Peasy Hill Fish And Chip Shop in Ryedale

If you're staying at flamingo land caravan park or just Want very nice fish & chips then in my opinion this is the place to go, the peas and the thick gravy are very tasty. This is the best place by far you've got to travel off site and qué for it but if you're like me from north west and like a good battery fish get the large cod .....it's massive. You won't be disappointed I tried 3 different chippys in a 7 mile radius while staying here on holiday, this would be the only place I would recommend of the 3.

Easily best chippy in the area, never had a bad meal, staff are always happy, music is a nice touch too. Zero complaints. Very well priced too.

Hidden gem this place. Called Saturday night for chippy tea, Large haddock, chips , curry it's really good value, large portions, fish is lovely and curry sauce is amazing different to normal chippy curry it's a must try.

Had excellent gluten free fish and chips. Generous portions. They do other gluten free meals as well. Lovely well appointed establishment.

Went into this place with a list with 5 orders on it 1 was missing (mine) and 2 were wrong I called and when women who picked up just fobbed me off will not be going back

First time here tonight as we were passing through, greeted with a pleasant friendly young man who took our order, cooked fresh and were piping hot, cooked lovely, not greasy at all. We sat outside on the benches surrounded by colourful flowers out the front of the shop. Lovely modern interior with a large menu choice Easy to park on street side or in the spaces in front. I would definitely visit again. Thank you!

Best fish and chips that I have had for a long time

Have already done this review, but since we were so impressed, I'll do it again! What a fabulous fish and chip shop. A 'must' place to stop if your in Malton or passing by. Worth every penny!

Super fish and chips. Cod was meaty and very tasty. Medium chips between 2 was enough for us "older" eaters. Delicious. 😋

I was really looking forward to a beef burger and a chicken burger Special absolutely would never try it again Tasted like horse and yes I'm a holiday maker and Google this place but Google should know better. Very disappointed 😔 And no not going back for a refund just very let down And my tummy hurts And I think they should buy better foods or have cooking lessons or lower the price to McDonald's prices but Will definitely recommend McDonald's. Unfortunately mite look nice to look at from outside but food is very disappointing should have just stayed on flamingo land And had food for the same sort of price if not cheaper !!! Just very disappointed again 😔😔😔

Very nice didnt realise it was open on a Saturday afternoon but it was , pie and peas and chips were banging as we were grafting hard all day , so refuelled us to keep going , will definitely be back as we are local

Best fish and chips in Malton, what else can I say

Usually this is excellent which is why we go there. Unfortunately just had to throw away the most disgusting piece of rotten, stale dry haddock. The fryer must have known it was wrong before cooking it - we ordered 2 and the other one tasted of ammonia. Not up to standard this time. Disappointed.

Heard good things about this place. Ridiculously large portion size of chips but terrible quality. Lady ahead of me complained about wrong fish and they did them again but she was still waiting when I got mine later so suspect they were her chips. Haddock was tough and pink whilst the cod was smelly. Mushy peas were good.

Happened upon this chippy when travelling, and it's clearly a popular one. Lovely light and crispy batter on the cod (generous portion too) and the chips were a good mix of soft and crispy. Oh, and chip spice is available too. Top notch.

Great chippy this with plenty of places to park up nearby to snaffle up their fantastic freshly made fish and chips. Also...Best mushy peas I've ever had. My girls were given an extra portion of fish bites as a treat and my dog an extra sausage! Lovely lady serving and very quick service.

So expensive never coming again I could have brought a new house with the crazy prices

Just visited at 19:40 tonight, the sign outside and times online state open till 20:00 . When we arrived were advised they had stopped serving at 19:30. If you advertise 20:00 serve till then or don't bother opeming its not that they were quite about 4 people where still waiting on there orders. Having a small shop/business like this in a market town like Malton relays on there good customer service but tonight this failed. Having been coming to this Fish shop for many years I feel very let down by this attitude and if this attitude does not change I can not see a business like this lasting in a small rural community. Please think carefully before visiting this fish shop untill the owners are willing to change the information available to customers and advertise the correct information or open till the stated times.

Little Gem in Malton good value for money fish and chips spot on, will be going again when travelling up to Filey.

I have known this shop for the past 3 years, Carlos, the boss, is a very nice man. He treats his customers like family. And he always likes to serve fresh food to all people. He never compromises in the quality of food. Whenever I go to Malton, I like to go to him, his nature is very nice. And its staff is also very friendly.

Dont know the area but spotted this place, honestly wish I hadn't. What do they cook the chips in ? Driest ever. No fish just loads of batter. Thank god it ain't my local.

Wow! Delicious fish and chips!! The best we’ve ever had and four empty boxes to prove it!! The small fish and chips are an excellent portion size and the staff were really accommodating. All cooked fresh. We found this place via a search on Google maps after a trip to Flamingo Land and it was the perfect end to a great day! Thank you!

Well, if you like fish & chips, this is the place, they do small portions if you eat what I would say "normal" portions (if you're over 50 that is) for less than £5, otherwise you'll be overtakes, the portions are huge but the flavours are so good that you don't want to leave a scrap on the plate.

The oil at this fish and chip shop clearly hasn't been changed for a LONG time. As the photos show the chips were brown and limp. The fish was a poor excuse of a piece of battered fish and the battered sausage was barely battered. The overall quality of the meal was extremely poor, the only edible part of the meal was the mushy peas... Barely. Most of the items on the menu including all sizes of Haddock and large cod were out of stock as well as other items. This is strange for 18:30 on a Friday evening. I won't be visiting again and drove home to eat the meal so couldn't just go back for a refund or to complain.

Large cod supper, I don’t mind waiting if it’s fried there and then - and it was !! Lordy me, it was a huge bit of succulent cod expertly fried, just the right amount of crunch in the batter Chips were a bit overdone, nothing major as the hero was the cod and by golly what a hero it was Keep up the good work guys..

This is easily the best fish and chips in town if not anywhere. I always drive from down norton to get them but its always worth it. Never had a bad one. I get them in boxes to make sure they are still extra special when i get home. Just want to thank Carlos and the team for alway providing great service and amazing freshly cooked food.

Just had some awesome fish and chips from Peasey Hill. It was our first visit here and it didn't disappoint. If you visit here you'll be very happy but make sure you bring your appetite because they do not skimp on portion sizes! Brilliant.

These guys are so popular and soooo busy, work like machines and deliver. Was with you on Friday night, you were open one hour and my order number was 102. I was blown away how well you all coped under pressure and my family tucked into a fantastic dinner, thank you! 😊

Live local the other side of the (norton) heard really good things about this place, so thought I would try it out. It did not disappoint! Perfect, nest fish and chips I've had in a very long time. Batter on the fish was so light and not dripping in grease and the chips were very nice too!

Found this gem on the outskirts of Milton whilst out for a ride on bikes. Really lovely fish and chips (with cheese too!). Really friendly staff and chatty locals. If there was a handy bench nearby to sit on it would have been perfect.

With the previous owners the food wasn’t as delicious as it is now. The customer service has improved and the manners from the young lad and the other lady were outstanding, and the waiting time was a lot better. The food wasn’t as greasy and the chips we’re done nicely. I would just keep them for a less period of time in the box as they got a lot darker and cook a fresh batch. Other than that I highly recommend a try.

Even though I’ve lived in Malton five years now and only half a mile from this takeaway shop I’ve never used it. Til now. Bought a large haddock with chips and curry sauce for both myself and the Mrs. The haddock was large, not medium advertised as large, it was large along with a good portion of chips. The curry wasn’t a hot hot curry but I’d say a mild one..( correct me if I’m wrong Peasy Hull ) It was all yummy and had it all. First time visit to this takeaway shop but I don’t think it will be my last, think they’ve got a regular customer in me now. Thanks Peasy Hill.. any future customers won’t be disappointed with you... as Simon Cowell would say..” I didn’t like it at all... I absolutely loved it”

As a visitor to the area, we bought our extended family's supper here and happy to report that both the haddock and the chips were very good and piping hot. Service was prompt and customers asked to wait outside, to provide social distancing.
