Mandarin Garden in Havering

Ordered a few times & normally really enjoy it. Tonight’s order wasn’t upto scratch & to be honest wasn’t as enjoyable. Squid & noodles were cold on arrival, chicken balls were super duper greasy we both took a bite of one each and couldn’t stomach anymore. Real shame, normally a favourite of ours!

Inedible, worst take away ever. Threw the lot away. Prawn ball batter just Doug. Special Fried Rice was one solid lump Shredded chilli chicken tasted of just vinegar. Oh and chips, just mush

Sorry but really fed up with these late deliveries and just eat updates saying food on way and then enjoy your meal and the food turns up 20 mins later. I phoned the restaurant at 7.30 to check that our food was still on schedule to be told it would be 20 mins. The food arrived 40 mins later!!! It was a big order I know but when you have family, friends and children expecting to eat at 7.45-8.00 and it doesn’t arrive until nearly 8.30 it’s just not on!!! Just eat need to get their delivery times

Beef in peking and sweet and sour chicken was watery. Leaked in the bad. I’ve ordered black bean beef before and also very watery, ruins the flavour. Need to stop watering down the sauce please. Everything else was good!

I normally order my Chinese from Mandarin Garden never been disappointed, however today was that day. Food was cold and not fresh you could tell by its taste and how dry and burned meet was. Very disappointed as I really liked this place.

Quarter crispy duck was anything but. Definitely not a quarter, more like an either and the duck was fatty and undercooked, pancakes were ice cold. salt & pepper chicken was like rubber, it was cold, chewy and inedible. salt & pepper chips were so soggy the container had collapsed. Will certainly not be ordering from here again.

Received my meal slightly late. Chips were soggy and sweaty. Ordered Salt and Pepper Chicken, or so I thought, and ended up with something just chewy. When I called the restaurant they said it’s the vegan option. No mention of anything other than Chicken in the description. Had to ask a few times as to what I have actually been served and it’s Soya. So why does it not state Salt and Pepper Soya. No offer of a refund or anything. First time and only time or ordering from here.

Second time in a row they have forgot items from my order.

Food is good. But their delivery is atrocious. Before paying, it says delivery in 40-55 minutes. After they’ve taken your payment their confirmation says 90 minutes to 2 hours. After 2 hours I phoned, just to be told they were “very busy” and that food was “on its way”. Saturday night in ruined, by the time food arrived we’d got so hungry we’d starting snacking and didn’t really fancy the food.

Got shredded chicken with chilli was inedible tasted like off vinegar ,chips was soggy and I could tell they have been precooked or left out and the worst of worst quality I wouldn’t order there again first experience matters. Order number 201718694

I placed my order at 5.30pm with an expected delivery indicated originally of 45 minutes, then updated to latest 6.55pm. It actually arrived at 7.35pm, over 2 hours to deliver. That is not acceptable.

15 minutes later than the upper limit. Food was so sweaty that anything in a bag ended up in the bottom of the plastic bag as they disintegrated. Food wasn't cold but certainly not hot. 1 hour 50 minutes and it was barely edible - more was left than eaten.

the satay chicken was probably the best I've had, the sauce was separate (which is good) the chicken was cooked to perfection.

Arrived an hour late, luke warm.

Delivery was late. App said it was delivered 10mins before it actually was. Food was very greasy, tasteless with mushy prawns.

Singapore rice was fine, chilli beef was sour and really dark, the salt + chilli chips didnt have enough salt and chilli plus the chips mustve been old ones which was fried and left in the heater for hours. Overall it wasnt really great.

Delivery was much quicker than the stated time which was amazing! Food was OK - maybe 3 out of five stars. Satay chicken sauce was inedible though it tasted like washing up liquid so my husband took one bite and threw it away. Rest was ok, I enjoyed the seaweed and chicken chow mein

Very disappointed. Ordered the crispy lamb with pancakes and it was inedible - just pure gristle that couldn’t be consumed.

Really disappointed with today’s food as I order from here regularly the chips and chicken balls were dry cold and hard and today was the first time the food arrived cold normally the food arrives piping hot. Was very surprised at today’s standards.

Very bad quality today, chips were not cooked, both had to go in bin. Rice had no chicken in. Disappointing as these guys can do sooooo much better. Hopefully just a bad day.

Food came so quickly - around 15 mins after I ordered and I like about an 8mins drive away. Food must have been sitting around and not fresh but was hot and tasted okay - except for the black bean prawns. The black bean sauce was so so watery and light brown in colour with no flavour. Real let down. This should be thicker and closer to a brown/black colour.

Chips were slightly improved, sadly took just over 1 and a half hour to arrive, chips needed microwaving. Sauce was too watery to use. Foo yung was rubbery and missing 1/3rd portion.... WHAT HAPPENED? Two weeks ago I was getting the best take away I've ever had, now its soo bad. I'm going to give this one more try. If Fridays is even close to this bad A 7 year twice a week customer is GONE!

Food is usually great, but today it was so disappointing. 2 bags of chips and we couldn't get a portion out the two of them. One of the chicken balls was empty, foo young was rubber and had no flavour. I don't understand how Mandarin Garden can go from best quality Chinese takeaway in the area to the horrible food we was delivered today. I really hope it improves again, I can only stay loyal at these prices for so long.

Great food as always, Foo-yung is the best, but the chips have gone up in price and down in quality. Small fries just aren't nice with Chinese food. PLEASE stay with the thick big chips, these small fries are really hard by the time they arrive. Dont mind the price raise, just wont pay for these thin hard fries.

Food was hot and very good apart from the squid rings in the seafood chow mein which were very rubbery and could have been used as a hairband. Overcooked but the dog liked them. Not up to mandarin Gardens usual standard.

Food looked as bad as it tasted ! Bland and fatty beef in black bean sauce, chewy shredded chilli beef. Bland and discoloured Singapore chow mein and the chips we threw away as they looked liked like they had been sitting on the side all weekend and recooked for the 12th time. Bit into one chip and spat it out, never eating here again. Very very poor

Hope the change to the chips isn't permanent.

Tried the mandarin garden as Ni hao in Upminster was shut as it had good reviews , king prawn chop suey and chow mien lovely , BUT crispy duck wasn’t , not crispy in fact really fatty , not really cooked properly , after one pancake went in the bin , nice Chinese food but do NOT order the duck .

Terrific food as usual. This company has constantly been quality over the many years I've been ordering from them. My son rates them highly... and he's so hard to please.
