Enjoyed a lovely brunch - met friends and all had different dishes - eggs Benedict, eggs Royale, Shakshuka & coachman's breakfast. All cooked to perfection. Service was prompt, attentive and friendly. Never felt rushed and rooms here are so cosy. Look forward to returning soon.

Great tasting food, but pricey - we were the only diners - no atmosphere.

As tables have menus I sat for quite a while waiting to be served; a lady came eventually and told me ordering was at the counter (shame it didn't say that on the menu, unless I missed it). Nice warmed cheese scone and rather small cup of Americano, as their standard size. Looked like some lovely sausage rolls etc. on display.

As someone with ceoliac disease, I googled the menu beforehand and was happy to see allergens clearly marked on the menu - unhelpfully however, when we turned up the menu was completely different to that on the website. Bizarrely, the menu that was actually there was only marked with wheat free options and asks you to discuss any of the other 14 major allergens with the staff. The staff also weren’t aware of the difference between wheat and gluten, and gave little explanation as to what was or was not gluten free on the menu. I’m used to the usual caveats around allergens, but this menu felt actively unhelpful and confusing.

Large haddock, portion of chips and tried the curry sauce, all was quality, most would like the curry sauce, just a little too sweet for me, large haddock was indeed large, and very good, fresh. Chips are decent, good size all was £13, although I need to get a regular and try the peas or gravy , great atmosphere and friendly lady serving, also very clean and room to park, il try this place for a while instead of thompsons, will be interesting to see the comparison in regular haddock/cod to Thompsons next time, Peasey Hill in all from what I’ve seen is on par with Thompsons and better in other ways, but those 2 so far by miles better than others in the area so far, that’s including all that rubbish in York.:)
