Manley House in Stafford

Always use this Chinese even if we're the wrong side of town,food is always hot and delivered on time. Good variety of dishes and great taste.

Disgusting over priced food ,,,they scared to give you pot of BBQ sauce that should come with spare ribs but want to sell it separate ,,,burnt black food ,,,,customer service absolutely disgusting

Have used this takeaway for a number of years, but last night the food was awful, chicken (in the chicken balls) was not properly cooked, chow mein was dry and tasted as though it had been cooked many times over, beef was dreadful. As a long standing customer won't be coming back and the food went straight in the bin.

Apparently this Chinese takeaway does deliveries ... probably to ensure those customers don't see how grubby their waiting area is! I went there, wish I hadn't though, but I'm glad I never got a delivery from them too! I didn't look around much as I was just looking at the seating, they were absolutely disgusting, fabric stained heavily and you could see the build up of filth between the wooden struts at the back of them, they looked like they had been dragged out of a skip, I couldn't sit on them, and when I pointed out the 1 out of 5 rate my place that this place showed to my husband, I sat in the car and waited there for him to collect the food (which I couldn't eat after the first mouthful as it was not very nice at all and tasted quite strange) If the seats were anything to go by, I would expect the kitchen to be a real slum. Another person who rated this place, George M with his 'not impressed' review summed up the cleanliness saying a notice on the wall reassured them that the fans in the kitchen had been cleaned out 5 and a half years ago, wow!' .... Trading standards of stafford borough council had as part of Manley Houses well earned 1 out of 5 rating said in their report, that there was rice being kept out at room temperature, no soap or paper towels in the toilet area or kitchen area hand washing sink, dirty floors, dirty walls a dirty fridge and dirty rice cooker/steamer ... Why is this place even allowed to stay open when they happily cook in conditions like that? At the very least, it should be closed down for a deep clean? I second George's 'Wow', and add a further no thanks!

Receptionist very abrupt and not helpfull, when asked if i could have chicken chow mein with sauce she replied i should choose from extra's on menu at £1.50 more, i asked which souce should i pick she said up to you, (thank you for your help, not)so i opted for the house special as it came with sauce at 10p more than the dry option, we also had chicken curry which like a lot of low quality Chinese take aways contained a lot of onion and was bland tasting curry, the sweet and sour sauce is just sweet with no flavour at all, chicken balls/ battered where not good as the batter was not fully cooked and the Szechuan chicken tasted of ??? not sure but not impressed at all. Oh and a notice on the wall assured us the fans in the kitchen where cleaned out five and a half years ago, wow

I have tried other Chinese Takeaways in Stafford but happy to travel 20 minutes by car, driving past three others to get a decent meal from Manley House. Friendly staff and a very efficient Chef. I highly recommend the Special Red Thai Curry.
