I bet you will not find a more complicated road network for an airport elsewhere in the world. One million roubdabout, parking names that make absolutely no sense like "meet & greet" for example. You'd expect this is the parking where you'd go to meet and greet arrivals but it's nothing like that. Signs that encourage you to use both lanes but at the very end there are cones that obstruct one of the lanes so it's causing havoc upon approach to the drop off. Employees who sneeze and spit on your dash if you leave your car (my video is on youtube...)

I love this airport. I used all terminals. Each has cafes/shops, toilets, there is enough recreation for everyone. Very convenient parking. You can come here, reserve parking in advance and leave your car for as long as you need. The car is picked up at the terminal from where you are departing and can be picked up upon arrival at the flight/terminal indicated by you, which is very convenient.

Queue, queue, queue etc. No it hasn't changed still queue, queue, queue! Also what a rip off for short stay parking! The automatic barriers should say "stand and deliver" when you exit! It is definitely an unpleasant experience every time I fly from here. I used the train service for the first time and despite the prolonged "express" train from the airport I found the service very good. Four stars, but only for the train connection to and from it.

One of the worst airports in Europe. Old, dirty, completely built up. I have been a frequent flyer and have used this airport for many years. Despite recent slight improvements, MAN airport remains totally disorganised, chaotic, and very poorly signposted for those unfamiliar with the place. As a poor soul that's had to go through this place literally several hundreds of times, I can confirm it deserves its 'worst airport in the world' award, and in truth should have won it for decades. Honestly, I could go on for hours. But I'll break it down to a few of the very annoying points. Where do I start? Toilets: T1: They are worse than toilets in a municipal park. I'll leave it at that. There are some that don't look like they've been cleaned in years. T2: Brand new and there's queues, QUEUES (in the men's toilets!!) even when it's not busy! Seriously guys??? And then there's the layout of them. 20+ stones and cubicles, 5 wash basins and 2 hand dryers (with the heaters switched off). I mean seriously? And you have to go back into the toilet area to get to the hand dryers. Who thought this up? Parking: Parking and drop off is a nightmare and it's like getting mugged. (By the way, looking at their annual accounts, they make as much through drop off and parking as they do from controlling the incoming and outgoing airplanes now.) The most expensive parking of any airport I've ever known. Over £6 to drop a relative off because they want you to 'get public transport'... But it's miles away from anywhere. Utter theft. Maybe the part owners, the local council, think Mancunians and visitors to the City deserve a holiday tax? I haven't parked there for years as it's much better value to get a cab.... from Inverness! Madness. Security experience: Basically it's like that Karens Cafe place but in an airport. They basically make you completely empty your bag into the tray, then moan at you for doing so. They are the worst advert for the jovial and friendly nature of Mancunians ever. Honestly, one end tells you to keep wires in your bag, then your bag gets yanked and the other end barks at you for not taking them out. Every blooming time! This is classic Manchester Airport Logic, too. If you do anything annoying to them like flying out of T1 then coming back through T2 then you can enjoy a walk that is about 4 miles long because they've stopped the buses going terminal to terminal to pick people up people that want to go to the various car parks. They did think this through by putting huge long walking escalators in, but, of course, they refuse to switch any of the walking escalators on in Manchester airport because they cost money....like the air con or the heating!!! Seriously. Can anyone tell me when they were last working? Summary; This is the tip of the iceberg. I could literally go on for hours. Charging for the trolleys that help families carry their suitcases to the door, for instance - just such a horrible practice. They should be ashamed of themselves. The whole place is shocking and has been for decades. I have guests that fly in from all over the world and I'm constantly told by them what a shocking customer experience it is. There's no defence for it. They're right. It's so embarrassing!!!

Getting better year on year, well managed with fantastic front line staff, especially as they are there to enhance your experience given it's your annual holiday. The cleanliness overall is exceptional. The airport has been heavily critised for their fee's for drop off / pick up charges, and I feel it is justified. (It never affects me as I always drive to the airport and use the excellent services of Jet Parks.... ) But with technology as it is, (I do understand the airport's trying to stop people parking up for half an hour or more due to delays etc), but could not a system be introduced where you pay for how long you are there, in say 10 minute increments, (this may already happen, as I said, I don't use this facility) to prevent people just parking up and waiting. That aside, it truly is a fantastic airport these days. On my return to the UK this morning, Border Force seem to be getting better in getting people through passport control, but obviously, that depends on the time of day unfortunately.
