Love the efficiency!! The walkway is there within a minute, One can practically run from the plane to the car park! despite a passport control, baggage control and everything. This organisation is streamlined like a well oiled sewing machine!! Thank you!!! Keep it up PLEASE!!!

As an airport i found this overall to be the best hotel with the viewing deck and cafe and also the Aviation Hobby Shop i was surrounded with an expreiance like no other there are other airports like Heathrow that do no cater for people just interesting like the old days interested in aviation and to experiance by learning on how things work. Manchester give us an insight where a hobby that can be managed and airport security can be managed in such a way that keeps us all safe. I enjoyed my visit at the airport and thankyou to all the people that made my visit enjoyable.

Just flew out with Jet2 from gate D2 at Terminal 2 — the walk from the departure hall was excessive, taking around 15 minutes with multiple stairs. It’s hard to see how elderly passengers or those with young children manage. While construction is ongoing, a better alternative route is needed.

I'm really impressed with Manchester Airport now. Outbound, we went through T1 security really quickly now that no need to remove liquids and electronics from the bags. Friendly and helpful staff. An excellent children's play area. Lots of shops and food outlets. Plenty of seating. Couldn't fault it. Coming back, we were through immigration and customs and in the car park in about 15 minutes from disembarking the plane. Fantastic 😊

Passed through terminal 2, 20th May and on my return 27th May. Very positive experience with very quick passport control and luggage collection on way home. Just one negative comment. Went through the fast lane for security and at the point where you put your tray on the conveyor belt a young female member of security staff spoke to a passenger next to me in a rude, insulting and loud manner. We were all become frustrated that instead of processing our trays in the right order she preferred to chat to her work colleagues and she severely told off the passenger to my right who dared to put his tray on the conveyor belt. Thankfully she suddenly was replaced by another lady who got on with the job of clearing the backlog. Appreciate security can be a difficult job but that does not give the right to insult passengers.

Great airport! Manchester Airport left a very positive impression – everything was well-organized, clearly signposted, and the check-in process was smooth. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the duty-free area offers a great selection of products at good prices. The airport is clean, spacious, and modern. Big plus for the convenient transport connections to the city centre. Highly recommended for both domestic and international travel!

I had someone steal my cabin bag from the overhead storage and from the moment I flagged a staff member, they helped each step of the way. Not only did they make sure emotions were calm, collected, and methodical. They got the full team involved to track down my bag with CCTV (dumped in one of the toilets) checked my belongings, and to ensure my bag hadn’t been tampered with/ was safe.

It's a busy airport but quite organized. Has three terminals T1, T2 and T3. We stayed overnight at a nearby hotel in Winslow from where the Airport was just 6-7 mins away and booked a cab from Hotel reception to reach the airport for an early morning flight. If you have mobility issues lifts to reach the aircraft are operated by staff and it could be difficult to find a staff member. Pickup spots are a little farther away than I was expecting maybe because I had mobility issues then. Cab services at the airport told a waiting time of more than 20 mins so I booked an Uber instead which was just 3 mins and reasonably priced. Loads of restaurants and pubs around the area to fill yourselves before your onward journey if you are travelling far like we were.

🚫 Unclear Signage, Unfair Fines – Scam Setup at Manchester Airport I received three fines around @manairport for simply driving through drop-off zones (operated by @APCOAUK). Signage is unclear, and once you’re in the drop-off lane near Terminal 1 or the station, there’s no way out. It’s a trap. Then came a fine from @ParkingEyeLtd at the Clayton Hotel car park – even though I paid and have proof. Their appeals system is a black hole: no phone number, no human contact, just an automated form. As if that wasn’t enough, @SixtUK slapped on a £40 admin fee, again with no one to talk to, no appeal option, no accountability. This whole system feels like a coordinated rip-off of tourists and visitors unfamiliar with the airport layout. Zero transparency, zero support. Just a stream of fines and hidden charges. ✈️ If you’re flying through Manchester Airport, beware. This isn’t about traffic management – it’s predatory monetization at its worst. #ManchesterAirport #APCOA #ParkingEye #Sixt #Scam #AirportRipOff #TouristTrap #ConsumerRights #UKTravel #CarHire

When we went to split airport with tui on bank holiday monday, it was quite busy, but not as busy as it can get. Flight departed from gate D2 and was only a couple of minutes delayed. Many places to eat and shop while you wait for your flight (and free wifi!). Security was fast, spent about 15 minutes in the queue and was through relatively fast. I recommend the shop next to pret in t2 ( can't remember the name) as cheaper and better than pret and the shop opposite. Can get really busy at times so be careful

It’s outrageous that you have to pay £5 just to drop someone off at the airport. What’s even worse is how deliberately awkward they make the payment process — clearly designed to catch people out so they can charge even more in fines. It would be incredibly simple to add a QR code for instant payment — or better yet, scrap the charge altogether. The airport itself is consistently dirty, always under construction, and still somehow lacks basic functioning facilities. I’ve yet to see a working travelator, and this is the only airport I’ve ever been to where you have to pay for a trolley. Security queues are painfully long every time, and don’t even get me started on the extortionate long-term parking fees. Frankly, we’re falling behind even the airports in countries considered far less wealthy. I don’t know a single person who has a good word to say about Manchester Airport.

Worst airport I (have to) use. Long queues to just get in, having paid the airport for a friend to drop us off. Want to get through quicker? Pay, of course. Food & drink prices are more than you'd pay in the same outlets outside of the airport. Even coming back has been an absolute pain. Landing at 8am, no stand available so we sit for 25 minutes. Get to a stand, airbridge is broken, another half hour sat on the plane. The friend has seen that we have landed and is sat in arrivals waiting for us. When we finally get to their car, it costs more because Manchester Airport couldn't handle a plane landing in a timely manner and they've been parked much longer than anyone would expect. If the airlines I use flew from anywhere else within 100 miles of home, I'd go elsewhere. Can't wait for Leeds and/or Liverpool to improve their services. May 2025. Little has changed. Packed departure lounges, even forced to walk through a shop on arrival (T1).

Airport looks good… aesthetically. In reality it’s very bad, especially Terminal 3. My cousins, who arrived from the USA, had to wait for a whole day since the airport staff lost her baggage, and they came from a 24+ plus flight. Also for us who wanted to pick them up, it was a complete mess as the pickup location was yonks away from the terminal, and even with what3words we could not find each other. Even with our 2nd round in midnight, it was a complete TRAFFIC mess. 30 mins just to get out of parking. The airport should really redo their planning, making it more efficient, like LPL or LCY, or it will loose more customers and get lower ratings. The only good thing is the aesthetics. It is an airport and there are flights to international locations. There are also good transport services to and from it, like nationwide trains (to Wales or to other parts of England) and trams directly to central Manchester. They also expanded their Bee Network, which is great! NOTE!!!! PICKUP IS VERY VERY EXPENSIVE, WITH 15 MINS COSTING £6.20 and 30 mins costing £8! If you get lost like me, you may need to spend more, so PLAN IN ADVANCE!

Apart from all the other reasons this airport sucks (the security rules regarding liquids and bag checks are the most ridiculous in all of Europe, the facilities inside are disgusting and basic, unfriendly staff, etc) the new change to remove the paying barriers will just make people forget to pay so they can collect money from parking fines. Filthy, old, slow, polluted, chaotic, with sullen staff and poorly designed flow designed only to extract cash from people. It is an embarrassment this is the arrival point into the UK for many visitors. They have these new scanner things where you have to stand still on your own in a glass thing. My young nephew is a non-verbal autistic child and couldn't follow the instructions and didn't like the people coming close to him so he dropped to the floor and was terrified. He had his daisy lanyard on yet x2 security men refused to be patient and made him & his dad go with the 2 men into a TINY side room for an invasive swab and hand held scanner and a search of my 6 year old nephew. All his mum could hear was my nephew becoming hysterical from behind the door so she was literally banging on the door in tears to try and get them to stop. All the other passengers were going mad about what was happening also and shouting at the staff as they all could see. He was traumatised and his mum was honestly broken at that point. His younger sister was crying scared for her brother, which must have horrible for her too. If I could give lower than 1 star I would. I have to say, my experience at Manchester Airport was far from pleasant. As others have mentioned, it truly feels like a claustrophobic space, difficult to navigate and frustrating to move through. The layout is cramped, with narrow corridors that seem to loop around endlessly, making you feel like you’re stuck in a tunnel. The moving walkways were an added disappointment – they weren’t working at all. Instead of offering a smoother experience, they just stood still, gathering dust, forcing me to drag my luggage along them as I walked, adding to the frustration. The airport itself feels like a maze with limited seating areas, often in cramped hallways. There’s no clear signage to guide you to your terminal, which only added to the confusion. It’s very disorienting, and I ended up walking in circles more than once. The cleanliness also left much to be desired, particularly around the perfumery area, which was quite dirty. The lighting seemed dim, probably to hide the grime, but it didn't help the overall atmosphere. To top it off, the staff at security didn't seem very professional – they were chewing gum as though they were just on the street, lacking the composure you'd expect in such an environment. Overall, Manchester Airport needs significant improvements. It's a frustrating and uncomfortable place to be, and the lack of organisation and basic amenities makes it feel far less professional than it should be. It’s hard to recommend this airport unless you have no other choice.

Manchester Airport continues to be the worst airport ever! The new drop-off policy at Terminal 1 is just wrong. Most airports have a free quick drop-off zone, but they charge £5 here. I dropped someone off on Friday 16th May at T1, my phone signal wasn't great as I tried to pay for parking online later when I wasn't driving so I never paid right then and there. I used to pay cash at the barriers before. Anyway I've called them today to pay the parking, I waited 30 minutes to get through to an agent who had zero interest in helping me. Told me that a fine is on its way in the post and that I should wait for that and pay a reduced £60 fine from £200. What is wrong with this country, no wonder the UK people are so depressed and sick of each other and everything that goes on here. It's my fault that I forgot to remember to pay online for parking. I'm a human ffs. I'm far from perfect. Why is this even a fault altogether? Why is not remembering I dropped someone off at an airport worthy of my wages at £60 and why do we just accept this is ok?!? That may not be much money to some people but to others it's a lot of money. How is the government allowing this to happen? How is it justified!?! Manchester Airport is textbook how to not run an airport. It has a staffing problem. Not only are they chronically understaffed, the staff who work there, particularly in security, have a very poor attitude towards passengers. I've been shouted at in security at terminal one on more than one occasion for no reason what-so-ever. The amount of time required to get through security is truly mad. I see people missing their flights regularly. The airport is run down, dirty, and the travelators are never working - not once in 5 years. In gates 1 - 8 in terminal one the roof leaks. It really does let itself down and as a frequent traveler (on average every 1.5 months) I'm getting really fed-up with Manchester Terminals 1 and 2. T3 is in a league of awfulness on its' own for a nasty, dirty, and overcrowded experience, though T1 takes the biscuit for staff hostility and overall chaos. I actively try to avoid this airport. Also - WHAT is with the obscene prices for pickup and drop-off? Makes London look cheap. If you read this far, that's exactly where I suggest you fly from - any London airport has so far beaten Manchester, shame Liverpool is so poorly served these days, as that too is far better.

Extremely poorly organised, the staff will just barge past you and did so nearly knocking over my mum who uses a stick. And then they leave you hanging for an hour arlt baggage reclaim. Poor

Airport officials have taken into account the many complaints about security screening and I must say that it has improved considerably, the organization is much better, the passage much smoother; I saw on the displays that only 9% of baggage required a visual check and that the agents now have speed targets to achieve. When it's good, it must be said too.

Terrible airport. And in the winter the air conditioners are cranked up to the point where you shiver.

Manchester Airport is definitely getting better. Our last trip was stress-free, and we found the staff friendly and helpful. Security was much less of an ordeal, upgraded scanners (in T2, at least) meaning electronic devices no longer need to be removed from hand luggage. This is an absolute game-changer when travelling with young children.

I went to Manchester runway to see take-off and landing of the flights and It was beautiful and everything was in order there. Only thing I would prefer is more public transport connectivity.

Always overcrowded rip off parking fees for drop off and pickup and incredible rude security team. No comparison to nearby Leeds Bradford or Liverpool airports. Trips through the airport a bit like Ikea taking you by numerous shops you have no intention of visiting. Today's visit involved arriving and going up and down at least 10 flights of stairs after getting off the plane before security. The place is one big building site. Non of the walkways actually work any more. It is a disgrace for a city like Manchester to have such a poor airport. Not much change a couple of months later. Still broken old and full of rude staff.

Bad signage, expensive trolleys , not enough toilets, no moving walkways, security that seems to be trying to improve but choosing to conduct random checks, even when there are plenty of genuinely incorrect bags to check. Staff seem generally to be either rude or more intent on having a laugh in groups than doing their work , an unmanned help desk and very little seating. I don’t know who actually owns this airport but it’s a national embarrassment.

I’m honestly not sure where to begin here, should I start with the no heating in the the rooms, the very hard wheelchair access to the rooms, an actual pillar inside my room without a view (because there was no window in my room), a combination lock on the toilets on the ground floor, the list goes on. This is by far the worst hotel that I have ever stayed at! They don’t even clean your room during your stay.
