Great food in a comfortable atmosphere. The food was well prepared, plated, and delicious. The service was prompt and friendly. It was also very well priced. Excellent spot for a date night. Highly recommend.

We had the pleasure of dinning at Mama's Kubo with my family and a few friends recently. The food was absolutely delicious and the hospitality show by Claudine and Rommel was impeccable. I highly recommend it.

Staffs are really lovely, I really like how the menu is nor a fusion or inspiration of filipino food and makes you feel you’re just back home - very authentic to it’s core. Meal portions are great for two people and I recommend sinigang (the more sour the better imo) and their calamari! I do appreciate the perfect portions for two people on the meals we ordered, the cooks have taken the time to also balance the taste and presentation of the dishes. Definitely a place I can go back to regularly not just for eating a full lunch/dinner but a place to hangout with friends, to wind down and drink calamansi tea and eat desserts :) For newcomers, don’t expect really large portioning for any meals and might set you back for some of the prices but I guarantee this place will leave you satisfied.

Made me miss my mums cooking :) As someone with a Filipino mum, I'm familiar with the flavors, and I was happy to find that the food here compared well to my mum’s cooking. I was with a group of 8 friends - the dishes were great for sharing, which was perfect since most of my friends had never tried Filipino food before. We ordered a variety of dishes so everyone could try a bit of everything, but my absolute favorite was the fish Sinigang. It had such a bold, strong sour flavour that really stood out. The service was equally wonderful. The lady who served us was very welcoming, answering all of our questions with a smile. She even let my friend sample the iced tea to make sure the sweetness was to his liking before he ordered it. Overall, it was a great experience, with delicious food and a warm, friendly atmosphere. I’d definitely come back!

Real tasty filipino food! My boyfriend is half filipino and was missing his mum's cooking and this place definetly helped. Not only was the food amazing and not pricey at all, the service was wonderful and everyone was so kind. The crispy pata and thelechon kawali are to die for and the desserts are a must, especially the biko!

Should ask smokers to smoke farther as stinks in the restaurant. Taho looks like taho but doesnt taste like one. Please dont bundle pakchoi in the kare kare. And please use bagoong in the kare kare, not the pink alamang. Sisig is good but the owner should add a smile to the hospitality. Could improve more.

Can't recommend enough. Delicious food, super authentic (I think) and nothing like anything I've ever had before. I'd stay and order everything off the menu if I could. The specials board is really interesting and the staff are lovely and explain everything in great detail. Well-priced and plenty of hearty food, would have loved to try a dessert!

Their bubble tea is fantastic with chewy pearls and perfect sweetness. The food is amazing, the atmosphere cozy, and the staff are friendly. Excellent service makes it a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Amazing food from a family run restaurant. I didn’t know much about Filipino food prior to going, but this was a very pleasant surprise, with so many nice unique flavours. Friendly and very helpful service too. A great find with this restaurant, I will be back for sure.

Mama's Kubo...... Take a bow....... Booked for 6 for birthday lunch. Conversed with Claudine over a few weeks organising cake, lunches specials etc etc. Always timely replies with good info. Arrived unexpectedly early, no issue with seating at all. Claudine was front of house and took effort and time to explain dishes to our Non Filipino guests. Service of the food was timely and in logical order. The Meal. Kare Kare was great, belly pork of the specials was excellent, a new take on Sisig for me but enjoyable, the pandit was high quality. Loved the lumpia. Being a regular visitor to the Philippines I've tried most of the cuisine and believe me, Mama's Kubo is up there in the top draw of Filipino Cuisine. Arranged and served a perfect Ube Cake for the birthday lady too. The restaurant is cosy and homely. Ok so the AC was broken due to outside influences, but you are eating food from a tropical country .....you will be warm. So once again, Thankyou Rommel (top quality chef). Thankyou Claudine. Thankyou to all the other staff there yesterday. You made 6 people very happy. Will see you again soon

We spotted this place whilst driving past it a few days ago, and decided to make a booking and come back for a Sunday lunch. We got a warm and friendly welcome, the Menu is not extensive, but adequate, something for everybody. The food however was slightly disappointing. The Pork Belly Adobo and the Chicken Adobo was not quite the way we enjoyed it in the Pilippines. Although the Menu said that it was made with Coconut Milk, it looked and tasted watery, with very little flavour. The Vegetable dish that we had ordered took a very long time to come, and was only served when we were halfway through our main dishes. The vegetable dish was burnt, the tafu was burnt black at the edges and the vegetables also tasted burnt, so much so that we left the dish almost uneaten.

Fantastic food. We were new to Filipino cuisine and they took the time to explain the dishes. We ordered the pork special, which was absolutely incredible, so rich and the crunch of the crackling was perfection. The garlic rice was possibly the best rice dish I've ever eaten. I'm still thinking about the meal a week later and really look forward to returning!

Absolutely amaaaaaazing filipino food! You can tell the staff really care about their food and love trying all the authentic dishes you can’t get elsewhere. The noodles and fried rice were amazing as well as the squid adobo. The fried chicken was so well marinated. The ube rice cake was also delicious. Was served well despite the business. Family run, authentic Filipino restaurant- so glad they’re representing in London!! Ordered the fish sinigang and a bone marrow broth from their special menu. Owners are funny and professional- will definitely be returning despite the journey all the way out to west hamstead!

I give this restaurant a rating of 2 on the food that they served because I was disappointed specifically with the crispy pata. They served a gammon shank and deep fry it. I find it very deceitful knowing that it is a cheap meat and then charging the customer £30 for it. It was salty and very obvious that it is a ham shank because of the colour of the meat. Just wondering as well of what part of the Philippines , cooked a crispy pasta like this. Not recommended.

Food were exceptional, very delicious. Fat on the Lechon Kawali melts in your mouth! Yum! Every dish cooked to perfection, service attentive and very friendly. Price bit high but overall deserve a 5 star rating .

My favourite restaurant in London! Every dish is absolutely amazing and the atmosphere is really nice. I don’t live close by but the trip is worth it everytime. My favourites are the squid adobo and the pork special when it’s on. But again — every single dish is great. And always great to finish with ube ice cream 💓

The high ratings of the place are for a good reason. The food was incredible, and the service was great too - the lady was super kind, explained the specials and the different bits on the menu, asked for allergens, vegans, etc. The crispy pork belly was perfect 👌🏼 Definitely going back!

5 of us had an an early dinner in celebration of Mother’s Day. First impressions on arrival was welcoming. The dining area was cosy and warm. Claudine was very friendly, engaging and efficient. There was a good selections of dishes that cater for vegetarian and gluten free. We all enjoyed the food. The relaxed atmosphere added to a great get together. I highly recommend Mama’s Kubo for a range of Filipino food and value for money. Thanks also to the brilliant chef Rommel!

Disappointing. Cost cutting is rife with cheap meats being used in their dishes. Sistek had no lemon twang. Lumpia was filled with mince and not much else. Adobo also very disappointing. Avoid.

We went there for 3 evenings in our week in London. It is a small place with an atmosphere if crowded, you can eat very well while spending less than in other ethnic restaurants in the area. The couple who run it are very nice

Having finally eaten here, I can see where all the positive reviews are coming from. We were greeted warmly and he patiently explained the entire menu (which is super authentic, and with exciting specials). The atmosphere is really cozy, homey, and lovely. The "spring rolls" were extremely good, and so was the pork belly special and the broth. We will be back to try other items on the menu. Luckily they now open from 1pm and even serve Filipino breakfast items.

We came here for my daughter's birthday as a party of 9. The staff were attentive and accommodating to our needs (fussy tennager and they suggested something she loved on the menu). I grew up on filipino food and it was lovely to experience those flavours again since my mum passed. The food was excellently prepared and delicious and we all thoroughly enjoyed the dishes. Our particular favourite was the pancit chicken canton. The restaurant felt cozy and had a lovely warmth and comfort to it - like being welcomed into their home. Thank you to all the staff - we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and would definitely recommend and look forward to visiting again.

Food is incredible. Had a longanisa there that changed my life, think I ordered 3 portions one time. The chef and his family are also the loveliest people and the restaurant has an amazing family ambience - big inter generational families having celebrations always which is really heartwarming and adds to the vibes. Whenever we go we always end up talking to people on the tables next to us. Did I mention the food is god tier? 10/10

Usually when I get someone to try filipino food, I bring them to the fancier westernised filipino restaurant so I was abit skeptical to go here at first. But I trusted the reviews online and from friends who’ve already been. I was not disappointed! In fact we devoured the sisig and the tortang talong aswell as the palabok we ordered! Serving is also bigger than expected, so we thought we’d have some left over but nope. Simot lahat! Flavours were definitely authentic! It wasnt adjusted to cater the western tasebuds! It was the real homey taste! The adobo had the distinct sourness and saltiness! The sisig had a nice texture and the palabok was smokey and pleasantly fishy plus had alot of toppings! So sulit! Ooh and the ladies who served us were very warm. There were only two of them but they were quick and attentive plus we watched them prep for a big group of people but they still made sure we were looked after! Was very pleased with my experience!

Lovely food served by a very friendly family. I’d never had this cuisine before and had it helpfully explained to us when we arrived. There was a great selection of specials in addition to the regular menu. I had prawn spring rolls in a lovely hot sauce followed by the squid adobo special. Beautifully presented food and they checked to see if we were enjoying it. Please support these guys!

You can tell a Filipino restaurant is good if it's packed with filipino customers Everything about this place was nostalgic, it was almost as if you had just popped over to your cousins house for lunch We got 2 starters, 2 Mains and 2 drinks this cost us little over £58 service incl. The portions were good, just the right amount to avoid that bloated feeling. Everything was delicious, presented well and service was amazing! If you're a filipino missing home, someone who wants to try something new or anything in between I can't reccomend this place highly enough. We will definitely be back, thank you!

Traditional and Delicious Local Philippines cuisine in London !

Booked a table on the off chance on a Friday, arrived and table reserved. Mrs G(the Filipina) had the squid Adobo and rated it very highly. The Beef Kare Kare is a bowl of creamy, beefy, peanuty deliciousness. The Leche flan was disappointing as they only had one left and neither of us wanted to share with each other, wanted one each..... The young waitress was rushed off her poor little feet Ambience is good, it did full up quickly on a Friday night. They also serve Red Horse beer. My favourite Filipino beer. All in all, a decent meal out for Mrs G and myself, will certainly recommend and return

Well priced, friendly staff, great food

One of my favourite places to eat, the staff are so unbelievably friendly and the food is absolutely out of this world. A culinary experience!!

I've been here a few times now, and went again over the weekend. We ordered a pork knuckle dish (one of the specials) and a beef stew, all of which were delicious. This type of place is the reason why I often prefer to dine and support family-run restaurants (rather than chain's with no personality), where the food is cooked with pride with that home-cooked feeling with genuinely friendly service, all of which contributes to a really nice vibe to the place and a lovely experience overall.

We ordered Kare Kare,chicken adobo and fish sinigang for main. Kare kare the beef was still tough the chicken adobo is too vinegary the sinigang was ok. For starter we had the pork spring roll it was good but the Calamari was not it’s very different to a calamari that we like to order wherever restaurants we go. The halo halo is not the typical halo halo that I grew up eating in Philippines. The service was good nice and friendly place just disappointed about the food to be honest.

An amazing find for authentic Filipino food in London! Honestly can not find a fault in any of the dishes, we shared between 4 people and servings were a good size. Definitely order extra rice to to go with it. Service was quick and friendly too. We will be going back many times.

Having watched a load of videos on TikTok about Philippino food I rounded up three friends and we went to Mama’s Kubo for a late lunch. It looked closed from over the road, but it was actually open when we got closer. The food was amazing and the staff were really friendly. The waitress was really helpful with helping us choose and the chef came out to speak to us a couple of times. We had the pork knuckle special, a couple of adobos and accompaniments and some beers and it was great value. We’d certainly go back.

We discovered this place by recommendation, and it is truly amazing food and service. I recommend pomelo gin. This place is a family run business with very kind hosts and more impressively the food is great. Although we are not vegetarian, their vegetable dishes are our main choice. Very tasty :)

Attended a private event and ate a three course vegan menu as an alternative to the meat options. Food was well presented and tasted good. Service was special as the restaurant is intimate. Chef was particularly friendly and went of his way to make us feel about about his menu. I would say that as it was a private event, the vegan option shouldn’t cost the same as the meat option, but that may be different when ordering a La Carte. If you haven’t tried Filipino food, you can definitely start here.

Would give more than 5 stars if possible. Booked the window seat by the entrance for my partner and I's anniversary. Quick response. When we arrived, we were promptly and warmly led to our table. Such excellent food, wonderful ambiance, and world class service. Salamat po.

Went with my boyfriend and his Dad and had a great time! Food was genuinely amazing and the staff were great! This was our first time trying Filipino food and the staff were great (asked if we’d had Filipino food before) and explained everything so clearly and even had photos to show what the food would be like! This is my favourite restaurants in London by a mile. Been multiple times and the food is just outstanding. Perfectly cooked chicken, crispy skin and balanced adobo sauce. The Kare Kare is amazing: great peanut flavour and smoky hints from the aubergine. Coconut rice is really flavourful and complemented everything. Amazing service as well and fairly priced. Absolutely recommend the trip here, you won’t be disappointed.

Having grown up in the Philippines, Mama’s Kubo is my favourite Filipino restaurant in London - and I’ve tried many! Filipino cuisine doesn’t have the same profile as Thai or other Southeast Asian cuisines, but that’s probably down to Filipino cuisine requiring more marketing and socialising. I’m glad that Mama’s Kubo sets a high standard in championing Filipino cuisine. This is one of our regular go-to restaurants when we want to introduce friends to our local gems. The chef and Front of House are warm and treat you like another member of the family. Can’t recommend Mama’s Kubo enough!

Had lunch with my parents here, the place is small but super cosy and clean, staff keep to true Filipino hospitality, service is top-notch, and the food is delightful; but i’m sure you already knew that!

Finally returned to this Pinoy gem of a restaurant after a couple of years. Menu is smaller though and only 4 days of operation. Palabok, slow cooked beef and Biko are still fantastic!! Giving it 4 stars only because the squid adobo and morning glory were too salty and garlic rice though delicious was too oily. I hope these could be easily rectified.

My husband and I received a great welcome. The prawn spring rolls with the chilli dip was lovely. We had the beef ribs to share. The beef was succulent. To be honest for us it wasn't really enough to share, it was quiet small for two people, due to bones and fat. There wasn't enough asparagus and potatoes for two. One ribs each, or just one and something else would have been better had we have known. Fries were not on the menu, but the kitchen accomadated this 😋, thank you so much. The Jasmine rice was lovely. The mango salad very nice, just a bit too much liquid. The only issue was the mango salad came then awhile later the fries, then a good while later the ribs and rice. It would have been good if everything came at the same time! Lemongrass drink was so nice, small glasses though. Maybe a single and large should be available, as a suggestion. My husband really enjoyed the red horse beer. If you are a beer lover please try it. We had to move seats as too many little flys were flying around. However they seemed to be worse in our new seats. It did spoil the meal and my husband and I's time together, so although would have stayed longer we didn't. The price was very good, we would have spent more, and would have gone again.

AMAZING! Wanted to take my mum to a lovely Filipino restaurant for her birthday and this was it! The food was absolutely amazing, the customer service was excellent! Everything tasted absolutely fantastic. Well worth every penny and will be back here again in the future. 10/10!

Second time visiting Mama’s Kubo & absolutely love it! The food is fantastic, good sized portions, very tasty and decently priced. The chicken Adobo is wonderful. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. A hidden gem in North London.
