Having read the Andrew M review I thought I would test his theory. To my surprise the shop was open and had a lovely ambience (maybe because Mr M wasn't there). As an owner operator establishment it is lovely and all the regulars seemed to understand that people can't work 24hrs a day, 365 days a year. Maybe Mr M should send everyone his schedule so they can be open for him I would thoroughly recommend Mama's if you want a local, non corporate coffee shop

Watch out for the sofa. Sat on it and it seemed sticky. Owner had no reason. To explain other than smirking! Might be a place to avoid!!!

Have been popping into Mama's for a while, Tracy is always friendly and happy for a little banter, the cakes are a good variety with some quirky ones, coffee is always hot and great variety. Tracy is even happy for muddy boots.

Hobbled to this little place last Monday for a soya latte and cheese, ham and salad baguette. Bread was a tad sweet but overall really nice. I was sharing a table with another lady who was a great entertainment! The lady behind the counter very friendly. Scanned the covid 19 app at check in. I'll be back.

Popped in for lunch. Saturday lunch 1pm one portion of baguette left so had to opt for another kind of bread as someone else had that one left. Soup of the day was horrible, tasted industrial and out of a tin. Pot of tea for 2 £4 steep, cups dirty and given just one saucer (probably ran out). Panini with cheese ok. Jacket potatoes not available on weekends. Disappointed.

Eight of us descended on Mama’s mid morning just before a heavy rain shower. One person serving, others in the cafe but no panic, coffees came and a good choice of cakes sampled. This is a homely coffee shop also selling paintings, gift cards and the like. Two tables, four chairs are outside but close to the Main Street. A comfy place serving good coffee with obliging service.

Over priced food, anaemic toasties, unfriendly staff, disappointed with visit. Huge potential but currently lacks in these areas. Greet your customers with a smile, improve food quality or reduce the price to reflect current quality. Even saw staff member go get a pack of cookies from co-op and then sell them in the cafe. Hot drinks are good.

Waited 15 minutes for an anaemic 'toastie' spurred on by listening to the waitresses laugh about how the toaster wasn't on, and then reviewing the luke warm toast and saying 'that'll do'.

Enjoyed a visit here with my friend and her children. Kids loved the milkshake and home made cakes and me and their mum had a lovely latte and a toaster. We did have to wait a little bit it was worth it, and it was only due to them being busy, they were working hard. Lovely service. Would happily go back and recommend for anyone visiting Sandy who fancies a lovely relax and a nice coffee, lunch or snack.

I love this place it has a fantastic menu and fabulous coffee. The staff are always really friendly and helpful. The coffee shop is set out really well so if your solo like I was you can have a good chat with the other customers if you wish and there is a really friendly atmosphere in the place. This is a really good place for families as well and the cakes will always go down well for everybody as they are handmade.

This place is extremely small. Only about 4 tables in the cafe and 2 tables outside. It is all very close together so there really isn't much room. On the other hand, it has a nice design as it is pastel themed. They serve a lot of food & drink for such a small place. I would not recommend the milkshakes though because my friend and I got chocolate milkshakes which barely had any chocolate taste to them. I have to admit the hot chocolates are very nice as I had lots of cream and marshmallows on mine. The tables outside are metal tables that sit right next to a main road meaning it's not very peaceful but if you are looking for a place with decent food then Mama's is your place.

I have been to this coffee shop before and enjoyed the experience, however after a walk round the RSPB thought wed pop in for a coffee (it is a coffee shop) it was 25 to 2 on Sunday so plenty of time they shut at 2. My husband only drinks coffee with cream not an unusual request but when asked the owner refused??? thought the customer was always right. she just said we only make coffee with milk so we both had tea with crumpets and fruit loaf. After it was delivered we just felt like there was an atmosphere as the two other customers left we felt like they wanted us gone so they could go home not an enjoyable experience my husband thought it was the worst coffee shop he had been in which is a shame as I know they could do better.....

Went in with my daughter and grandson and ordered our food at the counter. We had lovely toasted sandwiches and cappuccinos. Although quite small, Mama’s Coffee Shop is an ideal place in Sandy High Street to stop for a hot drink and a snack. There is a free car park just opposite the coffee shop.We were lucky to get the sofa to sit on which was very comfortable as there is only seating inside for about a dozen people. There are also a few tables outside. The place was nicely decorated, clean and bright. We didn’t wait very long for our food to be brought to us and the staff were very friendly. They also had some of their home-made cakes and biscuits on display, which looked delicious – we’ll try them the next time we visit. We can recommend Mama’s Coffee Shop for good food, service and value for money.

We are Sandy locals, this is the best place for a good cup of coffee, the prices are also very good compared to the big chain companies. The staff are all pleasant, the cake and sandwich selection is good and priced well. There are usually more than a couple of gluten free options too, which means you are not just stuck with the generic chocolate brownie. It is a small shop, the seating is a bit cramped and unless you get the sofa the chairs are not the most comfortable, it could do with something other than a lick of paint, a theme would be good. They have started to do evenings for different groups, we have seen adverts for meetings for astronomy and sewing groups, I like that they are willing to serve the community in the evenings, this is a nice touch.

Called in lunchtime with a friend after a morning shopping. Very warm friendly and humerous welcome by lovely staff. We both had a toasted sandwich with a coffee and tea. Placed our order at the counter and took a seat. Order was brought to our table. The way the food was served was superb and all the ingredients of the toastie from the bread to the filling was excellent. The price was astounding value for money. Such excellent value and a joy to experience such wonderful customer service. Will definitely be going again.

Visited today with my family, a group of 6. My sister lives in Sandy and always raves about this cafe so it was great to finally visit all together. Knowing the cafe is quite small but very popular, my sister pre-booked a table for 3pm. Found the cafe to be freshly re decorated, lovely bright & welcoming. A good choice of drinks from choc/coffee frappes to pots of Tea Pigs tea. All drinks very good & good value. Look forward to visiting again very soon. Many thanks!

I have been meaning to visit this cafe for a while as it appears very attractive from the outside. My error is indeed in its title - admittedly it is called a coffee shop not a cafe so they were unable to provide cooked food apart from toasted sandwiches.Cannot say I received a warm welcome. I asked whether menus were on the tables and the staff just pointed to the chalkboard and commented that toasted sarnies are listed on laminates on the counter. Neither my latte or toasted sandwich were anything special. Indeed the latte was quite unpleasant being somewhere between a hot chocolate and coffee. Costing almost £6 it was the most expensive snack I have paid in recent times. The place seemed quite busy but again there are only 10 - 12 seats. It did seem part of the local community but unfortunately it was not an experience. I plan to repeat.

I didn't recognise this coffee shop from the previous two reviews. This place is average at best, and I'd only recommend it if you're stuck in Sandy on a rainy day with nothing else to do. Service is disinterested, coffee not that great, and the tables and floor not cleaned after previous customers. Alas, just your run of the mill place which us Brits tend to put up with!

This place is an absolute gem. We're locals and repeatedly come here for the odd coffee on the go or sit down just to take 5. The team responsible are excellent hosts as well. There is a reasonable selection of sandwiches with weekly specials, and a wide selection of cakes and speciality teas. (Even chocolate tea). Our youngest loves the babycino's and teddy bear biscuits!I can't write enough good things about Mama's. It's an excellent choice whether your a local or passing through to or from the RSPB or other areas.

Well it feels like a comfy club. Warm and welcoming, excellent coffee, tea pigs specialty teas, excellent light snacks. I usually go for the weekly special which frequently involves speciality bread, a choice paté, super side salad and scrummy chutney/pickle. And cakes a good selection not just your usual coffee house carrot cake, and locally made Portuguese Tarts, which if you are not familiar with them are a custard tart in a soft caramelised pastry case, just enough for two orgasmic bites. My granddaughter likes the hot chocolate with marshmallows, or if she is feeling grown up a kiduccino, a young perons version of a cappuccino. A very popular venue in Sandy.

What a lovely gem of a pub. Very friendly pub in a lovely little Bedfordshire village! We were here today for a Sunday roast and after eating out at more expensive restaurants in the area and being disappointed by their high prices and average food, this was on another level, it was beautiful!! Everything was freshly cooked and home mad at a very reasonable price. Shall definitely be returning.😁

This place could be amazing but it is lacking atmosphere and the food is very ordinary. It needs a total overhaul. Everything feels dated and they need to look at other restaurants/brasseries in other area. It always seems half empty. Wouldn't go back again.

The staff were pleasant and the food was fine but oh so slow! From the time we arrived we were waiting at every stage. Waiting to be seated, there was no one in sight. Eventually we were shown to our seats and waited again for someone to take our order, waited again and, after being there over 30 minutes, our tea and coffee arrived, but no milk. The coffee was fine but the tea wasn’t hot, but drinkable as long as I drank it straight down. Another long wait for sandwiches and again a wait for cakes. I would have preferred everything to arrive at once so that I could decide how long to take to eat them. As it was we were there over 2 hours and I was bored. I would hate to be there if it was full as today less than half the tables were taken. Not the best experience of afternoon tea I’m afraid.

Stopped in for a tea, coffee and scone for the first time this weekend as we happened to drive past. It was all lovely and reasonably priced. However it is disappointing that a venue in such a prime countryside location doesn’t at least allow dogs inside somewhere. I imagine their foot traffic would increase substantially if dog walkers could come in for a post/pre walk refreshment.
