinner during a Sunday afternoon visit to the delightful town of Ware. Whilst we could have gone with the tried and trusted franchises, we are glad that we tried this Turkish magnolia restaurant! My wife had lamb guvec (cubes of lamb, mushrooms, sweet peppers, onions & tomato sauce topped with fried aubergines served with rice) while I had incik (oven cooked lamb shank, baby potatoes, broccoli & carrots served with rice). Both very good and the service was helpful and friendly.

We absolutely love this restaurant. The food is always superb and generous whether eating in or takeaway. The staff are friendly, attentive and kind. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Food was amazing as usual. A take away for 14 and amazing. Not the first time we have done this and it wont be the last. My husband wont go out at the moment so to have it delivered for a family gathering is amazing....

Had the house doner (yuk) and it was so bland. Didnt feel at all well all night. Service was so so, nothing special. Not as friendly as a lot of reviews state. To cap it all a cheeky (non deserved ) tip of 10% added...

This restaurant had no atmosphere , we had a very long wait for food , had to ask several times for out cold starter as they were so busy with takeaways !! Wouldn’t bother to go again!!! Food average .

Before you even order your food you are welcomed by the family to their restaurant like old friends. Such a warm & friendly atmosphere. The food is amazing with lots of dishes to choose from. Well worth a visit, very reasonable prices too.

Had a few takeaways from this lovely restaurant during lockdown. Order always on time to collect, piping hot and served with a good portion of salad, bread and dips. They keep going with a smile on their faces, very reasonably priced too.

We had a lovely evening with a couple of friends. Food was excellent (especially the starter platters and Yogurtlu Adana). Desserts were also very tasty - and not too huge! Friendly and helpful staff made for a good atmosphere. Will definitely go again.

Excellent takeaway service and amazing food. We were given loads of additional extras and the food was beautifully cooked, very fresh and tasty. The complimentary baklava was an added bonus! Will definitely try the restaurant in person soon.

We ended up here after another restaurant couldn't seat us. So happy they couldn't. The service was very friendly and relaxed. The food was extent tasty and came to the table very hot and speedily. The mixed kebab with rice and salad was very filling....

We love this place ! Great food - try some of the starters, lots to choose from. Meat always good. Great chilli sauce (optional) if you like spicy ! Everything feels like it has just been freshly prepared for you and that includes the lovely salads. I have lived in London most of my life and ate in lots of Turkish restaurants. I can only think of one which was as good.

We have been to this restaurant on a regular basis for a number of years now. We have always found the food to be excellent, as has been the service. The bread is especially nice. There is a wide variety of food on offer and the owners will cater for vegetarian and vegan, and cook to order to satisfy their needs.The atmosphere is good and it is suited to all ages, including families and young children. We would say to allow around an average of £15 per head for a lovely two course meal.

At £13 for a donner kebab, we were expecting something better than a high street kebab house. But as we began to eat we failed to see the difference, apart from the place being cleaner. The dishes weren't bad, but were ordinary. The chicken kebab was dry, overcooked and flavourless. As a lover of baklava, I was looking forward to desert, but my first bite was unpleasant. I couldn't put my finger as to why, until my wife (who makes baklava) tried it and told me it was far from fresh as the butter inside was stale and turning rancid. For those who haven't eaten this type of food before, they will find the cuisine interesting so we would recommend you try another place. We have eaten in Turkish restaurants before and this was the worst one we've tried. To top it all off, the waiter/owner was rude and service charge was a mandatory part of the bill. That should tell you all you need to know.

A great evening at a very busy restaurant. A long wait for the food but free drinks offered while we waited.

Haven't visited this restaurant for a while and I am always sorry that I don't come here more often!I visited on a Friday night with my boyfriend. We were seated quickly and given menus. Once we had our order taken, a lovely fresh salad with bread was brought out, which we enjoyed with our glass of wine. My boyfriend ordered the lamb shank and I had the chicken wings. Both were presented beautifully and tasted amazing (see photos). This restaurant never disappoints. I will be back again!

Four of us originally booked to have a meal in a Spanish Reastaurant in Ware when we wanted to add one more person we were told they couldn't accommodate an extra person. As we were wondering where to eat we stumbled accross Manolya Restaurant. We were greated with the owner's wife who gave us perfect service from the minute we walked in. Food was fresh, delicious and very tasty. Fantastic restaurant we hope to visit again.

We were two parents who desperately wanted to have a nice dinner out but had an incredibly tired child with them. The lady noticed that my son was only interested in eating cucumber and brought another plate over. This is the second time I have been here and received the best service and quality of food both times. I will come here time and time again.

I have been here several times and always enjoyed it. I recently visited with friends and tried a dish the hostess/ lady owner recommend Lamb Guvek and it was sublime.We had a reasonably priced Malbec, excellent service and a lovely atmosphere. An open kitchen with very high standards.

The first time we tried to eat here, it was full. (We did go on the off chance.)

We were instantly charmed by the friendly and helpful staff, who when they couldn’t initially fit us in as walk-ins, took our number and called us within 30 minutes when a table became free.

My wife and I convinced my brother and sister-in-law to accompany us to this restaurant to try Turkish food for the first time. The lamb shank was out of this world. We had a starter plate with hummus and other flavors of spreads on fresh bread sticks. The vegetarian moussaka was also very good. The owners were most hospitable and helpful.

I was swayed by the reviews to visit this restaurant. I found the food average, nothing particulary special. Mostly keebab on a plate. I ordered the mixed and found it somewhat chewy in places. Maybe I visited on an off day considering the reviews on here.

Visited here on Saturday for the first time. Food was lovely and loved the family feel of the place. Very warm welcome and service was perfect. Will return.

Just had a wonderful meal here tonight. I am Coeliac and have to eat Gluten Free. All the meat dishes are made without gluten so since being diagnosed for the first time I could have doner kebab and it was delicious. The staff were attentive to my needs and made a separate potato dish as I couldn’t have the rice or fries. The atmosphere of the restaurant was friendly and you could see regulars were returning. I hope to be one too.

Thé owners and staff are warm and welcoming, the dishes taste fresh and delicious, portions are generous, lovely dining experience.

This little restaurant is a real gem and long may it last. The menu choices are wide and cater for all tastes and the food is cooked fresh - the doner is certainly fresh every day and it is not greasy or fatty like so many others. The kebabs whether lamb or chicken are succulent and tasty and the rice is so amazing and apparently a family secret that has been handed down and you can't buy this type of rice anywhere! It is always perfect. The turkish coffee is 'for real' and the house wine is excellent.

My partner and I have eaten here a few times and enjoyed the food so much we have since taken both family and friends. The menu has a great selection and each dish we have tried we have enjoyed. Staff have always been very friendly & you're never rushed.

Always good food and great service. Been here over ten times and never had one bad meal only average meal I had here was the quail which was a bit chewy, but can’t go wrong with anything else on the menu lamb dishes and mixed kebab always spot on.

I have been to this restaurant many times and have always had wonderful food no matter what I order, I first visited this restaurant when I ate meat and now I’m a vegetarian and the food options are delicious, and not just a boring salad. Also the staff are friendly and genuine.

Visited here for the first time with friends after reading about the good reviews. So there was 5 of us in the group. Starters came up that was ok although the sharing Meze was very small in comparison to others we have had. One of the waitresses knocked over our ice bucket with the bottle of wine in it...wasn’t impressed about that. Then our mains arrived all by one. They had actually forgot a chicken tava. The waitress said sorry but went on to say it would be 30 mins before one would be ready but he could have a chicken shish instead which will take 15 mins to cook!! She went on to say it would be taken off the bill but to be honest it had ruined the evening. We settled for the chicken shish which came in 5 mins or so...I’m guessing this might have been somebody else’s dinner. The thing is when you want a particular food that’s what you should get. When we got the bill it had been removed but the they still had the cheek to put on the service charge. So I must say I wasn’t impressed and can certainly say I will not be returning as there are much better Turkish restaurants out there. Would I recommend...NO

Family owned Turkish restaurant, with great food, superb service and reasonable prices. Over years it gained a good number of customers, so advance booking is advisable. The only small criticism is the rather insufficiently varied drinks list. Other than that, well worth every penny.

This family run Turkish restaurant for 10 years is in the heart of a lovely Hertfordshire town called Ware. The staff were very attentive and friendly all evening and our food was well presented with very good ingredients and tasted delicious. The kitchen is open plan and they have a small reception area for takeaway customers. We found the prices to be very reasonable.

Had a lovely meal yesterday evening, however I found it embarrassing getting pulled to one side saying I hadn’t paid enough on my bill, however this turned out to be the 10% service charge! Be warned people you do not have to pay this tips are and should always be discretionary.

We went here today for lunch, checked their website for opening times, it stated 1pm-4pm, arrived at 1.20pm to be told they were closing at 2pm, asked if they could do us lunch if they quick, but the owner said no, 20 minutes was not long enough?? We have been here a number of times & also recommended this place to friends & family, well we won’t be returning or recommending again, this was very bad customer service as we travelled to come here.

I must have eaten here about 4 times. I think it’s one of my fav places in Ware. Good food and good venue. I’d certainly go back again.

The food was great, fresh, good quality, friendly service and very clean. I did think though that £3 for a half pint of Efes was more than a little pricey, that makes it £6 a pint and I don't even pay that for it in London.

Amazing birthday meal with both mine and husbands family which was a table of 15 which manolya dealt with perfectly no long waits and delicious beautiful food which my family members still rave about now and are regulars now. Never have a bad visit in manolya eating in or take away by far the best in the area and more best priced as well.

Had a lovely evening here service good food was top notch we had fixed price mixed special very nice but make sure you have big appetite the afters were lovely too loved it only complaint was service charge which I don't agree with but paid it because it was a lovely evening is a bit expensive but good quality would go back

Met up with a couple of freinds who use this place quite often.very freindly staff couldnt do enough for you . Food was much better than expected not as big as some of these bigger establishments perhaps thats why they was more freindly had more time for you .the food was of better quality not as fatty enjoyed the evening will return again

If I had written a review just a year ago, I'd have given 5 stars. The Turkish food here is superbly cooked and presented. The waiting service always very professional and welcoming. However, in the last year the prices crept up, perhaps a bit more than they should have... but that is the only small criticism. If you love Turkish food, you should thoroughly enjoy a meal here. The restaurant is always impeccably clean, with fresh white cotton table cloths. I'd say the entrance could do with a re-thinking of the decoration style, but this is a very tiny and not so important detail.

Love going to this restaurant! Every time we go here the service is amazing and the family that run it always make us feel relaxed and looked after. Most importantly the food is consistently delicious!! Highly recommend the homemade chilli sauce and the chicken shish!

Visited Sat 28th April after reading other reviews. The restaurant was fairly empty when we arrived but all the tables were booked out - so the restaurant did get VERY noisy! The staff were lovely & attentive but unfortunately food was wasn’t quite as nice! We had hot & cold starters (which we’ve had bigger at other Turkish restaurants) - the main course I chose wasn’t available, as sold out already. The main courses were bigger but were very dry leaving parts inedible on this occasion. Upon trying to order dessert, again 2 of the 5 desserts were unavailable & if choosing the Baklava you get 3 pieces the same - again, unlike other Turkish restaurants!

Visited Saturday night 24//02/18 table for four the food was great we had both hot and cold mixed starters and different mains including the the mixed grill all were delicious. A bottle of wine and beers all of which were all reasonably priced. I will be returning great service thanks.

We love this restaurant so much - have now been about 20 times and never had a bad experience. Food is exceptional and so is the service. The only tiny complaint is it can get a bit loud in there as its busy all the time. I would try and book a table near the window or wall. The house doner kebab is the best main meal by far - we can never have anything different. Even the rice is amazing!!!!

This is my favourite Turkish restaurant. We live in Hertford, but if we fancy Turkish food we go to Ware to Manolya. The food is tasty. The portions are generous. The service is good.

Sunday lunch time, place was empty and the bread and salad came the same time as the main meal. The veg. musakka contained very few vegetables and the waiter showed very little interest in serving us. Would not go there again.

18:30 near empty , 3rd time of trying. Table for one checked the diary , offered table , but I think my face changed her mind was first table in side door where over next hour many people collected take outs . Mics table in corner settled on . Menu was explained glass of house red Turkish -great color grow on me. Nice starter very thin pizza base with spicy mince onions, lamb and chick kebab rice side salad dips . All very tasty. Mid Turkish coffee to close . Two glasses wine , starter, main and coffee 28 pounds . Good value tasty friendly.well done .

Ate here with my wife whilst in the area on business, it was a cold Tuesday night so not packed but enough people to generate a nice atmosphere. Had a mixed meze to start that was delicious then I had the mixed kebab which I would happily recommend. Scrummy food nice atmosphere and the couple working were great fun.

Fantastic family run restaurant. I’ve eaten here since it has opened. They serve tasty meat and fish + veg options, you get a lot for the money and it’s consistent. It’s a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, don’t expect silver service just good honest food prepared and served with a smile.

Have visited this restaurant twice recently and both times it cannot be faulted. The food is beautifully cooked and presented and the portions are generous. Wonderful ambience with crisp white table cloths and napkins. I understand it is privately owned and it shows. Dedicated and well trained staff. Why oh why cannot so many other restaurants reach this standard. To the owners and staff I say thank you and well done.

Really pleased with the foods & service here, despite we have to wait a bit for our table but staff were promptly sit us down & wine served immediately. We share the hot starter & Mixed kebabs with added quail as main. wanted to order another main of Seabass, but after staff told us the amount of mixed meat/kebabs we decided to share one main course. Glad we made that decision, because we could not even finish the Mixed kebabs after sharing the starter. Two items on the mixed definitely my favorite - grilled chicken wings & quail, will order just that for next visit. every dish here is freshly cook & prepare, definitely worth waiting if you want to have fresh & delicious foods.. And definitely book a table in advance as this place really busy.......

Me and my partner visited Manolya yesterday for a relaxing lunch, we received wonderful service, and the food was perfectly cooked and very tasty. Many thanks for a delightful afternoon.

We had a anniversary dinner in this place and wasn't WOW factor. I did order grilled Fillet of Lamb and it was really chewy with a lot of fats. Left a lot on my plate. Waste of money. Tried my husband's chicken kebab and it was very dry usually kebabs are juicy but not this time. Would not probably go back.

Very impressed by the freshness and flavours. Highly recommend. The staff were also very welcoming and attentive.

Been here 6 times now and it just keeps getting better. We attended last night and there was a large party of 30ish in but we still received excellent care form the staff. A bit of a mix up with our table but was sorted out very quickly. Our food was delicious - what can I say, never had anything I didn't like here!!. They missed our daughters order form the main meals but couldn't have been more apologetic but after cooking for the large party sure I would have missed something. However they took the cost of the meal off of our bill and gave us a bottle of wine. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves brilliant food, excellent service and good value for money.

The restaurant responded to my last review, after I marked them down for not being flexible over my request for a mixed dip starter. They were very apologetic so I decided to give them another go.Second time they duly complied, so I was able to try a couple of half portions of the cold dips, including taramasalata, my favourite, for the cost of a single portion. This time they therefore get 5/5.The Chicken Beyti was fantastic, grilled to perfection and so tasty.Great to see a restaurant preparing and cooking fresh food with amazing flavours at reasonable prices.
