Manhattan’s Family Restaurant in Perth & Kinross

Empty cold restaurant. Food took ages to arrive... Food wasn't bad but the cold restaurant, lack of atmosphere and the sheer time to get food not a good experience... Won't be back unfortunately

I went for tea with my friend. When we arrived the restaurant was very quiet. We were told a selection of things that were not available on the menu. There was a bigger table which came in and several smaller ones. One waiter who was very friendly was on the floor himself which is a shame and a lot for him to do and we had to wait a long time to get the bill. The food was good, but served in baskets so some food fell out and onto the table. Overall, very average experience for a reasonable price, but would not rush back.

We decided to try manhattan's as we had seen good things on facebook. We were greeted by a lovely waiter, along with a very small, barefoot child. We weren't asked for our contact details which I believe are legally meant to be asked for. As we were sat we were told that there was no cheese, nachos, or curry. This was at 4.30pm so you think someone could have nipped out and gotten cheese and other supplies. So, no pizza, and no cheese on any dishes at all, which quite a lot are supposed to have. We got our drinks from the well mannered male waiter, and proceeded to look at the menu for cheeseless items. A few minutes later a younger girl walker over to our table and said "what do you want" in not the nicest tone. She also didn't have her mask over her nose, which 2 years into the pandemic is a bit ridiculous. We had scampi, fish and chips and fajita chicken loaded fries which were all nice. The loaded fries came in just a plastic basket with holes in the side to the salsa and sour cream were falling out onto the table. We then had an oreo sundae and a biscoff sundae, which were both fine although we didn't expect there to be chocolate ice cream in a biscoff sundae. While the waitress was bringing one over (a good few minutes apart), one obviously melted down the side and she proceeded to lick it off her fingers before arriving at our table. The atmosphere of the restaurant hasn't changed with the newer owners, its still unenjoyable and felt like we were eating a meal in a nursery. Who I assume is one of the owners or a manager (was going through the back on the phone a few times) was sitting in the far booth with a child in a high chair and the small, barefoot child from when we arrived. The child was running around, whacking things off the toy table, and making loads of noise. Obviously not the child's fault as they were clearly just bored and wanting attention, but it's really just not an environment you want to be in for a catch up and a nice meal. Overall, we were very underwhelmed after our meal. Really, the only good thing was the male waiter and that the food was okay. The attitude of the waitress and the overall atmosphere has definitely put us off returning again. And no cheese for a friday night? I've never been to a restaurant that has just ran out of cheese and done nothing about it.

Haven't been to Manhattans in years but thought we'd give it a try, for a wee weekend treat & a post festive family friend catch up.. 3 x families for a Saturday evening meal. It was wonderful! The menu choices were amazing, right up our street, that was the only problem we had actually - was trying to decide what we wanted, as there was so many tempting options!! (Will just have to keep coming back to try them all!!) Service was impeccable, we couldn't have been more looked after. Ashleigh & Tegan (I think were their names) were so on the ball, continually checking we were all good with our food & drinks and being totally understandable of my husband's particular (fussy) food requests. Food was top tier; quick, hot, tasty, excellent value for money. Thumbs up all round! Adults had haggis bonbons x 2, chicken goujons & garlic pizza bread to start - everything was so delicious & great portion sizes! Kids all ordered pizzas and Paul was so lovely to let them make their own pizzas, he went above and beyond explaining how the pizza oven worked to them and how to roll the dough etc. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this, the kids were absolutely over the moon! Adults mains were philly burger, chilli nachos, cajun burger and a pizza with portions of fries and buffalo chicken bites for sides - again absolutely delicious, hot, large portions. Buffalo chicken bites are not for the faint hearted but made for a good laugh & spice challenge at our table and were still very tasty! We enjoyed a few cocktails which were lovely and not the usual sickeningly sweet, fake tasting ones. They were fresh, full of flavour & fizz. The kids toys & TV were so handy, they got to play and relax a bit before the food came out so that was fab for them! Our bill was such a good price for what we ordered. Will most definitely be back very soon. Thanks so much to the team at Manhattans, keep what doing what you are doing as you are definitely on to a winner with this one!

We stayed at adjoining hotel and had lunch here on arrival then supper served in hotel bar that evening as venue was shut both nights of our stay for private functions. The food tasted great and at a reasonable price - maybe too reasonable for quality of food they serve. I would definitely recommend, nice friendly staff and clean restaurant. Only criticism is that they don’t do breakfast as hotels was really poor And I understand businesses need private functions to survive but it would have been nice to have the option of even a reduced bar menu on the nights they have functions on: this was available on the Friday evening but not Saturday.

My last visit was pre-covid; lots of choice, my soup and toastie was very good value; quick service; recommend it.

Tried to find eating place still open in Perth following a long drive from York on Saturday 17th July and identified Manhattan's as a possibility though they were shutting at 9pm Arrived about 845pm and followed the Covid instructions to wait at the entrance to be seated but no-one acknowledged me. It was very noisy and rowdy with family groups. After several minutes someone emerged from the kitchen only to talk with other guests before walking back. I felt there was little point in trying to shout for attention above the noise and guessed there would have been no time to provide us with a pizza anyhow so turned and left.

Excellent customer service and amazing food. Would definitely recommend and will be returning. We had a variety of food and it was all excellent especially the spicy macaroni with Nacho top.

Lovely food. Great vibe with records and musical instruments around. All booths had TVs which is great. Staff friendly, and prices were very good. Downside was there was basically 1 waitress trying to take orders from all tables. She did say herself she wasn't expecting many people, not sure if thT is the reason for low staff levels.

Popped in for a meal with friends, a few things missing off the menu but still plenty to choose from. Food was hot and very tasty, our waiter Gordon was fantastic, deserves a medal for putting up with us!!!. Prices are good definitely worth a visit

We decided we had time for a quick bite to eat. Went to Manhattan’s just off the main Glasgow Road into Perth (parking outside). Fan decor inside (American diner style). Booths and tables socially distanced. Shame for the venue it was so quiet, hopefully when life gets back to normal it will get busier. Great offerings for a lunch menu with a huge choice. We opted for the steak panini & the chicken & mozzarella wrap, both came with a portion of chips. (One had normal chips, other had sweet potatoes). Nice portion size & perfect for lunch. Came out fresh & hot & well presented. We got 25% off too with the recent promotion. So around £12 for lunches & soft drinks - great value. Friendly & happy service from Caitlin offering recommendations too. This isn’t our first visit and bar one not so great experience (before current owners) based on this visit we will be back again. Defo worth a visit.

Went there for small family celebration, whilst staff worked their sox off, there sadly were not enough of them, this could be a wee goldmine. Also concerned re Covid , that social distancing not enforced as staff trying to cook, serve and manage front of house

Decided to pop out for a meal with my partner and out baby. Thought we would try somewhere new that we hadn’t tried before. When arriving we were met with amazing first impression from a gentleman named Gordon that made us feel completely welcome from the second we arrived. He then processed to deliver an amazing serves through out our visit. Now to the food. I ordered the Mac and cheese cheeseburger 100% steak just add. I’ve never enjoyed a burger like this before. My partner ordered nachos and fajitas she also loved her meal. Great portion size and fairly priced. Will be recommending to family and friends in the future and will definitely be a returning customer 5*
