Mandarin House in Wiltshire

Used them before and been good. Ordered delivery tonight and after 90 mins nothing. Phoned and was told it'll be 20 mins. 45 mins later still nothing. Phoned and told out for delivery and be 5-10 mins. 40 mins later nothing. The guy on the phone didn't seem to care. After 2 hours and 50 mins I cancelled. Hoping refund comes. Order confirmed 18:22 finally canceled 21:11. It's worth mentioning that in one call, after waiting 2 hours, and asking how long it will take, I was told the food will "arrive when it arrives". Absolutely shocking response from someone who clearly didn't care.

Just had a takeaway and happily drove from Salisbury. Again the meal was exceptional, fresh, hot and simply the best Chinese takeaway. The batter on the sweet & sour balls was so light and simply delicious. The beef chow mein was full of beef and vegetables. Highly recommend this takeaway.

Great takeaway with fast service

Food was nice. Really nice curry sauce. Vegetable Omelette partner had was dry with the peas at the bottom (not in the omlette). Large portions and I really liked the strong rolls.

Coming to this Chinese has become an evening routine for us and we wouldn’t change it for the world, the food is excellent, the staff are lovely including the chefs. Honestly no fault at all with this place, I will continue to recommend this place to others and nothing could stop me coming back for more of their food 🤤

Food is AMAZING! Best Chinese around Salisbury. But be prepared to WAIT! When you order online for collection it says 20-35 mins and on the phone they’ve been saying 15-20 this evening. But the wait time was an hour! Probably worth waiting for, but double the time they give you for collection and delivery! Great that they are always busy, but probably could do with telling you really how long it will be!

Hands down best Chinese we’ve had in Salisbury for a long time. Cooked fresh, delicious and worth the money. Highly recommend

After waiting over an hour and half for my order I was really disappointed that my notes on the order had not been read, I rang up to discuss this and was told I would be refunded last night however this has not happened. Totally ruined the food as I had asked for specific food to be changed for a reason, Second time I have had issues with this Chinese definitely won't be ordering again.

Takeaway food here is always great, I really enjoy trying new items on the menu because this place always smashes it :)

Amazing Chinese when staying in an air BnB close by for the weekend. Chow Mein, Crispy Chilli Chicken, Salt and Chilli wings and chips all fantastic. Best takeaway we have had in a very long time. Wish we would move down here just to be close to this place. Up the Mandarin!

Standard local Chinese. Better than some.

Food is quite decent, but last 2 times we’ve ordered we have waited nearly 2 hours for our food. Phoned to ask where our order was after it was “out for a delivery” for an hour, to then be hung up on. Won’t be ordering again.

The ribs are especially delicious.

Best chinese I've ever had always hot and have no faults

Used this modern Chinese takeaway many times and would highly recommend it. Located next to a Spar supermarket with ample parking, the various dishes we have tried have all been excellent. The Singapore Style Vermicelli is just like what I used to have in Hong Kong. I would also recommend the King Prawn Chow Mein.

Ordered over the telephone to a polite young lady who gave me some great advice on set meal choices. Ready when I arrived, all very tasty. Thanks we will be back.

Having had food from there several times I can honestly say I am very impressed and would highly recommend!

I desperately wanted this Chinese to be great since Hoi Fan has been taken over but alas it was not to be! We ordered a delivery on Saturday night which took almost 2 hours to arrive and when it did - the pork ribs were not cooked through. I luckily escaped a bout of food poisoning but we won’t be ordering from here again

30 minutes late no apologies given. Squid over cooked and chewy to the point it was inedible. Kung Po chicken totally lacked chilli, Prawn chop suey again over cooked and tasteless. Prawn toasts and spring rolls were good. Such a shame we have used Mandarin House several times before and all the food was excellent.

We're now done with this awful place. The food is generally OK-ish, but this is a restaurant which thinks it's OK to take a delivery order online for 7pm, and then, when it gets to 7:20 with no sign of the food, and we phone them, to say, without apology, 'it's a little bit busy'. NEVER AGAIN. AVOID, if only for their appalling attitude to the customers who pay their wages.

Placed an order on line. after 1 1/2 hours it hadn’t arrived I called to be told my order had been lost. Blamed the driver which wasn’t the case. Rubbish customer service won’t be ordering again!

Used this takeaway because of recommendations on salisbury camp site. Phoned our order through (although the more IT minded of you can order on line) . It arrived in less than 30mins we were told about 40. Food was hot and very tasty , well worth the very reasonable price. Will definitely be using again next time we are this way.

We ordered takeaway to be delivered to a local campsite. Ordering was very easy online and pay by card accepted. Delivery driver was very pleasant and phoned prior to setting off to deliver the food. Food was hot and excellent, can highly recommend.

House special fried rice, no veg with there proper bbq sauce, proper sauce, gotta try it, rice needed more soy but ate every bite, fairly priced.

We have used a couple of times now and have found the food very good at reasonable prices I had the chicken and pork chow mein with the bbq in large tub it was 7.20 absolutely mazzive and had loads of meat will be getting that again as was yummy only downside we ordered for a certain time when we got in there at time we ordered for they had literally only just accepted the order so we went to shop next door came back and nobody was at counter they could see us there but just ignored us to the point 3 separate people in the que behind us left even if your busy you don't ignore customers

Truly shocking! I would give 0 if I could. So I get it is new years eve and things get busy, but to place an order at 6, then get an email saying collect in 20 minutes, to find myself waiting over 1 hour and 40 minutes. A que full of people waiting similar times. In the end I asked for a refund and left as my order wasn't even being made and was far back in the que. I don't mind waiting but to be told repeatedly that It will be done in 20 minutes and then 10 and then 20, is just shocking. I get places get busy but my gosh! Went somewhere else in the end and food was honestly done in 10 minutes!

Went up New Year’s Eve understand busy but no organisation ordered online and requested for 1/2 hours time, ended up waiting 1 hour and 45 mins from my collection time for my food, understand tonight would have been busy but if you can’t meet the order time your website and online ordering system should reflect this as wouldn’t have wasted my time stood in the shop waiting for it

Collected order. Got home to find no rice(the basic essential for a Chinese takeaway). When I rang up they said I could come back and get it! The rest of the meal would have been cold if I did that. I asked for them to deliver it and it arrived 35mins later when we had already finished (otherwise it would have been stone cold). We couldn’t win either way. Pretty poor considering it was hardly a large order. The food was good but spoilt by not being checked and follow up was poor. Had another takeaway last night10/12. Ordered online at 17.35 for 18.15 collection. Arrived at 16.15. Told by the young lad behind the counter who had zero customer service skills “ it won’t be a moment). Actually given the food at 18.40 and no apology for the delay. I try and support local business but guess it’s back to the town takeaways. Such a shame as the food is excellent.

Very rude when you ring up to ask where your order is, not the first time I've had to do this. Literally just hung up on us. Rang after an hour as delivery time was 25 to 45 mins. Food was OK and hot. But I will stick to my regular as customer service here is dire, not what I expect after placing a £40 order.
