Airport officials have taken into account the many complaints about security screening and I must say that it has improved considerably, the organization is much better, the passage much smoother; I saw on the displays that only 9% of baggage required a visual check and that the agents now have speed targets to achieve. When it's good, it must be said too.

I went to Manchester runway to see take-off and landing of the flights and It was beautiful and everything was in order there. Only thing I would prefer is more public transport connectivity.

Bad signage, expensive trolleys , not enough toilets, no moving walkways, security that seems to be trying to improve but choosing to conduct random checks, even when there are plenty of genuinely incorrect bags to check. Staff seem generally to be either rude or more intent on having a laugh in groups than doing their work , an unmanned help desk and very little seating. I don’t know who actually owns this airport but it’s a national embarrassment.

Not content with their overpriced drop off, they've now made it so you can't pay at drop off. They have worked out most people will forget to log on after the stress of escaping the terrible road system and then if they fail to pay in 2 days you will get a massive fine. Absolute scam, incredible that it's legal. Thankfully I always remember to pay. Worst airport in the world

Always overcrowded rip off parking fees for drop off and pickup and incredible rude security team. No comparison to nearby Leeds Bradford or Liverpool airports. Trips through the airport a bit like Ikea taking you by numerous shops you have no intention of visiting. Today's visit involved arriving and going up and down at least 10 flights of stairs after getting off the plane before security. The place is one big building site. Non of the walkways actually work any more. It is a disgrace for a city like Manchester to have such a poor airport. Not much change a couple of months later. Still broken old and full of rude staff.

Manchester Airport is definitely getting better. Our last trip was stress-free, and we found the staff friendly and helpful. Security was much less of an ordeal, upgraded scanners (in T2, at least) meaning electronic devices no longer need to be removed from hand luggage. This is an absolute game-changer when travelling with young children.

We went through T3 yesterday. We had our Grandson with us who has Autism. We went to Special assistance area and they gave us a lanyard for him. As soon as we got to the checking in our baggage a member of staff came to help and got him involved in doing it. Then it was off to security, they told us to go down the assistance lane. They were very helpful and then sent us to baggage check. Again very friendly and looked after us fantastically ( we forgot to empty his water bottle, but they took it away to empty it). These people are human and are all doing afantastic job looking after everyone in a very stressful place

I went to the airport to collect my daughter. It took her 1 hour to get from the plane to the terminal exit, considering they were all natives that is a long time. I parked in the multi storey car park, it had lots of spaces available. It cost £9 for 15 minutes which is expensive. It had lots if disabled places and they were actually near the lifts. My other criticism is that the sign posts are too small. If they were a little bigger it would certainly make it easier to navigate.

Manchester T1. Only 2 of the 3 lifts working in the multi-story car park. Purchased Fast Track security. Totally pointless, as Standard and Fast Track using same lanes. One of the two scanners temporarily broken. Bag got pushed twice, even though told not to remove items..... Hate using this airport but no choice on this occasion

In comparison to Alicante Airport is third class. The staff at the border are frightened to appear friendly (welcome to the UK) After going through the controls, making my way to the railway station, I came across a crowd of people, about 50, they were waiting for one of three lifts to take them to the floor that they require to reach their the station, have they not heard of escalators in Manchester? Finally eventually reaching the Station, as usual the train was delayed with the usual apologies from Northern Network. I didn’t have the heart to give one star.

For some unknown reason the security seemed to single me out for a proper checking over. They had me go through the body scanner, but when my wife automatically followed to go through after me, they just told her to go around without being scanned. After the body scanner they then went over me with a hand held detector which didn't indicate anything, but I was still body searched, again with nothing found. I was then told to sit in a chair and take my trainers off and they had me raise my legs while they searched me again. Part of me is glad about this extra vigilance for our own safety in this world we live in today, but at the same time, I can't help wondering why they were so interested in a British man in his 50's with his wife for no apparent reason. It just seemed a bit odd, as we didn't see anyone else being checked at all. Again though, I would rather the security be strict than be slack. I just hope they know what they are doing and have a strategy and not just selecting obviously peaceful targets.

I've travelled to many 3rd World countries and yet there Airports look so much better than Manchester AND the travelators work! Sack the Director, Assistant Director, Ops Manager and Assistant Ops Manager of Travelators and start again. Make Manchester Airport Great Again!

arrived here on Monday at terminal 2 , check in desk was easy to find via the big display screen telling me which area to attend, security was quickly processed and I went into main airport I had a pass to go to the escape lounge, attended the lounge which was very Busy , very small selection of food was available , There was pies , pasta and some kind of mash potatoes , large selctecion of drinks Negative points , we was diverted to Manchester on the flight back due to issues at Heathrow , we landed at 6am and wasn't disembarked till 11am , the pilot etc was blaming the ground crew staff

Very nice airport, appreciated the fast egates at immigration, but a lot of walking around compared to other airports, and was so crowded that all the lounges we should have been able to go to did not have space for us which suggests lack of lounge capacity, and very few power outlets in the public waiting area which isn't really acceptable in this decade anymore

The airport was nice and clean. And the staff were polite and welcoming. Update: Terminal 3 - Where to start.... The security doors open at 3AM, not like the other terminals, where it's always open. The only place you can order a drink is the main bar area in the Lyon and Antelope bar, which was thankfully open. Everything else opens at 4 that includes all the shops. So far this is the most ridiculous place I have departed from.

My husband had surgery in Goa whilst on holiday, we came home early with Qatar, requested wheelchair assistance throughout, Goa perfect, Doha perfect, Manchester terrible. He was on a wheelchair down the passage off the plane, a lady then transferred him to a buggy along with a suitcase and a large bag, I walked to passport control, didn't see my husband so went to baggage collect, my husband was dropped off at passport control along with said bags, he stood for half an hour looking for me, the lady who had put him on the buggy said I would be at baggage collect, she was pushing a person in a wheelchair, she left my husband to walk carrying the bags down to the collection area, still no assistance for my husband. I saw him and we were left to go through to meet family, our son expressed how ill his dad looked, walking to the car park, still no wheechair assistance, my son saw a gentleman pushing an empty wheelchair and asked if he could take his dad to the car, which he kindly did. This was totally unacceptable throughout, I contacted Manchester airport about the situation, and nothing was done, only lame excuses. My husband is awaiting further surgery at home, so he really needed the wheelchair assistance. Nothing good to say about Manchester airport, to leave a person who required assistance to not only walk, but carry two bags, as said previously unacceptable.

If I could give it no stars I would. From the moment you get there it's horrendous with poor and confusing signage,fees for dropping off passengers(£5 for 5 mins) and if you go over you are severely penalised with heavy fine/fee.Inside is no better with all the shops and bars ripping customers off with extortionate pricing. Avoid at all costs even if it means using a different airport.😔

The worst airport there wifi is very bad, airport T2 and T3 baggage belts are keep jamming, power cuts, check in desk agent's struggling to print out the bag tags as desks are too small and bag tag printer's are worse which causes health and safety issues as agents needs to twist there body. They are spending money on Terminal 2 but there systems are terrible, also long walks to terminal gates and unfortunately walking escalator or not working all the time either.

Trying to get from Term 2 to Term 1 is next to impossible at the moment as the walkways are all closed off where they are doing work! No signage anywhere. The existing signs they have left in place take you to a dead end!! Don’t seem to have advised the shuttle bus drivers either.

A bit unorganised and staff (other nationalities prefer not mention but not English) prefers to talk to each other, rather than helping customers, not friendly, not approachable and disgusting attitude I think they need to know more about customer communications/relation I'll not mention about the friendly/welcoming smile I think is about their culture/education in the end, is disappointing to see all these!

Update: mid-term, mid-week, late afternoon departure, what a contrast to the last time - fairly quiet, smooth and trouble-free. Miserable, abject, woeful! At ~3am it took 1h25 mins to get through security. They had only 4 of 12 security stations open, eventually opening a 5th. Despite arriving 3 hours early, I had to go immediately to my gate. At the end I was waiting in the front 4-5 people of the queue and it took maybe 15 mins from there because they kept letting priority queue people in front, and many of those were people getting very close to missing their flight which they had to bring to the front of the queue, all because they didn't have the capacity. The staff were helpful but there was nothing they could do. The operators of the airport need to fix this urgently.

Absolutely rubbish, stuck with my daughter in security for an hour for... a lip gloss in her purse. They were checking bins containing several bags to check that arrived after us and left us aside despite my repeated requests that we might miss our flight, I am old and I walk with a cane, I can't run but mocking looks. When I said if we miss our flight because of you the airport will provide us with other tickets, he replied it's not my problem if you miss your flight!!! We had our flight at the last minute because my daughter rushed to boarding and asked them to wait for me!!! I will never come to this town again

Lives up to its history of been horrific. Flew from here twice last week. On the second occasions as I was going though departing security, a member of the security staff simply barking orders at me & others to "get your coat off" I advised him that the word please would not go a miss & he just turned to his colleague, laughed then continued messing around like 5 year olds. He was so utterly useless at his role which I assume was to protect the safety of people boarding flights that he didn't bother to ask me to remove my boots or belt, both of which I just kept on & went into the body scanner. At this stage another team member asked why I had them on, so I advised him, that had his colleague had been bothered about the job he was getting paid to do, Instead of messing around, I may have been asked to take them off. This colleague also just found it hilarious & of no concern. Raised it with the airport directly & was sent 5 paragraphs of a generic copy & paste response which in no way shape or form addressed the issue. It seems that you can sail through security at Manchester airport with anything you like as they really do not care about the one job they get paid to do. Security !

Signage to parking is insufficient & confising. Take an incorrect turn & they hit you with a £6.50 fee to open the barrier, you can't reverse. Blue badge holders just don't bother taking them with you, no concessions for disability. T1 short stay carpark is where we were advised to park by an airport employee, drive in & park, walk to terminal (not far) & look for the airport disability assistance. After asking two people the "Asistant" was sat hidden from sight in a corner only visible from the opposite direction you enter from. He then suggested that I cary my wife's case to book it in even though I was only there to drop her off. Needless to say I left him to do his job himself. Returned to the short stay & looked for exit signage. Had to ask someone again who informed me that you have to leave the outdoor parking by entering the multistory car park and passing out the other side where you pay £5 at a barrier for the privalige of parking for less than 10 minutes. In hindsight it's probably better to buy your own aircraft to fly to Jersey 🤔

Friendly staff is the only +. Design is user hostile. Assuming you navigate the parking maze, the checkin area has nowhere to sit. Once through a very efficient friendly security you walk miles past endless shops with no shortcut for those not interested in overpriced "duty free". Even Ikea have added short cuts. The departure halls have inadequate hard seats presumably to push you into overpriced restaurants. Gate areas under designed, enough seats for half the plane. Why no comfy seats? Or carpet so you can sit on the floor? Or sofas to stretch out a bit? Or chairs without steel armrests? Plenty of asian airports manage this well. Once through the gate its a flight of steps down to the airbridge. There is a small staff operated lift, totally inadequate, so hump your carry on down the steps. What other major airport does this? I guess it isnt Heathrow so thats something

Very slick coming back into Manchester with getting into the terminal and cases coming off really quickly The issue we had was on the outward journey where we were having issues with self check in luggage Baring in mind we are not stupid by any stretch, but for personal reasons have not had a foreign holiday for 16 years, therefore are not fully familiar with these machines. We didn’t know you only had to weigh luggage for the hold as no-one and nothing on the machine made this clear however we were confronted with the rudest women I have come across in a supposed customer service roll, who snarled at us whilst telling us you don’t need labels on those bags and now I’m going to have to cancel these!! I took them off the bags and she snatched them out of my hand and stormed away to presumably do her job!!!!! My advice would be get some better instructions on the machines, as we were by no means the only ones getting it wrong, and most of all get some better staff or train the ones you already have

Manchester airport has grown a lot. Some of the outer reaches of T2 are now half a city away from the baggage reclaim halls, and they appear to have given up installing travellators now. It remains my favourite airport but I do think it needs to consider spawning other northern hubs rather than trying to be another Heathrow.

EasyJet bag drop-off was quick & simple, airport security was fast. Plenty of shops & eateries. The travellators never work; why not?

The staff couldn’t care less if your food is correct, hot, or edible. Give you the wrong order literally every time you go in! Put labels on burgers with allergens yet still add them, no staff on restaurant floor, about 3 teenagers in the kitchen who don’t know what they’re doing! Beggars outside and inside is Full of teenagers fighting and mouthing off! Not a place I want to take my children to,

Ordered 2 classic box meals and requested that one comes with no sauce on the burger and the other comes with everything. The order turned up wrong and when I rang up they didn't seem bothered at all and just wanted to hang up so rang the owner and he had the same attitude just not seeming to be bothered at all.. awful takeaway wouldn't recommend at all none of them are friendly and they all couldn't care about getting your order right
